eleanor
Is anybody here obsessed with this film other than me? :D I just recently watched Moulin Rouge and I was blown away. I loved it. I bought the soundtrack on iTunes and ordered Volume 2 of the soundtrack, and those songs are my babies. I never really appreciated how am-AZing Ewan McGregor is (it made me want to watch The Island). X0 When I first heard him sing "the hills are alive...", I think I died. I really had no idea he could sing so well, and same goes for Nicole Kidman (who looks beautiful in this film). The 'Your Song' and 'Elephant Love Medley' sequences were amazing to watch, and the 'Roxanne' scene was...guh. I adore it. And how they work in all these original songs into the movie and make it something different, I loved it. Love love love it. Baz's style in making this movie was wonderful, it made me want to watch Romeo & Juliet and Strictly Ballroom. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it, and I loved it immediately. I loved (how many times have I used this word?) how he managed to switch from funny and entertaining to heartbreaking, and I was very teary by the end of the movie. The magical realism that was used was such an amazing element of the movie, argh. I could rant about how cool this movie is forever. Mostly what drew me was the music, though. I was EXTREMELY glad when it wasn't like Phantom of the Opera, in-which-they-sang-all-the-time-and-it-got-really-annoying. As I said...I love Ewan's voice and Nicole's voice is lovely to hear as well. (Seriously, if a guy sang 'Your Song' to me like that I'd be a puddle.) Ah. Yes. So, anyone else here like?
