Chaos Eidolon
this is kinda hard 2 explain :animeswea but like, has any1 ever been influenced into doing something because of an anime or game? like for instance, read or die makes you want to read, harvest moon makes u want to farm, or full metal alchemist makes u want to study alchemy, or maybe rurouni kenshin makes u want to practice fencing or swordplay? :D
IceRose
Read or die influenced me to study and read and try oragami. Tenchi Muyo's Washu got me into experimenting with chemicals (safe lab). Onegai Teacher got me studying Hiragana.
Kenji
Naruto got me into studying taijustu, Rurouni Kenshin got me into Kendo, Gundam Seed got me into studying war, and I think that's about it.

Solo Tremaine
I think any anime that's good enough will inspire you to do something, whether it's directly related to the anime or not. Most of the animes I see make me want to write, because the feeling I get from watching a really evocative show inspires creativity within me. Or design cosplay costumes o_o; I'd say that Rurouni Kenshin pushed me to increase the amount of practice I have swordfighting, and to a degree made me want to puch my body harder so that I could achieve more physically. Of course, trying to copy any of the moves or physical feats that Kenshin does would be ludicrously impossible- you don't see me running around shouting 'DO RYU SEN!!!' in my back garden, for instance. But it's something to work towards. And anything inspirational is good, as far as I'm concerned ^_^ By the way, please watch the number of abbreviations you use, Chaos Eidolon. Using them too much is against OB's rules, heh. And try whenever you can to add as much detail into your posts as possible- replies that are too short will be deleted as spam.

AzureWolf
Shadow of Destiny got me into learning about Alchemy, and Fullmetal Alchemist made me consider the psychological and moral aspects of being a scientist (or alchemist  ). Soul Reaver was a big influence in both my writing and critical thinking. It demonstrated how things should not be seen so arrogantly as most people tend to percieve, and for all things, there is always a third, less discernable outcome/choice/phenomenon that people tend to overlook. Afterall, there are three sides to a coin, not two. After experiencing Soul Reaver's story, my writing skills improved a lot because I wasn't always so predictable and very straightforward with things. To this day, there are still very few books and stories in any form that surpass Soul Reaver's. According to quite a few people, I apparently became more "tranquil" after watching Haibane Renmei. Everyone said I seemed more relaxed/tolerant/patient afterwards. Of course, they didn't know I watched Haibane Renmei, so it was interesting. I myself didn't notice a difference. I'm not sure about this one, but I think .hack//SIGN pushed me to add more music to my life. Suikoden (the entire series) did the same as Soul Reaver and .hack//SIGN did for me, but probably more strongly than those two did combined, heh. Evangelion and [INSERT GUNDAM SERIES NAME HERE] made me realize that a large percentage of people will be unconsciously sold into emotional melodrama as long as it is covered with a poorly-patched veil of "substance." People seem to like cheesy melodrama, but only as long as they don't realize that's what they are watching. If there's even the slightest attempt to cover - no matter how clearly pathetic and obvious a cover it is - people will buy into it. I had the chance to actually use this fact at least once each year in college, which got me some good grades on quite a few papers when I had no opinion or just didn't care. Genetically-modified crops? Mother Nature will cry, but Mankind needs to go cheat behind mother's back. Boo-hoo. Rewritten to, "Evolution will suffer, and maybe things will become worse, but planetary evolution is superceded by the good for innocent people," and you've got a satisfied teacher. (In my defense, I do have an opinion on Genetically-modified crops now, but when I had to write the paper, I couldn't care less) After watching Madlax, I did double-check a few of my previous writings to make sure my philosophy or theme followed reality and not the other way around. I noticed that, like Bee Train, I was kind of going off-track and making reality an outcome of philosophy, instead of the philosophy explaining reality. There's probably more, but that's all I could come up with right now. In fact, everything I'm exposed to tends to influence me rather strongly... ^^

Dragon Speaker
Well, video games have gotten me into sword-fighting...A lot...And that got my friend's into it a little bit, but not enough. Now, whenever I pick up a stick, they all run... :animedepr Anime, on the other hand...Huh...Well, if I had never gotten into Pokemon in 2nd grade, I would be one heck of a loner at school. So anime pretty much pushed my life in the right direction. :animesmil I've got a lot of cool friends now.

Ryo the Tactician
Hello Chaos, Rurouni Kenshin made me want to try swordfighting (Kendo), but unfortuately, everyone around me either: A. Looked at my like I had lost my mind. or B. Thought I was a wannabe Japanese freak. So that didn't work out really well. :animedepr . Rurouni Kenshin further influenced me to continue following whatever I was doing, and no matter how badly I screw up, there is always a way to make it up and keep on going. He's a good person, never willing to start a fight, always has a smile on his face, but twill stand up for others, himself, and what he believes in. I try to emulate that. .Hack//Sign made me want to play a virtual reality MMORPG more than ever. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, got me interested in air instruments. I currently play the clarinet, and dabble in the more conventional flute, and the Ocarina. Love my ocarina. ;) Fire Emblem peeked my interest in tactics games, though I never read books like Tzu's Art of War. That's all I can think of right now. Cool topic. ~RtT

OOT inspired me 2! i bought an ocarina as well hehe, but its really small, :animeangr owell, it still works and sounds like the one link plays! i could have bought a brand new video game for that price too....ack...hehe but its really soothing to play zeldas lullaby on it, although it took me forevor to get it right haha, very kewl tho! i love reading your responses :D and smoking is pretty stupid kato ama haha ^_^;;
Dragon Speaker
Does everyone have an ocarina now?! :animedepr I had one too, but it broke about a year ago...Clay ocarinas plus great heights is not a good combination! And to stay on topic, OOT gave me the inspiration to get an ocarina as well. :animeswea Another video game that influenced me was Dark Cloud 2. Now I just want to go invent something...Like that automatic napkin poker...
Chaos Eidolon
haha, ocarina and heights? >.< but OOT also inspired me to admire a broader range of music, i really loved the soundtrack, its a real masterpiece of a game... id like to see your automatic napkin poker btw, pm me when u finish it :D ooh and tales of symphonia taught me many moral lessons, as dumb as it may sound lol :catgirl:
