Live 8

I guess this is probably going to be a pretty big talking point on here, so I thought I'd get in there first with a thread. What I'm wanting to know is: did you have Live 8 in your country, and if you didn't did you watch it on TV, but if you did, then who played?

Here in England, we probably made the biggest deal of it. We had Paul McCartney and U2, Coldplay, Razorlight, Velvet Revolver, Madonna, Robbie Williams, Snow Patrol, followed by the biggies at the end of the evening: The Who and Pink Floyd.

Overall, I thought the Live 8 show in London was absolutely amazing. Some of the bands put on the best performances I've seen by them, and they really pulled out all the stops to make it something special.

We didn't get a Live 8 concert of our own in New Zealand, so I watched some of the concert on TV

It was hard to watch it live, because it started 2AM over here, but I got a few tapes together to catch what I had to sleep through.

We got a mixture of performances from all Live 8 concerts, the performances I liked most were those from Coldplay, Robbie Williams, The Who, Snoop Dogg and Madonna.

Madonna's set was particularly interesting since she happened to share the stage with a woman saved from funds raised by Live Aid, it was quite a nice little moment.

I liked what I've seen from Live 8 so far, out of the performances I haven't got around to seeing yet, I'm lookinf forward to Pink Floyd's reformation most.

I enjoyed watching Live 8 in the comfort of my own living room, here in the U.S. of A. I couldn't really get to Philadelphia (or however you spell it) by the time I saw the Live 8 advertisements.

My only problem was that I missed half the show. I had to go shopping. :animeangr

Unfortunately, I never really paid much attention to who was playing where, but I think I remember Kanye West singing "Diamonds" in Phili. I know for a fact, though, Green Day played in Berlin.

I'm pretty sure there wasn't one in Australia, but I watched some of it on tv, the one in London.

The fact that Pink Floyd joined back up, just to perform at the Live8, is pretty much the only reason I watched it in the first place.
