Leonardo had finished his meditation, and decided to go on one last stroll through the grounds before going to bed - tomorrow would be a day of great magnitude, and he needed his strength to replenish. He felt internally weak from not recovering from the spell, but suppressed the feeling, comforting himself with the idea that everyone else felt the same fatigue.

He walked quietly, taking care not to trample any ants or caterpillars lying helplessly on the ground. His erratic path solicited many odd looks from onlookers, wondering why he was weaving so. Finally, he happened upon a group, circled around, talking with respectful smiles on their faces. He recognized Nepenthe immediately, and then the others from their brief introduction to one another. Hovering at a distance of twenty feet, he listened closely to what they were saying.

?I?m very sorry to intrude,? he said to no one in particular during a respectable lull in the conversation. Heads turned around to see a gentle smiling man, whom they recognized vaguely from the spell task. The warriors did not know who he was, save his name. ?I am Leonardo. I would be honored to have your names in return.? After a few minutes of introduction, he took a step back, just listening to everyone else. He touched their auras, feeling their complex personalities, emotions, vague motivations in instants. Those with magical orientation chuckled when he tapped their aura softly. The warriors frowned in puzzlement.

?Does anyone know what we will be doing? What exactly is our mission?? He asked, wondering genuinely why Yuri had picked him; a pacifist, a healer, a humble man.

?To save the world, and whatever comes with that.? Kain?s response was short, but answered Leonardo?s general question.

?Thank you. Please forgive my ignorance.? He smiled gently at him, and then turned his attention back to everyone?s auras. They emanated from their hosts with differing brilliance, hue, consistency, and constitution, which was normal. He dove deeper, taking care not to intrude on ones mind or body, but seeking a spiritual bond with at least one of his comrades. Camaraderie and brotherhood could never replace a deeper connection with another ? an emotional communion on a spiritual level. It was something only great friends had, and compatible auras responded to one another if there was a possibility that such a bond could ever exist between the two hosts.

To his surprise, he got a jolt of response in his search, however the host?s countenance did not betray to others who it was.
OOC: Eh, I made something up! I sort of left it open for whomever wanted to be Leo?s friend. Have fun.

Fayt sighed on the inside, Cira had said it playfully her words struck an uneasy conscious. Though he kept his smile on the outside, one thing he was oddly good at was hiding his emotions.

"Maybe I was chosen not because what I am now, but what I will become" Fayt looked up at the mood before turning back towards the group with a smile "That or maybe I can just carry everything"

All but Kain let out a little laughter before a silence only night can bring. The final member of the "Chosen" approached and introduced himself politly, he was Leonardo a preist or healer, or so it seems. He asked the others names in return who were happy to comply.

"The group is about as diverse as I could have imagined, and the only person I really anything about for sure is Carthe. Cira was still a mystery to me though I have my assumptions. Nepenthe comes off as rather mysterious and very proper. Noah, I'm not quite sure what to think about him, I guess time will tell. Leonardo I take as being respectful and devoted, and then there is Kain........" With that last thought he turned to look at the warrior, in particular his weapon.

"Kain, may I see your sword?" Fayt asked curiously, recieving a cold stare from the man.

"I'm a blacksmith, and I'd like to study it" Fayt added as Kain reluctanly held out the weapon.

Fayt stood up and held it as to attack before setting it on his lap and studying the blade. "I thought is was demon's bone, a rather powerful demon I believe. The person that made this blade is very skilled, an amatuer that tried this would no doubt weaken the bone, but this bone is as strong if not stronger than before. It's hard to say more without proper light. They say that weapons forged of flesh and bone will forever house its spirit, bringing strength but sometimes peril, such as mortal danger or even madness to the user" Fayt recited as if he had just read it out of a textbook, finishing the last sentence before handing the blade handle first to its owner. "They also say, that death will be the weapons constant companion since it has been forged from death"

The group stood sort of baffled at the sudden emergence of another aspect of Fayt.

"With all that said I would believe you a scholar not a blacksmith" Nepenthe's smooth, soothing voice replied.

"A blacksmith by trade, as for a scholar I am definatly not. My teacher made sure I was educated formally on reading, writing, speech along with several books on weapon design and history, blacksmithing techniques, fighting styles, as well as a little bit on war. Though a subject I took a liking to was mythology. I'm still only a novice at best in most of the subjects though, but I have found experience to be the best teacher." With that Fayt fell silent, he had already spoken more than usual, but his tendency to get carried away showed itself again.

OOC: though I would show different side of my character for a little bit. :p

Kain smiled as he heard the young blacksmith telling him exactly what his blade was made of and about who the spirit resided within the weapon and armor.

"You are very clever for such a nieve man. You know your weapons well. That blade is made out of the bones of a demon known as Nimcaznim, hence the name of the blade. I slayed it on one of my jobs, he was a fighter, he almost killed me in the process but I got him. And for my reward for killing such a demon, a blacksmith, not very well known around the world, crafted it for me. And as you can see, he did a very excellent job on the blade." Kain pulled off his armor and tossed it to Fayt, he caught it but almost fell over. Fayt weight it in his hands, lifting it up and down slowly.

"It's heavy for hide armor, heavier then should be." Fayt said as he looked it over.

"It is, it is very strong, very tough. Hardly ever needs repair. It was made from the demons skin, stretched and dried very well and made just as nicely as my sword." Fayt looked over the armor once more then handed it back to Kain, he strapped it back on and went back to his solitude. Thinking about the last part Fayt had said about the sword.

"Bringing strength but sometimes peril, such as mortal danger or even madness to the user." Kain thought about this for awhile, his weapon and armor might drive him insane from the constant invasion of his mind by the demon, or might even kill him. Kain laughed inside.

"You hear that demon, you might end up killing me. Isn't that funny Nimcaznim?" Kain heard a sarcastic laugh come from the voice.

"Ha Ha Ha...... I hope in the end you die, but insanity sounds like more fun." Kain smirked openly, laughing lightly. Some of them looked at him slightly, Kain not noticing them.

"It's hard to make a man lose his sanity when he has to deal with someone like you." Nimcaznim fell silent again. Kain went back to listening to bits and pieces of peoples convertation, Kain looked over the healer. Kain thought it was interesting this human believed in an unseen god, Kain thought it was blind to follow someone that is unseen. But it wasn't his place to say anything, he didn't believe in any of the gods that was presented to him or a single god. After a few moments he heard Nimcaznim groan.

"What's wrong with you now?" Kain asked irritated.

"The priest is touching your aura, I can't block him, I don't wish to give away my presence." Kain sighed and left Nimaznim to his suffering.

OOC: I don't know if you meant that Leo was connecting with you, Achilles,if so, let me know and I'll edit my post.

Noah was still seated beside Nepenthe, he introduced himself politely as each of the new members chosen appeared. He listened to their conversations and asked them about their last task. Fayt explained to him that they had to spar against each other, then Fayt asked about the task for the spellcasters. Noah told them about how they had to use a lot of their power, explaining the use of the diamonds they had retrieved.

When Leonardo arrived, the chosen team was fully assembled, the three spellcasters, and the three warriors. Amongst them, only two were female, one from each side.

They continued to chat through the night, most of them were too restless to sleep, others just wanted to hang around. Noah was a bit of both, he had originally come out because he wasn't tired, and now he also wanted to stay.

Suddenly as he was talking, he felt a tingling touch, not a physical touch, it was a touch through auras. He knew the aura was lingering and he reached out his aura to connect and try to find out what or who it was. They jolted together and the heads of both hosts shot up at the same time. Noah looked over at Leonardo, he was looking at him as well.

Noah realised what that meant, their auras were compatible, and the bond had been formed now so they should be close friends, comrades, brothers, all other words for a close bond. He guessed that Leonardo had been touching each person's aura to see if anyone's was compatible with his, and Noah's was.

Fayt quietly yawned, it was nice to be able to sit and chat with the people that he would be traveling with. The people that would have his back, the people he hoped he could call friends. His fatigued body longed for sleep, but he wished to learn more about the group.

Fayt flitted back and forth between conversations with Cira, Noah, and occasionally a word or two with Kain. Their topics ranged back and forth between the taskes they had recieved, their experiences from the desert, to what Yuri had in store for them next.

"So any ideas about what were are going to do tomorrow?" Cira asked bearing a lot of thoughtful expressions from the group before she added."Maybe a team training task"

"Whatever he has in store, I'm sure it will be original" Noah said turning his gaze from Leonardo.

"Well, I think I'm going to retire then, as much as I enjoy staying up late, I want to be prepared tomorrow" Fayt stood up and turned to Cira "Would you care to join me? I could escort you to your room"

"Remember who beat who today" She winked at him.

"I was trying to be polite, but if you put it that way, wanna escort me to mine" He grinned as some of the group began to laugh.

Kain was growing bored with the convertation of the others, he waited a few moments long as he heard Fayt ask Cira if she wanted to be escorted. Kain didn't stay for the result, he left the garden and walked into the hall back to his room, Nimcaznim had finally stopped groaning.

"Feeling better now demon?" Kain asked sarcastically, the demons voice remained silent. Kain continued to walk trhough the halls, looking to see who would be stalking them at this hour. To his surprise noone walked through the blackness, only the moon shined through the opened windows, he took a deep breath as he walked through the halls.

Taking in the cold air, he made his way into his room and lite a light in his room, he removed his cloak and tossed it on a hook he saw on the back of his door. He then un clipped the armor and lied it at the end of his bed, he disarmed and placed Kraven under his pillow and Nimcaznim the sword next to his bed. He took off his shirt and pulled off his boots, he lied down on the bed and slowly closed his eyes.

"Fianlly get to rest and see what is instore for the rest of us tomorrow." Kain said yawning and falling quickly into sleep.

The conversation wanned and Nepenthe felt her body growing tired. At a break in the flow of words, she stood quietly and gave a deep curtsy to everyone still present.

"It's been pleasant, but it's late and I am very tired."

"Yes, goodnight Nepenthe."

"Yes, sweet dreams."

Their voices called after her and she waved one sleeve as she headed upstairs. Nepenthe smiled and lifted her skirts with her left hand, her right resting against the cold stone walls, letting her feet carry themselves to her room. Either she was getting older or she was just very tired. Eventually, when she made her way back to her room, she found her door standing shut. With a wave of her hand, she undid the lock and went inside.

Once there, she locked the door again and walked over to her bed. With steady movements, she untied her kirtle and slid into the sheets, dressed in her undergarments. Carefully, she raised the blankets up to her cheeks and turned to her left side. Her hair fanned out in a dark cloud on the white linen pillows and seemed to flare itself out without her arranging it. Her eyes closed and her lashes meshed together. Other people rested in the castle, but Nepenthe, for which she was named, dreamed quiet dreams...

.....Dreams of calm quiet and forgetfulness. Nothing too strenuous. Just....dreams...

Leonardo did not have to conclude any conversation before heading off to bed ? he had remained relatively silent during the friendly exchanges. The entire thing felt awkward to him; openly talking with complete strangers, giving others his background and intimate events in his life. To top it all of, Leonardo was too shy for his own good, so it was natural he observed rather than interact.

He had slipped away after finding Noah as a potential friend, content that his day had been a successful one with that event crowning the rest of his achievements. Finding someone with so close a bond was rare, and if a bond between auras developed to be strong, the pair would become stronger both mentally and physically.

He walked at his leisurely pace into his quarters, and took his time undressing, and putting everything in order for tomorrow. Satisfied that all his belongings were accounted for and ready, he blew the candle out next to his bedside, and let the darkness envelop him.

The next morning, he would rise early to have another walk around the grounds.
OOC: Sorry for the length ? but there?s not much to say. If anyone wants to interact with him in the morning, go ahead.

Noah was the last person remaining on the bench, he stared up at the night sky, just thinking about everything that had developed since he arrived in the city.

Noah had succeeded in the first task of retriving five diamonds from the creatures in the desert; he'd made it through the second task, which had been special to him, since he was given the once-in-a-lifetime chance to revive; and he'd been accepted as a member of the group for the quest. The newest development was the bond that had formed between his and Leonardo's auras.

He said and finally got up from the bench, he slowly made his way back through the castle and to his quarters. He noted how the castle was silent at night, all that could be heard were the sounds of night; animal calls, the wind, the sound of water.

Noah entered his room and found it was somewhat stuffy so he flung open the window, which immediately made a large difference. He lay down on his bed and thought for a while. In the morning he would search out Leonardo and find out about the bond that happened to them. Noah fell asleep quickly, he relaxed as there were no dreams.

It seemed as though everyone had gone in, so Carthre stood alone in the grounds, staring at the moon as it glowed gently in the dark night sky. It really was beautiful.

It was getting late, and Carthre was getting tired again, and cold from standing outside for too long. He wrapped his arms around himself, and walked slowly up the stairs back to his room.

Tomorrow was going to be a big day, and he needed all the sleep he could get. That was his thinking. So he opened the door to his room, and fell on the bed, falling asleep again almost instantly.

The beast was there. A huge, lumbering, eight-legged spiderlike beast, mandibles dripping with venom. Carthre held his two swords up, crossed over each other in an X-shape, trying to protect himself from the beast. It clambered up the walls, tiny spikes on the ends of its legs digging into the solid rock of the cave walls.

Terror sweat dripped down Carthre's face, but his eyes were a vision of pure anger and courage. He walked slowly towards the spider, and then it happened. The spider leapt from the wall, landing on Carthre, who fell to the floor, his legs buckling. He drew one of the swords up and rammed it into the spider's belly. But the hard shell of the spider's natural armour shattered the sword into hundreds of pieces. The spider reared its head up and brought its mandibles down onto him, the venom piercing through his neck and coursing into his bloodstream. Everything went black, and he felt himself slipping away...

Carthre awoke with a start. He had never had that nightmare before. In fact he had never even had a nightmare before, except for one when he was four years old about a monster that lived under his bed. He felt his face, and his hand came away dripping with sweat. His entire body was drenched, and his sheets were soaked, sticking to him.

A shaft of pale sunlight was coming through the curtains, so Carthre opened them and stared at the sun coming up over the horizon. It was a beautiful day...

Yuri looked out upon the city from his castle chambers as a gentle breeze blew through. Wearing only a silver silk robe, sliding across his muscluar form, he looked up at the moon and let out a deep sigh as he finally began to relax himself...knowing that his decision on those individuals he chose were the right ones.

Looking at his sword resting in the corner of his room, the lettering on the blade suddenly pulsed a bright red as he looked upon it.

Turning away from it, he layed himself down upon his massive bed and easily fell to sleep...tomorrows events flooding through his mind...preparing himself for what he was to tell everyone...

That night...Yuri dreamed...

Yuri was standing in the middle of a circle made of seven golden chairs. Each chair was decorated in its own unique designs.

Suddenly, four of the chairs burst into flames and melted their golden frames and became nothing.

In a blinding flash of light three chairs now stood before him...then again...this time two of the golden chairs suddenly exploded leaving only one before him. And if one cue...a ghost appeared sitting on the golden chair and rose to meet eye to eye with Yuri...and he certainly recognized who it was...

Then the dream ended....

Yuri sat up straight in his bed and rubbed his eyes as the sunlight blinded his vision...

It's time...

Nepenthe woke early, and walked over to the window, looking out at the brand new day. Her eyes closed half way as she took in the brilliance of the sunrise. She closed her eyes completely, rubbing her eyelids with her fingers. Then, refreshed, she made her way over to the vanity table and sat. She spread a towel over her lap, poured herself a fresh bowl of water from the pitcher and washed her face with lavender soap. Eventually she dried it, then folded the towel away. Looking in the mirror, she unbraided her tresses and began to run a brush through each bunch of long dark hair.

She hummed to herself as she stroked, eventually rebraiding all of her hair back and up in the manner of most courtly ladies. Then she turned and changed her dress to a fresh one, then pulled on a dark purple dress, with gathered sleeves and a full skirt falling from the princess cut bodice. She selected silver earrings and inserted them into her ears slowly, clasping each carefully. When she was finished, she turned and looked at herself in the mirror. She felt, rather than heard, the voice of her mentor, counselling her to do well this day.

"Do not do anything to shame me."

"I never would Mistress."

The enchantress bowed to her mistress's wishes, and pulled on her shoes, walking outside into the hallway and raising her sleeves over her face automatically. Once she made it down, a functionary guided her into the main hall. Apparently she was the first awake. Not that she minded.

Cira woke softly to the warm sunlight slipping through the pale blue curtains that drapped across the window. A soft wind blew them up and this is what allowed the sun to seep through.

Cira rose slowly, a smile upon her face. Despite the fact that she had stayed far too long in the company of Fayt last night after taking him back to his room, she had much enjoyed her time. It had been sometime since she was able to enjoy the company of another. Fayt was a welcome sight and breath of fresh air for her. He didn't try to seduce her, make any passes, and was naive enough to keep war and fighting out of the conversation. Had she been a simple school girl she might have had a crush on the lad, but such trival matters were beyond her at this moment.

Cira pulled the lavish covers from her toned body to reveal that she had slept nude. The delicate curves of her body moved perfectly as she slid from the bed, pulling a robe from the chair that was sationed next to the bed, and sliding it over her slight frame. She tied it around her waist and approached the window.

Looking below, Cira saw Commander Yuri making his way to the Courtyard and across from him was the lady Nepenthe exiting her halls and out onto the stone walk way. She smiled softly in thought before turning to bathe quickly and then dress. She wore a pair of brown slacks with leather boats, and a find tunic with a leather corset over it to help give her bustline some support. It was nothing too flattering, but it would serve her well.

Cira looked about the room quickly, grabbing her sword and daggers from their resting place and strapping them to various postions on her body. She smiled one last time before exiting the room. She made her way down the long hallway and out into the courtyard, slowly pacing towards Nepenthe.

"We did not get the chance to properly introduce ourselves last night. I must say that I'm highly interested in your...profession, let us say, and your background. Maybe when we get time during this little trip of ours you can tell me more about yourself." Cira bowed her head softly at the finely dressed woman, not really sure how to conduct herself in front of one that was trained by royality.

Kain awoke to the sunlight striking his eyes, he sat up with sleep in his eyes. His hair was all sorts of tangled and twisted, the sheet edges had left impressions on his face and chest. He rubbed his face and his eyes to get all the sleep out, he rolled his neck and rubbed it, he rolled his shoulders stretched. He stood up and made his way to the bathroom, he found fresh water sitting in the wash bowl with a clean towel, he splshed some water on his face and on his back. Getting in the shoulder blades and all the muscles.

"Sore this morning." Nimcaznim said, chuckling lightly.

"Very, last nights arguement was not very fun for me demon. I was the one who had to deal with the soreness in the morning." Nimcaznim laughed louder this time, Kain laughed sarcastically.

"Laugh it yup Nim, Laugh it up. You'll get your's in the end. Bastered." Kain said as a last remark, Nimcaznim fell silent and Kain went through a morning rutine. After he had washed his body, cleaned up his hair and relieved most of the soreness, he got his clothes and suited up. He put his shirt back on and clipped his armor, he mounted his weapons and pulled Kraven from under his pillow, he grabbed his sword and slid it back into the sheath. He stepped out into the hall and looked around, making sure that noone was roaming the halls, he walked down the halls thinking of last nights fight with the demon.

He didn't remember much of it, but he did remember them yelling at eachother about the job Nimcaznim had for him. He wouldn't give him details, he just told Kain that he had to kill an enemy of his. Kain wanted specifics on what he was going to be up against, how and what he was suppose to kill, Nimcaznim just kept saying he would know when the time came. Kain lost it form that point and attacked the demon, the fought in his dream, beating and pulverising eachother.

Since it was a dream they both were of equal strength, speed, and agility. But Kain had to suffer the results in the morning, the acheing muscles, sore hands and bruised ribs. But he would survive, he was strong enough to withstand a beating from a creatuer such as Nimcaznim. He made his way through the halls slowly, looking through the open windows to see what kind of day was instore for him.

Fayt lay sprawled across his bed, his body barely covered by blankets. Naturally he rolled his body away from the sunlight that infiltrated his room, as he pulled the covers up retreating into a ball. He began to re enter the somber sleep when he felt a sharp pain on the top of the head.

"Ouch, what the hell was that for!" He exclaimed at Shadow, who stood pecking at his head.

"Damn you, remind me to thank you later" Fayt added with a smirk as he sat up, releasing a yawn.

He stretched his arms then cracked his neck before getting up walking over to the table. He slowly poured water into a bowl resting on the table, then he dipped his hands in the clear liquid and splashed his face.

He and Cira had talked into the night, later then either of them expected. They never really talked about anything relevant, it was normally random and fun. Fayt enjoyed her company, though he still knew little about her, and it seems he had blabbed everthing about himself to her the first day they met. He couldn't help it though, he felt like there was a bond between them. He wasn't in love, though maybe one day and it wasn't intimate or sexual, maybe spiritual but he just felt comfortable around her. Hopefully the bond he felt would prevail in combat as well as trials they where going to face.

Focusing back to getting ready he walked over to his stuff and slid on black linen pants before slipping on his armored boots. He rumaged around through his stuff before he found the mate to the outfit, a black linen shirt. He fininshed off dressing himself by putting his belt on, daggers hanging from thier sheaths. Fayt grabbed Caspar fitting the strap around his shoulder as he walked out the door.

The crisp morning air greeting him warmly as he made his way to the courtyard, eager yet nervous to see what the new day would hold.

Nepenthe laughed very softly, her voice barely brushing above a whisper.

"I'm not royalty you know. Everyone seems to think I come from a house of high birth. That's silly though. Just because I work under royalty doesn't make me better than anyone else."

"Nobody could tell by your manners."

"Oh...those. Well I try to be as gentle as possible. And as for my profession, nobody knows about it besides the people I'll be working with now and Yuri of course."

"Why the secrecy?"

"It's hard to say. But I don't like to advertise it. Sometimes it makes people uncomfortable."

The enchantress raised her hand over her face slowly, then brought it back down again. Ciara looked slightly uncomfortable, so Nepenthe didn't laugh again. It was still very funny to her though. Everyone treated her like she was a precious commodity, but she wasn't really. At least not in her mind. Still. It behooved her to put the people around her at ease.

"Just act as you normally would."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm your equal. Just don't forget that part."

Ciara blushed, but tried her best to relax.

Carthre looked at the sun coming up. It was coming up to morning. He thought that he should get up, and try and ignore the dream of the previous night. After dragging himself out of bed, he pulled on some fresh clothes, and washed his face and hair.

He jogged slowly down the steps to the main courtyard, and almost everyone else was there already. He looked at the ground in front of him, not looking up to make eye contact. He was a little ashamed of the fact that he was almost the last one to get there.

Commander Yuri was nowhere to be seen, and the others were all standing around nervously, not quite knowing what to do with themselves.

After a little while, the others arrived, and Commander Yuri strode out in front of them...

"Goodmorning" his voice was calming and soothing as it echoed throughout the entire hall. The kings throne was behind him in their view as they all seated themselves at the grand table. The King nor the Queen were in sight as the doors all around the hall began to shut. Everyone could hear the noise of a lock being operated as they turned their attention towards Yuri who continued to stand.

He wasn't wearing any official clothing of the Minbar army at all...simply a white shirt which seemed worn for quite some time, and black pants. His metal bracer was strapped on which went from the top of his right arm all the way down to his hand which formed into a metallic glove.

His massive blue broadsword was strapped to his back as his long blonde hair dangled over his shoulder all the way down to his lower back.

"Thank you all for coming...and not only on behalf of the entire Minbar Kingdom, but from me not only a Commander, but as a friend...wonderful job in your tests."

Everyone in the group nodded in appreciation as they shifted in their chair to have full attention upon Yuri.

"I have chosen all of you for a quest of the most highest importance. And all of you will have a fital part and purpose in this...in order for the prophecy to be fullfilled."

"It is said...that the world was born out of evil, but I ask you this question...can evil not love...can evil not show kindness and care for another.?"

Noah rose his hand and answered..."No...because it defy's the logical definitition of someone being evil."

"Very good Noah.......that is the answer...from your point of view..." Noah was surprised at this answer...as well as everyone else.

"We all have a sense of evil, or darkness in our hearts...as Noah just said...to do bad things to others...the complete opposite of good. But I say this...not one of us is perfect. And everyday, most of us strive to do good to make some worth and meaning in our lives. But I ask you this, why is it so much harder to do good, rather than to be bad."

"Let me tell you a story of the most ancient of stories...when the earth was young, two men held all the knowledge and power in the world while the gods stayed in heaven to never interfer with the lives of men...each ruling their own kingdoms...one in the east, and one in the west."

"One was named Chrono...who's powers were based upon his emotions while the other named Reinhardt...drew his power from his mastery and control. Both men were devoted to their people, and lived in peace with one another for a thousand years. The gods blessed them with years beyond sight...and in their time they trained men and women, boys and girls in the sacred arts of their powers."

"In their time...is was the year 1599...when the new year would be falling upon them. They lived in a society such like are own, and threw a huge celebration. During the festivities...a fight errupted in multiple cities across the world. No one knew why...but both Chrono and Reinhardt blamed one another."

"We've come to understand now in our day in age that Chrono had had a history of violence and jealousy against Reinhardt...but never fully pledged upon those emotions. But we also know that Reinhardt knew this...and issued the attack. In our view of histor...Reinhardt was the 'good one,' and Chrono was evil."

"In each others view however, Chrono believed that Reinhardt was evil, and Reinhardt from his position saw Chrono as evil. And thus...the great war began."

"With their powers...they killed millions...billions...till the earth ran red with blood all across the lands. The gods decided that the world was lost...and sent literally...reset the world."

The group was in dead silence...finally Nepenthe rose her hand and spoke..."Reset my Lord."

"Yes Nepenthe...just as it sounds...the Gods decided to destroy the planet...and reset life as it was when it first began."

"What happened to Chrono and Reinhardt Commander Yuri?" added Carthre.

"Good question...both men died...but their powers were so great that the gods hid them away in the darkest places of the earth. But since the gods could not interfer in the lives of men...they created a third power...one to destroy the foolish struggle between Chrono and Reinhardts ideals...the ultimate darkness...the very power they both feared in one another."

"This is the source of all evil...not Satan...even though demons do exist...fallen gods who've been cursed to this plain. This power...rules everything that the gods are not...and it is dormant...just like the powers of Chrono and Reinhardt...each with this own unique qualities."

"Three years ago...my father discovered that the world has been reset many times after the time of Chrono and Reinhardt. That the human race has failed more than once...and only a year ago...we discovered that the Gwar had discovered a tomb that may hold one of these powers."

"Have the Gwar taken the power by now?" questioned Cira.

"No...thankfully there is something protecting the Temple that has killed everything that has come within a mile of it. Trust me...we've tried..."

"Then what does that have to do with us?" responded Kain in a sarcastic tone...

"Well...after my father died...I read in his journal that if eight warriors of all sorts approached the temple and defeated its protector...that eight tests would follow before the power was revieled. And that this sword was the key..."

Yuri raised up his sword and showed the marking that ran along each side...

"These marking are the words of the gods...no one can read them yet...but they do contain something within them. This has been in my family for the past two thousand years...and has been passed down from one son to another."

"This mission is to be the most secret of all things...and we must make haste before the Gwar figure out a way to enter the temple before us...our very existance depends on it."

"The temple is located ironically on the boarder of our three great kingdoms...so hostility is a definite...but survival is a must if what my father says is true. We'll be passing many towns...but after we pass the city of Azgarth...there is only wilderness..."

"So when do we leave" commented Kain once again who seemed to be getting excited....

"We leave now...grab what weapons and supplies you believe we'll need and be ready to leave before sundown."

Secretly, Nepenthe wasn't surprised that their work would involve the death of a great power. But either way, she knew it would mean a lot of trouble on her part, and perhaps even certain death. Even so, she didn't mind so much. It was her destiny, like her mentor was wont to remind her every time she gazed into a reflective surface for more than a few moments. It had taught her to avoid too many of those, unless of course it was a good idea to start a conversation with a corpreal being while others were around.

Nepenthe walked back upstairs, leaving the courtyard as soon as Yuri had dismissed them. Mentally, she reviewed everything she wanted to bring with her. It wasn't much. Her stilettos were already in her sleeves, where they had been ever since she had gotten dressed that morning. Seeing as how they would probably travel in rain and cold weather, she entered her room and made a beeline for the closet where her garments were hanging.

With sure hands, she removed her cloak. Long, dark, made of lilac purple cloth, and with a hood to match. It was heavy, as one might expect, but she carried it well, and easily enough on the frame of her body. From a small box, she withdrew a small vial hanging on a silver chain. This she slipped over her head and around her neck. Inside glinted a small amount of spider's blood. It was incredibly useful in dispelling magic; a secret only a select few ever knew, and one that Nepenthe had bought at great pain. Then she closed the box once more and put it away. From a drawer, she withdrew an extra change of clothing and folded it under her skirt, fastening it firmly at her belt.

Finally, she walked over to the mirror mounted on the wall and checked her reflection. With a quick movement, she flipped her loose hanging hair behind her head, twisted it back and pinned it up with the enchanted silver pins that were her only birthright. Thus equipped, she returned downstairs, bidding the room she had made her home for several days goodbye.

Noah had listened to Yuri's speech attentively, paying close attention to everything he said in case it was vital to the quest. When they were asked the question he had answered with a scientific perspective, that evil is evil, and cannot love or care. He was surprised at the response he got in return, he had never thought about it that way.

When they were dismissed Noah debated whether he should talk to Leonardo, he hadn't been able to find him earlier. Noah decided not to, instead he would talk to him later, they'd have plenty of time to discuss things while they travelled.

He returned to his quarters and brought his bag out from beneath the bed where he had stored it. He began to slip all of his items into their respective places. Noah travelled a lot and knew where everything belonged in his bag so everything would fit and sit comfortably on his back.

He closed the windows he had flung open last night and took a look around the room in case he had forgotten anything. With everything taken care of, he slung the bag over his shoulder and closed the door after he exited, and went out into the courtyard again.

Even though he had only stayed at the castle for a few days, it felt like a home. He wandered around, just making memories.

Carthre ran upstairs to his room, slightly stunned about everything that Commander Yuri had just said. He had come to the city to try and join a group that would be going on a mission, but he had just assumed they were going to claim some newly discovered land, or at the very least go on some sort of covert mission to Gwar, but he had never expected anything like this. The success or failure of this mission could result in the destruction of the world.

"I'm not used to this kind of pressure," he said, looking at himself in the mirror, "I've never had to save the world before. Why am I talking to myself in the mirror. I've got packing to do."

He grabbed his cloak and a few essential personal items, throwing them into a small bag. He knew that he couldn't take too much stuff, as this would be a long journey, and heavy packs would only slow them down. He threw on some clothes that he would need to take, and grabbed his swords, sheathing them on his back, so it was easy to get them out in a battle situation, and put the bag on top of them. He had his black travelling jacket on, so he wouldn't get cold if they had to venture further north, and his armour plates were firmly attached. He walked out of his room, and down the stairs to the courtyard, where he dropped his belongings and waited for the others to come...

When they were dismissed Kain thought about what they had been told, he was excited about soemthing for the first time in a long time. Nimcaznim was excited to, the power that was told in the story was what really caught his attention.

"Kain, I have a new job for you." Kain sighed and had grown irritated with Nimcaznims intrution.

"What is it now?"

"I need you to achieve this power, so I can be resurected." Kain laughed lightly.

"And why would I want to resurect you demon?" Nimcaznim chuckled.

"Because I could give you anything you desire, anything at all. It will be within my power to do."

"Demon, it was hard enough to kill you the first time. I don't want to have to to it again, especially since you have invaded my mind and seen how I fight and my tactics."

"Again, there would be no need to kill me. You could be a god amongust men, we could rule this planet together we could..."

"Enough!" Kain yelled in an angered toned at the demon.

"I will not take part in your plans of world domination. You are a demon. Your words mean nothing to me. Your promises are twisted and misleading, you say one thing but mean another. You use humans and anything else to your advantage. Let me tell you something Nimcaznim, I am not a weak minded human. I can do as I please and your plans will not be fulfilled through me. There is nothing you could give me that I want because there is nothing I want from you."

Nimcaznim silenced and Kain resumed his walk through the halls. He made his way into his room and only packet things he could carry on his body, checking his weapons, checking for anything wrong with his clothes or cloak. He found nothing and headed down to where he had to wait, getting ready for this new adventuer.

Leonardo was rather agitated by the end of the mission briefing, mostly attributed to the fact that Commander Yuri had stated quite frankly that evil could do good. Evil could love, evil simply was not evil. His philosophy epically clashed with what had been said, and he had to restrain himself, with all his might and composure, from bursting out and demanding outright that he retract his erroneous logic.

?But it?s over?? he sighed to himself, as he walked to his quarters. With each passing step, a well of anxiety lay siege to his calm nature, making his heart flutter with anticipation and fear of saving the world. He and his companions, in all reality, would perish. They were a band of unrefined rookies, facing odds stacked heavily against them. And still they chose to continue. In the middle of his stride, he stopped immediately, and fought to even draw breath, his chest buckling underneath the waves of stress that washed over him.

Noah passed his comrade, who was propped against the stone wall. He felt his aura pass without laying physical eyes upon him, and felt his hesitation as he kept his course, moving toward his own quarters. After the ache in his chest had subsided, he walked into his room, where he loaded a small pouch of his belongings for the trip. A light waterproof cloak, two glass vials, and a book of menial spells.

He departed after lingering about, inspecting the drab room with an impassive eye, and wondering why Yuri had chosen to quarter the future saviors of the world in a stone apartment. The idea left his mind, as he had much to think about, setting off to the courtyard. To his surprise, his path converged with Nepenthe whom was carrying an equally small bag of luggage. Neither one of them opened their mouth, and instead they walked, cherishing the silence that lingered between them. He glanced at her aura, and found it wrapped up behind layers of mysterious barrier and protection from outside inspection.

It was of great curiosity to him how she managed to hide so much of her aura, and with such ease as well. He fought the urge to question her about it, and instead kept his gaze straight ahead into the courtyard, to which he was approaching.
