Goodbye, Face
My problems have ceased, if anything, it's going faster than it was before. I guess this means that the new server got its shiny metal *** in gear?
Petie
Yeah, speeds are a lot better for me as well (at both theO and OB). It still takes a rather long time for my myO backroom to load, but maybe that's just me. :animeswea ~Dagger~
I've always had a bit of delay with myO and theO, though nothing ever serious. It usually just takes a few seconds more than usual (which seems like a lot on broadband, when the rest of the pages are loading almost instantly). I think it probably has something to do with the length of time it takes the server to get the information it needs from the database. It's not too bad though and all three sites are now working at normal speed so I guess that new server is in now. Now that I'm looking at it though, it still takes a little extra time to submit a post here every once in a while.
FlamesFirebrand
sq33k l337! my otaku is faster than ever o.o! Even more is that it showed up at school. Know what that means ^^" My speed > School speed. Hurrah! I can update at last!
Baron Samedi
I didn't get any lag, but I'm not sure what the real panic was either. When Last.fm added their new server, something like twenty million song submissions were backed up, lol. But it is quite amazing that the network now requires four servers to control it all. Thats wild. Good work fellas.
Dagger
Over the past few days, pretty much every part of the network (especially the main page) has really slowed down for me, to the point of being almost as bad as it was when this thread was created. Am I the only one experiencing this? ~Dagger~
Brasil
Same here, Dagger. Sometimes times out, other times very, very slow.
Retribution
I thought it was because I deleted my Cache a few days ago, but alas, I am not the only one encountering problems.
Aaryanna
This is the first time I've even been able to see this page today. Other than to log on I haven't been able to view any thread or myOtaku page, every single one refuses to load. I couldn't even sign out. I've been trying off and on all day. It was working yesterday, even though it was a little slow and today now that I finally made it here, it's still very, very, slow. I thought it was my computer, but all the other websites I visit work just fine. I even checked for virsus and spyware just to be sure, but myOtaku still won't load for me, I can't even visit my own page, only the backroom. SunfallE
I'm having the same problem. In fact every time I tried to access either myOtaku, theOtaku or OtakuBoards today I got the error message saying server cannot be found or page cannot be displayed. This is the first time I've even seen one of the pages all day long. And now that I can finally log on it's extremely slow and myOtaku pages don't load. They start to and other than to load the background picture the rest of the page doesn't load. None of them load not even my own page. I too checked my computer for problems and didn't find anything wrong and I'm not having any issues with other sites, only the sites here. :animesigh I hope whatever is causing the problem is fixed soon. It's kind of frustrating as I can see in my backroom that people have updated and I can't visit to see what's up.
Horendithas
Interesting, I too have been troubled by pages refusing to finish loading and with getting errors along the line of page cannot be displayed or server not found. I can now at least log on though the pages are horriably slow in loading and pages in myOtaku still don't load at all. I can visit my backroom but when I try to go to my home page or anyone else's they simply do not finish loading. All I get is the background. In fact the only site where the pages finish loading is here at OtakuBoards.
Baron Samedi
No worries on my end of things, heh. Although I did have one incredibly slow connection to mO this morning, everything else has been pretty good.
dposse
I also am having a huge slow down on Myotaku.com. It is insanely slow. It takes forever to load pages, and im on a dsl connection. I PMed Adam about it.
Goodbye, Face
Every so often when I click a link, it says "otakuboards.com does not exist." Then I click reload and it works fine. No slowdown or anything, just a few annoying messages sometimes.
Aaryanna
I?m still having trouble with sites. The pages do load, but they take forever. I timed it and one myOtaku page took 10 minutes to load! I even downloaded and installed firefox to see if it would work any better and it didn?t. It?s just Otaku sites as even the download of firefox, which was about 5 megabytes, took less than a minute to download and install on my computer. I?m also getting this error message when I try to access wallpapers and comment boxes. A database error has occured. An e-mail has already been dispatched to us regarding the error and will be fixed promptly. The error returned: Error while attempting to establish a connection with the server Anyway, it?s unrelated but I thought you might want to know that occurred is spelled wrong, it?s suppose to have two r?s. ^_~ ~*Aaryanna*~
Cat
I have alos been having problems at both MyOtaku and OtakuBoards. They both seen to be slower no matter what time I get on. Plus, some times with MyOtaku I keep getting erro pages or all I see is my Background. I some times can't even get back to the Backroom. Also, a few times it took me 10 to 15 mins just to get to another MyOtaku site. Another problem that I have had that might not relate but I keep getting these hyper links in my texts. I talked to Petie about it and he said to check for Spy-wear and Viruses. I have scaned my computer for Viruses and Spy-wear and got rid of all them. I have been having problems with my computer for a while too. So, the problem might be my computer but I do not know.
DeadSeraphim
Justin is trying to set up the multi-server setup now. Velegant Media bought a new server for SQL, and it's not completely in operation yet, so they're still setting it up. You'll be able to tell when it's all working well.
