Pope Urban II's Call to the Crusades

[center]A kindly looking old man walked out, looking very weary and exhausted. The crowd in front looked up and immediately stopped their chatter. He came to an altar, shifted his weight onto his right foot, then leaned against the altar as if it were a cane. He looked down at the where papers and other items were supposed to be and saw but one lonesome sheet of paper. He instantly recognized his skinny, slanted writing and gave a faint smile. He took a deep breath and gave a small prayer. He looked up at the anxious crowd and gave his weary but bright smile.
?Now that you, O sons of God, have consecrated yourselves to God to maintain peace among yourselves more vigorously and to uphold the laws of the Church faithfully, there is work to do, for you must turn the strength of your sincerity, now that you are aroused by divine correction, to another affair that concerns you and God. Hastening to the way, you must help your brothers living in the Orient [the east, where Muslim and other religious civilizations were], who need your aid for which they have already cried out many times.
?For, as most of you have been told, the Turks, a race of Persians, who have penetrated within the boundaries of Romania even to the Mediterranean to that point which they call the Arm of Saint George, in occupying more and more of the lands of the Christians, have overcome them, already victims of seven battles, and have killed and captured them, have overthrown churches, and have laid waste God?s Kingdom. If you permit this supinely for very long, God?s faithful ones will be still further subjected.
?Concerning this affair, I, with suppliant prayer?not I, but the Lord?exhort you, heralds of Christ, to persuade all of whatever class, both knights and footmen, both rich and poor, in numerous edicts, to strive to help expel that wicked race from our Christian lands before it is too late.
?I speak to those present, I send word to those not here; moreover, Christ commands it. Remission of sins will be granted for those going thither, if they end a shackled life either on land or in crossing the sea, or in struggling against the heathen. I, being vested with that gift from God, grant this to those who go.
?We must do all we can to help convert the millions that have taken the Holy Land from us for they are the ones that need God the most. O ye faithful, hear me now for this is my call to you! It is God?s call to you! Answer that call O faithful ones! Answer that call and help those misguided souls to their true God.
?God is merciful and forgiving, but those who turn their backs on him shall suffer the cold iron in our righteous swords! Shall they attempt to strike us, we will put up our shields and show then that with God, neither sword nor spear shall pierce our flesh! We must believe that this mission will be a successful and right one! If you do not believe this, flee now or suffer for God believes that you?no, [i]WE[/i] can do this! We must be one! We must be[/center]

[center]A cheer went up and his entire crowd was cheering. He couldn?t believe so many people agreed with him. With a big cheery grin, the weariness out of his face, he walked away leaving the multitudes finish their cheering. Tomorrow was going to be a big day.[/center]


Alright, now that the intro is out of the way, time for the sign-up:

[b]Name[/b]: (I'd really prefer if you use a name appropriate to the time period which is from 1095 to the 1300s)

[b]Sex[/b]:

[b]Age[/b]: Anywhere from 18-50 would be good. Anything younger or older, please consult me before doing so.

[b]Appearance[/b]: I'd prefer a picture, but if you don't have one a very, very good description will do.

[b]Weaponry[/b]: (Max number of weapons- 2. One Main and one Sub weapon.) I'd also like a picture to be used here, but once again if you don't have one a good description would be nice. Please don't over-exaggerate on your weaponry. That means if you make some weapon later than that specific time period, I'll ask you to change it.

[b]Bio[/b]: At least a 2 paragraph minimum, please.

[b]Weapon Skill[/b]: (Maximum number of skills- 4) Please don't make a skill all powerful.

[b]Type/Class[/b]:

Stats are categorized in a list of the following:
-Power
-Speed
-Defense

They then are separated by how strong or weak that stat is into:
-High
-Above Average
-Average
-Below Average
-Low

-Swordsmen (Long, medium, or short swords men)
[center]~[Medium/Short] 1 sword in one hand and has an optional shield/sub-weapon on the other hand. Has average power, high speed, and an average defense.
~[Long] Has both hands on weapon. No shield. Has high power, average speed, and low defense.[/center]

-Healer
[center]~ Healer main weapons vary from small knifes/daggers to fighting gloves. Has low power, average speed, and above average defense. Does not have the optional shield in one hand, you may put your sub-weapon on the other hand though.[/center]

-Bowmen (Long or short bowmen)
[center]~[Long]Above average power, high speed, average defense.
~[Short]Average Power, very high speed, and below average defense.[/center]

-Spearmen
[center]~Weapons may vary from short spears, long spears, pikes, tridents, etc. Has High Power, low speed, and above average defense. The optional shield/sub-weapon on the other hand is not available.[/center]

-Axes men (Dual axes, which are two very light axes, and two-handed axes)
[center]~[Dual] Has above average strength, average speed, and below-average defense.
~[Two-handed] Has high strength, low speed, and average defense.[/center]

(If you have any recommendations for other class/types, please notify me and I will think about it.)

[b]Position[/b]:

The front lines are recommended for high strength/defense people. The middle row is highly recommended for average stats characters and the rear is recommended for bowmen and healers or any other characters with low attack/defense. Remember, these positions are recommended, not necessary! Also remember that these formations are only for when we approach an enemy, once we make contact and start battling sword to sword these positions will be thrown out the door and it?s going to be a free-for-all.

[b]Party[/b]: Who?s in your party? I will allow a max of 5 people per party. Special circumstances will be made, however. I will allow one party to have 10 people. Each party is made up of 15 people. For the five person parties, there will be 10 NPCs (Non-playable characters) included. The poster decided whether he/she wants to kill off an NPC (although I don?t recommend it, you can). Obviously in the 10 person party, there will only be 5 NPCs. Before the RP has started in the Adventure Square, I would like a list of most of the NPCs names in your party along with their sex and age.

Type of poster I'm looking for:
[b]1.[/b] Posters with high post quality. I want rich detail in posts.
[b]2.[/b] Post quantity. A minimum of 3 paragraphs per post. Any more would be wonderful.
[b]3.[/b] Commitment. I want a poster who wants to keep this RP alive [u]and[/u] have fun. I don't want this to be an RP with 2 pages when people suddenly decide, "It's not cool/fun anymore."

If you don't have these qualities, I highly suggest you rethink whether or not you want to join this.
