Welcome to the [COLOR=Red][B]Graphics Club:[/B] [U]Last-Man-Standing Graphic Engagement[/U][/COLOR]
This Engagement will only include Graphics Club Members.

This is a tournament that will be set up by me, and once we have a clear view of who will be participating we shall set up the rules. What you will be doing if you participate is that you will be paired up with a different member that has also entered and will be Graphic Battling your opponent. I shall be the one setting the Theme for your graphic battle and you will try your best to meet my specifications.

To enter just post a 1-3 paragraph reply, saying why you would like to be part of the tourney. I will be keeping a list of the people who are participating, and give you guys the update on when we will be ready to hold the event.

For those of you who don't want to participate but want to help out. I am looking for eligible judges to help a long side me. We will be voting on who's piece is better and determine the winner of each battle. I will need 1-2 judges so just post in this thread giving me a 1-3 paragraphs about why you think you would be fit for the job. If I believe you fit the requirements then I will let you know.

Oh, well since you'll need some help, I'd like to help judge. I don't feel too confident with participating, but would love to be part of this. I really can't give you paragraphs of my reason; I think it's pretty obvious by my works that I won't be able to meet your standards. I feel that my ability to give good judgement will be more useful to this competition, rather than trying to participate as a competetor.

Why do I think that? Well, judge of character/quality/personality has always been a strong-hold for me. When I look at a battle, and the participants are my friends, I tend to take a "one-minded" insight into judging. I don't lean on who I get along with better. If I don't like a graphic, I don't like it. I don't care if it's Andy Warhol or Monet, if I feel someone else deserves recognition, that's what I'm going to do. You can't have your mind set in that "Oh, well he and I are pretty tight with each other..I'm going to give him my vote because he's my bud.."

It's not fair for the other participant.

[font=Century Gothic][size=2][color=Black]Well, since I'm only starting to develop any chance of producing decent graphics, I don't believe I'm qualified to participate. If I were to attempt, I'd get demolished in seconds.

So, on that note, I wish to apply to be a judge. I feel that I have a duty to help this, since I've joined the club. And this would help show me different styles. Also, as the current [Sun vs. Helba] battle proves, I can keep level headed and attempt to analyze the work, despite is content, with a somewhat attempt at fair criticism, instead of "I like so and so's because the girls hot."

I would like to enter the Last-Man-Standing Graphic Engagement for only a few reasons, and I'll put them bluntly for you. I'm not here to get better, or say that "we're all winners at the end of the day." I want to win this tournament, because I think I have the skill to do so, and I want another chance at winning a graphic tournament hosted on OtakuBoards. The Otaku Graphica 2005 was an unfortunate coincidence, where I had to leave prematurely due to a week-long vacation. I will admit, that I'm bitter about that happening.

With that being said, I will not be bitter at having fairly lost in this tournament if I am eliminated fair and square. I don't think I'm a sore loser, so being knocked out the old-fashioned way would suit me much better. I hope you accept my entry to the tournament. Thanks.[/SIZE]

I'm up for this, mainly because I want to hone my skills as a graphic artist. I haven't been very active lately and my thread is very, very dead. Lately I just haven't had the inspiration nor motivation to do anything to do with Paint Shop Pro...so entering this would be great as it'll get me back into making graphics and I'll be able to learn from my opponent. (And other battles, of course)

Also, I didn't get into Graphica, which I was rather annoyed at. I was looking forward to having a GFX Battle with someone of my own standard, if I entered this I know I would get just that. ^_^[/size]

You'll find the instructions in the Graphics Club thread. Basically, you have to e-mail Retribution why you want to join the club, and if you'd be willing to compete in this event and/or one-on-one combat in graphic battles.

I mean, my computer can't handle the current Photoshop *curse my cheap purchase*. There are many other alternatives out there. I don't have a list of alot of them, but I am attempting to use [url="http://www.gimp.org/"]GIMP[/url].

If you wish, look around for an alternative.

I'd like to join because I think it'd be amusing to see myself get pwned by different graphics club members. x3 (And I [i]know[/i] I will.) Seriously though, this sounds like a fun thing that would help me get better at whatever it is that I do with Photoshop. (Haven't figured it out yet.. All my works are doodlings, really. ^_^;; ) Plus, this might just bump up my confidence if I last long enough, lol.

I'd like to enter because I'm always looking for a new competition to motivate me into creating something new and improving my graphic design skills. I'd also like a chance to possibly go head to head with those who weren't able to compete in the Otaku Graphica. A new challenge is always fun!
