Guest Sean
If you are into Game music, then this band are for you, formed by Nobuo Uematsu the composer for most of the Final Fantasy music, him and his band members play the music from all the Final Fantasy games. There first CD, which is self-titled contains: 1# Battle Scene (FF1) 2# Clash On The Bridge (FF5) 3# Force Your Way (FF8) - A personal favourite. 4# Battle, Scene II (FF2) 5# The Decisive Battle (FF6) 6# Battle Theme (FF6) - Another favourite. 7# J-E-N-O-V-A (FF7) 8# Those Who Fight Further (FF7) 9# Dancing Mad (FF6) 10# Fight With Seymour (FF10) There music is very, very inspiring, and I think what they've turned from the original game themes and music to listening material is amazing and should be more recognized in the gaming and music industry.
GTK
I'm pretty sure that the current FF music tour includes the Black Mages. Squeee XD I thought you could order the CD through the Square Enix site, but it looks like you can only get Dear Friends and More Friends O_o; Anyone know where to get the Black Mages cd? Solo Tremaine
I order my Black Mages CDs from Otaku.com, which is also pretty good for anime/game CDs in general. Otherwise, CDJapan.co.jp is your best bet for something originating from Japan. I own both Black Mages CDs, and I have to say that while I'm really impressed with how they sound (the real electric guiotar adds so much more depth to these orchestrations than having them replaced with violins or trumpets or something), a lot of the tracks they have appear rather... unmemorable to me. I love Clash on the Big Bridge, J.E.N.O.V.A and a ouple of others, but a lot I just tend to skip through. I've not had much of a chance to listen to much of the second CD, but the songs (Above the Skies and... another one) are quite nice, even though the vocals are a little dodgy in places. It's a fantastic idea. If only they did it with Smash Bros music...
