DeathKnight
The island of Asgard. It is a place with a history of brutal violence and unstoppable chaos. It wasn't always like this. Asgard has been many things over the years- it was first built as a military outpost whose mission was to keep an eye on regional developments. When peace was firmly cemented in the area it was morphed into an out-of-the-way research installation whose officially-stated business was 'Meteorological and Oceanographic' studies. In actuality it was a government research facility that tinkered with genetics, mucked around with the concept of ESP and other 'questionable' projects. Most of their research actually showed much promise but it's shadiness forced the government to close it before the general public found out of it's existence- and what it had been doing. The 'specimens' [average joes and janes] were simply integrated into the next incarnation of Asgard- a prison. This prison was full of outcasts- but not all of them were guilty of anything. Some were political scapegoats, some were framed- the innocents and the guilty mixed with the victims of the research institution. This created a very strange, volatile population that required an extremely heavy authoritative presence. This was handled by a garrison of veteran soldiers armed to the teeth and willing to stop any loss of order with extreme force. An uneasy, forced co-existence formed on the island. The administrative area took on the appearance of a capital city as more personnel were sent in to keep the peace. There was some hope within the minds of the less-guilty prisoners that the island was evolving into something more than their own personal hell. However, this brief glimpse of hope was not to last. The nation who controlled Asgard fragmented into warring states. The island was left with no master ruling over it. This spurred the more violent and ambitious of minds on the island to begin to consider starting a war of their own. Aiding this idea was the fact that many of the garrison were recalled to serve in the civil war, leaving behind a skeleton force that couldn't control the island efficiently. These violently ambitious convicts rose in insurrection against the weakened military presence. The other prisoners soon joined their revolution, hoping to find a way get out of their hell and start anew somewhere in the world. The skeleton force desperately tried to subdue them but, after a great loss of life on both sides, was defeated. In the last available aerial and sea transports they evacuated, leaving behind a unstable alliance of prisoners with no way off of Asgard and limited contact with the outside world. The differences within the alliance members caused fractures to form. The 'Asgardians' disintegrated into factions with differing ambitions. Some wanted power, some wanted to get out of there, others had the dream of turning the island into a respectable home- the differing lines of thought couldn't coexist peacefully. They took up the abandoned armaments of the military and turned on each other, reigning in a nightmarish period of bloodshed that lasted just over six months. Within these few months the population of the island was more than halved from it's high of 6,102 registered prisoners down to an estimated 2,800. They died from disease, from the scarcity of food and.. from bullets. The majority of the deaths came from the violent slaughter that was taking place as factions tried to gain a foothold in the abandoned military city. There was a growing resentment of these super-violent gangs due to their ignorant dedication to continuing the slaughter. Finally the resentment spurred action and a unified faction formed between several gangs. They fought the thinning ranks of these violent gangs out of the ruined city, sending them on a full retreat out into the wilderness. The ruined city was occupied by the victorious faction. Most of them were innocent or altered humans, but there were a minority of truly guilty people in the faction who sought redemption for their deeds. This faction, contrary to the alliance in the past, managed to remain unified and claimed the city as their own, naming it Nadine. They worked to reestablish communications with the outside world and, once they did, pleaded desperately for aid- food, construction equipment and otherwise. They found a philanthropic partner- the Autocratic Empire of Arcadia, one of the world's great powers. All other nations wanted nothing to do with the convicts so the leaders of Nadine were forced to agree to the Empire's offer. Asgard became a protectorate under the Empire- in doing so they gained plentiful aid, moral support and military protection. They also were granted limited autonomy. The not-so-victorious gangs banded together in a not-so-glorious fashion. Forced to survive with the limited resources outside of Nadine, they formed into a unstable community. They built for themselves a town. This town has no official name and hardly ever had an official ruler for more than a month in it's first few years. It's own residents usually referred to the town as being named Cadmus and that name became the common name for it. With scarce food, supplies or materials they began to launch raids into Nadine to acquire these things. With this weak influx of ill-gotten resources the town staggered to life. For thirty years these two communities have evolved differently. Nadine has turned into a wondrous city. The economy is focused on information technology and research, with tourism picking up in the last five years. There is a brisk business district full of shops, restaurants and boutiques. Most residents live in tall, impressive apartment complexes. Many people are immigrating to Nadine because of it's picturesque, tropical environment and low taxes. Nadine has an impressive police, fire and health system. It also has it's own self-defense force to defend it from any foreign incursions. Yet, over all of this, there is a melancholy feeling in the air. Seventy to seventy five percent of the citizens of Nadine are survivors of the violent string of events. The crimson stains of the past rest heavily on their minds and continue to affect their lives. The leaders of Nadine are a city council that consists entirely of survivors and their decisions have been increasingly 'influenced' by the Empire. Cadmus is the shadiest place on the planet according to most. It is a rogue's den of questionable individuals and their families. Many famous mercenary groups have their roots in this town. It gets it's resources from 'deals'- most of the city's economy is from types of 'deals'. It the mecca of black market activities. It's economy is focused on black market trades- many unscrupulous individuals exchange weapons, people, 'items' and otherwise in the shadows of Cadmus. All of this, and the city itself, is monitored and ruled by the Guild. The Guild seized power in a violent coup five years after Cadmus' founding and has silently led the city since. Raw materials and food flow into the city through various Guild connections and there is a growing prosperity in some parts of the town. The Guild also is the only location where jobs can officially be posted and taken, although officiality is hardly a concern for most of the citizens of Cadmus. However it is a concern for employers, so the HQ of the Guild is a popular spot as people meander in to get jobs. Immigration to the city is mainly other shady characters like themselves- outcasts of society going to the city of outcasts. We arrive at a period of time where the two communities must, once again, collide with one another. The Empress of Arcadia has grown tired of the "cesspit of Cadmus" and desires it's complete, total annihilation. She has persuaded the ruling Nadine council to launch a military attack at Cadmus to achieve this goal and offered the support of Imperial military forces, if necessary. In retaliation the Guild has issued a statement to it's residents that says, basically, "defend Cadmus or watch your homes burn to the Empire". It was a convincing argument and the majority of Cadmus' warriors, assassins and otherwise have registered at the Guild headquarters to fight for their city. Rage burns in the hearts of most as they view Nadine as having cast them out into this Hell in the first place- and now they seek to destroy what they have built from the desolation around them. Skirmishes have already broken out just outside of Nadine and the council has rejected the Empress's offer of help saying that it is a "local matter" that they will take care of. Both sides number in the thousands and both have a lingering enmity for the past that they share. Both are well armed, well motivated and prepared for a war of annihilation. ---- The most accurate map available of Asgard as made by cartographer Kenneth A. Howell; resident of Arcadia. The grey area represents the claimed city limits. This is the claimed area of the city and the two cities have probably not developed all the way out to this line. Geography of Asgard- Asgard is a sub-tropical island located far from most other nations aside from it's protector, The Autocratic Empire of Arcadia. It is unimpressive in size and natural resources. The world knows of it more for it's history and current inhabitants than for the island itself. It is, however, rather beautiful across the entire island and if true stability or peace is ever achieved it could easily become a haven for a thriving tourism industry. It's aproximate width, from the far end of Nadine to the research base, would end up being around 50-70 miles. You can further estimate it's size from there. Locations on Asgard- Deadwood Forest- A large grove of trees that serves as the unofficial borderlands between Nadine and Cadmus. The trees themselves are of a poor quality for building, not being fit for much more than to behold with the eye. Recent research indicates Deadwood to be a ecological haven for several rare species that are only found on Asgard itself so it's lack of use was a blessing in disguise. "The Gorge"- Unnatural crater that marks the site of a series of large explosions during the prisoners takeover of the island. Was a last ditch attempt by the authority to stop the oncoming army of revolutionaries. Many people died in the subsequent blast [rumored to be caused by a tactical nuclear weapons]. Now serves as a memorial to their hard-fought battles to take control of their island. Research Base Ruins- Ruins of the "Meteorological and Oceanographic Institute of Asgard". A taboo place for most on the island due to the stories provided by the altered humans of horrible experiments that cause them nightmares to this day. Some opportunistic treasure hunters have attempted to ransack the ruins on several occasions but only pieces of them were found, driving the public to even further lengths to not go there. The deaths remain unsolved to this day. Other Places- Asgard has not been extensively mapped or explored in the past thirty years due to a mix of laziness, apathy and lack of security. There is thee possibility of other landmarks, ruins or otherwise being somewhere on the island although this is regarded as unlikely. Geography of Nadine- Nadine is a growing, modern city with high-rising skyscrapers. It is divided into four districts that are interconnected by a lengthy rail system that services the entire city. Connecting the districts together is the central fifth district which comprises of administrative buildings- predominantly the high rising City Hall. It is regarded as being a metropolis in the making- all it needs is some real peace and security which is, unfortunately, increasingly lacking. The city's population is estimated to be 4,562. Locations in Nadine- "The Administrative District of the Imperial City of Nadine" aka Aesir's District- Central district. Main feature is the large, black skyscraper that was formerly used by the administration as their main office and now serves as City Hall. The City Council meets in a lavish room on the uppermost levels. Home to all offices integral to the daily running of Nadine and it's Self-Defense Force. Police and fire headquarters are located within this district. Also houses the educational facilities for the entire city- a complex for elementary, middle, high and university education. The university has become increasingly higher in quality and is on the threshold of being one of the better ones in the world. Infamous due to it's unappealing, unattractive military architecture dating back to the prison days. Midas' District- Northwest District. Holds the wealthy business area and port of Nadine. There are a few scattered, expensive apartments within it but it is mainly home to corporations and shops. The Port of Nadine is rather mediocre port as Nadine has no real export beyond information technologies. It is, however, somewhat busy as it carries in the necessary food and supplies from the Empire that Nadine needs. The residents of the northwestern district are rather wealthy, high ranking people- government officials, company executives, medical doctors and the like. The Dominion- Southwest District. Seaside residencies and research facilities dominate the district. Most of the altered humans seem to live in this district due to a demographic-wide "love of the ocean" [speculation abounds as to what causes this quirky trait of the Altered]. Home of the Nadine Medical Center. The research facilities here are mostly medical and electronics. Upper middle-class people live here. Mostly scientists of the labs or high-ranking workers in the businesses or port just to the north. Godheim- Southeast District. Predominantly military district. Houses barracks and storage facilities used by the Nadine Self-Defense Force. It is also home to the Nadine Imperial Military Academy, a local academy for the training of SDF hopefuls. Main residents are soldiers, officers or middle class families. There have been some problems with crime lately, but the government seems content with blaming it on individuals from Cadmus. Most people believe that to be true even if there is no proof of it. Heaven's Gate- Northeast District. Lower middle class and under. This district is mainly filled with the less fortunate of Nadine's citizens. It is purely a residency district with sporadic small businesses across it. Home of the most disgruntled of Nadine's citizens and the least supportive of the City Council. Called Heaven's Gate due to the fact the overtly-rich Midas district is, amusingly, situated just next door. Geography of Cadmus- Cadmus is unique in a negative way. It had no real urban planning placed into it's development so there are no districts, no divisions or any real order to where things are placed. There is no mass transportation system in place. The majority go on foot or motorcycle around their city and island. In the south half of the city is the large headquarters of the Guild which is nicknamed "Beast's Lair". The city population is estimated to be 5,790. Locations in Cadmus- Dragon's Heights- Northern half of Cadmus. Contains the Guild-operated Port of Cadmus which is, surprisingly, more impressive than Nadine's due to the heavy amount of black market shipments that roll in and out of the town. Residencies in this area are a mix of shithole tenements and reasonable estates. Even when living like this, many people in Dragon's Heights are rather well off- they have no desire to lavishly display their wealth in a town of thieves. Smart, that. Jotun's Pit- Southern half of Cadmus. Houses the Beast's Lair, home of the Guild. Most Guild officials live in the Southern half of Cadmus and rich homes are easier to come by. This is mainly due to the fact these homes are owned by Guild officials and you really, really don't want to steal from them. Other, more notable members of the community live there- famous mercenary bands, rogues and otherwise. Most of the stores in Cadmus are also located in this district- you can buy anything you can imagine in Jotun's Pit. If you want it, more than likely someone there has it. Beast's Lair- The Guild's headquarters. Known across the world as being the place to post shady jobs you want done quickly, correctly and without fuss. Frequented by a bevy of [in]famous people and even more hopefuls who want to be like them. The lower two floors are open to the residents of Cadmus- there, they can find jobs, inquire about jobs or collect the reward for jobs done. The third, fourth and fifth floor are where jobs are posted by clients. They are interviewed, the details of the jobs are written down and, if the job is accepted, it will be transferred down to the first two floors. Above that is where the rulers of Cadmus work, plan and conspire. Hardly anyone beyond top officials of the Guild are allowed up there. The People of Asgard- The Altered- Ex-specimens or descendants thereof. Illegally snatched from their lives as civilians and used for testing that unlocked or gave them abilities that normal people do not have. They are spread between the populations of Nadine and Cadmus, the majority being in Nadine. Regarded as being intensely melancholy for the life, home and innocence they once had. There are exceptions to this rule, but most are rather solemn individuals. Their abilities are respected, but not feared- they can die like any other human, after all. They are limited in number as well, most of them serving as scientists or soldiers for either Cadmus or Nadine. Most already have decedents whom are young adults that display the same sorts of abilities that they do. The Innocent- Ex-convicts. Sent there for crimes they did not commit. Mainly consists of intellectuals, politicians, military officers and people like that whom the government were paranoid of- thus, they end up on Asgard. 90-95 percent of them are currently in Nadine and most of those hold contempt for all the residents of Cadmus due to past events. As a group they have, with altered humans, turned Nadine from crumbling ruins into a high class city. They are not as melancholy as the altered humans in regards to their past, although they too lost their life, home and innocence. They are the second most populous group on the island and many have families. The Guilty- Ex-convicts. Sent there for crimes they did commit. 95-99 percent of them are currently in Cadmus, with a small minority of 'redemption seekers' living in Nadine. They hate the people in Nadine for forcing them out of the city and regard them as being pompous, arrogant tightasses who want to destroy the home they have built from nothing. Most of them are very, very good warriors, assassins and leaders from their time spent in Cadmus. They are the most populous group on the island. They hold considerable power due to their black market holdings and military capabilities. Families exist within Cadmus and most of the offspring have taken up the "family business". The Immigrants- Outsiders. Moved here for various reasons. Evenly split between Nadine and Cadmus. Consists of... anyone and everyone. Although it is predominantly two groups- Arcadians who have moved to Nadine for a new life and the numerous outcasts who have poured into Cadmus. Most brought their families with them or created a family for themselves on Asgard. The third most populous group on the island. The Next Generation- Those born on Asgard. Their ages range from teen to mid twenties, although there are a few older and younger than that. They are relatively new to violence and bloodshed, especially those borne in Nadine. That is, unfortunately, set to change. It is unknown exactly how many have been borne across the entire island thusfar. The future of Asgard seems to be in their hands even as war sits on the horizon. The Military Forces of Asgard- [Her Imperial Majesties'] Nadine City Self-Defense Forces- Numbering 2,148 they are the only "professional" army on Asgard. It is divided into two 1,000 or so man battalions- Ryu's Battalion and The Vanir Battalion. Both are supervised by Colonel Conrad Smith, an Arcadian with much success under his belt from other Imperial wars. From the battalion level they are broken into 5 companies [200 per] for either battalion. It goes on down from there into platoons, then into squads and finally into fire teams. This force is of a high quality- well trained, well armed and has a steady supply line coming in from the Empire. Drastically outnumbered, but definitely not outclassed, by the Darkfire Army. Armaments include the following. - Imperial Model VII Assault Rifle. Fires 7.62 × 39 mm rounds with 30 rounds [cartridge] or 80 rounds [drum]. A weapon produced by the National Imperial Armory. It is the standard weapon of all Imperial Forces throughout the world and is regarded with the utmost of respect for it's reliability, accuracy and rate of fire. - Imperial Model XX Semi-Automatic Combat Pistol. Standard, unremarkable sidearm for the Imperial Military Forces. Fires 7.63x25 mm rounds with 10 per cartridge. Mediocre in most regards. - Imperial Model II Body Armor. A body armor that protects from small arms fire. Supposedly standard issue- the Nadine SDF is unfortunately lacking in body armor. Nadine SDF officers, special operations and 'critical' personnel are issued this armor. - Imperial Model M Fighting Vehicle. The only fighting vehicle used on Asgard of any kind. Top speed of 30 MPH off road. 220 mile range. 20mm chain gun as it's primary armament. 7.62mm machine gun as a secondary armament. Available in severely limited quantities. [The Guild's] Darkfire Army- Most of Cadmus belongs to this 'army' [5,500 or so individuals]. There are no standard armaments, equipment or otherwise issued to this 'army'. The shops of Cadmus are brimming with assorted weapons of varying quality. This is a blessing and a curse- they can get very potent weapons but ammunition is sometimes limited and the quality of the weapons isn't always on par with the "official" armaments of Nadine's SDF. The leader of Darkfire is the enigmatic leader of the Guild who hasn't, until recently, spoken to his army or given them many orders. The organization of the Darkfire is haphazard at best but the leader of the Guild has a reorganization planned to prepare for the coming war. Examples of armaments are as follows. - Saturn 49. Medium machine gun. Uses a 7.62 x 51 mm round with 100 rounds available per cartridge. A favorite for many mercenaries for rate of fire, accuracy and punching power. - Hast AT09. Single shot anti-tank weapon. Used by Darkfire members to destroy the Imperial Model M Fighting Vehicle. Available in startlingly high quantities in Cadmus and is considered to be the bane of Nadine's M Fighting Vehicles. - Molotov Cocktail. "Everybody loves 'em. Gather around, they'll cure your frown, hey hey, yeah." A quote from Cadmus' only known minstrel. He lived a tragically short life. - Hellspawn Motorcycle. Standard vehicle of choice for those who choose to have one. Fast, rugged and powerful. Nice looking, too. The Outside Nations- Altered/Innocent/Guilty's Home Nation- Currently fragmented and mostly non-existent. Depressing, isn't it? The Autocratic Empire of Arcadia- A growing power located to the northwest of Asgard. Was, ironically, the reason why the military outpost was built on the island in the first place. Regarded with contempt by most of the world for it's "imperialist", "expansionist" tendencies against other nations. Currently involved in a war with several nations along it's border. Is ruled by a super-smart, super-sly Empress who has increased the empire's holdings considerably. Provides Nadine with everything it requires in return for loyalty. The rest of the World- Other nations have disliked Asgard since they first came into contact with them. Now that it is part of the Empire they have even more contempt for it. There are a few nations, however, who are starting to warm up to Asgard. This shows some hope for the future that cordial relations can be formed with most of the world, but there are no promises. ---- What is required: Name: First and last or a nickname/codename/whatever. Age: Keep it realistic. No 79-year old soldiers, please. You'd crack a hip. Gender: Should be easy to figure this out. Direct any questions to your local encyclopedia. City of Residence: Nadine or Cadmus. Put which district or half they are in if you so desire. No hermits or mysterious travelers. We don't like hermits or mysterious travelers on Asgard. Loyalty: To Nadine's City Council, the Empress, the Guild or yourself. You can switch this around in-game if you want. This is just how your character feels as s/he starts out. Even if you say "yourself" you will end up being drug into the entire war-mess, so remember that. Can't get out of it that easily. Job: What do you do to make money? Should mesh well with your residence. Not too many theoretical physicists in Dragon's Height, for example. Abilities: If you're an altered, shove your unique traits here. Beyond that, what are your fortes? Hand to hand? Thievery? Good with a weapon? Good at bandaging people up? Do whatever you want, it's your character. No demi-god characters. You can rock but not that much. Weapon of Choice: Ammunition is plentiful on Asgard [mainly due to Cadmus] but melee weapons are still very popular. Your choice. Make it match your character. Not too many people in Cadmus are packing an Imperial Assault Rifle and not too many Nadine Self-Defense Force members charge into battle with a dagger. Appearance: What do you look like? Pictures are accepted. Personality: How do you act? What are your quirks? Your likes? Your dislikes? Biography: Impress me. Words of Advice: I hope someone signs up for this, haha. Let's see, some advice. The setting is modern. The guns and equipment are modern as well. Do as you wish within the setting above. I will require you to be somehow involved in the on-coming war as that is the main focus of the entire RPG. Do as you wish- Leader of Nadine? By all means, go on. General of the Nadine SDF? If you are confident you can play those roles, do so. Just keep them on the island. The armaments provided are examples- you may dream up what you may.
Anti
Name: Zacherai Star-Wind Age: 22 Gender: Male/Next Gen Altered City of Residence: Nadine, Offical Residence is The Wind Clan-Lands in The Dominion. Loyalty: The city of Nadine, and in so far as it 'assist' Nadine, Arcadia. Job: SDF Officer - 1st Lieutenant Abilities:a Strong Vitiakinetic, or using ESP to heal the body and mind - Mainly focused in Algesis, the ability to turn someone's body against itself (ranging from the minor ability of causing inflamation, preventing one's body from being vulnerable to other Algesians, to causing major lacerations and the lungs to collapse) he has also learned enough of the 'positive' effects to heal minor wounds and/or stop excessive bleeding, against major wounds however, all he can do is numb the pain and hope the real medics arrive in time. He has standerd Military training in hand to hand combat and marksmanship, but is only avarage, his main focus in the academy being on how to lead. Weapon of Choice: uses a standerd issue Imperial Assualt Rifle in the field, and is rarely seen without a imperial pistol on him. He's also been seen to carry a pair of long knives, though he has never explained why, though he obviously treats them with great respect. Appearance: Zach is about six feet tall. He has dark brown, almost black, hair that he wears in shoulder length ponytail. His eyes are blue-grey and green, and over time they will slowly shift from one to the other. He has no other remarkable facial features, and is he is of a slightly skinny build, appearing to have long legs in particular. He most often wears his SDF uniform, which consist of: A large forest green hooded-cloak, with silver Lt insignia on the shoulders, a sleeveless dark brown belted tunic, forest green shirt, long brown pants, and combat boots. His pistol is holsterd on his belt, as are his knives when he carries them. Personality: Zach's life revolves around two subjects, his duty as a soldier-citizen of Nadine and his duty to his clan. He is 90% of the time thinking about how he can fufill his various responsabilities. He has few friends, most of his relationships can be described as commander-subordinate, and in most situations he is reserved, though less so with clan-mates and close friends. When he does allow himself to converse socioly, most people walk away with two impressions. An air of superiority, or arrogence, toward 'naturals'; and unyielding loyalty to his clan and Nadine. Militarly, Zacherai focuses on an emphasis of mobility and is a proponent of using the Armored Vehichles in the form of Calvery, however one of his greatest wishes would be to one day see the formation of an Asgard Navy. Biography: Zacherai was born to Sean and Hannah the Star House within the Wind Clan, first-born of three. Sean was an Innocent who was fiercly patriotic toward Homeland. His outspoken nationalism earned him more then one enemy, and so he was not entirly suprised when he woke up in a cement cell on Asgard. During his time in the prison, he associated with like minded Innocent. They took on the viewpoint that Asgard would be the home of them and their ancestors, and eventually renounced all former ties and formed into a new family - The Wind Clan. Due to his vocality, and willingness to defend his viewpoints, he was looked to for leadership, and was granted the first house of the clan as it's 'chief', Star. The clan also consist of the houses of Whisper, Twilight, Sea, Rustling, Terra, High, Storm and Dark. A decision during the early forming of the clan was to solidify the Clan's safety by forming close ties to many Altered - and all the clan innocents eventually married an altered with the purpose of propogating those genes. The clan wandered the general area of Nadine City during much of the chaos, until the Nadine Revolution, of which they were active particpants. After the Nadine Revolution, the clan settled into The Dominion area, The Altered members demanding to be close to the sea, and owns enough land for a small village - the land divided amongest the houses. Dark-Wind house is the only house within the clan that is not one of the origional innocent-altered parings, instead formed by a Guily and Altered. The house was on probation for many years - little trusted - being stumbled upon and adopted during the chaos, however after the Nadine revolution it was granted full 'clan-ship', and is now treated like all the others. After the forming of Nadine, Sean Star-Wind took up his old ways of nationalism, and preached a black and white view about Nadine, supported by fellow clans-men, to the children and citizens alike. To Sean, Nadine became Heaven on earth, and he places emphasis on loyalty to Nadine, only after loyalty to the clan, and all who oppose either are Demons. These traits - Duty and Loyalty, Clan then City - were the largest impressions left upon Zach by his father. Hannah Star-Wind contrasting Sean was very reserved, scared like so many other Altered from the test performed upon her. She fufilled her duties to clan and children, and her life consist of little else.Hannah's Viatakinesis was passed on to all of her children, who are even stronger then she is - the after effects of the experiments. The only time Zach rememebers her 'comming to life' was during the periods when she was teaching him or his siblings about how to use, train, and strengthen thier abilities. During these periods, Hannah often expressed her disdain for all natural's who did not regonize the 'superiority' of Altered, one of the few exceptions being the naturals in the clan. He has inherited this mindset from her, and firmly believes that the Altered are the future of all of humanity, looking down upon naturals as being 'unblessed'. Growing up within the clan, Zach is regonized as the heir to the head house, and was raised to one day take up the mantle of leading the clan. Growing up amongest the clan has also lead Zach to focus on devolping his 'talent', amongest the younger generation expecially, being a sign of strength. He is not particularly close with his Siblings, Rhiannon and Eric, being often praised by their father, or his 'generation-mates'. Despite this, he commands, and recieves, both respect and obediance, not only as the Heir, but for his ability. The clan, not entirely trusting the budding Nadine with their children's education, setup a home schooling system until the age of 16. The school put an emphasis on subjects such as the practicual applications of 'Talent', Math, and History (esspecially Asgard's). At 16, clan children are sent to acadmies within Aesir, in order to 'expose them to Nadine society'. They are also required to serve at least a term within the SDF to be regonized as a full adult of the clan, partially to protect Nadine, but to increase the chances of survival should chaos come once more. Zach followed the standerd plan, and served as a 'model' for the clan, At 16 both his school electives were Oofficer Training Corpse for the SDF, with the intention of having a military career. It was with this intent, that instead of focusing on the healing aspects of his abilities, like his siblings and mother had, he chose instead to focus on their other applications, only training in how to heal enough to ensure most wounded he came across would survive until real medics could assist them. At 18 he entered the Imperial Military Academy. There he excelled in his studies and showed himself to be an adept leader - though he also felt one of his weaknesses. At 21 he was commisioned 2nd Lieutenant. Due to Zach's personal beliefs, many naturals have problems 'dealing' with him. He never presents a problem to naturals above him, regonizing their authority, but many who serve under him chaffe under his holyier then-thou attitude. Shortly after he was commisioned, most the naturals under him requested transfers, which he was all to willing to allow as possable. In return he quickly built up a platoon consisting almost entirly of Altered, many of whom partly agree (if not more) with him. both during his school and as an officer he has often been chastised for such bearing, and as such has become further reserved. However despite his limitations, shortly before turning 22 he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant due to his platoon's outstanding performance during regular sweeps and military games, which he, privately, attributes in part due to the Altered superiority of his platoon. His platoon is currently on a 'rest' cycle, and he is on leave, visiting home during the cycle.

Aside from his alterd ability, he is able to patch up minor wounds, provided he has the materials and is farmilar with many styles of hand to hand combat. Sadly being a half breed means he has limitations, Though his tolerance for it is much higher, over exposure to heat can cause heat stroke and nausea. weapon of choice: Genarlly relies on his powers in longer range combat, but in close range he is familar with a Katanas very quick to the strike. He calls the sword 'Heart of Fire'. The blade of the sword has severel indentations that hold the fat and oils of those he has killed, by sliding these rugged edges against the sheath he can ignite the sword, furthering his ability. Appearance: He stands at 5'9 and has a muscular build. He has long black hair he keeps drawn back. He wears a heavy trench coat (where he keeps his sword consealed) and a black under shirt with black denim jeans. He has blue eyes and a fair complextion. He is regaded as handsome. Under his coat sleeves lie large steel gauntlets that serve for protection and hand to hand combat as well. Personality: Though he is sought by women he is only interested in the job. very no nonsense and kills without hesitation. A true silent assasign, being heard rarley even by those he works with. He prefers solo work, but still he will do almost any thing for the right price. He likes spicy and sour foods. He is almost agoreaphobic in his fear of crowds. He uses this to is advantage in battle allowing himself to lash out at his opponents in a paranoid fear and fury. He dosen't andswer questions nor does he ask them. He hates those who try to pry into his life and so he has no real friends, only associates. Biography:Born and raised in the jotun pits of Cadmus, he knows no other way of life and takes pride in his work. he lives alone due to his dissposition toward others. He was born of an alterd and a mercenary. His father,Kyle Eldmedie, was a mercenary in the same way that Garon is. He valued the mission and the excitement it brought more than his own son. He trained Garon to be a mercenary just as he was. He trained his son in guerilla military tactics so he might become a powerful force to be weilded by his father. His father was one who dreamed of great power and hoped his half breed son would attain it for him. Garon had a very strained relationship with his father in his teen years until his death a year ago. His mother, Kiya Soumble, was a 'specimen' from the research facility that was brought to the island when she was a teen. Garon has attained his pyrokenesis powers from his mother who he has had almost no contact with. The few memories of her is probably what kept Garon sane during his isolistic training under his father. His parents were never married. His mother went missing after a fight with his father, he thinks she fled to Nadine. Garon lives in an upper middle class home. he works almost constantly and hardly ever gets to enjoy it. he loves to hate his job, it's all he's good at and he has never even considerd another profession. he shares veiws of nadine similar to those of the majority of those in Cadmus. He has no desire to find his mother and is much happier letting himself be comforted by memory and fantacy, rather than truth. He lives for excitement and destruction, these jaded veiws left by his father. He dosen't care for friends and has none. He has had several women come after him for his money and his looks but he has no intrest in love, remnents left by his minimal relationship with his mother tha has left him emotionally detatched. He has worked numerous missions regarding Nadine recently and he's beging to realize that something much bigger is on the horizon.
Annie
Name- ?Mel? Blanks Age- 19 Gender- Female City of Residence- Dragon?s Heights, Cadmus Loyalty- Solely devoted to the Guild. Job- Darkfire Army, Scavenger Division. One of the most dangerous positions in the Army. Mel is one of a few dozen who choose to risk their lives every day to cross borders of Nadine and acquire ?certain t?ings?, and on special occasion, assassinate major targets. If caught by a Nadine soldier, the penalty is immediate execution or imprisonment (depending on the mood of the Nadine council). This position is hardly filled due to cowardice men and their determination to stay alive, no matter the situation. Abilities- Swift, agile, cautious, and very silent. Mel?s small body and keen sense of sight and hearing is very important to her job. Years of hiding by herself have tamed her breathing pattern and her ability to stay perfectly still for long periods of time. She plays ?dead? very well, and has very rarely gotten caught in the act. This all has been the key ingredients to her survival, and have allowed her to stay alive throughout her life and throughout raiding. Weapon of Choice- Scavengers aren?t normally equipped with guns, and most certainly not any sort of explosives. It?s trusted that their quick-moving abilities should be enough to sneak in and out without being caught. But out of rough experiences in her past, Mel carries a handmade dagger that is tucked away in a small pouch in the cuff of her right boot. The dagger is made of a sharpened, jagged shard of metal she found in one of the thousands piles of rubble. The blade itself is only three inches long, tip is sharp enough to penetrate to the bone. The handle is a piece of plexiglass, the edges worn and rounded from years of use and abuse, and is wrapped in a strip of soft leather. Appearance- Mel. Frail and small, she stands around 5?3? tall and weighs next to 115 pounds. She has a scar along the left side of her face starting from the top of her eyebrow to the corner of her mouth. Because of insecurities of herself and other people, Mel is never seen without her trench coat or long-sleeved shirts and jeans. She doesn?t take her trench coat with her on raids; causes too much noise. Personality- Years of solitude and servitude to being a Scavenger have conditioned Mel to be mute and sort of the ?underdog?. She?s the shadow in the back of a crowded room and prefers staying that way. Those who hunt with her know how kind and merciful she could be. They also know how brutal, morbid, and insane she is. Perhaps, and is given much thought, this is why she chooses to be alone and quiet. Mel is aware of her mental instability, but has little control over it once she?s provoked. Biography- Mel was born under the name of ?Melody Marcus? and to the parents Stanley and Barbara Marcus. Just like every other child in Cadmus, Melody?s childhood was no imaginary fantasy; it was hell. Her father was a merchant for a ship called ?The Black Bible?, one of the most recognized ships of the black market. He was hardly ever home, and when he was, it wasn?t joyous. See, Stanley was a miserable man (much like any other person in Cadmus) and loved his liquor, he also was a very aggressive man. And Barbara was quite the antagonizer, and pretty competitive. This amounted to no good late at night when Stanley came home drunk. The shouts and crashes of whatever they could pick up would stir Melody out of her sleep to witness horrible beatings and a disastrous theater of profanities. One night, the chaos stopped. Stanley had had enough of Barbara?s constant nagging, and Barbara had had enough of his drunken abuse. So, when Stanley came home, Barbara was waiting with a pistol. A few gunshots went off, and a few thuds. When Melody reached the living room, both of her parents lay in a pool of blood. Barbara had shot Stanley a couple of times in the chest, and Stanley had gotten a pocket knife into Barbara?s neck before he bled to death. She was only nine years old. Strangely, she was both happy and sad of her parent?s deaths. But, try as she might, Melody just couldn?t escape the pain of being alone. She had no other relatives, no friends. It seemed everywhere she ran in Cadmus was depressing and oppressing. All except one place, the one place Melody made her new home. It was, perhaps, the most beautiful buildings (if any buildings at all) in the city; the library. It was abandoned and half-demolished, but Melody found it to be the most peaceful place. She would regard it as her ?church? or ?heaven?. The library is where she taught herself the value of silence, solitude, and education; a luxury rarely afforded amongst children her age. She self-taught herself how to read aside from basic kindergarten ?ABCs?; the only good thing her parents did for her before they died. By the time she was twelve, Melody was reading high school level books and picked up every dusty, dilapidated book she could find to read. Food was always an issue for her, as it was for all poverty-ridden citizens. Malnutrition soon set in, and caused for desperate measures. Melody soon learned the art of stealing and stealth. Grocery ?shopping? only came once a month to the docks, and every visit, dozens of people would be caught and sentenced by the Guild. Miraculously, Melody perfected thievery very fast. But one winter?s night would cost her her ?freedom?. An undercover henchman for the Guild posed as a thief and followed along with Melody. Instead of being angry with her illegal acts, the henchman was impressed by her cunning and tactics. He reported her to the Guild as a possible valuable asset. Melody was brought in to Headquarters and questioned about a job as a Scavenger for the Darkfire Army. Without anything to lose, she quickly agreed and was sent off for training in the Research Base Ruins. For two years to come, Melody endured strenuous exercises on both the body and mind. However, the exercises on the mind were far more brutal than the body. The Ruins were rumored to have ?second-hand?effects on the human body from all the years of chemical neglect and the sorts. The lengthened exposure to this environment had many long term impacts on those who trained there; especially young Melody, who became known as Mel for her androgynous appearance. It was important for her to keep her gender under a mask; her extremely young age was dangerous enough for her. Most Scavengers are in the age range of 20-35; said age for most experience and maturity. And about 90% of every recorded Scavenger was male; females just didn?t last long amongst their own kind, and against opposing forces. Most females died, or were driven to the point of suicide, due to rape/murder. Few survived, one of which was Mel. Her last night in the Ruins, a fellow male Scavenger-in-training attempted to have his way with her. To his dismay, Mel learned the value of knives and severed the very thing that had made him a man. Despite his pleading for mercy, Mel?s mind snapped and her dagger kept going. Minutes afterward, Mel left the Ruins and traveled back to Cadmus. At the age of 16, Mel made her first, big kill. A chief justice of Nadine?s council, one of the most dangerous assassinations the Guild has assigned. For the next few years to come, Mel made a reputation of being one of the most sought out thieves/assassins; for both execution and ?to get the job done, and done fast?. She takes missions no other Scavenger of any experience will willingly touch, and comes back with her life and whatever it is she was assigned to retrieve. Those who go with her on these missions always come back with their lives; but she won?t be held responsible for missing body parts.
DeathKnight
Name: Nova. Age: "She appears to be in her early twenties but she is known to be much older than that. Youthful appearance is a side affect from unknown period of time spent as a specimen of the research center. Estimated maximum life span ranges from three to four times that of a normal human." - Nadine SDF Intelligence, Nova's File. Gender: Female Altered. City of Residence: Cadmus, Jotun's Pit. Loyalty: The Guild. Job: Leader of the Guild. Abilities: The black mass overtook the room, blocking out the clean, white light that was shining down from the ceiling. "Subject 7, halt your aggressive actions immediately or we will be forced to punish you." The speaker had a horrid feedback that irritated my nerves. The darkness ripped the speaker clear off of the wall and sent it flying through the protective window. The sound of the glass shattering mirrored my own frayed nerves, a parallel that amused me. I walked to the broken window and stared into the observation room. Six armed guards stared back, their assault rifles raised. They had an intense look of courage on their face that brought a grin to my face. "Stand down, Subject 7. We will kill you if you refuse to cease and desist." I snickered at this and pushed my black hair out of my eyes to get a good look at this man. He was handsome, that was for sure. Nice hair, chiseled good looks. Military man, huh? I have no problems with that.. but it's too bad he's threatening to kill me. I took another step forward and his finger pressed harder on the trigger. "Subject 7! This is your last warning. We will be forced to open fire if you continue to do this!" I took another step forward. "Goddamn it, why don't you listen to me?" He shook his head. "Just stand down and we will be lenient! It doesn't have to go on like this." "I have no intention of stopping or ceasing or desisting or whatever other terms you wish to use. What I intend to do is kill as many of the people who have me imprisoned here as possible, as brutally as possible. That, unfortunately, includes you fine gentlemen." The handsome squad leader nodded to his subordinates. "Oh, my-my. Have you decided you are actually going to kill me? Tsk." Each of them took aim and pulled the trigger. The sound of gunfire shattered the subtle serenity the white room had just prior. The bullets had no effect, however. I looked at each of the soldiers through the darkness that had risen in my defense, all the bullets ricocheting off of it. They ceased firing and stared in shock at me. I smiled and shook my head. "We've arrived at an unfortunate place in time, gentlemen- this is going to be where you die. Not too glorious, is it?" The darkness seeped into the observation room, overtaking the six armed men. It consumed them, eating them alive. "What.. what the **** is this?" The squad leader struggled to say, his voice racked with pain. Blood poured out of his mouth and I looked at him in pity. "It's like.. a goddamn fire.. a goddamn fire of darkness.. why did I have to-" His voice ceased as the blackness overtook his head, muffling his cries of pain as it killed him. The darkness receded and swirled around me, passively waiting. The only remnants of the guards was the blood that was splattered across the room- it was slowly sliding down the walls, dripping down the ceiling and pooling on the floor. I gingerly leapt into the observation room and to the door. The blood stained my all-white specimen's outfit and I paused for a moment, looking at it. It looked better with the blood on it. I smiled and stepped out of the room into the hallway. Alarms roared to life and a voice came on over the loudspeaker- "Subject 7 has escaped from Observation Cell 66, 2nd Sector, Sub-level 4! All available guards are ordered to this area and are hereby given permission to terminate Subject 7 with extreme prejudice. I repeat.." The darkness spread down the hallway like a demonic fire.. - Nova's escape from the 'Meteorological and Oceanographic Institute of Asgard', thirty and a half years ago. 79 killed. 121 wounded. Extensive damage to the facility itself. It is the incident that lead to the closure of the entire research facility. Weapon of Choice: Herself. Appearance: Is as attached. She is 5'6" and is somewhat petite. She usually wears her formal outfit as leader of the Guild that is as pictured. She enjoys feminine clothing and would appear out of place in Cadmus if not for the fact she never goes out in the daytime. Personality: She is playful and yet maintains a negative, melancholy atmosphere around her. She is intelligent and a very capable leader. With this though is a lingering part of her who handles bloodshed almost a little too well- finding it to be amusing, even. She has no qualms with killing and often toys with those she is about to kill. She is fond of the ocean, as the majority of altered seem to be, and spend most of her relaxation time near it. Her opinion of Nadine is unknown, though it's implied she disapproves of their actions. Enigmatic and mysterious, she is relatively unknown to the general population of Cadmus.. but that is bound to change. Biography: I walked amongst the prisoners and saw a young boy sitting with a younger girl. They must have been in their mid teens. I approached them and leaned down, looking at them with sympathy. "What are you two doing here?" "Whole ******* family was sent here. Political dissidents or some such ****.. my parents are dead. Same wit' her." The boy said wearily. "Got nothin' left but each other.." "What are your names?" I sat down next to them. "Name's Zack. Zack Sivart. This 'ere is Jennifer. Jennifer Hanna." He said and gestured to his girlfriend. The young girl smiled shyly and me, giving a slight wave. "Ah, it's a pleasure to meet you." I nodded to them. "Perhaps we can be friends." "How about you, chicka? What's your name?" Zack said, glancing to me. "Hm?" I blinked. No one had asked for my name in awhile. "Oh, people call me Nova." "Nova?" He arched an eyebrow. "What kind of ******* name is Nova?" Jennifer elbowed him. "Zack, watch it." She leaned forward and smiled at me. "I think Nova is a nice name." "It's more of a nickname." I smiled back at her. "Oh, ****. Sorry. I'm jus kinda out of it right now.. not really my usual charismatic self, ya know?" He said and smiled. "Charismatic my ***." Jennifer commented. "Hey, hey. Com'on, I have my moments." He eyed her with amusement. There was a fervor amongst the other prisoners. My interest piqued, I rose and tapped one on the shoulder. "Something going on?" "You didn' hear? Our home country ******* fell apart. Goddamn civil war, we have no ******* masters anymore." He replied. "You know what this means, don't you?" I tilted my head. "******* revolution. We can take this island for sure now." He nodded and smiled. "This will be our island soon. You can take my ******* word for it." "Oh. Thank you for the information." I smiled sweetly and sat back down next to Zack. "What's goin on?" He asked me. I turned to him and shrugged. "Chaos is brewing." ---- The sound of gunfire ripped across the background, breaking me out of my trance. I sat on the shores of the ocean, the ruins of the Administrative City behind me. Smoke pillared up into the sky, blanketing out the sun and casting a gloomy appearance over it all. "I'll be going now, Hannah." I waved to my friend. "Thanks for your company. It's always nice to have someone with me as I relax on the beach." She nodded and waved back. I turned and walked up into the city towards my hovel of a home. A man stopped me, rifle aimed at my head. "What faction do you belong to? I ain't never seen you around before." "I belong to none." I looked at him with disinterest. "What the **** does that mean? Everyone belongs to a faction. Don't **** with me. What faction do you belong to?" I sighed a bit and gestured as I spoke. "I would appreciate it if you moved. You're in my way." "What..? Fool, didn't you hear what I jus asked you?" I nodded. "Yes. However, I promptly ignored it. Get out of my way." His face flushed with rage. "*****, you just struck out." He pushed the gun to my forehead. "Enjoy hell." "Hold up, Coug'!" The man halted. Zack ran up, gasping for breath. "She's cool, man. She's a good friend of me and Jen." "This weirdo is your ******* friend? You keep strange company, Zack." He looked at me. "You just lucked out. I was about to blow your brains out." He started to walk off. "Have a nice day." I said as he walked way. He turned and gave me a dirty look before continuing on. "Man, Nova. Don't **** around so much, you're bound to get killed messing with all these ******** like that." Zack said and shook his head. "Pardon my lack of interest in all this factional violence." I approached him. "How are things?" "Pretty ******, pretty ******* ******." Zack rested his assault rifle on his shoulder. "Getting reports of some kind of unified force moving into the city. Some kind of innocent-altered alliance. Ain't nobody give a **** though, they think it's all just rumor. I'm not so sure though." "The unified will destroy that which is not unified." I walked into the ruins that served as my home. "I wouldn't be surprised if it does happen." "What would you do, Nova? You stay here or **** around with us some more?" He followed me into the house and took a seat on the ground. "What would I do?" I paused and stared out of one of the many holes in the ceiling of my home, up into the sky. "I don't really know." --- "I will cover your escape." I looked to Zack and Jennifer. The sky was alight with tracer fire as the factions were being slowly pushed out of the city. "Get moving." "Uh, Nova. How the **** will you do that? You ain't a marksmen, you ain't a melee fighter." Zack looked at me an arched eyebrow. I smiled at his ignorance. "I do not require either of those skills to be able to kill. Please, trust me." He gave a slight nod, still questioning my abilities with the look on his face. "Nova.. be careful, kay?" Jennifer looked at me with worry. "Don't worry. Just escape into the wilderness. I will hold off any attacks until you are away." Both of them nodded and ran off into the night, disappearing into the shadows. I turned and eyed the oncoming force. Within the night, my own shadows began to cover the terrain around me. "I loathe myself when I am philanthropic." I said with a sigh. "Oh well.. too late for that." I crouched down as the soldiers came within twenty feet of me. "Hello, mine enemies." I whispered to myself. "Welcome to hell." The shadows seized them and consumed them, their screams breaking the tranquility of the evening. Their cries lessened and their blood splattered on myr face. I sighed and wiped off my face with the tatters I called a shirt. "How many more will come this way, I wonder." I rubbed my chin a bit. "Dozens. Maybe hundreds?" I sighed. "Freeze, Nova." A familiar voice said. "Sean?" I asked, peering through the darkness. "Sean Star-Wind?" "Hello, Nova." He said calmly. "I suggest you stop your slaughter or else I will be forced to try to kill you." He shook his head. "I don't want to have to do that." The clan was with him, I knew most of them very well. They were good friends, all of them and yet I had just.. I smiled grimly. "Ahh, my-my. All of us on Asgard are fallen angels, aren't we? Now that I have killed members of your unified faction, I cannot return to this town." I shook my head negatively. "I have a request. If you don't attack me or my two friends, we will withdraw from here without shedding more blood. Is this offer adequate?" He considered it and finally turned to his clan-mates. "Let's go." I smiled. "Thank you, Sean. I apologize for this." I looked at Hannah. "Thank you, friend. I won't forget you.. stay strong. And stay alive- both of you." She nodded to me before disappearing into the evening with Sean. I stood alone in the darkness and looked up into the starry sky, losing myself in eternity. ---- "Nova, did you hear? They Chief was ******* killed." I looked up to Zack with disbelief. "Yeah, you heard me, man- they got him this mornin'. There's a hole in his head as big as your fist- prolly an anti-tank rifle or somethin'. Whole of the town is ****** over in chaos. Factions 'n ****- we're back to the goddamn way it was just a couple of months ago." He sighed and sat down next to me on the beach, eying the waves. "Damn, I thought the Chief was the one. ******' hero in the war- took out hundreds of those elitist fuckers. Good people skills, good head on him.. damn, man. I jus can't believe he's dead. He was warming up to me too! ****." He spit to his right and rested his head on his knees. "****.." "Blasted mongrels." I said with contempt. "When will this cycle of violence end? How many leaders have we gone through since we lost the war? Twenty-three in five years? Tch', this community is bound to die from all of this asinine faction-based violence. Zack." I stood up and dusted myself off. "I've grown weary of these fools. We are taking action." He stared at me in confusion and I sighed. "Do you or do you not want some semblance of tranquility to return to your life? Some kind of stability? For you, for Jennifer- for your newborn son. For the entire community." "Yeah, I guess so.. Jen is my everything, you know? After we retreated out of Nadine, there was nothing left of my dreams or future.. jus' her." I nodded. "I have a favor to ask. Gather all the Altered you can here." He arched an eyebrow. "For what, Nova? You ain't plannin to.." "Yes. I am. Go." I looked at him seriously. "Now." "Whoa, okay. Jus.. don't get mad or nothin. Your pretty ****** when you're mad. I'll be back." He leapt up and gave a wave as he ran off towards Cadmus. I looked back to the ocean and closed my eyes, fading into the the serenity it held.. --- I walked into city hall. Several heavily armed men approached me and stopped me, serious looks in their eyes. "This is the territory of the Apollo gang. We recently seized control of this city hall and are now the leaders of Cadmus. I'm afraid that, you know, you can't just walk in here.. so I'm going to have to tell you to get the **** out, we clear?" I smiled. "Crystal." He smiled back. His smile turned into shock as the shadows flowed from my feet, swirling around me. "But, I'm afraid that I cannot 'get the **** out'. You see, this is something of a coup de' tat." I gestured broadly. "I'm going to kill everyone in this building. Your boss. His sub-commanders. Their subordinates. Their grunts. Their families. Their children. All of it. We're starting anew, you see?" I pointed to him with a smile. "But you, I like you. If you want to survive, I suggest you leave. Immediately." He nodded slowly and fled the building, leaving his scared comrades behind him. "Well, who does that leave." I looked to the remaining men. Each of them stared at the darkness that continued to creep out from me, spreading towards them. "Ahh, what lucky men you are. This is where your lives come to a close. No regrets?" Stunned silence. "Well, that's good. They always say to live with no regrets. Let's start the show. Don't blink- you might miss something spectacular." Their screams could be heard across the city. --- "Chief, we've cleared the building. You uh.. ****, I mean, there ain't nothing left. Jus.. blood." Zack scratched his chin nervously. "Uh, what do we do now?" "We begin our rule. Contact the members of the Guild and tell them that the coup has succeeded. From there, we implement our plans. We will organize this city into something resembling a functioning town. Something with order, no matter how tainted it is. We will never be as pure, celestial or successful as Nadine, but we will survive through this hell." My eyes locked onto his. "Get moving." "Ma'am." He saluted and walked out of the room. I sat down, rested my elbows on the desk and folded my hands. "Thus begins a new age. I wonder where fate will take us all.." - Series of events ending with the Guild's takeover of Cadmus twenty five years ago.
Cyriel
Name: Yerdana Tamari Age: 27 Gender: Female City of Residence: Nadine, The Dominion ? Southwest District Loyalty: Nadine City Job: Member of the Nadine City Council Abilities: Due to expressed recessive genes passed down from her father, Yerdana is one of ?the Altered? by descent. She is acutely sensitive to temperature, changes in temperature, and the likes, and thus is able to pinpoint human body heat within a certain radius. She can also guess machinery from the amount of heat they give off. What Yerdana can sense is directly proportional to the size of the object, and the distance from the object to Yerdana herself. It is an extremely useful tool not only in combat, but in defensive and precautionary measures as well, since her ability is likeable to a built-in radar system. Also because of her strong sensitivity to temperature, Yerdana can also track heat changes, or heat ?trails,? much as a snake tracks its prey. The odd thing is that her abilities are beginning to mutate as Yerdana progresses in age. Recently she has found that she is somewhat able to control her body heat, as well as alter to a few degrees her core temperature (although not by much due to human delicacy related to temperature). If in direct contact, she is able to channel a certain amount of heat, or draw it away as well. Weapon of Choice: As a member of the City Council, Yerdana does not usually carry around large weaponry of any sort. A ceremonial (but fully functional) dagger is kept at hand, as well as a small, semiautomatic pistol issued by the Imperial Forces. Other various weaponry is carried by bodyguards who are usually assigned to Yerdana. However, despite her not carrying firearms/weapons does not mean she doesn?t know how to use them ? she has been fully trained in all weaponry employed by the Imperial Forces, and some not as well. Appearance: Tall and lithe, Yerdana always has a graceful, stately appearance and carriage. Her skin is a beautiful, dusky brown, and has a glow to it. Although she has slender features, Yerdana is obviously strong in spirit and form, with no outward signs of weakness. Her eyes are clear and full of strength, if not a small solemnity, and are a cobalt blue, with flecks of gold. Dress is usually casual, with muted earth-tones. However, on holidays, festivals, or special occasions, Yerdana will bring out the full regalia of the City Council. Personality: Due to her training, and family relations, Yerdana can meld and adapt easily in almost any situation. She can be stubborn, fierce, mild, gentle, submissive, outspoken, fearless, or strong, all depending on what the situation calls for. Above all things she is a stateswoman, and is able to keep her head in even dire and threatening circumstances. Determined and resolute, Yerdana will pursue whatever is her goal until she achieves it. She can be somewhat of a discomfort to the other council members, as she is unwavering in her devotion to the greater good of Nadine, and will not negotiate or sacrifice her moral code of ethics, even while playing the game of politics. Yerdana absolutely detests foul play, and will hunt down corrupt officials ruthlessly if need be. Overall Yerdana is a strong, driven individual with intelligence and many abilities, who at the moment is somewhat troubled by the Council?s decision to go to war. Biography: The middle of three children, Yerdana was born to Ygal and Michale Tamari. She was the only one of the children to express the altered genes of her father, Ygal. As a survivor of the destruction of the research facility, Ygal and other freed specimens banded together as the factions began to form. Ygal met Yerdana?s mother Michale, an innocent from the Empire of Arcadia, later on when the foundations of Nadine City was just beginning to be built. Their first daughter was born soon after, and was named Yollana, after whom Yerdana came two years after, and then Mussa, the youngest child and only son. Childhood was spent growing as the city grew. Yerdana did not have a close relationship with either of her siblings. Since she was the only one to express her father?s mutation, her brother and sister developed a closer bond with each other instead. Ygal favored Yerdana in attention, as he would always encourage and tutor her in developing and practicing her abilities. Thus, she and her father had a very close bond, while with the other members of the family Yerdana was not so close to. Because she stole so much of their father?s attention, Yollana and Mussa were perhaps a bit jealous, and it was also true that they were never perfectly comfortable around Yerdana, and vice versa. All three children experienced all aspects of society as they grew up. They were born after the very founding of the city of Nadine, and so had humble beginnings. They watched as buildings went up, and a civilization started to grow. They experienced and participated in the very creation of a new society and culture. They were all taught the art of combat, were all familiar with warfare, as there were attacks every then and now. It was not long before the city was flourishing and beautiful, and the Empire of Arcadia entered the picture. Ygal was a Chief Justice on the City Council, and he would often call in Yerdana to sit in on meetings and learn. Yollana too would come at times, but she preferred to be with Mussa in other council meetings. Thus it was that Yerdana grew from meager beginnings, and experienced the explosion of the growth of a thriving and beautiful city. Because she saw Nadine City in all its development, she knows the workings of the city better than she knows any person, and is comfortably familiar with all its politics and issues. While her brother and sister bonded with each other, Yerdana formed an unbreakable bond with Nadine City, sharing not only her father?s abilities, but also his love for this nation in Asgard. To her, Nadine is a living, breathing entity that she shares a blood connection with. Ygal died three years ago under mysterious circumstances, of which Yerdana is sure was a political assassination. However, as there is no proof, she is unable to take action. Yerdana?s mother passed away soon afterward of sickness, following her husband into the afterlife. With connections to the Empire of Arcadia through their mother, both Yollana and Mussa left Asgard and immigrated to Arcadia, both securing positions in the government due to their own finely honed political skills. Yerdana, however, remained on Asgard, and took up a position in the Nadine City Council upon her father?s untimely death. She declined the position of Chief Justice, but is a strong and immutable force on the Council. I hope you don't mind that I tied in my story with Goddess.
Rhym
Man, I love it when a post comes along with an awesome premise and people who are good writers sign up! Name: Anders Svensson Age: 57 Gender: Male - Altered First Generation City of Residence: Nadine - The Dominion Loyalty: Nadine City SDF Job: SDF Special Ops - Sergeant-at-Arms Abilities: Anders' abilities are very minor due to the fact that he was already middle-aged when he was abducted to be experimented on. As it is, he is a low-powered Hydrokinetic. He can make a small amount of moisture condense out of thin air; on more humid days he could perhaps fill a small canteen. This helps on long patrols, when supplies are strictly rationed. He can also control physical phase changes of water to some extent. There is an offensive side to his powers, however. Should he be tracking an enemy, he can slowly leach moisture from them, causing them to eventually collapse of dehydration. Should they choose to hide in a body of water, Anders could drown them easily. He knows how to survive in the wilderness for extended periods of time. He's a damn good shot to boot and knows how to get his squad home in one peice. Weapon of Choice: Anders carries a standard issue Imperial Model XX Semi-Automatic Combat Pistol. However, instead of the combat rifle, he is equipped with a heavy-duty, long-range sniper rifle. He also carries a large machete, more for survival than combat. Appearance: Anders sports a moustache/goatee combo with hair of a longish cut. However, while once jet black in his carefree youth, it now shows signs of graying. Such is life. He has strong, trustworthy features and eyes of an earthy hazel. He is about 6'1" and of a lithe yet strong build. He was lucky enough to be issued some Imperial Model II Body Armor, and he wears it religiously, it having saved his life on many an occasion. Over this, however, he has a flexible hooded cloak painted in a camo pattern. He carries a burlap camo net with him in a rucksack should he need extra cover. Personality: Like most Altereds, Anders bears a deep melancholical sadness. He's not really introverted, more resigned and withdrawn. His squad understand this and try not to bring up sensitive subjects, such as the hideous experiments conducted on him. Despite this, Anders knows how to connect with his troops and there is a deep sense of fellowship running through them all, despite being a mix of Altereds and Innocents. The official name of his squad may be "Her Imperial Majesty's 1st Special Operations Long-Range Survailance and Forward Light Offensive Squad", but the unofficial name is "Anders' Rangers", in honor of his stellar leadership. Biography: Anders comes from a soldier's stock. Back through history, his lineage has always been that of the commoners that fought for the great lords. It's no surprise, then, that Anders was a soldier for "The Homeland" before his abduction. His memory is scant of the horrific experiments conducted upon him in the darkest confines of the Research Base and frankly, he's glad of it. Unfortunately, the mind never truly forgets anything, and his dreams are ravaged by images of scalpels, electrodes, straps, rooms of surgical white, and cruelly impassive faces behind display glass. He's worked his nightmares out to his own benifit, however, as they help him stay awake on long, sleepless patrols. After the construction of Nadine and the alliance with the Empress, Anders joined the SDF, where he was soon promoted to the leader of the fledgling 1st Special Operations Long-Range Survailance and Forward Light Offensive Squad. This squad soon integrated into the platoon of the brilliant and ambitious 1st Lieutenant Zacherai Star-Wind. Despite the Lieutenant's disdain for non-Altereds, those in Anders' Rangers chose to stay loyal to their Sergeant-at-Arms. Besides, what with being in the field so often, they rarely come into contact with the Lieutenant. His family may have been a soldier's line, but that doesn't mean that Anders embraces war. He fought with the Altered/Innocent alliance in the hopes of creating a peaceful haven for him to live out the rest of his days. Sadly, it seems that some dreams are destined to failure. War comes once more to Asgard.
Sakura
OOC: Will finish later. EDIT: Complete! Let me know if anything should be changed. Name: Katchya "Kat" Valentine Age: 24 Gender: Female City of Residence: Cadmus, Jotun's Pit Loyalty: Devoted to the Guild Job: Assassin/Thief/Sometimes spy - She can be hired by anyone that can find her and has enough money to pay her fees. She'll do either one depending on what the person wants her to do. Abilities: Stealthy, agile, swift and has a unique way to move right up to someone silently without them knowing. Kat can see clearly in the dark, and has an excellent sense of hearing, both which are vital for her job. She's flexible and can do a lot of gymnastic moves that help her out in what she does. Kat has to have good aim with what she does and she has a wide range of training in martial arts and weaponry in case she ever needs it. Since she steals and kills, she's best at stealing and killing and moving around silently. Kat also has excellent skills of disguise and acting, since sometimes she goes undercover for people as well. She also has a kind of skill with detecting lies and whether someone's a traitor. She doesn't know how it works, but something in her mind alerts when someone lies or is being a traitor, she can't explain it, she just calls it a sixth sense. Weapon of Choice: Kat carries a number of weapons, all of which are light weight so it doesn't make it heavy for her. She carries a pair of guns like the ones in this picture with a holster on each hip, she carries screw on silencers along with them and plenty of spare ammo. She has a pouch split into two compartments that sits over her right hip, each compartment is filled with a different type of throwing projectile; knife-like things, and shuriken. The last weapons that she carries are a pair of daggers in sheaths next to the guns, on the outside. Appearance: Here, she's a medium height of 5'6" and has a medium build. She wears a long sleeved black top but usually keeps the sleeves rolled up to just above her elbows, and she wears a pair of black leather pants. Her gloves are also made of black leather and reach her wrists. Personality: Kat has a bit of a split personality. She's different from when she works and when she's with friends. All of her friends are mostly part of the Guild, which is how they know each other, but she has a few outer friends as well. Around them she's free and happy, jokes around and practically just has fun. When she's working, she is a cold-hearted and ruthless, because she has to, she kills people for most of her living, the rest done by stealing. Whenever she kills, she feels nothing because she's so used to it after doing it for so many years. She hates failure and will always complete a job, even if she's half dead. Kat considers the Guild as her family, because she never knew her real family. She works alone because assassination and thievery should be a one person thing, and anyone else will just weigh her down. Biography: Katchya grew up, never knowing who her parents were, she was dumped at a young age of around 8, she never knew, nor did she care, why they abandoned her. If they were kind enough to leave a young, helpless child in the streets she didn't need them. As a child, she wandered the streets, she half starved, but she drank what little water she could find in places to keep her going, and some rare people that felt sorry for her gave her whatever food they had. When Kat turned 10, she found her way to the Guild, stumbling upon it. Someone saw the cold glare in her eyes and got the leader to let her join. She was fed slowly until she was healthy and they started to train her. Since she was young, she had a willing mind and picked up things easily. They taught her martial arts, which she took in her stride easily, transgressing very fast. She had three main teachers, they were members of the Guild, each had a different occupation; one was an assassin, one a thief, and one a spy. Each taught her their ways, the thing that stayed the same throughout was the fact that it was crucial that she was silent, swift, agile, and stealthy, because getting caught would mean death. Kat grew up, taking in everything she was taught. Kat was taught by a hunter, how to use guns and other projectile firing weapons. She was taught how to aim accurately so she didn't miss her target. By the time she was 18, she was doing proper jobs, killing big people, stealing large items and getting important pieces of information. She had already formed a strong reputation and had many people coming to look for her. Kat takes her jobs very seriously, she won't take a job from someone unless they first track her down. All the Guild members have been told by her, not to lead anyone to her if they wanted a job. They have to be smart themselves and figure out who and where she was. Then the next step was if they had enough money to pay her fees, and she charged quite high for her services. She considers the Guild as her friends and family, she trusts them and they support her like a family. All Kat knows is it's the only thing even close to a family life that she's ever known. She knows there's been a few traitors that have come and gone, but she has a bit of a sensor that tells whether they are traitors or not. Katchya is well known, even at her age, several people that have come to see her and found her successfully doubted her skills, she cleared that easily by killing them swiftly. There are rumours about her, some which are true, not many people doubt her skills since they've heard of how many people she's killed because they doubted her. She often has several jobs at a time happening which keeps her busy.
Stark
Name: Teryk Lee Collabel Age: 26 Gender: Male City of Residence: Nadine; Aesir's District Loyalty: Nadine's City Council Job: Teacher of English at the High School level Abilities: Teryk is surprisingly talented with his hands in spite of his profession, a testament to the way he lived when he was a youth. He has some skills that are better suited for thieves than school teachers, but he doesn?t flaunt them. Along with the lock picking and palming, he possesses a strange knack for hand to hand combat. Also, his acting skills are quite impressive. Weapon of Choice: He?s a teacher; he doesn?t carry a weapon with him everywhere he goes. But, if there?s a need for him to fight, he prefers to use a pistol he acquired before he entered Nadine, or the set of twin daggers that slide easily into his boots. Appearance: Teryk is a tall, slim man whose looks still betray his youthfulness. At his age, it isn?t de rigueur to look like a 19 year old anymore. He?s pale of complexion, with russet hair that tends to obscure his features unless he ties it into a ponytail. The ponytail fits nicely with the look he tries to cultivate, and the piercing on his left ear does a good job of accenting his style. The clothing he wears is rarely anything flashy, but it seems to blend in with any situation. As such, he doesn?t have a wardrobe that is split between his job and his everyday life. Unfortunately, he has two scores against him in appearance; his baby face, and his incessantly sleepy eyes. Personality: He?s normally an easy going, if somewhat apathetic, guy. Rarely angered, he seems almost unshakably calm and composed. That calmness carries over into his profession, making him be a tough, but kind teacher. But his students tend to take advantage of his appearance in the beginning of the school year, misjudging him to be an inept and half-witted teacher. But it soon becomes clear that he?s a very bright and perceptive individual; his students can?t get away with passing notes around in class, even if they can catch him with the classic ?erasure balanced on top of the door? trick. Biography: Teryk has no family that he knows of?he is an orphan from the streets of Arcadia, one who lived off of the food he stole and managed to survive with his bare hands. Such a life, though it had its merits, was tough, and it didn?t allow Teryk the very thing he craved more than love; an education. As it was, when he made the poor decision of stealing from a church (how was he supposed to know it was a church? He couldn?t even read!) he got more than he bargained for. He was caught in the act, but was offered a bed in the church instead of a cell in the local jail. At first he didn?t know how to react. Most people just shout ?Stop! Theif!?, but the nun smiled, told him not to take all of the money, and offered him dinner. It was unusual, but he accepted the nun?s offer. He stayed with Sister Karin Collabel, and she taught him everything she knew. In exchange, he helped her with her duties, and promised that he would one day be more than just another thief. Then it came. He was offered a spot at a school. Not a huge, prestigious one, but a school no less. He took it, and became a teacher with his knowledge. When he heard of the need for teachers in Nadine, he eagerly accepted. It was a chance to make good on his promise to Sister Karin, and he couldn?t refuse. As it is, he may be just a teacher, but he remembers his experiences. He likes to think that maybe his thieving skills can be used for the good of Nadine, especially with all of the rumors he?s been hearing lately. Guest Arisaco
Sorry for the late post. Name: Ari "Frozen Fire" Dargod Age: 21 Gender: Male City of Residence: Cadmus, Dragon Heights Loyalty: The Guild Job: Jack-of-all-trades, but specializes in thievery Abilities: While not the best thief in the city, Ari is by no means a "lightweight" in the underworld. His quick mind, deft fingers, and ability to patiently wait out a target's home has quickly given him a prestige at The Guild few have to enjoy. His fighting abilities are, undoubtably, some of the finest in The Guild, using mainly hand-to-hand techniques and few weapons to get the job done. Weapon of Choice: Ari's main weapon is one not many would find useful. A long dark staff, capped with metal and stands taller than him, is slung over his back. His boots contain small daggers for secondary protection, and a Saturn 49 sits comfortably at his belt. Appearance: Ari's appearance is very unreamarkable, save for a few features. His 6-foot frame is topped off by his long, white hair, which is always in a ponytail. However, his eyes are his strangest feature. While they are the normal blue-green on the edge of his eyes, the center of them is bright orage, which make them look like fire frozen in ice, hence his nickname. Personality: Given his quick wit, Ari's personality is one that many find annoying. He can be brooding over a problem one moment, then be caught laughing at a rude joke made to his serving wench . This can be a problem, for his assginments mostly require subtly and in that, Ari is completely lacking. Many say that if He isn't killed by a mission, his sharp tougue with be his doom. Biography: Ari's childhood is not a happy one, as with all children in Cadmus. His parents, Renac and Faust Dargod, were both part of The Guild, his mother a serving wench, his father a small-time thief. When not beating his wife or son, his father liked to plot, in his druken stupor, about how he was going to rule The Guild someday. After a few years of this, The Guild decided to make an example of him and, a few weeks later, forcably took Faust and had him drawn and quatered by four Hellspawn motorcycles. His mother, visibly shaken, left Ari to fend for himself. Ari, who was too young to remember his mother very much, filled his life with hatred toward the four men who had killed his father. It was not love for his father that drove him to vengence, but hatred that he could not have killed his father before them. He realized that to kill the four men, he would need money and reputation. He attained both by thievery and taking jobs that others at The Guild did not want. By the age of 13, Ari had the names of all those who had killed his father. All their deaths were ruled as murders committed by agents of Nadine. Ari continued to take jobs and soon rised in the ranks. On one of his missions with The Guild, he came across a cargo ship which carried a supply of wood that was his target. Ari decided to skim a little off the top of the supply and carried off a good piece of timber. He took it to an ironworker who darkened the wood and capped it by metal. After a few years with The Guild, however, Ari began to see that tensions were rising between Cadmus and Nadine. He became determined to stay out of it as long as possible. Gavin
A fascinating RPG Ken, it reminds me very much of the movie No Escape. --------------- Name: Birth name withheld, assigned codename Loki. Age: Exact age unknown, appearance indicates early fifties. Gender: Male. City of Residence: Cadmus, Jotun's Pit. Loyalty: The people of Nadine, in Loki's mind governments rise and fall but the people are always there and thus his loyalty should be to them. Job: SDF Operative. Loki's assignment is the infiltration of The Guild to relay valuable information back to SDF High Command and later orchestrate the destruction of The Guild itself from within. His cover for the last decade is that he is a highly talented mercenary and assassin for hire to the highest bidder, which is in reality not too far from the truth, given his past. Abilities: Before arriving on Asgard, Loki was a intellectually gifted and very promising recruit in the Argosian Army?s Black Ops division. He was trained to be silent, remorseless, intuitive and above all, lethal to an extreme degree, he was conditioned to be near impervious to mental and physical methods of information extraction and increased resistance to physical pain and injury. His combat abilities were increased ten-fold, excelling in areas such as close quarters and unarmed combat, marksmanship with a variety of light, medium and heavy weapons, strategic insertion and extraction. After his exile to Asgard Loki was one of those who was to undergo genetic experimentation, due a leak or possibly even a deliberate betrayal, the files on Loki?s previous occupation came to light and the brass in charge of the Asgard facility saw an opportunity to try and create the next generation of special operatives. He was to undergo as much genetic alterations as were possible, as his free will was to erased in the process, he would become a weapon with no control, a mindless expert killing machine. His physical enhancements came first, his strength, agility and endurance were increased many fold, though amplification to superhuman levels was not a option due to the mental ramifications. His intelligence, hand-to-eye coordination, recollective abilities and perception were all augmented, though much of his conditioning to physical and mental torture could not be increased upon. The cost of these enhancement would mean than any further attempts to augment the subject would result in full neural collapse, his levels of Extra Sensory Perception, telepathy and other psychic abilities dropped to a point where they are negligible at best. Attempts to irradiate the subject?s free-will failed completely, due probably to the escalation of his intelligence, and would seem to have increased Loki?s emotional quotient instead, reducing his capabilities as an effective operative in their opinions. Finally and most distressingly for the researchers, Loki seems to have displayed resentment towards the enhancements given to him, explaining that he had little interest in continuing his previous line of work under them. Loki stated with absolute clarity that he would never again be a murderer for anyone, and thus his effectiveness as a successful operative dropped to below 2.374%. Weapon of Choice: Loki has no particular penchant to any one weapon, as is equally comfortable using any weapon that comes to hand, however smaller arms, particularly suppressed semi-automatic pistols have become his most commonly used form of arms. Appearance: Most recent photograph of operative. Loki stands just over 1.8 metres at full height and weighs somewhere in the region of seventy five to eighty kilos, his body is athletically tone with well-developed muscles spread throughout. His shoulders are broad, giving him a distinguished and someone intimidating physical presence, augmented by his engineered strength. His eyes are a piercing dark blue, making hold eye contact with him someone unnerving for those unused to such things, though they take on a softer appearance when Loki laughs or is otherwise content. His method of dress is not limited to any one particular style, though between assignments his attire is usually dark and somewhat formal as to indicate his professionalism. He is most commonly seen in long black fabric coats, sunglasses, dark trousers and highly polished black shoes. Personality: As a man who has been an operative most of his life, Loki has learned the value of silence the easy way. He customarily does not speak unless addressed and will then reply in as few words as possible without sacrificing clarity, he will not break eye contact with the person speaking to him and his demeanour is usually a faux-pleasant to mask his true emotions or intentions. He is entirely emotionless usually, his "pleasantries" merely a distraction to allow him to actively assess those he engages conversation with while drawing conversation either to either topics he seeks information on, or away from topics he does not wish to discuss. His true intentions are rarely revealed until he himself chooses to reveal them, and those who should discover those intentions without his permission will see the icy lethality of Loki firsthand. He is calculating and entirely ruthless in pursing his objectives, showing no signs of viciousness, anger or other dark emotions during his work, such things he believes leaves one vulnerable as they interfere with logic and commons sense. Biography: Loki was born over five decades ago in the Republic of Argos, one of the major opponent powers to Arcadia. There is little information about his parents that is of consequence, they were normal civilians with normal civilians jobs who fell in love, got married and began a family. Loki was their first child and only son, whom his parents dotted on because they were his parents and it was something parents do, Loki doesn?t particularly care whether or not his parents dotted upon him so long as they ensured his health and welfare. Upon entering primary education, Loki was observed to have above average problem solving skills and intelligence, he was fast-tracked as to increase the effectiveness of his education and moved into honours classes with other gifted children. His educators commented on how he was a quiet child who preferred to work by himself and spend his recreational time alone away from other children. His parents concerned about Loki?s mentality sent him to different specialists in the hope that it was something that could be cured with a dose of medicine every day but were disappointed when it was revealed it was just his nature. With the birth of their second child, a daughter just after Loki?s fourth birthday, it would seem they gave up on him and began to focus their attention of a child that would actually respond in kind, if asked about this, Loki would respond that he doesn?t care whether or not his parents wished to lavish all their attention on his sister. Over the next fourteen years, Loki continued his education at the same rate, or perhaps and even higher rate than he had as a boy, after his successes on several government and military monitored examinations Loki was approached by several army officers with the proposal that he join the Argosian armed forces. Loki retorted that he had little interest in seeing frontline combat against the like of the Arcadians, but he was rebuffed when they revealed that he would be no mere grunt but a highly trained Imperial operative working directly under the highest echelons of the military. Intrigued by the offer, as well as bored with job offers he?d received from civilian corporations Loki accepted and his training began in earnest. Twenty-four months later Loki was one of the most dangerous weapons in the Argosian military and dispatched to eliminate threats against Argosian national security. However on one of his most difficult assignments he was captured in enemy territory and interrogated for over six months without any success, the Argosian government as they had warned him would happen should he be caught, denied all knowledge of his existence and terminated any links they had with him, links than included his family. Unable to extract any information from him, Loki was transferred to Asgard for further analysis, genetic augmentation and if possible reprogramming for government use against Argos should the need arise. Primarily Loki was to be the template for an entire legion of operatives, mindless, remorseless killers designed to attain information and eliminate threads to the government. Due to some fortune of his part, Loki entered at the tail end of research facilities life, only days after finishing his genetic augmentation it?s existence was uncovered to the public, and the Asgardian governments attempts to use him as a template were terminated. Loki?s stay on Asgard was extended indefinitely when the facility was transformed into a prison, though it meant that for a change he?d actually be the master of his own destiny again. Loki made acquaintances of a number of prisoners during his time in the Asgardian prison, probing the remaining guards to find weaknesses that might be exploited at a later stage. When the uprising against the severely reduced guards occurred, Loki knew that ?later stage? he?d been planning for had arrived and willingly took part in the insurrection. During the ?civil war? among the different factions on Asgard, Loki decided it was best to stay low and out of sight, only removing targets that threatened his own personal safety. As he had though, after several months of slaughter one faction emerged victorious and Loki swore allegiance, in a way, to that side ensuring his own survival. Over the next two decades with the aid of the ?benevolent? Arcadians, he watched as the city of Nadine grew and thrived while Loki himself opened a small but respectable clothiers simply named ?Threads?. However Loki could no escape what he was forever, as much as he might prefer to, and when the SDF uncovered the details of his experimentation they politely but firmly insisted that he work for them as an operative on the condition that after several years work he would be released from his military obligations and compensated with a handsome monetary reward. He was given the codename Loki, and his past in Nadine was erased. Loki has since then spend the last decade on Cadmus, watching it grow from a cesspit of degenerate criminals into a haven for the black market and other illicit activities. His reputation as an assassin and mercenary has grown to the level that he regularly accepts contracts from many of Cadmus? most influential people and at times he even receives work offers from The Guild itself, though he has yet to work his way into the organisation. Over the last ten years he has successfully averted the assassination of several high profile Nadine targets without arousing suspicion, usually by eliminating the assassin themselves before they can reach the target. However until he has actually been able to provide the SDF with information capable of crippling The Guild itself, his stay in Cadmus appears indefinite.
