Ailes de Velour
This was a popular thread on a completely different board, so I thought I'd start one here. You post the list of albums that you keep in your CD Case (or iPod, seeing as how they're all the rage nowadays) and anytime you get something new, add that to your list. But you don't have to repost the whole list. I have three CD cases, not all of them are full, but those make up my "iPod." Nightwish - Century Child Into the Woods Original Cast Recording AFI - Sing the Sorrow AFI - Black Sails in the Sunset Nightwish - Once Helium Vola - Liod AFI - All Hallows EP Rasputina - Thanks For the Ether My Life's Soundtrack part 1 (compilation) My Life's Soundtrack part 2 (comp.) / Count the Stars - Never Be Taken Alive Placebo - Sleeping With Ghosts An anime Compilation Random 20-XY (compilation) Underoath - They're Only Chasing Safety Projekt: The New Face of Goth J-Pop/J-Rock Compilation Yet another compilation with some songs that don't belong anywhere Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends Punk Goes Acoustic Alchemy~ (Goth/Metal compilation) Siouxsie and the Banshees - Twice Upon a Time: The Singles AWEXOME TUNAGE (compilation) The Phantom of the Opera Motion Picture Soundtrack The Used - In Love and Death Dead Can Dance - A Passage Through Time AFI - The Art of Drowning Nightwish - Over the Hills and Far Away Evanescence - Fallen .hack//LIMINALITY OST .hack//SIGN OST 2 InuYasha OST 2 I don't think that's everything, but I can't find my other CD case so I can't confirm the whole collection. x,x;;

Mitch
To be honest, this is a rather dull thread. Just posting a list is boring. In my moderator-esque lamentations, I'd say everyone should at least explain a few CDs they've got in their CD cases - just give an anecdote about it, some little story; or, just say what's great about the CD that makes it worth being in your CD case. The Police - Every Breath You Take the Classics John Lennon - Lennon Legend AFI - Sing the Sorrow Mastodon - Leviathan Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antarctica Wilco - A Ghost Is Born Metallica - St. Anger Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News Coheed and Cambria - In Keeping Secrets of the Silent Earth Radiohead - Kid A Chrono Trigger - Chrono Trigger Soundtrack Say Anything - . . .Is a Real Boy Deftones - Deftones Bright Eyes - Digital Ash in a Digital Urn The Dresden Dolls - The Dresden Dolls Led Zeppelin - Latter Days Led Zeppelin - Early Days Led Zeppelin - How the West Was Won (CD 1) Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral Bad Religion - The Empire Strikes First Parasite Eve - Parasite Eve OST A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon Coldplay - X&Y Coldplay - Parachutes Muse - Absolution Radiohead - Hail to the Thief Radiohead - Amnesiac Radiohead - Com Lag Radiohead - Pablo Honey The White Stripes - Elephant Damien Rice - O System of a Down - Toxicity Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks Beck - Guero Radiohead - The Bends Tool - Aenema Metallica - Master of Puppets Korn - Untouchables Butthole Surfers - Electriclarryland Pink Floyd - A Momentary Lapse of Reason Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights Marilyn Manson - Antichrist Superstar AFI - The Art of Drowning tweaker - 2 a.m. wake-up call Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot System of a Down - Mesmerize Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head Pink Floyd - The Wall R.E.M - Out of Time Thursday - War All the Time Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals Rush - 2112 Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth Pixies- Bossanova Pixies - Doolittle The Doors - The Doors Legacy For those who wonder, this isn't even all the music CDs I own. There's still more, but it's just not in a CD case. Anyway, you'll notice I've got a lot of Radiohead. Radiohead's an excellent band, and for those who've not heard them, you really need to check them out. Also, Turn on the Bright Lights by Interpol is an excellent album too, and so are so many other albums I've got here. AFI's Sing the Sorrow was good, but I enjoy The Art of Drowning a lot more. A lot of people don't seem to have heard their older stuff, so if you want to listen to some of their older stuff, go for The Art of Drowning. Also, Wilco is an excellent band if you've not heard of them. I'd say you should get A Ghost Is Born if you want to get into them. Pixies, too, are wonderful - an '80's band that's recently rebanded together. They're excellent. If you want me to give you my opinion of any CD I've got here, just ask. I'll talk about any. Ailes de Velour
More I forgot: Five Iron Frenzy - The End is Here (Live) Five Iron Frenzy - The End is Near In a requested attempt to liven things up... Just the story behind my super special Into the Woods broadway soundtrack. The day I bought it had all ready been a lot of fun for me. The Music Performance Assessment for my chorus, a carnival for my old elementary school, and I had over 40 dollars saved up (doesn't happen often.) So, that night, my dad took me to Borders. I browsed the manga for a while, took a step over to look at some real books, then headed over to the music. At first, I couldn't think of anything I wanted, but then I found Five Iron Frenzy's last CD. I could afford it of course, and I had plenty money left, so I decided to look for something else, too. Then I thought about an Into the Woods soundtrack. I didn't think they'd have it, since they didn't stock the actual broadway DVD. But I looked in the soundtracks anyway, and it was surprisingly easy to find. I was so excited, I was speechless. I walked stiff legged to the front of the store, bought my items, and sang the soundtrack in the car on the way home. Yummy. Actually, the only CDs that I own that I bought with my own money are AFI - All Hallows EP, Nightwish - Once, um...the two FIF CDs, Into the Woods broadway soundtrack...eh...that's it. Everything else is burned from friends. I don't buy a lot of CDs.

Jake of Bodom
I have all the Underoath, TBS, and AFI cd's (and some albums). Most of it's great stuff, I just think you need a little more of an open mind, Jake. :)
I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm being closed-minded for not liking any of that. You see, my brother is an AFI fan. I've heard every single song off every single album by them multiple times and tried to get into them. I have actual reasons behind my dislike for them (bland song structure, (IMO) annoying vocals, monotonous changes throughout entire albums, etc.). As for Underoath, I have countless friends who love the band. I've heard every album, if not every song individually. For example, I can say that my favorite albums of theirs are Acts of Depression and Cries of the Past. I never voice an opinion about a band without knowing about it first. Ever. If you take a look at my CD listing, you'll see that my tastes are quite eclectic. If I were closed-minded, I wouldn't like half of that stuff. I just don't like AFI or Underoath. Shinmaru
Here goes. I have a lot more music on CDs than I do on my computer. These aren't in alphabetical order, because I'm not really picky about that when it comes to CDs for some reason. Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf The Pillows - FLCL OST No. 3 Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antarctica Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth The Beatles - 1967-1970 The Beatles - The White Album The Beatles - Past Masters The Beatles - One Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation Sonic Youth - Washing Machine Sonic Youth - A Thousand Leaves Sonic Youth - Sonic Nurse Nirvana - Nevermind Nirvana - In Utero Nirvana - Unplugged in New York The White Stripes - Elephant Scarling - Sweet Heart Dealer Muse - Origin of Symmetry Muse - Showbiz Muse - Absolution Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand David Bowie - Greatest Hits Vol. 1 At the Drive-In - Acrobatic Tenement At the Drive-In - In-Casino-Out At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command Big Black - Songs About ******* Curve - Cuckoo Curve - Doppleganger Millencolin - Home From Home Misfits - Famous Monsters Pixies - Come On, Pilgrim Pixies - Surfer Rosa Pixies - Doolittle Pixies - Bossanova Pixies - Trompe Le Monde Pixies - Complete B-Sides The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow Ween - Chocolate and Cheese You Am I - The Cream and the Crock Marilyn Manson - Antichrist Superstar Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals The Amps - Pacer Eagles of Death Metal - Peace Love Death Metal Explosions In the Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place Holopaw - Holopaw Jack Off Jill - Sexless Demons and Scars Jack Off Jill - Clear Hearts Grey Flowers The Jesus and Mary Chain - 21 Singles And I have some mix CDs here and there. Pixies seem to be represented the most in my CD case. I love them. They're my second favorite band behind Sonic Youth. I'd recommend picking up any of their albums, though I enjoy Surfer Rosa and Trompe Le Monde the most. I like The Beatles a lot, but I don't have many of their main albums in my CD collection for some reason... I guess I just like picking up the random collections more. Just about everything I own falls into the vague 'rock' category, but there's still a nice bit of variety throughout, I think. I don't know that any of these bands sound very much like each other lol.
