New Hacks...

This was just an idea that I had a while ago but never really got to talk to James about it... How about an RPG hack or something along those lines(shop hack?) for the next update? It would raise member interaction with the forums and it has been shown to be very fun, in my opinion. So how about it?

[font=franklin gothic medium]We will do some new things like that, some new interactive features. But we won't use an RPG/shop system. I've never liked those systems and I kind of view them as being a bit superfluous when it comes to posting.

We will be adding some features that are unrelated to posting but I don't want to add too many - when people are here I'd prefer that they contribute by posting, rather than doing lots of unrelated things. I also think we risk confusing people if we add too much in terms of those things.

While we won't have an RPG/shop system, we will have a fully-featured arcade system that will be integrated into the site and will allow multiplayer challenges. That should be good fun.[/font]

An arcade does sound good!

I personally hate shop systems in forums, it immediately turns forums into [URL=http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=23]this[/URL].

I hope the arcade happens before school starts, haha. Most game sites are blocked from the school computers, but this site has never been blocked.

VbArcade was actually gone after because apparently a lot of the games that it utilizes break copyrights in some way or another. The guy who made it doesn't host any of the related downloads on his site anymore.

Obviously you can still find the stuff, but I'd be far more careful with it on a site of this size.
