Art GFX Battle: Goddess vs Ima

[font=tahoma]I'm calling you out Ima. Let's go.

This battle is going to be different from all the other battles that we have seen so far. I don't want to take away your ability to use brushing, yet, I am not talented enough with brush art to let you make the rules. So I have come up with an idea to settle this tipped scale.

[b]Theme[/b]

We are going to battle using expression. What do I mean? I mean that with a simple phrase/lyric/sentence, we have to create a graphic that will explain/describe that said phrase/lyric/sentence.

Rising Sun has done the honor of giving us a part of a lyric from The Clash:

"I fought the law, and I won."

With that, I want you to make a graphic that expresses that lyric. How you see it in your mind, is how you see it. How I see it in my mind, is how I see it. This poses difficutly for both of us. Since we both, obviously, have opposite opinions.

Any questions should be directed to my PM.

[list][*] Artwork may be anything you feel is needed to get your vote. This means, you may use your brushing techniques. Dimensions? What dimensions? It can be as big or small as you like. Abstract or detailed, anime or realistic, I don't care. As long as it gets the point of expression over the boards, anything is game.

I will not place restrictions on how to design or size artworks. I feel that is lousy, you don't get to stretch out as you'd like. With restrictions, you are limited, and that's no way to present a work of art, non?

Well I cannot vote but I would like to comment on this.


What can I say? I really like the overall image you went away from your normal style in a way. This shows alot I like the Bloody Knuckles And the upside down American Flag. Maybe the Rising Sun would have been kick *** in this but oh well. The overall image is really really kick *** I cannot really express myself since We already know what youve shown. You've stuck with the theme and I shows. Nice Nice job.

Hmm.. Tupac, eh? Well, Tupac does represent a sort of "Resist the Law" kind of thing, but your banner doesn't show that. All it shows is him in front of some orange stuff. o.O It doesn't really represent the theme at all. And I don't particularly like the background, either. AND there's no border. That bothers me the most. A borderless banner looks.. unfinished.

Ah. Now [i]this[/i] illustrates the lyric perfectly. I like the bloody knuckles, and how they're in sort of a resting position. It tells of having fought and won, just like the line says. The upside down flag, to me, represents the law after being defeated. And having the phrase, "anything can and will be used against you" is brilliant. Truly. The entire image stuck to the theme, and did a great job of expressing what the line meant to you.
