This thread is about those shows that have been on tv way past there expiration date. The shows we used to like, but now they should just stop. What are some of your?

Game Shows
The Price is Right: Bob Barker its time for you to stop you're to old to be on television anymore

Family Feud: There's a reason why you can't keep a host and its because you suck.

Any gameshow that comes on PAX: I'm probably the only person who knows about these stupid shows. No one watches them so let them go.

Cartoons
Pokemon: Yes its time for Pikachu to evolve off the air

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: They should have never brought you back

Power Rangers: You should have stopped after Mighty Morphin

Simpsons: Yes its time. You've already proven that you're the best now let Family Guy take over.

I have more but I that last one got to me :animecry: .

What are yours?

GAME SHOWS:

Wheel of Fortune- Honestly this show is just boring, especially after about 15 or 20 years. Watching a spinning wheel and some sort of scrabble and hangman variation is NOT FUN.

PAX shows- Yeah you are right, my dad leaves these on sometimes and they are just reeking of sponsorship due to the fact that they have that stupid shooping show where they constantly say every ad slogan in existence.

I agree with you Hell Fire, those shows just need to end and also Digimon add to the list, the first and second season were sort of good but people will not get the point that they are boring. Also to add to the list put "The Batman" how many times are we suppossed to be reminded that he lives in Gotham and fights the Penguin and the Joker?

Yes, a lot of shows are good the first season... but then the creators just come back and find a way to just cheese it up and make it worse. My best examples: Pokemon and Digimon. I loved Digimon the first season or two, but after that it just got ridiculus. What can those crazy digital monsters not do now-a-days?

And I'd have to agree with Corpse Torcher... The Real World... argh... the worst and most over used (besides Survivor) reality show around. Look, I know a lot of people are obsessed with the show, but honestly... what reality show is actually real anymore? I think they should all be eliminated. >>

OH! Another show: All That from Nickelodeon. I hate that show! Grr. Lol. They needed to stop after the first episode. Just... no...

That's all I have for now. Yeah...

A show that must die:

Family Guy. Ya, it's been 4 seasons and they already suck balls. The Simpsons have proven they can be consitently funny for a decade and a half, and Family Guy has already ruined what legacy it had. Early episodes were funny... but now it should die before it becomes even worse.

Ophera. I don't even care how you spell it. So your 10,000 pounds, no ones cares! So your poor, join the god-damn club! It's the same 'pity me' story over-and-over and no one cares. Dr.Phil can go with her.

Reality TV. Just kill it. KILL IT ALL. Survivor, the Idols, SHOWS I DON'T EVEN CARE TOO NAME, DIE ALL OF YOU! DIE!

*Gasp* Family Guy won't die anytime soon. I love the newer eppisodes. Guess you need to have the right type of humour for that, but I thought of another show that needs to die!.

Fear Factor - Just god that show gets lamer and lamer all the time. You see a person eat an elephent testicle once you've seen it 1000 times give em something different for once geeze!

oh yea and Jerry Springer and Maury - Those redneck shows should've died out in the early 90's but somehow I still manage to see em on TV mid-day.

FG is like Greenday. It used to be pretty good but now its absolute crap. It should die before what little legacy it has is gone.

Yuck, some of my least favourite TV shows that I think should be off-air (perhaps forever)? Spongebob Squarepants, Home & Away, Neighbours, It's Academic, According to Jim (basically all soaps), The Mole, and pretty much anything like Australian Idol, X-Factor, Big Brother, etc.. so over-rated.

 I wish they would get rid of all the reality shows. I don't enjoy seeing people get their feelings hurt on national TV. Also Spongebob was funny at first-but now it is just for kiddies. Lame! Sorry, my opinion. I also agree with gothfarmer. When I was in high school- MTV was music videos and shows about music. Now all they seem to play is reality shows. If I remember correctly-MTV stands for music television, not crap television!

The Simpsons. It's been sliding into mediocrity for years now, and at the current rate doesn't look like it'll get any better. The Golden Age of The Simpsons are gone, just let the damn show die. Then again, it's such a fan favourite people will watch it even if it's utter trash, so I guess Fox won't lose that cash cow any time soon.

Yes! I feel almost sorry for it, because it's almost embarassing to watch now.

I think Oprah needs to come off. I mean it's a good talk show, but it's just so dry now! They need to have me as a guest, or have those Harry Potter come back on. They just need to do something to make it exciting again!

Reboot needs to die too! I used to love it, but now it's like a neverending nightmare! It keeps on repeating itself, again and again and again!

Canadian idol, why can't you die?! It's so cheap, and I don't even think anyone is watching it and American I idol should come off too. As long as it keeps running, I think Canadian Idol will keep coming on..

Hmm.. I think if they took Reboot off the air that would be ok. But young kids still watch it as if it's brand new to them so that's why they leave it on.

But Family Guy? Come on.. We're not here to get rid of shows we dislike, just ones that are getting old.

Survivor? I love that show but I have only been watching it since Season 9. I'll admit it's getting a bit old and I would totally understand if it was taken off the air.

Simpsons I would have to agree with that it should be taken off. The new comedy shows out now make you laugh almost two times as much as Simpsons does now. Simpsons only has funny points every so often (unlike other shows like Stella that make you laugh constantly).

One that I think should be removed permanently is.. Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. I liked it at first. You know, it was a nice show but now.. now it's just gotten old. I'm getting sick of it.

Another one that I never really watched is Star Trek. Can you believe they still make episodes for this? This show is so annoying. I think it'd be alright to leave the new ones running but they really need to stop running those outdated old re-runs.

Stupid oops-I-fell-down humour is dead. Toilet humour is dead. The deepest joke in FG was the one where Brian chases the miniature horse-buggy-caravan thing, and nobody got that one. Seth McFarlen is at his limits and his show is already old.

Comon dude. The old Star Trek are just so cheap they're hilarious. Have you ever watched an episode? It's a laugh riot!

Interesting, most interesting.

First and foremost I think that the British version of Big Brother needs to go, I haven't a clue what series it was this year, but they just seem to be dredging the most pathetic individuals off the streets and calling them "the housemates". God knows we'd actually get a couple of intellectuals who are willing to talk about something remotely interesting. I mean the show is only ever remotely entertaining when people are ready to go nuts at one another, I say but drugs to increase their aggressiveness into the food (or perhaps alcohol) and just sit back and watch the consequences, though as I recall the actual idea on which Big Brother was based was something similar to the above.

The Simpsons, alright Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, you've had eighteen seasons and done just about everything with the characters you can do, including turning Lisa Buddhist, having Bart and Homer become Roman Catholics and having aunt Patty/Selma come out as being gay. Enough is enough, the show isn't funny any more aside from perhaps moments from the side cast of misfits that inhabit the city of Springfield. As per the timeline, you can't have Bart being ten years old eighteen years ago and the same goes from everyone else, God knows how many summer holidays have we've witnessed and he's still in the Fourth Grade. This show just needs to vanish from our screens as soon as possible, perhaps with a quiet d'oh from Homer and an apology from Matt Groening.

The final thing that needs to die, at least in it's current incarnation is Transformers, I grew up watching Generation One and loved it because it was a cartoon that wasn't afraid to pull it's punches in regard to content and characters. The newest Armada and Energon, and probably Cybertron but I've yet to see it are nothing short of a disgrace to their origins. It is the typical children's moral pulp that seems to just flood modern cartoons today, I mean in the Generation One movie we see Prime and Megatron properly tear into one another, we see Transformers actually die properly and not be rebuilt two episodes later and there are not crap children who just take up air time with their ********.

Aside from those three and "reality TV" in general I can't really think of anything else that needs to vanish from our screens forever, rather than be repeated ad-infinitum.

MTV should go. Not like any music is being played in the first place.:animedepr All of those "makeover shows" need to be flushed too. Extreme makeover? Gone. Extreme makeover home edition? Dead. A makeover story? Capoot. Talk shows are useless too. Originality went out the window a LONG time ago.

-The Simpsons: It's only gone downhill. It's still kind of funny, but it's only a shadow of what it used to be, and it's getting worse every year. Just end it before it soils its brilliant, decade and a half long legacy.

-Most Reality...oh, who am I kidding? All reality TV Shows-Anything worthwhile that there was in Reality TV at the start has been lost. I honestly think that they stay on the air because there's a large group of people who like to watch rednecks and morons yell at each other. They're boring, pointless, and most of them boil down to people screaming at each other and crying/getting drunk for an hour. I think I'm preaching to the choir here, but...come on, networks!

-Any Incarnations of Dragon Ball that there are left: Honestly, was there any creativity in this show after, oh, I don't know, the first episode? It boils down to anime people looking angry and screaming, while other people gasp and then...one punch is thrown. It's boring, and there's been way too much of it. Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT...what are they on, now?

I wouldn't take Family Guy off the air. It manages to consistantly be funnier than a lot of other animated shows out there, and yet it's drawing a lot of fire, for some reason. I agree with the whole MTV thing, though. They only play videos at, like, 1 in the morning to 4 in the morning, and usually it's all crappy rap music. MTV stands for Music Television! In the eighties, it created the music video, and now look at it!

:animesigh
...I'm done now.

I disagree with the Simpsons, I have watched that show since the beginning, and I don't think it's losing it at all. It's merely moving from one angle of comedy to another. There's way more slapstick and dumb humor there for sure, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Simpsons, like Family Guy, is a great show to just vege on.

Besides, I would like to see this show go on to become the longest scripted series ever made, it doesn't have that many seasons to go to get there, or at least make it to the 20 year mark.

On another note, I recently found a renegade tape that had fallen behind the couch some decades ago, It has a episode of Tracey Ullman on it with a simpsons short. It was very interesting to see. ^_^;

Any and all Soap Opera needs to die a most painful death. It had a good thirty year run The Price is Right needs to go bye bye. Power Rangers was good, when I was seven. I'ts had it's time, it needs to die. Any show on MTV needs to go. Reality TV as a whole needs to fall off the face of the earth. And finally anything with Pauly Shores name on it needs to stop now.

Amen. Thank you for remiding me of Power Rangers. The original Power Rangers? It was great. Sure it was a poor storyline, and it was put together terribly, but we thought it was awesome. The blatant rehashes? Disgusting. Ninja Storm? Dino Thunder? What the hell is that? Is it too much to ask to et it die an honorable death? Why can't they just let it go? For heavens sakes people. Let's just say this. The overwhelming majority of attempts to bring back or reincarnate any childrens television shows are failures.

I enjoyed the first three seasons, but never had time to watch any of the fourth, so I never got into it. I was under the impression that 4 was the end.

My only passionate comment on the state of television today is that Cookie Monster now eats fruit and proclaims that cookies are "a sometimes food." It breaks my little heart.

What ?! Those villainous fiends, were it not for the fact that I've not watched Sesame Street in years I'd be even more outraged than I am already. I mean come on he's the Cookie Monster, you can't go and take his principal fare away from him and then have him spurt some message about how it's better to eat fruit. I know it's a kids show and the morals have to be there, but he's the Cookie Monster and by God the Cookie Monster should be able to eat his cookies in peace.
