I think it's a great game. It's one of my favorite multi-player games. I'm not very good at it, but it's very enjoyable. I used to be a part of the online clan "The Fall3n", I was known as Frag Doll. Now I'm just a loner on Halo. Does anyone else play it?

I play it from time to time. I'm not able to play it everyday because of my schedule and because some nights I just wouldn't take it seriously. I'm the overlord of clan Hucklebuck and I have a few other overlords help me keep it in order. Its set up so that even if I became inactive that other overlords and members would keep the clan active. That way I can play whenever I want without the worry that people will start leaving if I don't play.

MY advice to future clan members? Don't make staff positions as they can promote others to overlord. And you can't remove overlords unless they willingly quit. Many a clan dissolve because of this. Only make Overlords and Members/Peons to keep it under control.

Halo is one game I'm obsessed with. the online gamming in just phenomenal. I'm a regular when it comes to playing online. I'm well known as Kanto King though I am a girl. And no the name isn't from pokemon. lol

I'm actually staff of a clan called THE ARYAN RACE. (Yes I know a racist name...) Last night a few people got invited to the clan and tried to destroy the clan's rank. We went down two levels before we noticed what was going. Luckily a bunch of the staff members were online and they were kicked out within seconds. All I have to say is that if you make someone staff or overlord, make sure you trust the people. If you can't completely trust the person's skills then make them peon and not members. Members can start clan matches on their own and lose terribly.

I've been playing a lot recently actually. It really is a fun game to play online and while sometimes, stuff happens that can be really annoying (like sticking a sword through someone without them dieing), it doesn't happen often enough to really degrade from the game.

I do have a quick question though. The title of this thread is Halo: Combat Evolved and the general topic seems to be Halo 2. Did we just go off topic or was this supposed to be for Halo 2?

As for the original Halo, I thought that was really a great game. It was just generally fun to play and was far from the ordinary shooter (in terms of looks anyway). Playing through it on Legendary was a bit easier than doing so in Halo 2 also so that made for some fun but still challenging cooperative playthroughs.

Halo>>>>>>Halo 2

The first Halo has great memories for me. me and 7 of my friends clogged into my basement to play lan matches, lol. Other then that, Halo was more about skill, as everyone started with the best weapon, the pistol. You had to worry more about reflexes and aim. In Halo 2 the weapons are so unbalanced, it makes the game a big race for the rocket or the sniper.

This is multiplayer-wise by the way.
Halo was more about skill, as everyone started with the best weapon, the pistol.
I'm not sure how starting with the best weapon shows you have skill. True skill comes when you have a terrible weapon but still manage to do well. Sure, Halo 2 is a rush for the rockets, sword, and sniper but that in itself takes some skill too. You have to know the fastest way to get there and then if you're beaten, you need to know how to get back what you just lost.

Unbalanced weapons are natural. The game would be terrible if the pistol and rocket launcher did the same damage. Of course some are better than others but it's really a matter of what you are good with. If you can do well no matter what weapon you're using, that's skill - not starting with the best weapon right at the beginning.

And to confirm that, there are training matches on Xbox live in Halo 2 in which you can play some pretty random game types. One of them is Rumble Rockets (which you may actually be able to get in ranked games too). Now you said it takes skill for everyone to start with the best weapon right? Well Rumble Rockets takes no skill whatsoever. You run around and fire at whatever moves. Then, you get blown up out of nowhere. Do you see what I'm getting at?
