The other day i drove up to my kung fu academy, and walked inside. I saw a chinese man teaching to the students. I asked my instructor who this man was an he looked at me suprisingly. He said "This is master tong sheng wei. 9 time world champion!" I was amazed that a 9 time world champion would come to our very small town. I asked him why such a martial artis would come to our school, He interrupted me and told me he was 2002's best calligrepher as well.

He explained to me that Jeff (the assistant instructor)'s son went to china to learn under master tong sheng wei, and became his best student. Eric (jeffs son) fell in love in china with a buitiful chinese woman who was moving to america. So he moved back to america and back to our academy. Master tong sheng wei missed his old disciple and traveled to america to see him once again. Which brings me to were I am now. Learning under master tong sheng wei. I was able to perform a set in front of him, which was very honorable, and he even performed for us!

He made us some fabulous calligraphy, that I will show you, soo you can all admire.

Anyway, this thread is soo that people can tell about there experiences with any famous people.

I met the master of Kuk Sol Won. Some South Korean guy. Met him after the annual tournament when I was in England.

Other than that, I've met a couple famous authors, and even the Sheriff of Nottingham! I tea and scones with the Sheriff. He's a very nice man.

Other than that, I was close to meeting Prince Charles every now and then...at least I saw him.

Ryan Malcolm sang at my cousin's wedding, which I shall always find amusing and kind of cool.

Aside from that, I've met a few authors, mostly of children's books.

There are always movies being made in this city, though, so I hope to see a star one of these days.

Lol, Godel you met Ryan Malcoms? The best of the idols, was he any good back then?

Anyway, I've met a few musicians, Gord Downie, Gord Sincliar, and Bobby Barker of The Tragically Hip most notably. I met them sneaking out of the backdoor at a concert, but I think that the Gords were stoned so they just kept running, but Bobby signed my Road Apples CD. He also gave me 30 bucks not to tell anyone they were there.

Well unfortunately I haven't met anyone has dynamic and exciting as the rest of you, but I was able to spend a night partying with Blink-182, as well as Everclear when they came here to Vegas. That pretty much comes with the job though.

I was able to actually talk to and hang out with these people though, if we're talking about seeing people in real life but not actually getting to spark up some sort of interaction with them, then I've seen almost every celebrity in the known US. With as many award shows held here, I see alot of them come through town.

Yes actually.

My grandparents are rather tight with the higher ups in the GOP, so I've dined with Dick Chaney (Far down a long table lol, but still the same table), talked *briefly* with President Bush, talked to Senators Santorum and Spector (R's, PA), met Rep. Murtha many times, and I also know Rep. Candice something or other because my best friend's bro is her Legislative Policy Coordinator (I. E. Plays PS2 all day on a 60" flatscreen at taxpayers expense).

I've also met Jason Gildon, Hines Ward, Lynn Swann, and other current or ex-Steelers (GO OAKLAND!!!!)

I'v only met a few poets that wrote kid poetry books back when I was a little kid (Like 1st to 3rd grade). So, no, I'v never actually met any famous people, but I think a distant realative of mine might have worked on the 4, 5, and 6 Starwars movies, but im not real sure.

I do know this person who is a Architect in LA and she went to Elijah Wood's (Frodo) house to take pictures of his rooms and stuff so they could help remodel it.

I met Jonah Lomu when he was signing his autobiography in Waterstone's. He was large and in charge - normally when celebrities come to bookshops for signings they have a massive security entourag, but The Lomu needed none of it.

On a related note, my friend's uncle, who I haven't met but who I know by two degrees of separation, got killed by Chewbacca in Episode Four. He's also had his arm melted off by alien blood in one of the Alien films. And my mum's friend's brother is Andy Serkis, who played Gollum. But then again, mentioning them is cheating really - after all, you can reach anyone on the planet through six degrees of separation.

I know a guy, who knows Rei Fu's brother (Rei Fu did the first ending to Bleach, "life is a like a boat") and through him I was able to get a copy of her CD~ (since I couldn't get it stateside ^^; )

I've also met a few voice actors, if they count for anything... like Amanda Win Lee, Wendee (sp?) Lee (who is super nice), Crispin Freeman, Tiffany Grant, Greg Ayers, and so on ^^; And they were all really cool~

I met Mark Pender last year at the Jazz Festival we have here almost every year. He's known for his magnificent trumpet playing on the Conan O'Brian show. Yeah, I got to shake his hand and talk to him for a little while. Really nice guy. It was fun to watch him play, because he wouldn't take a breath for minutes at a time, and staying on those high notes made him light up like a cherry. I highly doubt I could ever play trumpet like that, he's very talented at what he does.
My mom did a project for Elijah Wood's(Frodo off of Lord of the Rings) grand father once, I'm not sure if she ever met Elijah though, she might have.
I think I might have met someone else, but I'm not sure who. I must have met the person when I was younger, otherwise I'd have remembered.

I've never really met many people that were famous. I've come close to it, but actually being up close and talking in person? Well..you're not going to believe it. But yea, John Travolta. I was like 12 though and we went to boston for a vacation. I was a major book nerd so I begged my mom to take me to the local book store cause I heard it was really neat there. But she said she was tired of walking so she made my older sister and her friend go with me. My mom loves John Travolta, and thats her favorite actor so you could say she missed out. Once we got into the book store, we noticed there was a huge line and up front we saw him signing books (it was for his latest movie). So we stood in line and got my mom a signed book. He even gave my sister a hug. I didn't recognize him until I thought of the movie grease. That's the only thing I knew him from at the time. Oh well, my mom really blew it that time. Still he looks different in person.

I was at a party earlier this year and my uncle, who's party it was, asked me to get photos of everyone there. Vernon Kay and his wife were there and had no problem with it, but then I tried to get Hugh Grant, who was too cool to let me and kept moving so that I couldn't. Got him in the end though with my mighty telephoto zoom lens.

I've talked to Riggs, the guitarist, and Blasko, the bassist from Rob Zombie, on their message boards. I sort of know them now as aquantances not all that good. I asked Riggs when he was planning on starting work on his next album for Scum of the Earth and he responded saying that he's still on tour.

My friend met Cameron Crowe and Kirsten Dunst on one of the outdoor sets of the movie "Elizabethtown". He is playing soccer outside a window in a scene with Kirsten, so it will be interesting seeing him on screen. 2 degrees, lol.

I'm actually going to try to be an extra in the second movie being made in 2 years in my county of 90,000, "Fort Knox". I wonder how they'll shoot it since any unauthorized personel within a few thousand feet of Fort Knox is, well, terminated. Shot with 6000 bpm Gatling guns to be exact. If your lucky enough to get to the vault, drowned is your method of execution. The movie is about someone breaking in (who would have thought of that?). Maybe I'll audition, maybe not.

If you've ever been to a UK Basketball game like I have, chances are you've come close to meeting Ashley Judd. She is the most devoted UK fan that I have ever seen. She even missed the Oscars one year to see an important game. The funny thing is, no matter how crazy she gets at the games, we are all thinking the exact same thing. The refs would eject us in a heartbeat if we started screaming, but they can't touch her. She's freaking Ashley Judd.

-I met Henry Rollins this past winter at my college. He was there doing his "Spoken Word" thing and it was hella funny. Afterwards my friends and I waited in line and got an autopgraph and picture with him. A couple of my friends got in a long conversation with him about some punk band and a book they wrote. They told Henry that they couldn't get a hold of a copy. Then Henry said "Ok. Im gonna rock your worlds." and gave them his e-mail address and told them to e-mail him there addresses and he would send them a copy for free. It was hella awesome!

-This September Im hoping to meet Bruce Campbell. He's having a book signing near where I live so Im gonna check that out and hopefully meet the Master of Boomstick.

I've met a few famous people in my life but they were mostly WWE superstars. The first was Mick Foley, who happens to be one of my favorite superstars. Actually come to think of it I must have missed him because I had to get his autograph from someone else. Oh well, but there was Charlie Haas who came to the Super 8 tournament. He was having photos taken with him and fans in the middle of the ring. I remember it because he had just won the tag-team titles with Shelton Benjamin. He was caught off gaurd because I was the only one who went to shake his hand and say congratulations. Even though I was a nobody I could tell he appreciated it. I still have the picture in my room in a folder somewhere.

The only other famous person I met wasn't really a person at all. I was about 5 or 6 and I was at the bank with my mom and R2D2 came in. Now I can remember this because it was on the news and the reporter was filming the stare I was giving R2D2 as I had never seen Star Wars at that age and didn't know what a robot was. I wasn't scared just curious as I noticed he beeped alot and then after a quick lap he left. Thats probably why R2D2 is my fav Stars Wars character today.

I've met some guys from Star Trek. That's it.

They're filming some movie on my block today, though. Like right outside my door. I'm not sure if it is Stranger Than Fiction or The Break Up, but if I run into Queen Latifah or Dustin Hoffman or Will Ferrell or Jennifer Aniston or whatever, I'll let you know lol.

I almost met Billy Idol in May. I was so close to geting him to sign my Davil's Playground Cd. Plus, During his concert he pointed a me in the crowd during the song "Scream", which is a very dirty love song.

My dad has met the WWE superstars too. He works at the airport and some of the late birds were flying in one night. The WWE super stars were Big Show Triple H, The Hurricane, and many others.
