Nomura
Hello, in this thread I will allow you to vote on either this band or another band. It doesn't have to be bands either. It can be any kind of music. I'll even let you guys suggest bands( or other musicians), too. I hope you guys have a good time, let's begin. I'll let you guys start us off. Choose accurate bands that people will definitely know.
Manic Webb
I'm afraid I don't quite understand what you're saying. Could you please explain exactly what you want to do? Because if you just want people to list their favorite bands, I'll have to close this thread.
Nomura
No of course not that. It's like a battle of the bands sorta, only with more musicians and more accurate pop culture. And, I'm letting the people participate. I asked permission so, don't worry. And, I just got a PM from Ilium, suggesting that I put up the two old classic rock bands... The Police VS. Queen Not so new, but very accurate as people still listen to their music. I love both bands, but I'll have to go with Queen. In my opinion, Queen has those songs you'll just never forget, and can always sing along to. The Police is pretty good, yet I havn't heard them as much as I've heard Queen. So, yes I'm still going with Queen.
Lafleur
Queen are without a doubt good. Great, even. Their mix of metal and majesty set the tone for an entire generation of musicians. Freddie Mercury ranks amongst the greatest singers of all time. My favourite song of there's is the one they did with David Bowie, Under Pressure, but practically every song is enjoyable too me. Bohemian Raphsody is a classic that will live out the ages. That, and when you play parts of 'Another One Bites the Dust' backwards, it says 'It's fun to smoke marijuana, marrijuaaana marijuaaaana, it's fun too smoke marijuana' in a really creepy voice. The Police are another band I find amazing. They were an old-school punk sound with a tuch of reggea influence, and they truely produced classics. From Roxxane too Every Breath you Take, they were consistently amazing. But I, also, havn't heard as much from them as I have from Queen. So my verdict, as well, goes to Queen
densuke
I can't see the point in pitting these bands against each other. Queen started out in the heyday of British glitter rock; comparable bands from that time include Slade, "Ziggy"-era Bowie and T. Rex. And I'll take T. Rex over Queen as far as that goes... Queen was already a superstar group by the time the Police came out and tastes had changed quite a bit via punk rock. That's why the sound and scale are so different. The Police can be roughly lumped with, say, XTC and the Members. You could also maybe throw in U2.
