Anime Best Anime Girl Tournament R3 M4: Lucy/Nyu (Elfen Lied) vs. Ceres (Hellsing)

Psycho killer/extremely cute little girl vs. Blade bait (WHAT?! Hey, third time's a charm! You Ceres fans should be happy!)

My only rule is to not spam up these threads. Don't just post the character that you voted for's name. If you're going to say who you voted for, then explain why you voted for who you voted for, even if that explanation is just quoting someone that shares your sentiments. It doesn't need to be complicated. Even something as simple as "I voted for Asuka because she has a lot more spunk than Rei" or "I voted for Asuka because she has a lot of spunk" will work. So long as it has more substance than "Asuka" or "Asuka's better", its fine.

I'm going with (and hoping for) Lucy/Nyu for the win.

Lucy/Nyu, no contest. I really like that character so far, and I haven't seen Hellsing.

I really need to pick up the second Elfen Lied DVD... that came out last Tuesday, right? Like I've said before, Lucy/Nyu are two personalities living in the same body. One of the personalities, Lucy, is a cold-blooded badass killer, while the other, Nyu, has a really cute child-like personality. (I mean child like, as in she doesn't know how to talk and she's still learning about the objects around her) Lucy is a diclonious, meaning that she can use four (or was it six) 2-meter long invisible high frequency arms that can either grab or cut through things. Those arms, vectors, also serve as sensors of a sort, giving them the ability to sense other nearby diclonious.

From what I've gathered of Ceres, she sounds like more femenine version of your typical ***-whupping anime chick, complete with stronger emotions and just enough dependability on the main character, Alucard, to be noteworthy. In other words, cool, but not quiet cool enough to be badass.

Ceres. Why because she doesn't walk around in her birthday suit or look at her body parts like, "What's this?" I haven't seen either of the animes but, I have read the Hellsing manga. My friend wants to buy Elfen Lied and maybe when I watch it I'll get a different out-look. Plus most of the pictures I see of Luck/Nyu are of her nude or looking at herself. There's this one were's she's got her shirt pulled down and looking at her breast. Very weird, though Hellsing is weird in its own ways I have to go with Ceres.

ANyway, joking aside, From what i've heard of elfen leid (which isn't much), lucy/nyu makes for a great character. so my vote goes to nyu.

I don't recall exactly when it came out, but my copy shipped on July 6. So chances are that the street date was sometime around then. Although I won't be able to actually watch it until August.

However, yes, you do need to pick it up! Episode 5 is often cited as being the episode which tends to make or break (usually make) the series for people who felt ambivalent about the first four episodes or just the beginning in general. It's not very violent, as far as I can remember, but it contains some of the most disturbing scenes in the whole show. Of course the other episodes on the disc are great as well.

?Nyuu annoys the heck out of me and I'm sorry, but she doesn't look any different from a whole host of other anime girls. I think a true "anime babe" should have that little something that makes her stand out for the others.
?Nyuu's personality is far too innocent and boring, Seras has attitude (and she's English!)
?Seras has a full figure instead of just big breasts, and she has awesome hair.
?Seras is a vampire! But one who doesn't like blood, come on, it's cute.
?Seras doesn't act like some stupid, helpless creature. She carries a bloody big bazooka and can wipe out a whole group of men in seconds. Let's face it, she pwns.

I should think that Nyu's innocence is somewhat required to make up for Lucy's extreme bloodlust. It would be kind of "boring" to have multiple personalities if they weren't polar opposites.

Whoa, whoa, [i]whoa[/i]. I'm still confused as to why you're zeroing in on Nyu alone when Lucy is clearly the dominant personality (Lucy has the memories, the motives, etc., while Nyu is basically a blank slate and only appears when Lucy bumps her head). By the end, the show [spoiler]is all about Lucy. Not that I dislike Nyu; however, she's more of a plot device than anything else.[/spoiler] But that aside, "[wiping] out a whole group of men in seconds" is clearly Lucy's specialty. If you want to compare sheer physical prowess, I think we know who would win. For further evidence, just watch the first five minutes of Elfen Lied episode 1.

[SIZE=1]Maybe I was a little too harsh as I have only seen two episodes of Elfen Lied, both of those episodes only showing Nyuu instead of Lucy.

I know (now) that Lucy and Nyuu are like two different people, but still...Seras still seems to come out on top. I'm going for looks as well here, even though Lucy seems to have a more intersting side, her design is something that doesn't catch my interest.

I'll make sure I know all the facts before flaming other characters, but thank you for clearing it up, Dagger. ^_^[/SIZE]

As I mentioned in the other thread, Bloodseeker asked me to officially stop the current two matches if he ended up not having Internet access on Thursday evening. So I'm pleased to say that the winner of this poll is [b]Lucy/Nyu[/b], which I find surprising and rather gratifying, given that Hellsing has been around a lot longer than Elfen Lied.

hehe, i vote for for Lucy/Nyuu for 2 reasons:

1. Ceres is too much of a panzy by herself
2. Ceres is too freakin afraid to drink some blood to become a full vampire(or sumtin like that)
3. Lucy has those kick-*** vectors! (i want a few dozen of em!)
4. Nyuu is just so CUUUTE~~ [spoiler] shes grope-happy[/spoiler]

I vote for Nyuu, simply because she is much cuter and not nearly as annoying as Ceres. I find Nyuu more attractive and overall the better choice.
