Alright. I just got an idea, and I'd like to hear what you guys think.

Members from the boards can volunteer for spots on a sort of "New Member Adoption Agency" type thing. When a new member signs up, they have the option of getting a counselor or buddy type person, to show them the ropes and remind them of the rules. Also, it gives the new member a friend right from the get go.

I guess it sounds kind of childish, but I think it would be a good idea.

Eh... that sort of wouldn't work, I'm guessing. Primarily because that would mean that you'd have to trust that these New Members would listen to these conselors. And what makes you think that the New Member who signs up at this Adoption place would need a mentor? It'd be the people who didn't sign up for this who would need it most.

Not an original idea, sorry, lol. I think we've had a suggestion along these lines before. But how much help could a 'counsellor' be? I mean, if you read the Rules, then that's all you need. It isn't all that daunting.

But if you see a newbie who seems to be floundering, by all means, send them a PM. I just think it's probably unnecessary to implement an official system kind of thing.

Along with all that, new members shouldn't feel at all afraid to PM a Moderator if they have any questions regarding the rules and regulations of the forums.

We're not just around to say "Hey, you're doing this, this and this wrong. *CLOSE*" We're always more than willing to help any member if they feel they need it.
