Retribution
It was I. But ... I didn't say not to use brushes altogether, but not to use pre-made brushes. Brushes are a very handy tool, but when you're using pre-made things, you're basically having the work done for you, and reaping the benefits. It looks blurry, thick, and uncontrolled. There's too much to look at, and it seems as it there's something frothing in the middle of it all. The colors work together well, but this banner has too much in it, and things need to be subtracted from it. It flows along the edges, in a circular pattern, but the center is hard to navigate, if you see what I'm saying. And a border would be nice. ^_^
Ima
Well Ive only used premade brushes once or twice and if I do use them I only use one brush from the set the rest are made by myself. But yes the image dose not flow but I just attempted to make somthing by playing with the features.
Delta
God, man! So you made that banner with just filters? *whistles* It looks balanced, flows nicely and feels alright to me. The reds, oranges and black remind me of molten rock. It's like looking down one of those vents above underground lava rivers. I like it very much. Had a feeling Trib was behind this move. *chuckles* Alright, I agree with Trib. Your banner does need a border. Black 1px won't cut it, though. I suggest putting a 2px dark violet border set on, hmmm, Color Burn (I'm assuming you're using Photoshop ^^) inner to the black border. Anything that darkens the margin but doens't conceal those wonderful swirly details.
