It boasts the greatest speed of the entire 1st fleet and is by far the largest. Outfitted with the latest cannons and firearm technology, the Dauntless is incredibly dangerous and feared throughout the sea as the Meran Army's "Wooden Dragon." It's large white sails trimmed with the signature red lining of the Meran, it can be seen from great distances without the use of a telescope. The inside is luxurious and has an incredible amount of space to carry even the largest of Meran troops and their equipment over any stretch of sea. Now in the hands of the pirate Captain Red, the ship sways softly in the docks of the Middleton harbor awaiting the return of it's infamous pilot. (for a more detailed explanation of the Dauntless, click here) The Prologue I couldn't believe how the news had spread of my theft of the great Meran ship. There were posters everywhere offering outrageous rewards for any information concerning the ship or the whereabouts of a tall red-haired man. Luckily I'd aquired a bandana and my hair had yet to be seen by any residents of Middleton. However, it wouldn't be long before the ship was reported, and I had to be gone by then. Red walked from a crowded a grocery stand, numerous spices and food materials cluttered the bags he carried in each hand. He found the people of Middleton to be easy prey to thieving and aquired more then enough money to cover his expenses. The problem would be the aquisition of a crew. Sure, Middleton was full of talented fishermen, thieves, gunman, people of all sorts, but who would be rebellious enough to join his crew on the Dauntless? He returned to the ship with all the supplies and dropped them off quickly to Juri and left once again in search of adequate members to join up. Explanation This post is simply meant to begin the RP and get this thing going. The Prologue is merely a chance to introduce your character and tell how you joined the crew. Tell what you were doing before joining the crew, how you joined the crew, and anything after you board the ship for the first time. This includes the decoration of your room, touring the ship, meeting the NPC's, anything you'd like. As more and more people join the crew and board the ship you'll have more people to interact with so the later posts will have more people to use in their posts, however the first couple will be the very first to join the crew and probably the closest to Red since he found them first. Keep in mind the order of the posts and how you want your character to develop throughout the story while posting. Your Journal This is purely optional. As you've seen in both my posts so for there is italic font placed before the actual story begins. This can be either a writing before the events of the day, anticipating what might happen or your initial feelings towards another character, or it can be after the events of the day looking back on things you've done and whats happened. Mine is placed after the journey and your's can be the same as well, it's merely a way to elaborate on your writing and create anticipation for the reader before actually posting your part of the story. As I said before, it's optional and you can do it every now and then, before every post, or not at all, it's your choice. Final Thoughts I've accepted everyone who posted a sign-up because they were all really good. I trust each and every one of you to make this RP as great as I know it can be. After everyone has posted for the prologue we'll begin our journey and things will speed up. demonchild781
Maris bit down into the tender apple in her hand as she walked along the docks. In her other hand was a single back that seemed rather lightly packed. She swung it over her shoulder to disperse the weight a bit as she passed the many people on the wooden docks. Her heeled boats made a bit of racket as she passed both men and women along her journey. "Maris? Where you off to?" A man called from one of the small tent shops. The tall woman took one more bite of her apple and casted it into the salty waters of the sea. She licked her lips and carelessly wiped them clean with her wrist as she approached the tent. Under the cool shade of the cloth over top, Maris looked over the variety of rank smelling fish before her. "Ye should wear such clothes with your appearance." The man said with a hint of warning in it. Maris smiled and looked up at him. She was dressed in loose trousers that had been died a dark green. Her leather boots sprung up from her feet and over the green material of her trousers to create a pillow-like look to them. Her hair was drapped down her muscled back, gently blowing in the salty wind. Her top was a simple white top, barely covering her well-toned stomach and back with a leather cursit holding her breast up. When bending over, it seems as though the well defined woman would fall out, being that there was particually nothing to the top of her shirt what-so-ever, but some how she managed to stay in. "Now why would you say such things, Morris?" Maris said playfully, batting her eyes and giving him a very innocent look. "Don't mock me, child." The man said bitterly and Maris wave a hand at him with discontent. "You take me far too seriously, Morris. You should learn to lighten up." Maris reached up and pulled a small string of fruits for the top of the tent. "And you need to learn how to respect your elders, my dear." Morris said as he snatched the string from her. "And where do you think you're off too?" "Searching for buried treasure." Maris smiled brightly as she placed a hand on her hip. "And where do you plan on getting a ship from?" He said. She pointed to the massive ship in the port and said, "I've decided to join the one newest to our shores." "I don't think it wise, Maris." The man shook a finger at him as he walked over to the other corner to help a customer. "You never think anything is wise, Morris. But I wish for adventure! To see what is out there!" Maris threw her free arm out to elebrate how much she was exiceted. "Now Maris," the Morris said as he walked back over to her. "You know what the world's like. Your safest here." "Morris." Maris said sternly as she started to walk back into the sun. "I want more than I life of killing and revenge. I want to sail the upon seas and search for hidden treasure. Maybe a man will swip me off my feet." She winked and the man chuckled. "Ah, Maris. Still as fool-hearty as ever." He smiled and shook his head. "Go, go and see what trouble you can stir up." He waved her off. "I'll be seein ya, old man." She called back as she started down the pier towards the ship called the Dauntless. Maris looked up at the massive ship as she made her way past the people about the pier. The salt filled air was all too familiar as she made her way up the ramp to the ship. "Halt! Who be ye?" yelled a short man from the ship. "Dorian Maris. I've come to join your crew." Maris shouted up to him. He looked to his side, seemed to be saying something and then motioned for her to come up. She made her way up the long ramp and onto the deck. She could not believe her eyes--the ship was massive! She had been on ships before, but they were toy boats compared to this one. "My name is Ginger." A rather gorgeous woman walked up to Maris and extended her hand. "Dorian Maris, you can call me Maris." Maris smiled, taking the woman's hand and shaking. "Welcome, Maris, to the Dauntless. Would you like me to show you around?" "That would be great." Maris nodded as she looked up at the massive sails that had been pulled and wrapped around the differenting masses. "First time on a ship?" Ginger said as they started to walk along the deck. "No, but I've never seen anything like this." "She's one of a kind." Ginger smiled as they continued along their tour. ********************** Maris flung her small bag onto the large bed that was pressed up against a wall. It was made and looked rather inviting at the moment. Maris smiled as she took the rest of the room in. It was simple, but she liked it. Nothing too over the top or too plain. It could do with a few rugs and some priceless treasures before it truly became her room. Maris dug through her bag and pulled out a small leather book and tossed it onto the desk as she searched for her ink and pen. Sitting down, Maris made a quick entry: The Dauntless is beyond all expectations. The ship holds more rooms and floors then I could possibly imagine. The crew here before me seem well mannered enough and Ginger is a fine girl. The garden and armory were...endescribable. I can see that I will enjoy my stay aboard this visle for some time. Maris closed the book with her pen stuck in it where she left off as she stood. She looked about quickly before exiting her quarters and making her way back on deck to meet the rest of the crew. OOC: Hope this was ok.
Chisoku
What was that those people were talking about? Oh, I believe I remember, it was about a Meran ship being stole. Who ever stole it must be pretty good, at basically everything. If I recall correctly they said something about it being called the ?Wooden Dragon? due to it?s amazing size. Perhaps it is good enough for the Meran Government. Well, I best be on my way.? His beloved spear rested in his grip, he stepped out of a local inn. The soft breeze blew through the town of Middleton, stirring his sand-ish hair. It?s local inhabitants went on with their daily lives, chatting about the news, buying groceries. It seem to be a town with out much trouble. Tai raised his arm?s, stretching in the crisp air, it seemed to awaken something inside of him. Stepping softly through the town, his feet always ready for fast movement. Maneuvering his spear in the crowded areas, he does not want to hurt anyone intentionally, unless he had too. ?Ha ha, come back here!? A girl charged in front of him. Tai stopped suddenly, seeing that she was chasing a boy around the same age. As he raised his head, a tall figure loomed above everyone else, the bandana the person was wearing, hid the hair underneath. Interested, Tai swiftly walked close to the man, leaning against a grocery stand, he studied the figure. He was obviously well built, the way he carried himself showed that he was a man of power and responsibility. The man started walking away, Tai followed, mainly due to the bandana. Staying well behind, he noticed that every once in the while, the person would stop and glance around, if looking for something. Tai stopped suddenly as he glanced to his right. In the Middleton Harbors, a ship of massive size, swaying back and forth had brought him to a stop. He had glanced the ship as he was following the strange man, so he had to take another glance. It?s mass was amazing, the way it floated showed that it was a fast ship. Sail?s flapped lazily in the wind, sea gulls gracefully soared over head. The sight was breath taking, standing there, he took in the amazing sight. Deciding that he would follow the man he seen earlier, he glanced around eventually seeing the bandana moving down another street. Quickly, although with out bringing to much attention to him. The Man suddenly stopped, turning around, their eye?s met. Neither made a sign that they would look away. Instead, the figure smiled, walking towards him. ?Hello, how are you today?? Smiling, the man extended his hand.. ?The name is John Harvey, owner of the ship over there.? ?I am doing fine? The name is Tai Koshi.? Each was looking to the others eyes, eventually Tai extended his hand, both seemed to understand the other. ?Would you perhaps like to join my Crew?? John smiled and started easing Tai to his ship. So my journey begun? OOC: I hope that is okay, I was not sure if I should go on to the ship. Anyway, I believe the Role Play is going to do well.
Pumpkin
I never thought it would end like this....they use to tell me banishment was the end....I knew one day it would come for me...but not like this...not ever like this..to run from the past is expected...but can you really hide from it forever? Fearing...for you know....confronting the past is evident. It was raining. The water washed the sweat that dripped on her face, and the sounds of shouting could be heard echoing over the cliffs. She could still feel the heat of fire on her back and the shouts of the angry villagers as they chased her. It was freezing. Katara struck a match and lit some beach wood on fire, it was the only thing she could do to keep from freezing to death. Shivering, she curled up in a ball in the sand and tried to get some rest, she knew she would be stuck in this cave till morning and had to get out before the tide came. "Mila...sister..I hope your watching over me. I miss you." were her final thoughts before everything began to fade and the rain begun to stop. Morning arose, and with that Katara had a big appitate. She caught some fish and ate it with seaweed, not the most delicious course, but it satisfied her stomache. She packed the leftovers into her bandana where she had packed a few household items just before her house was burnt down. She dug through her belongings A knife, her diary, a compass, a map and a locket of her and her dead older sister, Mila Adrias.. They had always looked alike, but were never twins although mistaken to be majority of the time. "I promise somehow I'll make this up to you. Your name will not be tarnished any longer." Katara said outloud promising to herself. She flung the bandana full of belongings over her shoulder and began to walk. She would now begin her new life. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sixteen years later.... Katara had stumbled across the mediocre town of Middleton. Middleton was known as a town where smugglers like to travel, she didn't like to steal, but she was a little short on cash for the moment and did not feel like doing another stressful job. " Ah work was so hectic, it's actually nice to get a break for once. I seriously need to have some fun. " said Katara to herself, she yawned and glanced at a fruit stand. It had tangerines, peaches, pears, and lots of delicious goodies that would go well for a nights meal on the road. She devised a plan to get them by stuffing one of the watermelons under her shirt to look as though she were with child and let her hair out from it's ponytail. As she was making her way to the fruit stand, she overheard some upperclass ladies gossipying about a stolen Meran ship. She shook her head and began talking with the seller. "Oh dear me, I seem to have dropped my purse." Katara said, so it wasn't the smartest trick in the book, but the guy seemed as dumb as a doorknob. It worked and as he bent down, she stuffed the rest of her shirt with many fruits. "Here you go m'am. Don't want you to bend down in that condition."He mumbled dumfounded, obviously not the brightest guy in Middleton. "Oh dear, guess I'll have to come back later." replied Katara as she began to turn around but bumped into a stranger with a red bandana on his head. The watermelon slipped from underneath her shirt and splattered on the floor. "Imposter!" shouted the seller and grabbed Katara by her wrist. Before he could say another word however, the man in the bandana spoke up, "Dear sister, how could you leave without taking your medication? Excuse me sir, for she is very sick in the head. My name is John Hervey. I've been searching for her forever, excuse me for anything she has broken here.". Katara stared in shoke for he obviously knew how to cover up and she certainly did not want to go to jail for theft so played along. "No problem. Just keep an eye on her next time."stated the fruit seller and let go of Katara's hand. But before she got a chance to thank the mysterious man, he was already walking away. "Wait..Um..John! Right?" Kitara shouted trying to keep up with him. "I never got to say thank you for saving me back there...." She commented trying to get him to stop walking. "No problem. I bumped into you, it's my fault. Think nothing of it really. The names John Hervey if you didn't catch that. And who may I ask are you?" asked John, stopping once to look at her. She paused. It had been a long time since she had even talked to someone or given a real name, this time she was sure of what she had to do. "My name is Mila....Mila Adrias." replied Mila humbly. "Pleasure to meet you Mila."exclaimed John. And she has been called Mila since.... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I followed John only to find out that the gossip had been true. The Meran ship had been stolen, and by Red the mysterious man I had talk to earlier. He's kind but stern, and he would make a great captain someday. I could only hope I could do my dear sister some justice. My name would be known forever as Mila Adrias, and people would know and fear my name. I only met two of the other crewmates. Maris and Tai. I still felt like an outcast between the two even though we got along quite fine. How little I knew of what was to unfold in the future...and my adventure would truely begin... OOC: This may seem confusing of why her name changed. Check out her history in sign-ups to further understand this. Hope it's not too long.
Kitty
"It's strange.. I've been on my own for a while now, and I never felt that I need anyone ever again. I was so free living on the streets, by my own rules. I was always so precise with my thievery. I thought it would take me great places. But, as it turned out, one slip up led to the greatest adventure I could have imagined." -- A young girl jolted upright from her raggedy stolen pillow, her dirty blanket, that was becoming too small, thrown to the other end of the alley. The faded light of the morning was slowly beginning to reach her hidden bed. Cold sweat decorated her young face, soon to be accompanied by a few tears. It was the nightmare. It had interrupted her dreams of becoming the greatest thief in all of the world again, and reminded her of memories she'd rather forget. She shook herself free of the last sounds she could hear, and began to slowly calm down. "Don't worry Nik," she muttered, wiping the tears away. "Just a dream. Don't worry about it.." She got on her knees and crawled over to her blanket, grabbed it, and placed it under her pillow neatly, then stood up awkwardly to dust herself off before leaving to do a "grocery run". -- Nikki rushed through the large crowd of people that filled the port that day. She peered over her shoulder to see if her persuer was still, in fact, persuing her at all. When she couldn't see hair nor hide of him, she slowed, panting slightly after her long dash. She giggled to herself as she pulled a bag of apples from her jacket. Taking one out, she examined it to make sure it wasn't bruised. "I was sloppy today. He saw me.. If he catches me, I'm toast," she said to herself, taking another glance back over her shoulder. The apple looked fine, so she pulled it up to her mouth to eat it. But before she took a bite, she felt herself collide with someone. She was sent backwards onto the cobblestone that paved the streets of Middleton Port. She rubbed her elbow, which had felt most of the fall, then realized she'd dropped the apples. Turning her head, she saw them rolling about all over the street. "My apples!" she cried, scrambling to pick them up. But soon, an army of feet and legs stomped between her and her prize. Flustered and bruised, she was about to yell at the guy when she rolled over to see a young man holding out his hand for her. She hesitated, but put her hand in his and he lifted her up. "Thanks.." she began, her eyes locked on him. The man she had bumped into was quite handsome, and reminded her somewhat of her brother. When he asked her if she was alright, she blinked herself back to reality. She pulled her hand back from his, standing silently for a moment. "Thanks a lot! You just made me spill a week's lunch!" she shouted. "Sorry, again. You were in quite a rush back there. Running from someone?" the man asked her. "Yeah. But I do everytime I get my meals. Well.. I do it all the time, actually. Whenever I get anything. I've tried getting clothes from the tailor, but I'd have to pay to place the order and it's such a big hassle, and..." she trailed off, spotting the familiar face of the grocer she had stolen her apples from. "Uh-oh.." she mumbled. "What is it?" the man asked, glancing from her to the man pushing through the crowd of people. "I-I gotta go. If he catches me, he'll.. He'll.. Who knows what he'll do to me before sending me to the jail! Have you ever been in the Middleton jail?! It's full of pigs! They'd tear me apart t-the moment I g-get there," she stammered, taking a few steps forward. "Come with me," the man offered. "With you? Who are you, anyway?" she asked, feeling a bit hesitant. "Call me Red. Now come with me if you want to dodge your friend here," he smiled, nodding his head in the direction of the fast approaching grocer. "A-Alright," she agreed. He held up his hand, and she took it happily. He then began to push through the opposing force of the crowd, pulling her along behind him. They swam through the current of people for a short time before approaching a large building. Maybe the largest in the Port. "Ah! Here's a good place," Red called back. She looked up at a large sign that read, "Charlie's Bar and Inn". She had been in the Inn before, but only to look around. Charlie, the owner of the inn, was a kind old man that tolerated her and even let her stay the nights free occasionally. She returned his kindness with respect and not stealing or causing trouble. Red approached the man behind the bar. "Do you think I could get a table?" he asked politely. "Sure. Take any seat ya want. Oh. Hey there Nik," the man added, spotting the girl attached to Red. "Hey Liam," she replied, smiling wide. Red glanced at her, then proceeded to grab himself a table. She sat down across from him. "Your name's Nik?" he asked. "Well, some people call me Nik, others call me Nikki." "Ah.. Nikki's a nice name," he smiled. Nikki felt her cheeks turn red. "Tell me Nikki.. You said you stole as a living. How skilled are you? And do you know much about stealing?" "Know something? Red, I'm the best thief in all of Middleton. I was just careless today is all. Why do you want to know?" she added, curious as to why he had asked her. "My crew is out at the docks on my ship, and--" he began, but was cut off. "You have a ship? Are you.. Are you a pirate?!" she cried eagerly. As her excitement grew, her thoughts began to race as well. The first thing she wondered was why she hadn't thought of him as a pirate when she first met him, seeing how he was dressed and all. Red glanced around at the others in the bar, some of whom were staring at the two of them. "Well, yes. But if you would be quieter about it.." "Oh.. Right, sorry," she replied, her cheeks turning pinker. "As I was saying, my crew is out at the docks, but it's rather small. I've been looking for crew mates, and someone with your skill would be quite useful," he began. Nikki's heart was pounding. Today, having started out so rotten, was turning out to be one of the best of her life. She was about to be asked a question she had dreamt about being asked for years. "Nikki.. Would you like to join my crew?" he asked, standing up from his seat. "Hmm? Me? Become a pirate?" she repeated, stunned that he had actually asked the question. "Yup. Like I said, my crew is small and could use someone with your skills," he repeated. Her cheeks were a beet red by now, but she didn't care. She was so delighted. She'd always admired pirates, and now he was asking her to become one of his crew. "Yes! I'd love to!" she shouted with glee. Jumping up, she hugged him tightly. But she let go quickly, realizing that he hadn't expected it. "Uh.. Sorry.." she mumbled, terribly embarrassed about her overreaction. "N-No problem," he replied, scratching his head before chuckling awkwardly. "Okay Nikki. Let's head to the docks. I'd like to show you your new home." -- Red had directed Nikki towards the docks, then left to find more crew members, though she had wanted to stay with him longer. He was the kindest person she'd met in the years that her brother had been gone, aside from Charlie. A new bag she had picked up before leaving was slung over her shoulder, filled with only her pillow, and a few items she'd had in her alley. The jacket she dawned blew slightly as a strong gust blew through the docks. The boats rocked back and forth as she approach the Dauntless. It had been impressive from far away, but up close it was fantastic. She couldn't believe that it was the boat she was going to be living on from now on. "Amazing.." she mumbled. "Hello there! New recruit?" came a loud voice from above. Nikki's glance snapped from the gigantic mast to the face of a young woman. She was hesitant, but called up a 'yes' in reply. "Come on up then! I'll show you around," the woman beamed. Nikki looked at the ramp that led up to the deck of the enormous boat. She took a few slow steps forward, then ran up the rest of the way, the excitement speeding her up again. The woman chuckled. "Hi. I'm Ginger," she smiled. "Nikki. You can call me Nik, though," she added abruptly. "Okay Nik. I'll take you below deck and show you to the rooms. You can pick whichever you want, as long as no one else has taken it already that is." -- "I met a myriad of people on my way to my room. Juri, the cook, was nice, but he was a tad busy. Hugo frightened me a bit, and he kept calling me a boy.. Ginger said that even though the two of us had just met, we were acting like siblings already. Hugo laughed loudly, slapping me hard on the shoulder. It hurt for a while afterwards, too. After meeting them, Ginger showed my the door to my room and went back above deck. Before I went in, a man brushed past me. I said hello, but he only glanced at me. I dropped my stuff inside, then came back out to meet the other ones who Ginger said had also recently been added to the crew." OOC: Hope you don't mind me using my snippit for part of my post Kamuro, but it had my meeting with Red in it. I did add Nikki's introduction to the other three players, and to the NPCs, so I thought it'd be okay. ^_^;
Dragon Warrior
Heh, say, Pumpkin... is Abu hiding in there somewhere? ;) ------------ What is this? I don't do personal thoughts... "What? Empty? I just filled it." "Listen, I pay you, you give me drinks... I don't want to see the bottom of this glass, savvy?" The bartender scowled and took the mug. "Aye," he muttered as he filled it with more grog. The tavern was rowdy as usual and the shouting was a constant pain in many drunk's heads. The ominous resonance was enough to make one insane. Especially the man who has had a little too much to drink. After making the bartender give him more grog in his sinful mug, he finally passed out and Dartanian took his seat at the counter. "Rum," Dart mumbled under his breath. The bartender couldn't quite hear what he said, but Dart's face was dark and sneering, so he dared not question. Instead, he made a wild guess and poured a mug of rum. Lucky choice this time. This was around the time Red entered the tavern looking for able bodied men. When he found one he thought would be useful, he asked them for their aid. When they turned down his offer for their assistance, he'd move onto another. Eventually, he was in Dartanian's ear-range, so he heard it all. It was of no interest to him, though. Dart's sailing days were over. But the sea's air rushed through the door and was calling to him. That lovely sea air. It wasn't until Red already left that he decided he'd take his leave from the drunk-infested bar and follow his feet to the docks. Red arrived at the docks a little while later to check back with the ship, but was intercepted by Dartanian. "Yer the captain of The Dauntless, aye?" Red looked queerly at Dartanian. "Aye. Are you here to join my crew?" "If the price is right." "How's Longhorn's treasure sound?" "I'm intrigued." Dart turned to the ship, then back to Red. "I don't have much to lose to join you. I have more to gain, in fact. And I need to come out of hiding eventually. I must be long forgotten by now." "Oh? Who are you?" "Dartanian Thatcher." "Hm, sounds familiar." Red rubbed his chin. "Did you pillage the island of Sospero?" "I may have. Then again, that's a hot spot for pirate attacks." "True. Well, come, I'll bring you to the Dauntless." The Dauntless was exquisite, this is true, but Dartanian didn't feel quite right until they finally set sail. He was pleased enough to be on a ship's deck again, though. Red seemed like the captainly fellow, but he hoped he sailed like Dartanian once did. But from how Red acted, Dart had a feeling it wouldn't be a method far off his own. The two returned from the lower deck to the main deck and were greeted by a sudden gust of wind. "The winds are ready for sailing," Dartanian observed. "Are you?" "Not yet. I shall return shortly after I find more crewmates." Red smiled and then glanced to Dart's side as he saw Ginger come up from below deck. "Ah, Dartanian, this is Ginger." Dart turned to see the most whimsical woman he had ever laid eyes on. There was a moment where he stood still before elegantly taking her hand to kiss it. "A pleasure." Most likely not used to such treatment, Ginger returned an odd smile. "The same?" "I shall be back," Red interrupted and with that, he left again. "I must help the others," Ginger informed. "Please, make yourself comfortable." "Thank you, Ms. Ginger," Dart said before she returned down below the deck. The air danced through Dart's long, mangy hair. Then he enjoyed the feel of the breeze against his open shirt. Of course, this is when he realized his clothing wasn't top notch anymore. "And with a lady aboard," he muttered. He dashed off the ship with some money he plundered from a large woman in the bar and made his way to a tailor to fit himself some new garments to suit the voyage. Who Am I?
"Hey! Come back here!" Brett shouted as a man ran with a sack of potatoes over his shoulder. "My dear child, you shouldn't. It's fine. I'll go buy another one." Ma patted Brett's back. "No! I'm gonna get it for you!" Brett ran. "My child! Come back!" Brett ran.. through the streets, around the corners, across the docks, and then... "Got ya!!!" Brett yelled. "No way! I ain't giving these to ya!" A man in his early 30's looked at him. "Why not?" "I'm hungry." "So? My Ma and Pa worked hard for them and you should too." "Ah child. You shouldn't mock me!!!" "Mock you?" "Yah! You heard meh." Brett scratched his head... Mocked him??? "Then you gotta fight meh." "Whatever." Brett took a fighting pose as well. "Aaarrrrggghh!!!" The man shouted and dived. "You missed!! Haha..." The man swung his fist over and over again and he kept missing everytime. "Yo! Old man.. never call me a 'child'.. only my Ma calls me that!" The man panted. "You never take these.." "Come on. Hand it over." "NOOOO!!" The ran towards Brett and put out a fist. WHAMMM!!!! Brett struck out a leg and the man went flying. "It was better when I told you to hand it over." Brett smirked. The man crawled. "No..." Brett rolled his eyes. He took the bag and handed him one potato. "Here.. Please don't go stealing other people's food." "Thanks..." Brett took the sack over his shoulders and turned around. "Well hi!" A tall man stood in front of him with red hair. "Hi?" Brett looked at him questioning. "Hi. I'm Red. Or that's what they call me." "Oh. I'm Brett. Nice to meet you." He looked at Brett. "I could use a fighter like you." "A fighter? Well I don't fight sir." "Well... the way you took down that man. You look like a fighter to me." "Oh." "How about joining my crew?" "Your crew??" Brett looked stunned. "Yeah my crew. We're gonna look for the Longhorn's treasure." "Wow." "So?? Are yah??" "Gotta check out something. Orcus
?Har, har, har! Good luck catching me, hunter! Yar should turn around now, afore I have to kill you as well!? They were at the docks, Blitz had managed to chase this pirate down here. Blitz stared at the man and snarled. This man, Jove of Insanity, had killed 20 people in one week, just to show off his strength. Blitz despised him. He wanted nothing more than for this man to die, and perish. But he had to bring him in. That was real justice. Murder was not. Jove sprang backwards and threw a dagger at Blitz. Blitz caught the dagger in front of him and chuckled mockingly. ?Did you think that would work? I?ve dodged bullets before you fool! Part of being a thief and a bounty hunter means being able to predict what your opponent will do, and reacting.? Blitz spun the dagger around and launched it at Jove. Jove slid to the side, dodging the dagger. He laughed. ?You speak powerful, bit ain?t got nuttin to back it up wit! Now I?ma teach you a lesson for tryin? my patience!? He attempted to jump forward but couldn?t. He was pinned to the wall behind him. Blitz ran forward and stood in front of Jove, smiling. He reached into a pouch and pulled out a small bomb. Blitz waved it in front of Jove and started walking backwards. ?Trying your patience? Don?t make me laugh. A cold-blooded killer like you doesn?t know what patience means. Not that it matters. You?ll have all the time you need to figure out what patience is in jail.? Jove raised an eyebrow and laughed cockily. ?Yar think yar can put meh in jail? Yar may ?ave me pinned, but I won?t go in without a fight! Yar think I?ll just let them drag me in?? Blitz smiled and nodded. ?Yup.? He threw the bomb in his hand at the floor in front of Jove. It exploded and a gas rose up from it. Jove struggled to resist it?s effect, but couldn?t. His eyes rolled back into his head and he passed out. Blitz smiled. He walked forwards and pulled the dagger from Jove?s sleeve. Jove?s limp body fell onto Blitz. Blitz snarled and pushed the body off. He looked off in the distance. Another one bites the dust...Wonder if Alyssa and Jordan are having as much luck as me... ?The police?ll be hear any moment now, eh?? Blitz spun around, assuming fighting stance. There was a man standing on top of the freight. A pirate, Blitz guessed by his attire. He eased up and smiled. "What can I do for you good sir? Are you in need of my services?? The man grinned and jumped down in front of Blitz. He extended his hand, a big grin spread on his face. ?The name?s John Hervey, but I go by Red, and that?s exactly why I?m here. Looking for crewmates for my ship. I?m going after Longhorn?s treasure, and I need good men.? Blitz?s eyes opened wide. Longhorn?s treasure? No one?s ever found that. My parents often spoke of that?I know it would make them proud if I were to find it?Red raised an eyebrow. ?Well, Mr. Blitz the Shadow Streak?? Blitz smiled and took Red?s hand, shaking it. ?Hell, why not. The pollice?ll be here any moment, as you said, so why don?t we talk over a couple drinks?? + + + + + Blitz and Red had walked away from the bar and Red brought Blitz to the docks to see the ship. Blitz stared in awe. Beautiful. The ship was amazing, he had never seen one like it, let alone been on one like it. Red tapped Blitz on the shoulder and told him to make himself at home, and that he would have to excuse him. He still needed to find recruits. Blitz nodded and walked aboard. He was greeted by a hand knocking him over. "Sorry there boy. Got a little to excited." A large man bent over and picked Blitz up. He pat him on the back and introduced himself as Hugo. Blitz liked him instantly. Anyone who can knock me over is good in my book. Blitz grinned and stuck out his hand, shaking Hugo's. Hugo put his arm around Blitz and dragged him over to a beautiful woman. Blitz was alomst lost for words when she stood in front of him. She's gorgeous. What's she doing on a pirate ship?... Hugo slapped him on the back and intoduced the lady as Ginger. She stuck her hand out. "A pleasure to meet you. Sorry if Hugo's been giving you trouble." Blitz shook her hand and smiled. "Nah. He'll be gving me trouble when he breaks my spine. My name's Kaine Retlale, but I go by Blitz. It's a pleasure to meet you Ginger." Hugo dragged Blitz off again before he could say anything else. Hugo walked a couple feet, stopped, then looked around. "Now where's that damned chef..." Blitz looked around and noticed a young girl standing around, looking confused. Must be new...like me... He slipped away from Hugo and walked over to her. "Hello. You a new recruit as well?" She smiled nervously and nodded. She slowly placed her hand out. "My name's Nicole Murphy. But you can call me Nik or Nikki." Blitz shook her hand and smiled widely. "My name's Kaine Retlale, though Blitz is the name I go by." He turned, looking at Hugo talking with Ginger. He was talking loudly with her, and she was trying to settle him down."Quite the interesting crew, no?" Nikki chuckled and nodded.
Revelation
Somehow, the life on the run in the streets isn?t enough. I feel as if the name ?Black Orchid? is no use to me any longer. What dreaded torment lingers in me that I must think this way? I was blessed by the previous Black Orchid to have been given this name and yet, here I am, standing here, looking across towards the endless ocean, thinking that I am not worthy of this name. What bloody terror is within me that I am this way? ?NO! Give it back to me! I need it!? Turning around, Black Orchid?s sharp ears picked up the cries of a young child. ?I need that money to go buy bread! Give it back to me!? ?HAH! What?re you going to do, you pig?s liver?? The laughter went on and on until the young child looked up and saw a shadow in the trees. It was then that the muggers looked up, as well. They noticed something move and pulled out their pistols. When the tree moved, the leader realized it was merely the wind and went back to harassing the child when suddenly the child stood up for himself. ?Give that back to me or else!? ?Or else what? What are you going to do?? The leader stood there laughing maliciously towards the child as the others counted the money. The Black Orchid grew impatient and stepped out of her hiding place. ?It?s not what he?s going to do but what I?ll do to you.? From the shadows, the Black Orchid revealed herself and stepped forward. She wasn?t keen on watching others bully younger and weaker people, such as children. The muggers stood there taken aback but when the leader began to shoot, the others did as well. A barrage of bullets began to shroud Black Orchid but as soon as the dust began to subside, something rushed towards the muggers, hitting one of them on the wrist. ?She hit my wrist!? ?Oh, did I do that? Well, I suppose I should be a bit more careful with this here whip.? As Black Orchid moved into the light, it was apparent that she was holding her Snake Whip in her hand. She cracked it once towards the ground and the muggers held their pistols in a nervous state. ?But then again, you did take that boy?s money and I do hate it when bigger people bully the young?n. Now, I?m going to say this once and only once. If I have to repeat myself, I?ll make sure you never shoot again. So then, give the boy back his money and walk away.? The leader began to turn to give the boy his money, or so it appeared, but quickly grabbed him and held him hostage. The Black Orchid was in no mood for games nor was she in the mood to fight, albeit she was prepared to do whatever necessary to get the boy to safety. ?Leave and the boy don?t get hurt. We?ll just take the money if you leave! We ain?t got time to fight no girl, understood?!? ?Oh, you underestimate me. I am no mere ?girl? nor am I going to leave. I said that if I had to repeat myself, I?d make sure you never shot again and I?m keeping that promise. Now, let the boy go and give him his money! I won?t repeat myself a third time!? With great precision, Black Orchid managed to pull the pistol from the mugger?s hand and throwing it into the ocean. She then pulled her own pistol from its holster and pointed it at the leader, who immediately obeyed and let the boy go. He began to walk backwards but stopped when the sound of a click was heard from her gun and threw the money towards the boy and ran. ?You are not getting off that easily.? Without even aiming, the bullet managed to shoot off the man?s index finger and hit the muscle below the buttocks. Scared, the little boy began to walk away but when his money was given by a man with red hair, he gasped and looked to the woman, thanking her and ran away. The man, on the other hand, didn?t walk away from the scene but merely walked up to Black Orchid, admiring her skill. ?The name?s...? Just as soon as the red-haired man was about to introduce himself, Black Orchid called out his name. ?John Hervey but they call you Red. I hear your looking for Longhorn?s Treasure and that you?re in need of a crew.? ?Right you are, ma?am. Would you care to join the lot?? A life out at sea in the fresh air and the unpredictable weather. Perhaps this is the calling that I need to answer; perhaps this is my answer to my tormenting questions. I suppose I should, being with Red may let me know what his abilities are a bit more and in essence, defeat him at his own game. Though, Longhorn?s treasure isn?t really what I want. Oh, best try. ?Show me the way and I?ll show you a good time.?
Sakura
A girl yawned and woke up, sitting up in her thin pallet that she called a bed. She rubbed her eyes sleepily and threw off the thin sheet that served as her blanket. She reached over to the side of her bed and picked up her weapons. She tied her pouch of throwing knives and knife to her belt and gripped her unique, custom made daggers, there were no others like them anywhere. She twirled them easily and stood so she could slide them into their holders which were on small belts that were wrapped around her mid-thigh. Kat combed through her short brown hair with her fingers and bent to pick up her goggles, sliding them onto her head. She looked down at herself and nodded, then she walked out the door and through the living area that used to belong to a gang, a gang she had been a member of, until they were killed by a rival gang. Now she was alone, she had no friends or family. Kat left the place later. She wandered the streets casually, looking at people carefully as they walked past, checking if it would be worth trying to steal them. As she passed a fruit stand, she swiped an apple without anyone seeing, and when she turned the corner, she took a bite out of it. Kat scanned the crowd for potential 'victims' and saw one man in particular that looked like he was doing ok. She smirked and walked normally, she 'accidently' bumped into him, swiping his coin purse. She apologised and continued on her way, only to be pulled around by her arm to face the man again. "I said I was sorry." she told him. "If you were really sorry, you wouldn't have taken my coin purse, miss." he smiled. Kat glared at him and jumped back, pulling her arm out of his grip. "Oh, you can leave if you like." he said, holding up his coin purse, and hers at that. Kat gasped, she was the best thief in the area, how had he taken both without her noticing. "Hm...I like you, how would you like to join my crew." he questioned, explaining about his purpose. "Hm..and you are?" "I am Red, miss..." "Katchya Valentine, no 'miss' stuff. My friends address me as Kat." she informed him, not showing the pain in her eyes wen she mentioned 'friends'. "Either way, I'll give this back to you." he said, and to prove it, he tossed her purse to her. "How did you-" "Take it without you noticing? I'm pretty good at thievery myself." Kat didn't have to think long about it. She had no where else to go, and this was a good thing, a chance that may never come again. "Fine, I'll join your crew." she said. He just smiled and led her away. ~*~ Well, today's my first official day as part of Red's crew. The members that have been recruited so far are nice to get along with. There's a girl in particular, she's similar to me and we seem to get along. Her name's Nikki. She's a thief too and a tomboy, I think we'll become friends. The weather's nice, it's been fine so far. I think I can get used to this life, at least I have people to talk to now. I think I'll be just fine.
Blayze
You know, I can tell this day's going to be a real downer... "Verdane Silver, you are charged with the following crimes: robbery, arson, attempted murder by poisoning, attempted murder by stabbing, attempted robbery of a governor's home, impersonating a member of the government, impersonating a member of the clergy, and the last and most despicable of all your crimes is the crime of piracy," said the government official, reading from a long parchment scroll. Verdane stood on the gallows, the noose already tied around his neck, looking rather sheepish. As a last request, he was allowed to wear his hat as he was being hung. He loved that hat, the one with the huge feathers and the silver lining. But that was the last of his worries. "You have been sentenced to death by hanging," concluded the government official. "I had worked that one out, you idiot!" shouted Verdane, looking up at the rope that was now noosed around his neck. This was classic Verdane Silver, defiant to the last. And this definitely was his last. A drumroll started up, and as it reached it's climax, the executioner pulled a lever, causing the floor beneath Verdane's feet to fall away, and his entire body fall. But, seconds before the rope reached its full length, thus killing him, something silver flew through the air, slicing through the rope, dropping Verdane to the floor. He looked around for the source of the object, then ran over to a soldier and grabbed his sword. If he had to go out, then he would go out fighting. Soldiers ran towards him, their bayonets firmly attached to their rifles, ready to stab or shoot Verdane. He held the sword firmly, in a grip which was common to him, but unusual for others. He would keep two fingers outside the handgrip, allowing extra movement of the weapon. To demonstrate this, he twirled his sword around a little, then jumped at the soldiers, his sword flashing. It collided with the bayonets, and he whirled around, his sword singing through the air, slicing through the soldier's garments and flesh alike, blood dripping to the floor. Finally, Verdane saw where the silver object had come from. A tall, thin streak of a man was running towards him, his sword drawn, his pistol smoking. The new arrival jumped over to join Verdane, and they stood back-to-back, their swords ready to fight. "Good day, sir, the name's Verdane Silver," said Verdane to the stranger. "Yes, I know, I've heard of you. You were part of Giacomo "Bloodshed" Morelli's crew, were you not?" replied the stranger. "Aye, that I was." "Then I offer you this: join my crew, and I will save you from the government. Do we have a deal?" "Well, I do value my life above most of my other possessions, so yes, I think we do have a deal. What did you say your name was?" "I didn't. My name isn't important right now. What is important is this," he said, drawing a small leather drawstring bag from his belt, opening it and spilling the contents on the floor in front of them. "What are you doing? Have you gone mad?" asked Verdane, seeing the strange behaviour of the stranger. "Not yet, and hopefully not for a long time," replied the stranger, taking a flaming torch from the wall of the fortress, and touching it to the trail of powder that now lay on the floor. It went up, orange flames billowing out around them. The stranger grabbed Verdane by the collar and threw him over a wall, before jumping over himself. They were protected from the explosion by the wall, and when the chaos had passed, Verdane stood up, and looked around. There were very few left alive, and those who were were injured. "We had better go," said the stranger. "Wait a minute, now, stranger, I need my belongings," said Verdane, running over to the dead prison guard, and taking his sword, pistols, coat and his lucky tricorn hat, which he replaced his fancy hat with. "Alright, now I'm ready," he said. "Well, follow me then," said the stranger, and he ran, jumping over the wall, and hurling himself off the side of the fortress, which overlooked the ocean, some two hundred metres below. Verdane watched as the stranger fell, landing in the water with a huge splash. Verdane, shrugged and threw himself off the edge after the stranger. He hit the water, and then followed the stranger, who was swimming towards a ship. "Wait a minute, now," said Verdane, struggling to keep his head above water, "Would I be right in thinking that that ship is the Dauntless? The pride of the Meran navy? Then that would mean you are...John Hervey? You are Red?" "Aye, that's me. You would have found out sooner or later, but I suppose now is as good a time as any." Soon they were aboard the Dauntless, and Red was introducing Verdane to everyone. From Hugo, the navigator, Ginger, the beautiful tailor, and Juri, the ship's cook, to some new arrivals, similar to him in many ways. There was Maris, another beautiful woman, Tai Koshi, Katara, Nikki, Dartanian Thatcher, Brett, Kaine Retlale, also known as Blitz the Shadow Streak, and a strange woman named Black Orchid. He introduced himself to them all, and some of them who had knowledge of piracy were impressed that he had been Giacomo Morelli's right-hand man, but then he was too tired to continue, so he went to his quarters... (OOC: Sorry, the end is kinda lame, but its the best I can do at the moment)
Dragon Warrior
Hey, Fallen, you couldn't have met Dartanian since he isn't currently on the ship yet XD --------------- Dartanian stepped aboard the Dauntless with new clothes and gear. He purchased a few more flintlocks while he was at it and made them diappear into his garments. He carried so many guns that no one ever knew how many he actually had. He walked across the main deck, his boots causing the floor boards to let out a squeak from rot. He climbed the stairs to the poop deck and fancied over the helm. Memories of his captaining days came back to him and he actually smiled. "It'll be good to get back out on the sea," he grinned. His hand ran across the fine, polished wood of the helm and stopped on one of the knobs. He spun the wheel a little to starboard and back. He laughed to himself and walked to the stern of the ship and stared over the back railing just as some other crewmates emerged from below deck. Dart took out one of his older guns and rubbed it down with a cloth. "New clothes, new guns, new voyage," he told himself aloud. "New life." He stared out into the open sea. He spun the gun around in his hands, humming a pirate melody to himself. "The Dauntless isn't such a bad ship." He smiled. "The company isn't too terrible either," he said as he turned to look at Ginger down on the main deck. He turned back to the ocean. He remained there for a long time, polishing a rusty gun that cannot be polished.
Kamuro
Chapter 1 Beginnings It was amazing, I was even luckier then I thought. Not only had I found a great crew, but they all seemed to be getting along well too. Guess the bandana wasn't the best idea to keep myself hidden. Anyhow, it was finally time. Time for us to begin our journey to find Longhorn's treasure. He was a wily old pirate and I knew it'd be tough, but I was up for any challenge he had in store for me. Our first destination was the Kilik Isle, a small archipelago just off the Meran shores. The map had every destination I'd need to get to the island that housed the treasure, but at each stop off I'd have to search for a clue as to the exact location of the riches Longhorn had stored away. A little game he'd thought up to make finding the treasure that much harder, but I was determined. Everyone sat silently at the large table in the conference room. They'd been called there to recieve important information before beginning their quest to find Longhorn's treasure. The table had been filled entirely, lacking one seat, so Hugo stood in the far corner of the room, leaning up the against wall, almost asleep or so it seemed. The large double doors of the room swung open and Red walked in, making his way past the table and to the front of the room. "Welcome everyone," he said with a nod, acknowledging each of his fellow crew members. "You all know why you're here, to accompany me on a journey to find Longhorn's treasure. Longhorn, being the famous pirate captain known for his ruthless fighting skills and well, eccentric ideals. I'm sure most of you have heard of the discovery of his map just weeks ago on a secluded island far from anywhere important. And if you've heard this then you know that the Meran army had discovered it, yet claimed it be nothing more then a rumor. Well, I'm here to assure you that this is no rumor," he spoke, laughing a bit as he pulled a rolled up piece of parchment from his pocket and tossed it onto the table. "This, ladies and gentlemen, is that very map. The guide to the mounds of riches Longhorn had stored away during his many years," he said. The rest of the crew stared silently at the map, their jaws dropping. Hugo was the only other person that knew of the map until just now, and the crew had finally been informed of Red's secret. "However, this is not simply a "guide," as it may seem to be. This is a puzzle. We won't be able to sail directly to the island and find the treasure. We'll have to make certain stops along the way and obtain clues to the treasure's specific location on the final island. I've read threw them several times and I assure you this will not be easy. Also, numerous other factions are searching for the treasure as well. I'm not sure how much information they have on it's location, but I assume they won't be happy with us searching for it. Even the Meran army has set aside it's most talented members to search for us as well as the treasure. It will be dangerous and some of us may not come out alive. However, I faith in all of you and truly do believe that we'll come out of this journey a lot richer then when we came in." he said with a laugh. The rest of the crew smiled, some laughing as well. The confidence was overwhelming, and the sudden rise in morale would make it that much easier for the crew to work together and find the treasure before anyone else could. "Our first destination is Kilik Isle, just off the shores of the Meran settlement. We'll have to be cautious and sail safely to the isle as not to be noticed by the Meran patrol ships. You'll refer to me now as Captain, or Red, the name I've been given as a pirate. I'll need each and every one of you to complete this task. Remember, I'm counting on you." And with that he turned and walked from the room, leaving the crew just as they'd sat before, except a great deal happier. Explanation Finally, the story begins! Nows the time to meet and learn about the rest of your crew as well as the inner workings of the Dauntless. Interact with others, decorate your rooms, practice fighting or simply enjoy the veiw as we begin our journey. However, the life of a pirate is far from glamorous. And although we have an amazing ship, it'll take each and every one of you to keep things running smoothly. In my next post you'll all be recieving your jobs, certain duties you'll be responsible for while aboard the Dauntless. Whether you like them or dislike them, it's important that you do your very best to complete your job each and every day. But for now, you have free time to do whatever you please. Keep it up everyone!
Dragon Warrior
Dartanian retreated to his quarters immediately after the conference. He wasn't sure if the rest stayed in the room or not since he was out right after Red. He sat on his bed peering out the window, a bewildered look marking his face. "So that's the map to Longhorn's treasure, hm?" Dart smirked devilishly. "A fine treasure that is. I could buy myself a new ship with my share. No--a fleet! A fleet of ships!" It was his dream to become a powerful and notorious captain once more. It was almost an insult to sail under another man's flag. But strangely enough he was pleased to take orders from Red. It must've been the booty he'd get for his share of the work. Nevertheless, he scowled at doing searat jobs. No swabbin' the decks for him, no sir. He wouldn't have anything to do with it. "I hope..." he mumbled out loud. Ginger walked past his door and he was out in the hallway in seconds. "Ginger." She turned. "Yes, Dartanian? What is it?" "Has Red given orders yet?" "No, he's assigning work soon, though. Enjoy yourself while you can." "Oh, I am," he grinned softly at her. She gave a small smirk and left him with a dry laugh. He retreated up the stairs to the main deck, then to the railing. There was an apple sitting on the railing parrallel from him, so he took out his gun and shot it off into the water. "Careful, there," Red called from the helm. Dart looked over at the captain, who was the only other one on the ship aside from Ginger he'd converse with. Dartanian climbed the stairs to the poop deck and let the breeze carry through his hair like a gentle hand. "Don't you worry about me, Red. I have a knack for guns, you could say." "Yes, I can see that," Red admired without even looking over. "How many do you have on you?" "I couldn't say." "Your name does sound familiar." "Nah," Dart shook his head. "I'm just another drifter like the rest of us." He spun a piece of eight in his hand with a gleaming eye watching. "Of course, this Longhorn's treasure intrigues me much so." "Keep your frock on," Red mused. "We're on our way."
Chisoku
Tai nodded his head to all of the crew, except the ones that had already left. Sliding himself back, he grabbed his spear and stood up, the crew smiled at him and said their "Good bye's." Stepping silently through the double doors, he made his way down to the Training Area. As he was making his way down, memories flooded through his head, the death of his Dad. He shook his head, as if he could shake the horific flash backs, luckily it did. As soon as Tai stepped through the door way, he was amazed. It was a magnificent place, each and every where you looked, things could be seen that would benefit in training. Nodding slowly to himself, he chose a somewhat lonely area, the mat was expertally weaved. Stretching, he took of his cape, than his shirt, placing them on the ground to the right of him, ontop of those he placed his beloved spear. Kneeling, clinching his fists, he placed them firmly on the mat, stretching his legs back, he was ready to train. Breathing out, he let his body seemingly fall to the ground, his forearms tighten as he stopped himself, pushing up. Light gleamed off his back, the sweat falling off his face, his breathing was fine, yet his knuckles were somewhat of a red color. Softly, he counted out loud to himself, "One fifty two...one fifty three..." Each number ended with a push up. As he reached two hundred, he set up, swinging his sad-ish hair around, sweat flying everywhere. His breathing was some what fast, yet he made himself slow down, his body tired from the work out. He looked around the training room, eyes wandering from swords to mats, suddenely the flashbacks appeared. Tai grabbed his head, shaking himself back and forth, tightening his whole body. The memories faded, he was grasping his breath, he could not make himself remember what had happened, he did not want it to. Silently, he set there to himself, the sweat still falling off his body.
Who Am I?
After the conference Brett decided to look at his room. With a big stretch and yawn, Brett got out of his seat and walked out of the room. "Whoops!!" Nikki rushed past him making Brett lose his balance. "It's okay!" Brett caught himself. Through the hallways Brett finally found a room. "Hmm.. nice enough." Brett looked around. Table, bed, lighting, and other things were in the room. He found his stuff lying on the side of his bed. This trip was going to be harsh right? Ma and Pa were a bit worried but I'm a grown man now. Right???? I hope sis is alright though.. I hope I get to search for something good. This is going to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
Kamuro
Red retreated to his quarters and sat quietly at his desk, he wasn't sure how things would pan out but he was excited to see how everyone would get along. He became bored and decided to make his way to the forge. It always seemed to relax him. However simple it may be, swinging a hammer helped him think and sometimes he just needed a break. As he pounded a piece of hot metal he heard the footsteps of someone approaching. It was Silver, "Hey Red," he spoke, turning the corner and entering the forge. "I heard some banging and figured it might be you," he laughed, taking a seat near the fire. "What are you doing down here?" Red asked, ceasing to work on the metal throwing the hammer aside. "I was checking out the training area and shooting range, it's truly amazing, I've never seen anything like this ship," he laughed, speaking in awe. "Hah, you didn't think I'd steal just another dinky boat did you?" laughed Red, removing his gloves and tossing them aside as well. "No, but I didn't expect this," spoke Silver, hopping to his feet. He noticed the gun at Red's side and pointed to it, "You any good with that thing?" he asked, drawing his pistols and twirling them through his fingers. "I'm alright, and you?" asked Red with a smile. "Ahh, I have my moments," laughed Silver. "How bout we go to the range and have a little fun," he asked, turning from the room and walking slowly. "Sure, lets do it," said Red, aching for some real fun. So there they stood, side by side, Red's pistol drawn and both of Silver's guns in hand. "Theres ten targets across the wall, 5 for you, and 5 for me. We'll each shoot 5 bullets and see who comes closest to the bulls-eye on each target," sugeested read, loading his gun and tapping it on his shoulder as he waited for a reply. "Alright then," spoke Silver readying each pistol. Although the targets were rather large, it was nearly impossible to hit the very center. The bulls-eye was just barely visible from a distance and only expert gunman had been able to hit it, no one of the Meran army had even come close, how pitiful. "GO!" shouted Red. I remember that, my first real friend aboard the Dauntless, Silver. He was an amazing gunman that guy, truly inspirational. However, it wasn't his expert skills that drew me close to him, it was his personality. I could tell we'd get along great and I believe I'd finally found a partner for the journey ahead. OOC: Just having some fun like you guys lol. Over 5 people participating in the RP went away at the same time so it slowed down a bit but they'll all be back soon I assure you. If you havn't posted yet then do so and have some fun!
Blayze
Silver aimed and fired in one quick motion, hitting the target close to the bullseye, and spinning round to get to the next target, aiming and firing quickly again. The bullseye from this target was blasted clean out of the target. He flicked his eye over to Red, who had hit two bullseyes already, and was reloading to get the third. Silver flicked his guns up, and reloaded them much quicker than Red was doing. In a few moments he had turned and fired again, hitting another bullseye. Smoke danced around him, billowing from the barrels of his pistols as he fired. He fired again, hitting a third bullseye from his fourth target. Red had hit three bullseyes out of four as well, missing his last shot. Silver threw one gun down to help him hold the other, and reloaded with astonishing speed, and waited for Red to reload as well. Both men faced their targets, and Silver smiled at Red quickly, before pulling the trigger and blasting a hole through the centre of the target. Red saw this, and a second after he pulled the trigger, a hole was blown from his target, just outside the bullseye. He cursed and threw down his pistol. Silver walked up to him, clapping. Congratulations, Red," he said, "You couldn't beat me." Red looked at Silver threateningly for a moment, then both men burst out laughing. I, for one, have a strong belief that Red and I were separated at birth. He has already become a good friend to me, and I have only known the man a few days. We have very much in common, and he won my respect during the shooting contest we engaged in yesterday. He was an amazing shot, but he still couldn't beat me. I am still the undisputed ruler of shooting contests. I can see us getting along famously.
Revelation
Longhorn?s Map is in the hands of John ?Red? Hervey aboard the Dauntless with a crew of misfits and outcasts. How quaint. I wonder, though, if these ?people? can measure up to what they are. If Red chose them, then we?ll see how far we get on this voyage. The salty air gently hit Black Orchid?s face, allowing her to smell the fresh ocean water. She opened her eyes to gaze upon a flock of geese flying overhead and listen to the sounds of the splashing water as the Dauntless makes its way across the ocean. This was nothing compared to living the life of an aristocrat or even living on the streets back home. This was something that money could never buy, a feeling that can only be felt when truly experiencing it. Though this view is beautiful, I wonder what the training room looks like. They say that the Dauntless? weaponry is endless and its training room is nothing like anyone has seen. It is filled with weapons used for sparring and otherwise, as well as thousands upon thousands of training objects. Arms folded across her chest and standing tall, Black Orchid looked out across the waters. She seemed as if she was deep in though, her eyes glistening with puzzlement, though the only thing that kept her mind from wandering was what pleasure she would find with this odd crew and their captain. She sighed and stretched her arms, cracking her elbows, neck, and back. ?Well now, without anything to do, I suppose it?s time that I trained a bit.? Walking towards the training room, Black Orchid could hear the different voices aboard the ship. She then calculated a bit of their personality and how they may act into her head. She smirked and entered the training room but stopped before she walked in any further and saw one of the members sitting there. She knew this man to be the spear handler named Tai. ?Taking a break, I see? What would you say to a spar? That is... if you?re able to handle it??
Chisoku
Turning around, Tai stared into the eyes of a beautiful woman, quickly he got up, spear in his hand. He nodded, reaching down and grasping his shirt, slipping it quickly over his upper body. Noting his cape on the ground, he decided it might slow him down in the training. "Yes, I am up to a spar, yet I will use my spear, you can use anything that you want." Tai stared at the woman, this woman that he heard was named "Black Orchid. "Alright, I will use my whipe, be careful, it has a nasty bite." She smiled, almost enjoying what she had said. Abruptly he turned, walking to a rather open area, stopping he wiped the sweat off his face, from the previous work out. Black Orchid quickly stepped into place, the whip touching the ground, Tai turned to see the whip coming at him. He smiled, the whip was aimed at his feet, to keep him alert and to tell him she was ready. Tai streched his body and nodded, telling Black Orchid he was ready. At his nod, the whip cut through the air, its end cracking against the metal handle of his spear. Spinning the spear around he charged toward her. He knew that he would not hit the woman, in fear of it hurting her, after all, she was a fellow crew mate. Back and forth the spar went, the whip biting into the flesh, bringing forth small rivers of blood. Yet, they were no cut what so ever on Black Orchid, she knew it to. Once again, the whip seem to slice through the air, it's end, once again ready to bite. This time however, Tai let the whip wrap around his handle, Black Orchid pulled, Tai stood firmly. "This is a good work out.." Tai noted to himself, he was enoying himself, yet there had not been any recollection of the bad memories that he so often gets.
Revelation
The Snake Whip was wrapped around Tai?s spear but even as Black Orchid pulled, Tai did not move from his spot. Black Orchid then took the Snake Whip from Tai?s spear and wrapped it around a pole near the wall, using it to project herself into the air, allowing her to throw her tomahawk at Tai, who caught it in his hand. He stood with the tomahawk in his hand and looked to Black Orchid with a raised brow. ??You can use anything that you want? was what you said. You never implied that I was to use only one weapon.? Tai threw back Black Orchid?s tomahawk to her and she caught it with ease, as well. She then looked at his body and saw blood-stained rips on his body. ?Besides, this is called a spar, not target practice, my dear. If I wanted to use someone as target practice, I would have used a worthless mongrel who steals from children to be my target. Now, here are the rules, there are none. Whoever is the last standing, wins this spar. This time, don?t be afraid to hit me.? Tai stood there, thinking it over and decided that what she said was fair. He nodded and cracked his neck, readying himself for a real spar. ?I don?t fear blood or pain,? Black Orchid replaced her tomahawk in its rightful place and cracked the Snake Whip against the ground. ?I enjoy it.? This new information had caused Tai to raise his brow once again but was caught off guard when the Snake Whip cracked against his upper arm, spilling blood from his body. Black Orchid sent another strike and managed to grab hold of his spear but just as soon as she pulled, he unwound the whip from its grip and took hold of it, pulling her towards him. Black Orchid faltered in her step and was thrown towards Tai. With quick thinking in her mind, Black Orchid used her whip and Tai to allow herself to land behind him. Ready to kick his back, Black Orchid extended her leg but her foot was caught in Tai?s hands. She dropped her whip and pulled out of her boot, spin-kicking his face. She reached down and grabbed her whip in that same movement and even put her shoe back on. ?Impressive. You?ve managed to kick me in the jaw, grab your whip from the ground, and even put on your boot in one movement without even having two feet on the ground.?
Orcus
Blitz looked over the edge of the ship. The water was beautiful, and the weather was great today. A loud sound from below deck distracted him. Someone was training. From the sound of it, it sounded like two people were sparring. Blitz smiled. He hadn't sparred in ages. He wouldn't mind going a round. Nikki waltzed by, Kat with her. Blitz ran up to them and smiled. He bowed, respectfully. "Hello, ladies. Seeing as none of us are really doing anything...How about the three of us have a friendly spar? You two versus me. Whaddya say?" Nikki and Kat looked at each other. Kat had a large grin on her face, and Nikki was smiling as well. Kat opened her mouth to speak, when another noise from below deck caught their attention. She turned to Blitz. "Sure, but where? The Training Area is being occupied so---" "Why not up here?" Blitz said, doing a backflip onto the rail on the side of the upper deck. He stood up and motioned over the boat. "We've got plenty of space up here. Definitely enough for you ladies to knock me around a bit." He jumped down, landing in front of them. "Well?" Nikki and Kat looked at each other again, and coy smiled slid over their faces. Kat took out her daggers and spun them around, while Nikki unsheathed her knives. They both jumped up and lunged at Blitz. He seemingly dissapeared, and they heard his voice from above. He was hanging off the rope of a mast. "I didn't say the rules yet! There's only one. No destroying the ship. Oh, and no knocking each other off the boat." He jumped down, daggers at the ready. He landed in crouching position. He spun around, deflecting Kat's strike with one blade. He put his left hand behind him and deflected, then parried Nikki's blow. He crouched down low and spun his leg around, hoping to trick them, but they were too swift. They sprang up, and came down forcefully, attemtping to strike him with their blades. Blitz raised his daggers up defensively, then knocked them off of him. He laughed as he stood up. "You teenagers have all the energy in the world. I think I've bit off more than I can chew for this battle." He sheathed his blades. They looked at him oddly. He then bolted towards them. He grabbed Kat with one hand and Nikki with the other, spinning around and launching them both in the direction he came from. They twirled in the air, landed on their feet, and slid. Blitz smiled. "That was my way of saying, 'And now, the gloves come off.' Now, I suggest you do the same."
Kamuro
Black Orchid's head swung quickly after the sound of a muffled clap from across the room. Red and Silver stood in the doorway, both clapping, smiles upon there faces. "Quite the fight it was, but it'll have to stop here. I don't need anyone injured yet, the journey has just begun, and I'll be needing both of you," spoke Red, walking forward, lifting Tai's shirt from the floor and tossing it to him. "There's some bandages in the infirmiry one deck lower, clean those up," he spoke again nodding towards the door. Tai sighed, turning from the room and leaving. Black Orchid remained, spinning the whip through her palm tightly and placing it upon her belt. "Try to be more careful next time Orchid. Save the true fighting for true enemies," Red spoke, nodding in her direction. "Merely having some fun," she said, her hands upon her hips. "There will be plenty of chances to test your skills, but I'd rather you not do it on the likes of a fellow crew member," Red spoke firmly. Orchid held her tongue, nodding and acknowledging the Captain's wishes. But soon after the ship shook with violent intention. Maybe the time to test her skills would come sooner then he thought. As he ran up the ships many staircases he finally reached the deck, the sun beating down upon him immediately as he immerged from the depths of the Dauntless. "Whats going on Hugo?" he shouted to the fumbling old man towards the rear of the ship doing his best to keep the large craft steady. "It's those damn Merans!" shouted Hugo, cursing violently as his body shook to the weight of the ship. "But we took a safer path far from the Meran settlement, we should be out of their district and far from the patrol routes, whats going on?!" he shouted back up towards Hugo. "I reckon they heard of our quest from the Middleton port, they always were a bunch of spoiled-" Hugo's voice faded off with curses once again. The two were interrupted by the rest of the team, making their way to the deck, some sooner then others. It was time, Red had to take charge, or the ship would sink, and there was no way he could let that happen. "Alright everyone. We'll need two teams. One to stay aboard the Dauntless and attack from afar and one to board the Meran vessel when we approach. Cannons will be operated from a distance, however when we get closer those aboard the ship will have to switch to pistols and other methods of battle to prevent collateral damage. Team 1 will be responsible for protecting the Dauntless and making sure it isn't overtaken while Team 2 disables the enemy threat. Any questions? Good." Red motioned to Silver to approach him. "I was greatly impressed with your skills earlier, I'm putting you in charge of Team 1, just below you will be Dartanian, he takes a bit of getting use to, but he's an amazing gunman. I expect you two to lead the others and protect our ship from being overtaken. Now choose the rest of your team!" OOC: I figured I'd stir up some action before I post the jobs and such. Fallen will be picking his team to stay aboard the ship, and those he doesn't choose will go with me and take the enemy ship (teams will be even, by the way). Just because your staying aboard the ship doesn't mean you won't see action. When the vessels meet both crews will be attempting to thwart the other, so both teams will be provided with plenty of fun. Fallen won't always be chosen for captain if issues or battles arise, I'll be rotating and shifting to different formats in different situations so don't worry. After Fallen posts everyone is welcome to follow.
Blayze
Silver strode up and down the deck, trying to decide who would come in his team. There were many fine men and women aboard this ship, so it would be difficult choosing. He already had Dartanian, who was an excellent gunslinger, so he would need some more variety. After a few minutes, he spoke: "I have chosen the team that will accompany me. As Red has already said, I will be leading, and Dartanian will be just below me. The other members of my team are as follows: Nikki, Maris, Kat, and Tai. These are the ones who I can foresee being most useful to me, and I leve you, Red, with Brett, Minx, Blitz, Gray and Black Orchid. I can tell these will be of most help to you aboard the Meran vessel." "Good. Now, if you are on Silver's team, start loading up the cannons, ready for an all-out assault on the ship. My team will get themselves equipped and ready to board the Meran ship," said Red, "Now move out!"
Kamuro
Red nodded in Silver's direction and took over command once again. Until the ships were close enough they'd all have to man the cannons. "Everyone, next to each cannon are three cannonballs placed there incase of this very situation. You'll use those first, when you run low the armory is just below the deck, run down and carry as much ammo up as you can. I wasn't expecting a pre-emptive attack but we'll make it!" shouted Red, running to the nearest cannon and opening it's rear. He picked up a large black sphere, shoving it into the weapon and closing the hatch once again. "Hugo move a bit closer and then turn the ship, we'll have a clear shot from all one-sided cannons!" Red shouted. "Aye," Hugo returned, using all his might to twist the wooden wheel as quickly as possible. No sooner had the ship fully turned Red's cannon lit with a twitch of his fingers. Seconds after a loud explosion could be heard, the dark sphere erupting from the cannon tip and gliding through the air, just barely striking the enemy's hull. "Now everyone, fire!" Shouts rang out across the sea, some hitting, most missing however. The enemy ship was quite formidable. Although it didn't house near as much fire power as the Dauntless, it was quick and dodged nearly every shot with divine excellence. As it neared the ship Red could hear the noise of wood scraping against wood and the cannons being pulled back as to not hit the enemy vessel. His thought was interrupted by a sharp metal hook flying through the air and latching to the ships sturdy railing. He fell to the ground, surprised they'd prepared so quickly. He squinted, the bright sun obstructing his veiw upwards, soon showing the silhouette of a Meran soldier, coat flapping in the wind. He rolled to the side just in time to avoid the blow of a rough Meran sword, the tip rupturing the Dauntless' tarnished deck. He swiftly spun and tripped the man to the ground, jumping to his feet and shooting instantly, the man's limp body falling, his sword still erect from the wooden crack. "Alright everyone, you know what to do. I'll find the Captain but he'll be heavily guarded, the rest of you have to clear a path!" shouted Red to his team, nearly prepared and ready for battle. Luckily he didn't need to think of a way to board the vessel. He hopped on the man's rope and stepped across it, never faultering, even as the intense ocean winds beat against him. The rest of the team was a bit in awe, but followed in suit, each finding their own way across the relentless waters.
