Vahn sat in the empty school room, silent as a mouse. He was scared, though he didn't show it. He could hear noises from ouyt in the hall, the sound of some one-or something- moving, dragging their feet. It passed by the door, and Vahn breathed relief.

"some one make this nightmare end......." Vahn knew he couldn't stay here, he had to move. But he was in the second floor health room, he didn't want to run into the janitor, the lunch lady, or several other teachers and students.

"I have to get out of here...." Vahn pulled out his stunner from his bag.It was an animal stunner, designed specificallt for Oscar when he got out of hand. Usually, the lqarge african elephant was docile and rather like an over sized puppy. But there were things that did set him off.

Vahn was in his work uniform, and it was covered in blood, from some animals he had tried to save, but couldn't. The zoo was a scary place now,, he had only barely escaped. He also knew he had to go back, eventually.

"I hope this thig is powerful enough....but i really don't want to smell burnt flesh... even if it's alredy dead......."

Gado looked around the club and sighed,"Dammit all. This is a god forsacen hell hole and I'm caught in the middle. I dont even know if anyone else is out there eating another person or not. But I do think there are others." HE walked over to the br and walked around to the entrence. He looked in and saw blood, he guessed it was from Roy, the bartender, nut the body was gone. Luckily for him, the shotgun kept there was still in its normal place, under the counter.

"As much as I dont want to use it, i probably need it." He grabbed the gun and the box of shell next to it. He loaded four shells into the gun, and the rest went in his pocket. "Why the hell were those kids eating him. That is not normal, not normal at all." He shook his head to get the immage out then started to walk around the club, looking for anyone, or anything that may still be in it.

Akina was crouched beneath her history teachers desk, wishing that she could just wake up in her bed and start the day over. Her uniform was stained with blood, whoms blood she didn't know, her glasses were cracked and barely staying together. Halfway through class is when it all began, she was taking notes on the war of 1812 when a very ill or dead looking student came in the room and started munching on the nearset student. Now she was the only one left in the class room excluding one dead student in the back that hadn't stood up yet. Her heart was beating a thousand times faster than it should and everytime she closed her eyes she could see that first student enter the room. Eyes glazed over and not looking at anything in particular... almost like his soul had left the body and left it to terrorize others. She never imagined that something like this could really happen, this knid of thing olny happens in horror movies and video games.

The sound of shuffling came from the other side of the room, and a moan followed after. Akina held her breath. 'I hope he doesn't find me.' She thought desperately. She tightened her hold on the letter opener in her hand, he makeshift weapon of choice at the moment. She listened intently as his footsteps began to drag across the floor, she couldn't tell whitch way he was going. Her heart beat faster. He was closer, she could tell now he was just on the other side of the desk now. 'NOW!' Her thoughts shouted for her to move, she obeyed and ran from under the desk. As she thought, standing on the other side of the desk was David West, or at least his body, starring ahead with lifeless eyes that sought only one thing now... flesh. Davids body stumbled forward in attempt to attck Akina, she backaway and head for the door, making sure to grab her backpack in the process. The zombie whilred around ungracefuly tripping over a backpack. Akina reached the door and paused a moment. 'what if there are more out there?' She thought suddenly hand on the door knob. She turned back and looked at the stumbling zombie.

"'I'd rather handle this one than a whole hallway full." She spoke to herself as she turned to face Davids zombie.

Vahn heard a sriek from down the hall. "Damn it all! Why do i have to play hero??"

Vahn went barreling down the hall, to where he heard muffled whimpers. He kicked the door in, and saw a girl fighting to keep a zombie from biting her. "Hold on!!" Vahn picked up an desk and slammed it onto the zombie, making it let the girl go. He yanked his taser, and stuck it to the zombie. White light pulsates through the dead boy, and Vahn withdraws the taser. The body slumps, truely lifeless, smoke rising from the corpse.

"Come on.... i'll take you to safety."

"Who are you??" the girl asked. Vahn surveys her. Her glasses were broken, and her uniform was stained with blood.

"I'm Vahn... I've seen you around. Akina, right?"

"Yeah.... and you're Vahn Yumura...That wierd albino kid...."

"I may be weird, but right now, i'm your only chance. Umbrella will launch some kind of counter strike into the city, i suggest we find a way out of the city....."

"How do you know that???"

Vahn smiles. "I've had dealings before..... Just drop it."

"Okay..... Where do we go??" Akina asked, she ws tembling.

"Well, my car is at the Zoo, but i am not going back anytime in the next hour."

"Why aren't you going back to the Zoo? Why were you there in-"
She stops, realizing he was wereong a park uniform. "Oh... I take it that......the Zoo... is....."

"Full of undead animals? Yes. But I do need to go back."

"Why?"

"My car..... my car has some documents i procured. It's also got some of the anti-virus hidden in my locker in the employee's break room."

:""anti-virus???"

"Come on... i'll tell you about it later..."

okay, obviously, VaHN IS NOT NORMAL. He'sgoing to reveal more later.

Akina was trembling a great deal, almost where she couldn't hold the letter opener anymore. She did feel sense of relief now that she wasn't alone though. She was now being led by the hand of Vahn, the weird albino kid in her math class. She caught a glance at a group of zombies muching on what looked to be what was left of the Gym teacher, she cringed, Vahn felt it.

"You probably shouldn't let your eyes wonder, theres gonna be alot that you probably don't want to see." He sugggested as they pushed forward.

"Okay." She stated shortly. She directed her eyes forward, and starred at the back of Vahns head.

"None of the blood is yours is it?" He asked quietly as they moved toward the stairs.

"No." Her voice was soft.

"You weren't biten or scratched?" He added.

"No." A simple answer.

"Thats good." Vahn remarked.

Bobby shivered as he munched on half frozen fries. He didn't shiver cause it was cold, no the freezer had been turned down quite a bit from freezing. He shivered from the fear he felt, remembering the screams of the dancers and the customers as the...well, the zombies came crashing through the door and windows. He stopped that train of thought real quick, he needed to eat, he'd been having trouble stomaching the food with those thoughts floating through his terrified mind.
He pulled the coat a little tighter around him, the parka kept him warm enough, and he could always use the cardboard as cushioning, why not stay here? Deep down he knew why. He hadn't heard anythin but the sounds of moaning, the sound of flesh being torn from lifeless limbs. They echoed through the entire building, god damn the vents. It was driving him crazy, he'd been there for a few days now listening to the awful cacophony of pained wailing. He needed to get out, he needed to leave the city, one way or another. He needed to see if any one else lived. Hell he had, he definetly wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, he wasn't even trained to fight. He had maybe about a half hour max of learning to shoot a gun, boss thought it'd be best since bobby did lock up at one in the morning.
Heh, he'd taken the pistol instead of the shotgun, that was stupid. It'd still be out there though, he was pretty sure they couldn't use guns. Hell, they hadn't learned to open the door yet. Plenty of liqour out there too, lot's of stuff above forty proof. Didn't that burn well? Boss said it was good for business: "the drunker they get, the more money they'll spend!" made sense.
He made up his mind, he grabbed the gun, stuffed the pockets with food, if all else failed, he could run back here. He walked to the door, his boots echoing painfully against the silence. He grabbed hold of the emergeny release handle, he prayed hoping they weren't just being quiet. He pressed the handle in, the door swung open, it creaked, god he hoped they had left, or died off...that make him feel great about leaving.
The minute he stepped out, a wave fetid air washed over him. The sickly sweet smell of it made him think of rotting fruit. He could feel the fries coming back up. His blood turned to ice when he heard footsteps, they were above him, going up the stairs to the second story, they didn't shuffel like a zombies. He decided against taking chances, he went straight to the bar.
He wished he hadn't. Mutilated corpses were sprawled acrossed the floor, their blood painting the walls strange, vivid colors under the light show, heh it was still running, Dj hadn't had time to shut it off. Bobby spotted his decapitaded corpse at the back door, bloody pulp puddled where his head should have been. He glanced around, not seeing any of the bodies getting up, he slid around behind the bar, and froze: The shotgun was gone. That meant that someone was, or had been still alive. Maybe those footsteps he'd heard a moment ago. Could be, but first things first.
He grabbed the bottles of the rack, trying out each one on the tables with his lighter to see which burned easier. He didn't have a lot of bullets, molotoves would really help. Hell, in this place, anything would work...

The ventilation shaft echoed Rayne's ragged breathing. She couldn't help it. No matter how hard she tried to be completely silent, her heart still thumped out a loud tattoo and her breathing just wouldn't ease. She'd never been so scared in her life!

Rayne had been chased by undead police officers all over this building. She had believed she was safe when she had locked herself in her darkroom, but it hadn't lasted. The undead had finally broken down the door. She had escaped though the only other opening in the room, the air vent in the celing. She'd been scrambling through the system for what seemed like days since then. In all the rooms she had been able to peer into, none of them had anything that she would consider alive.

Rayne was terrified -- and she'd cracked her favorite camera lens when she had scrambled into the vent. She'd even forgotten the contraption had been around her neck till then. She'd never be able to afford to replace it . . . arrogently assuming she lived to try.

Jacks revolver clicked a few times before anything happened, He only had a few rounds left before he had to reload and there were a whole hallway of zombies between his hiding place and the weapons storage room. He scanned the room for any likely escape points but decided not to go for the window because of the two story drop even though he could take the jump onto a tree outside but he couldn't jump that far with all of his Body Armour so he decided to go for the next best exit, an incredibly narrow Air duct which connected to the storage room.

"Better than nothing" Jack told himself even though it looked Like it was incredibly tight, "Bloody Hell" He swore quietly as he stripped off the Body armour then climbed into the vent. He was correct on the tightness and after much muffled swearing and squeaking he finally crawled out into the storage room. Taking in his new surroundings he grabbed a good old Chromed Shotgun and filled his pockets with ammunition for it and his revolver. He was bought back to his senses when he heard a sound of ragged breathing and since Zombies had no need for breathing it had to be a Human. Nevertheless he bought his gun up to where he beleived the breathing was coming from and demanded to know who it was.

Akina's breathing had began to finally even out and slow down though she wasn't sure why, her and Vahn were still being stalked by leigons of the undead. She held the letter opener more loosly and comfortable now, she couldn't decide if that was from the numbness her body began to feel, or if it was that she felt protected and more focused. 'I wonder what all that stuff he said about Umbrella was earlier.' She thought to herself watching out the hallway windows. The city beyond was desolate and other than the undead walking the streets, abandoned, no not abandoned, just dead. They reached the front double doors to the school and opened them carfully only to be attacked at that moment. Akina's senses finally kicked in and before Vahn could to move to counter attack the zombie she had thrown the letter opener so that it had lodged itself in the zombies brain and it collapsed in front of them. Vahn glanced back at the terrified Akina, she was starring down at her right hand.

"Wow, that was pretty impressive, I had no idea that you could do that." Vahn stated.

"I'll tell you about it later, when you tell me about Umbrella." She replied quietly her voice sounded un-nerved.

"With noone in this place, its actually kinda dull." Gado said as he walked into the bosses office, only seeing his boss sitting in a chair, dead as daylight.

"Shit, Ray. What the hell happenend to you? You got attacked didnt you?" He began to walk over to the front of the desk as he heard footsteps behind him. Gado quickly ran to the side of the door, out of sight, and waited till the person walked past.

HE quickly ran behind the person and pointed the shotgun at the persons head."Listen up, take that pistiol of yours and set it on the ground. Then I want you to turn around slowly."

"Gado? Holly crap man. I thought you were dead. Everyone else that I know of is."

"Bobby. You arent one of them are you? I really dont feel like shooting anyone I know right now."

Bobby shook his head,"No way. Ive beenhiding out in the freezer for a few days now. Where have you been?"

"Home. I was on my way to work and I saw two kids eating another one. It freaked my out. I see that Ray is dead. Now whose gonna pay us?" He let out a little chuckle as he turned to their boss and watched him stand up.

"Not good. Hes one of them! We need to get outa here!" Boby was pulling on Gado's shirt sleeve.

"Let me get one good shot in at this bastard. He never did treat anyone good ya know." Gado raised the shotgun to his shoulder and pulled the trigger, turning the bosses head into hundreds of peices."Tell me Bobby, what the hell is going on?"

Bobby stared at Gado incredulously a few moments before speaking.
"what do you mean 'wha's going on?' This has been happening over the last week!" He shuffled through the papers scattered around the floor. Finding what he was looking for, he held an eight day old newspaper up for Gado, the bloodstains helped illustrate Bobby's point really well.

"Jesus...I don't really watch the news or listen to the gossip mills. I just did the best I could to live my life." Gado looked like he wsa going to be sick, Bobby felt bad about being a little harsh, it was just the past few days had really gotten to him? How did you miss something like that till after it had happened? Oh, well didn't matter, he knew about it now. He dropped the newspaper and retreived the pistol.

"okay look." He checked his gun, fully loaded. " We don't exactly have all the ammo in the world here, and we don't know how bad it really is, we should try to use the guns as little as possible." He picked up the molotoves he'd made to answer Gado's question before he could say it. Nodding, Gado stood, striding over to the pool tables on the far side of the room. He took the heaver ends of two pool sticks, sturdy enough to do some damage in his powerfull arms.
"alright so where do we go? The police station? they should have some guns and ammo there."
Bobby thought about it, for a moment his face growing darker the more he thought.
"Wouldn't hurt to check I guess. If there are police alive, then they holed up there, if it's as bad outside as you said it was." Gado shook his head, ready to move on, bobby stopped him. "But, I think we should consider that most of them are already dead. If that's the case, then most of the guns will already be gone, or the bullets all used up by now. so don't get your hopes up."
"yeah, I won't, just hope it's not that bad." Bobby nodded in agreement, he prayed it wasn't that bad. He took a deep breath as he and Gado stepped out the door.

"Uh. . . it's Rayne -- the CSI photographer." she softly called out in her Irish lilt. She wasn't exactly sure who had shouted down the ventilation shaft. The echoes were terrible. She thought it was one of the officers, but she wasn't certain. She didn't know many of them very well, but they all called her "Irish", so she sort-of stood out of the crowd. She hoped her lilt would reassure the cop - she hoped it was a cop and not just some zombie that had miraculously re-learned to speak - that she was who she said she was.

"Then come around the corner nice and slow." her ordered.

"Slow be the only way to move in these tiny boxes." she shot back.

"Just come here." he barked.

Rayne shrugged her shoulders and made her way as quick as she could to the voice.

Jack pointed his pistol at where he heard the voice and waited patiently for a few moments then sure enough, Rayne crawled out of the air vent and jumped down in front of him. She looked terrible, her eyes were starined and her camera lens looked like it had taken a hell of a hit.

"Did you get bitten?" Jack asked Gruffly, not really caring who she was just as long as she wouldn't attack.

"No I didn't" awnsered Rayne who was also carefully looking up and down this new ally but Jack continued on without waiting for an awnser by asking if she could use a gun. Rayne shook her head after a second of contemplating but Jack, being the rude jackass that he was passed her a pistol from a locker and told her to try to fight.

"Now, do you have any idea how to get out? Because unfortunatly, those Zombies will break through the other door and continue to other locations" Jack said then felt included to add "Such as here."

Rayne's gaze went from the pistol to the officer's face, and back to the pistol. Well, if he wanted her to have it . . . so she tucked it into her denim jacket's side pocket. She knew she should check to see how many bullets it held, but she didn't know how. She remebered this officer's face. He was special ops, so she had never worked with him, but she did remember his face, if not his name. She had been intoduced to him once, but that was nearly a year ago, and right now she was fortunate to know her own name, let alone anyone else's.

"Well, I canna guess at the state it could be in right about now, but if we can get one floor up, the holding cells are empty and the only guard that was stationed up there is not there now. If we get the barred door to the cell's hallway closed, it could buy us some time while we get to the roof right above it." Rayne replied thoughtfully.

"What makes you think the guard is no longer there?" Jack demanded.

"What's left of him is still in me darkroom. I smashed him with me camera, breakin' me lens, I might add, then poured all me photographic etchin' acid over him. He was gettin' rather gooey when I scampered off."

"Good reason for assumption, then. Why the roof?" The girl was spunkier than Jack remembered. Of course, he hadn't said more than a handful of words to her before this.

"Because the catch for the fire escape is up there."

"Now how on earth would you know that? I didn't even know that and I've been here for far longer than you." What kind of paranoid goes around looking for fire esacape latches? Not that Jack wasn't grateful for the information, but he wanted to know what kind of person he had here.

Rayne blushed. "I watch the sunsets from the roof. You canna see it from me apartment, so I go up on the roof here each evenin' to look at the colors. I found the catch a few months ago. Now can we go?"

Gado peaked around the corner of the building then looked at Bobby,"Its ok kid. Lets hurry up and get over to the station." Bobby nodded and ran after Gado across the street.

"Isnt that it? Over there?" Bobby said pointing to the tall building about a block and a half down the street.

"Yup. Its gonna be hard to get over there if we have alot of them dead things walking around. How many bullets you got?" Gado said as he began to count his shotgun shells.

"Seven. Its not gonna last long. How many do you have?"

"I got twelve. This may get a little hard, kid."Gado gave a little smile"After you."

"umbrella, huh?"

Vahn sighed, as he kicked open the school's front glass doors. They were jammed. "God damn it..." Vahn kicks harder, and the glass shatters, but stays together.

"How did you do that?????" Asks a confused and scared Akina. "Those doors are made of plexiglass......"

"I'm stronger than i look. I used to take on full grown elephants and rhinos, for money. With my bare hands.Another reason i hate umbrella."

"wow.... you must be quite taken to this quiet little city."

"I am.... it's the first actual home i've ever had."

"Oh... You must..."

Vahn shrugs. He reaches intop the glass, and begins to tear it apart. "Ladies first."

"Oh please. Don't patronoize me."

Akina wiggles through the glass, avoiding the sharp edges. Vahn's hands are all cut up, but he doesn't even notice any pain.

"you wanted to know about umbrella?" Vahn throws his hands into the air. ?"Umbrella is responsible for this..... They have experiments... and obviously, something went wrong. As in all cases, they will terminate all signs of their mistake. One reason i've been on the run is because i've...." Vahn laughs, but it sounds more sad than anything. "I've been running from them all my life... because..... well, i'm one of theirs." Vahn pulls his uniform's collar down far enough to where akina can glimpse a tattoo of a bar code. "Number seven six eight two oh one five zero.......o biological weapon."

Vahn smirks."That's all i'm telling for now. But i will say this: I'm a theif as well. That's why i have the antivirus. I knew something like this was going to go down... buyt i could only hope i was wrong."

Akina starred for only a moment at the barcode, she dodn't want to seem rude.

"So... you're a weapon? That was created to destroy." There was a pause before she spkoe again. "I'm glad you're not associated with them anymore."

"Me too, I really didn't agree with the idea of them playing god so they could smite their enemies. So whats your secret miss Kishu?" He asked a smirk crossing his face.

"I'm sorry..." Akina acted as though she didn't know what he was talking about.

"Don't play ignorent with me, I saw you throw that letter opener, and that my little asin friend was not the result of adrenaline. So whats up?" He wasn'rt looking at her as they spoke, he was watching the road and avoiding zombies. Akina hesitated but she knew it was to no avail.

"Alright... my father is the leading master of Japan's largest exsiting Ninja clan. So naturally being his daughter and only child I was taught the silent and deadly arts of ninjitsu. So thats it, no big deal."

"No big deal huh?" Vahn glanced back at Akina she was glancing off to the side, and blushing. "Thats pretty useful, and here I was thinking that I'd saved some poor innocent school girl, lucky me shes kicks ass." He turned back and starred ahead. There was a group of Zombies ahead that they were trying to avoid.

OOC: wow...

Bobby stared at the swarming creature's waiting for them to clump together a little more. He was glad he'd made those molotoves, now they wouldn't need to waste bullets needlessly, who knows what else wandered in this god forsaken hell hole. There were a number of cars around too, no one would miss any of those, and he still had a few moments, the zombies shuffled along ploddingly. Gado stared incredulously a bobby ran towards the beat up car.
"Where are you going?!" Bobby yanked the door wide, jumping into the seat, he'd done a few joy rides when he was younger. He tore into the car, opening the section with the ignition wire's. His eyes and hands flew acrossed the tangled mess quickly, pulling wires apart, and touching the two together. The engine roared to life, and Gado fired once. Tire's squealing, bobby pulled in Gado's way, the zombies were much closer now.
"Don't waste bullets! Think!" He jumped out, pulling one of the rags from the molotoves he'd made, thank god for that. Gado'd rushed to rip the gas cap off the car, bobby stuffed the rag in hurridly, lighting it. He and Gado sprinted away, as the Zombies came round the car.
"Don't stop running!" bobby, pushed his legs hard, they began to burn.
"No shit!" Gado's muscled girth started to pull ahead.
They felt before they heard the explosion. The massive thump hit straightto their hearts, the heat washed over them in massive waves, the tumbled to the pavement in a shaken heap. Both raised their heads to see blasted, charred chunks of human flesh scattered acrossed the road, a number of Burning zombies stumbled around the burning wreck. Black smoke poured into the night sky.
Bobby chuckled to himself, now the problem was a lot smaller. Gado reached his massive hand down to help him up.
"Not a bad idea," He glanced around hearing the frenzied moans of thousands more zombies "But we'd better keep moving, the police station ain't far now."
Bobby stood, slowly. His head kinda hurt from that.
Gado was right, the Police station wasn't far...

Gado walked over to the dors of the station and looked in."The glass on the doors has been busted out. Thats a good sign."

"What are you talking about? Busted glass is busted glass. Or at least thats what i thaught." Bobby said as he looked down the street for any more of the walking dead.

"Its a great sign kid. If it were busted in, that means that something was trying to get inside, but its busted out. That means what ever was in there, left." He smiled and loaded three more shells into the shotgun and then walked into the main lobby.

"Damn. This place is trashed. Papers are everywhere."Bobby began to walk around to the front of the desk and saw a body with alot of bullet holes in it."I think you were right. Something did try to get out. Whatever it was, they manged to shoot the hell outa that guy."

"Where the hell are the stairs. Ah there they are." He began to walk up them, Bobby at his heels as he stopped."I think somethins still here, kid. I hear footsteps."

Bobby got quiet and tried to listen,"I dont hear anything. How do you know?"

Gado turned around and pointed to the scar on his face,"When you got one eye, your other senses get better." He smiled and began to walk up the stairs agian.

"How the hell did that happen? I never really saw it before." Bobby began to walk agian, this time quieter.

"Barfight. It happened a while ago. its normally hidded by the darkness." They came to the third floor and slowly began to walk down the main hallway.

Vahn and akina walked down the street, the zombies standing, uaware of them as of yet. They had to move silently. They may be dead and stupid, but they were hungry.... one sound and they would be dinner.

A zombie started walking... or rather, moving, it's bones really the only solid structure in it's body. Vahn pulled out his taser, and pressed the 'on' button. It was only a matter of time. They darted down a side street, and ran a block.

"Vahn!! The police station!!" Vahn glances. Lucky them, they were able to get in. It might be an opportune place to get some weapons and ammunition.

"Come on..." The doors to the poloce tation were broken, and they wandered in. There was a dead cop lying on the ground. Vahn had known him, he had often been pulled over by this cop..... but not for a ticket. no, they engaged in rather...consentual and explicit acts. He had been quite a lover.....

"Samuel...."

Vahn closed his eyes, and brushed away tears. "Damn it...."

Vahn moved around, and up some stairs, akin following close behind."Who-?" she starts, but Vahn shakes his head. "He was a good man......and a dear freind."

"Oh...."

Vahn looks into the S.T.A.R.S. office, lucky them there was a gun lying on the table. "I had been the only one to beleive Jill and Chris....." he mumbled....

Akina looked at the gun, and Vahn handed it over. "Don't worry, i'm very skilled." She tries to hand it back, but Vahn won't take it. "That is better than no weapon. You may be good with knives, but those pretties are quite handy." Vahn's eyes take on a distant look, his memories playing inside his head.

Akina took the gun, holding it akwardly in her small hands, she knew how to use a gun she just prefered not to. She held it up to inspect it closely, fully loaded. 'Good' She thought, 'But I still don't want to use it.' She slipped it in her satchel, hoping that Vahn wouldn't notice.

"You cared about that officer didn't you?" She asked quietly. Vahn stopped infront of her, he didn't turn around, and there was that pause that said all she needed to know. "You don't have to answer me if you don't wish to. Just know, that I'm sorry. I have lost people in the past that were close to me, so I understand what you must be feeling right now." Vahn shook his head in the affirmative motion and moved on. Akina follwed behind, just as she had been, she glanced behind them down the hall. She could see a zombie shuffling out of one of the other rooms, it turned in their direction and began to shuffle faster. She lifted the flap on her satchel and pulled a shuriken from inside and threw it hitting her mark perfectly. Vahn turned in time to watch the zombie colapse to the ground, knife lodged in it brain.

"Why didn't you use the gun I gave you?" He asked looking in her hand to see no gun.

"I prefer my own weapons, I'll just use them till i'm out, and then I'll use the gun I promise." She replied quickly in her defense.

"How many of those you got anyway?" Vahnasked raising an eyebrow.

"19 now, I did have 20." She stated pointing back at the zombie, which lay twitching at the end of the hall. "Wait, did you hear that?" Akina held her hand up to signal Vahn to be silent, he raised an eyebrow at this. The sound of footsteps could be heard above them, then a gun shot.

"Some one's upstairs, and they're alive!" Akina's voice pitched to excitment.

"Did you hear that?" Rayne asked the officer. "There was a voice coming from downstairs."

"So?" he asked beligerantly.

"So?! That means someone is alive down there. That means we're not the only breathing beings in town."

He sighed, then motioned her to follow him. He had to check it out anyway. Never leave an enemy behind you if at all possible. Especially an enemy you know nothing about. They carefully stepped over the body he had just blasted into immovability and made their way to the stairwell as quietly as possible. Rayne kept near his back, looking over her shoulder almost constantly. She knew she was practically useless in a fight, but she could at least warn the officer if anything was coming at them from behind. When they were halfway down to the next level, they met two living people. A guy and a teenage girl. The guy, she recognized.

"Hello, Vahn." she lilted softly. She'd seen him here a few times. He was usually visiting -- someone. Rayne never knew who, she never asked. She'd said hello to him each time, and occasionally he would strike up a short conversation with her as he waited.

"Irish?" he asked.

"Well, Rayne." she corrected. "Just the officers call me Irish. This is officer -- ah --" and then she realized that she still couldn't remember the guy who had just blasted a zombie away from her's name.

"Jack is fine." he growled. "Now let's get somewhere not here. Move it!"

"Mine name's Akina just so you know." This was directed at the spec ops officer that was rushing them on. He didn't even give a second glance over the shoulder.

"Well its a pleasure Akina." Rayne replied as they began to move on. Jack held the front follwed by Vahn and then Rayne with Akina close behind. "I really wish he wouldn't do that." Rayne whispered.

"Do what?" Akina asked fingering a shuriken inside her satchel.

"Leave us in the back, like I know what I'm doing." Rayne stated.

"Trust me we're more safe back here than up there ib the front lines. Besides I'd rather hang back while the men strut about, it makes us look better." Akina gigled slightly as she mockingly strut a few steps.

"Confident, aren't you??"

"Yup!" Akina replied, her smile warming him. It was good to see that people could still smile, even amongst... well, what was happening.

"I am Vahn. tagic prince of this new necropolis..." He mumbles, twisting a passage from a book he saw lying on a nearby table.

"This sucks....." Vahn ventured away from the others, he thought he could handle himself.

But low and behold, two dogs came rushiong at him. "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

Vahn dodged, but the second dog bit him. Using all his strength, Vahn broke the dog's neck with his bare hand. "Ew.... now i will need that antidote....."

Vahn pushed forward, barely ahead of the dog. Down stairs he went, to the basement. He found the artillery room, and packed a handy backpack full of hand guns, ammo, and a shotgun.

"Now...... i am back in buisness......
