BlackTigerGurl
Some churches are full of crap. Most of them just want money and aren't really into God or believe that Jesus was his son. I know. Some churches try to hard to be Christian. Churches say that anime posions our minds by doing drugs or teaching violence. But that's not true. Just being in the this world is posioning us. There is violence everywhere you look. Down the street, at the mall, even in your own home. If they say anime is posioning us then they need to say that the world is. Anime is just proving the violence in the world. But anime also shows how creative human beings are. Shessh, we're making money that is all. I don't think anime is posioning my mind even if I may act some things out on it. Heh. But people who watch anime and do the things they do on TV make is wrong. If some people would stop doing wrongful things then maybe (but doubt it) churches wouldn't think that anime is posioning. ~BlackTigerGurl~ :catgirl:
EVA Unit 100
My advice to you is..... Become a Atheist. I do not believe in god I am not weak minded... Its that simple. People believe in god because people say he is real.... Well why do you need to believe in god?
You're treading into areas that might be offensive to religious people in this part of your post. Personally, I'm Jewish and entirely believe in God, but not because people say "He" is real. And I don't need to believe in God. I don't have to play sports or do extra credit homework either, but I do anyway. Why? Because I feel that it's good for me, and if it makes me feel good and doesn't hurt anyone else, why shouldn't I? Actually, I'm not so sure I'd want to call God a "He" or a "She" at all, for that matter. In my understanding of it, there has to be some reason the universe exists, and since we don't know what that reason is (yes, we do know that the Big Bang started the universe, but we don't know why the Big Bang had to even happen), why not refer to this unknown theory of purposefulness as God? Maybe I'm thinking wrong, but in unknown territory, we could all be thinking the wrong thing. Maybe the universe is all just a toy of a bunch of rubber alien socks who are illuminations of a brain trapped in a vacuum of nothingness. But that idea just doesn't fit with me, and the theory of God does. I can deal with everyday life, but I'm a thinker who needs things to think about. And religion gives me those things to think about. BTW, my tutor from my synogauge loves Harry Potter and we play rock music at Bar Mitzvah parties. Also the guy who leads the childrens' services considers Spirited Away to be a good movie and I think one time somebody did a D'var Torah on The Da Vinci Code. No problems there for me. Starwind
Over all, the fundamentalists christians need to shut the ******* up!! They have there little religion and they can worship all the crosses they want, but that dosen't mean they can decide what is okay for use to talk about and wear and watch. That violates our constitutional rights as americans. The church isn't doing the work of god, there expanding there power with threats like: If you Mas******* now you won't get to hang out with Jesus. My question is, if god is an unknowable force who are they to tell us Anime is evil. I will never stop watching anime no matter what the roman nome says and my advice to you is to switch to public
Prince Van
If this was happeneing to me, I would say that God gave us free will and if he believed it was the work of the devil, he would entrust to choose our own path and I'd say that my choice would to be watch it and nobody can do anything about it, including God. fizerin
Never. Not true. Cannot exist. Hateful. God had betrayed me, I don't give a rat to the church. Anime is my life. I learn more about life through anime.
Guest bebopgirl13
I've been slightly offended by things in this thread...I'm Catholic, and I've never ever heard anyone in my church say that there's anything wrong with anime. Yes, the crazier religions are all like "OMG(osh), FANTASY IS EVILLL! WE MUST BURRRRN IT!", but otherwise, things are pretty quiet. Remember, churches have become more relaxed in the past century. They realize times are changing. Though maybe not totally "up-to-date", they get the whole thing about new ideas. One of my friends goes to a Catholic school, and all he whines about is how boring and strict it is. ^^;; One of my new friends used to go to one, and hasn't really said anything bad about it. We've talked about starting an anime club at school, and he has never given a hint that his former school wouldn't allow it. Still, I wouldn't be suprised if some weird cult made the world's third-biggest bonfire by burning all the manga from bookstores in a thirty-mile radius...Just proves how dumb humanity can get when they're bored.
hey im mllry but i changed my account to bebopgirl13. i understand. i go to an episcaple church school. some of my teachers dont care they just say its plain old japanese animation. but some say its demonic like on inuyasha(wich thats my fav. anime) i wasnt trying to offend you or anything i was just trying to tell it like it is. bbg13
BlackTigerGurl
For all those that say screw the churches and other things, that is just proving to them that anime is demonic. Keep it clean. If you show them how 'impure' you are they could start a protest against anime to ban it from the state. Let me tell ya, some churches have tried it before. I looked it up once. Eva10
Im Catholic and proud and im pretty mad at what some of you atheist are saying. If your Christian school is saying anime is demonic they might think your using it as a substitute for God.
Shadow Blade
I go to a Christian school and I cant even talk about anime in front of the teachers. One time I brought a Yugioh folder and the principal threw it away.[/SIZE']
How Devastating....... Been there before. My religion was all against anime/manga, rock music, and various type of people. Because the church was against anime/manga and rock music my relatives were always on my back. But fortunately I didn't budge and so they sort of got use to the idea. Now a few of relatives are starting to see the light and understand that the devil doesn't live in the animation or the manga, there is no masktaping behind the various stories, and there is nothing satanic about the charaters. However my suggestion is to continue to follow the things that interest you (like yu-gi-oh, and other anime that you admire). Just because the church is against anime doesn't mean you have to drop all your ties to anime/manga. I guess that it all depends on you, whether or not you belive that the Devil is using anime/manga to persuade you to go to hell. If you don't believe that anime is wicked then continue with your admiration for the animation.
