Art Help with CG and Coloring

I was wondering what people use (programs or otherwise) to color your works with all I've got is MS Paint and Colored Pencils but i don't like the way either of those turn out. Pencils look too sketchy ( in a bad way) and MS Paint looks too second grade.

you might wanna try playing around with oekaki... it's not horrible complicated and is fancier than paint. You have to draw in the program though... with a mouse, or a tablet if you have one.

But, to color sketches and such that I've scanned, I usually use Adobe Photoshop. I found a rather nice tutorial a while back, but i've lost it T_T I'll post it if I find it though.

I use Adobe Photoshop v7 for colouring my pictures, which I ink first then scan, usually. Some prefer to 'outline' their sketches graphically with the pen-tool, which requires lots of patience(which I lack).

You can use these programs(the more commonly used): Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop, Paintshop Pro or oekaki/paint BBS:D[/COLOR][/SIZE][/FONT][/CENTER]

I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0 if I am seriously coloring or drawing, and if i'm making a comic strip, I'll use MS paint. Adobe Photoshop costs a LOT of money though. If you really have the time and patience, I'd suggest buying Photoshop. You should try it out by getting the Trial Version at the Adobe website and see how it suits you.

Just to give you an example.

So to sum it all up, you CAN color stuff in MS paint, but your pretty restricted. In Photoshop, you can experiment on and on, and the possibilities are pretty much endless. Hope that helped.
