Corey
What is this thing? (see attatchment) I pop onto OB and here's this weird thing from Bravenet. It could be just my browser (Safari). It's done wierder things, but I doubt it.
Stuart
Oh, So I'm not the only one... *shrugs* No idea what it is. At first I thought it had something to do with the technical problems I was having earlier I guess it isn't though. I'm using Mozilla FireFox, and yep, I see that thingee. Someone able to shed some light on this ordeal?
Corey
Seems to be gone now... I'd still like to know what it was.
Baron Samedi
Simple answer: OB has a counter to keep track of it's visitors. The counter is provided by Bravenet, and when the counter needed updated code, thats what happened. Nothing to fret over.
Petie
It's a hit counter. Usually, you wouldn't see anything but if something goes wrong (in this case, the code for it was changed), it will end up displaying something like you saw there. It's nothing to worry about though and the problem seems to be fixed. Edit: It would appear that Baron Samedi beat me to the answer.
Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. I never knew anything like this was on Otakuboards, imagine that, the fact that it's there, not me not knowing, never mind. I knew there was something going on with Bravenet because of the files I'd find in my Temporary Internet Files folder, as well as the fact that my Ad-Aware software repeatedly deems Bravenet cookies to be a security risk. But I never knew there was any kind of stuff like this, I use Internet Explorer so perhaps that why I've never seen it, still it's an interesting little catch by Corey.
