I was playing my PSone Arc the lad game and was wondering what Really good anime game came out lately? I know that Full Metal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell, and Cowboy Bebop(?) are coming out but are they really good, quality games or just a quick cash-in for the game companies? I'd like to know what games r out and if their any good... TC

Naruto Narutimetto Hero 2 is pretty good.

Mostly a 2D fighter with large multi-level stages, the game also includes an RPG mode that allows 3d roaming.
All the characters are done by the proper voice actors in the series, and the mouth synchronization to the words is better than the Anime. All of the genin's are in the game with a few surprise characters. Even a character from the Naruto movie is in the game. You can also collect figurines, music, and videos by earning money from Ninja missions.

The only worry I have comes from playing the game at my friend's house today. You're able to boost a specific character's stats very high, making for DBZ-style speed and jumping ability. I had Hinata jumping across the screen in single bounds. It makes slightly confusing and irritating gameplay. Oh... if it weren't for the boosts, I would've won. XD jk.

Despite the reviews it got Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is very good. The complaints that came up the most were the platforming. While, yes it doesn't make sense for the Major to die if she falls ten feet since she jumped like 40+ feet in the intro, any person whos played video games before shouldn't complain about simple platforming as its the genre that started all video games (mario, sonic, etc). If you can't stand platforming put your PS2 up for sale and take up some other hobby.

The missions are cool and you get to hack into your enemies if they have cyber brains. For example you could hack into a sniper and use them to snipe off enemies from afar. You could then make them jump from a high up ledge and kill themself.

Another thing you can do is download the id tags of enemies you've downed and a you will then see emblems representing where enemies of the same type reside around you. This helps you plan your attacks and stay concealed more often.

Basically I would recommend GS: SAC for at least a rent for fans of the show.

.hack is my favorite anime game. it lives up to the series and it gives you some insight into "the world".
i loved how you face "the wave" a series of bosses that are in The Epitaph of Twilight.
I just loved playing this game. I hated though how Star ocean can put two long discs into one box but .hack was four short discs spread out in four boxes, it's just how they ripped you off trying to make more money. Even though the series is expensive if you buy them brand new hot of the shelf like i did it's still worth it.

Lucky for people new to the series, the .hack games are $20 a pop, now. I wish they'd sell them in a box set or something for a cheaper price. It seemed like that was their original intention. I'll have to agree with you that they were my favorite anime video games. I played a demo of Ghost in the Shell and enjoyed it, but I'm rather broke and I haven't been able to justify paying for it until I can get it used for ten bucks, lol.

I bought .hack//INFECTION the day it came out because it sounded very interesting to me. The funny thing about it was the fact that I had a weird dream right before I heard about the game that me and some friends got trapped inside an RPG, it was odd. So I paid $50 for that one. I later paid $35 for Mutation, $50 for a glitchy copy of Outbreak, which I returned and bought again later for $20, then I got Quarantine for $20, so I feel pretty lucky I guess. I cringe at the thought of paying $200 for four games that are exactly alike, but back then I was about to.

Well, i havent bought them all yet, mainly cause of the money problem, CAUSE NO ONE IN INDY WANTS TO HIRE A 16 YEAR OLD, jerks.... newya, i got the second one, mutation, for 15 bucks, CAUSE IT HAD A TINY LIL RIP IN THE CASE, it was so tiny, and i complained about it, cause i wanted it for "collection" value, and she gave it to me for 15 if i wouldnt tell her manager. I LOVE LAZY PEOPLE. thank you for making my world cheaper, NOW JUST GIVE ME A FREAKIN JOB.

I'm getting the feeling that there are alot of .hack players out there. So how long is each disc? Is it long enough that u feel satisfied with ur purchase or is it worth playing for story content and not gameplay? I think tecmo should come out ith a ninja gaiden anime. Similar to Ninja Scroll.

Its been a long time, but if I remember right, each disk ran a little over 20 hours if you unlocked everything on the disk. As for gameplay, its pretty good at first, but it starts to get repetitive after a while. (for me, I got a little tired of it about half way through OUTBREAK) Each game is just basically the last one, but harder. Enter field, clear field, enter dungeon, clear out dungeon, grab special item with statue thingie behind it, sometimes defeat boss, return to town, repeat.

Not quite. 18 hours was the minimum amount of time for beating them, getting 100% could take around 30-35 hours.

COMING SOON: .hack//GU (announced) .hack Online (announced) both will be released in Japan by December.
