sakurasuka
Alright, I've had a pretty non-inspirational month. I've produced pretty much crap. A bunch of my family's been visiting, and that's pretty stressful, and I've had some issiues with my biological father. Meh. I've decided it's time to get out of my rut and try something new. I've done some sprites and pixel-art that I don't really like, but here's my spin on it. Have fun and enjoy. How I did it, step by step- Step 1- Get a scan or crappy pic (prefferably black and white). Step 2- Trace it on a new layer, delete lower layer, fix edges, decrease pallete depth to 2 colors. Step 3- Perfect edges and flood fill basic blocks of color. Step 4- Basic shadows and low-lights. Step 5- Shine in glasses, soften out edges of shadows to make them blend. Now here's how I used my newly-done pic (All brushes done by yours truly)- What do you think? Good? Bad? Ugly? SaiyanPrincessX
I like it up untill the fifth. I think you used the blur tool to blend, which doesn't work with pixel art. It is men't to have a crisp look. So one through three art great(discluding the original image and the blurred one). ^_^
