Serenity

Serenity is possibly one of the most epic movies I've ever seen! It's funny, actioned packed, and epically awesome at all times. I loved it, and I recommend it to everyone! If you've already seen it and wish to praise or bash it, please do.

It hasn't come out at this part of the world yet, but after seeing [I]Firefly[/I] - especially because it was cancelled and cut short - I totally want to see Serenity.

I'm so thrilled that they decided to make a movie about the ill-fated tv-series, because [I]Firefly[/I] was definately the best sci-fi -series I've ever seen. It was unique, the characters were original and black, sardonic humor florished. Only negative side on it was the lack of a consistent "main" plot, but I reckon the movie will have one. ;D

I'm also glad that they kept all the old actors (or did they?) in the movie, because they were phenomenal!

Too bad I have to wait till December... :/

[SIZE=1]Well I had no big expectations for this since I knew almost nothing about it when I saw it, aside from what the trailer shows. I thought it looked cool, and my friend asked if I wanted to see it so I did. Sometimes thats the best way, when you have no expectations for a movie you can't be too disappointed if it isn't too great.

Needless to say, I loved it. I never saw the series, but my friend filled me in on it before the movie started.

It was diffrent & fun. It was like The Fifth Element, westerns, a little Matrixness, and Starship Troopers(without the large bugs) all in one. I loved the humor mixed with the action.

I also recommend this. There are some things that you won't understand if you haven't seen the series however, like me. So I guess watching that or reading up on it before viewing the movie would be a good thing. ^^[/SIZE]

Of course I'll see it...I too am a fire-fly enthusiast. Although I didn'thear about them being canceled...which angers me! :animeangr STOP playing dumb old hulk episodes and get some real sci-fi! I love the hulk and all but c'mon its like kicking a dead horse it's not going anywhere...

Ugh...yeah Im pumped about it...I've alreadly downloaded the series...or what there was of it. :animecry:

Ah...Serenity. It's been in theater's for a few weeks now, and I've sinned for not having seen it.

I'm a fairly recent addition to the Firefly fandom--I only started watching it when the Sci-Fi channel started showing it a few months back. Or course I loved it! It is a welcom breath of fresh air on the Sci-Fi channel, which has only played relatively old or crappy stuff since FarScape.

I read an excellent review by Orson Scott Card about how he saw Serenity. But I have to apologize for not having the URL on hand (I lost it! :animecry: ) In summary, he said that he would love his story 'Ender's Game' to be like Serenity if he ever gave the rights for it to become a movie.

Having read 'Ender's Game', I think that's high praise.

He also said that if Ender's Game, as a movie, can't be done as good as Serenity, that he would just see Serenity over again.

I will get out to see it before it leaves theaters, or I will have really committed a sin that I can never repent for!

This is a great movie, if underrated. It seems to be a hit with the critics and movie-goers-- that is, the movie-goers who've actually seen the movie. Its promotion has been terrible, and nobody has seen it. It ranks right up there as one of the best movies I've seen this year.

As a fan of the Firefly TV series, there were a few things done in this film that really shocked the living bejebus out of me. Seeing [spoiler]Book and Wash (but especially Wash) die gave this movie an excellent "anything can happen" vibe during the climax.[/spoiler] I loved it. I laughed, I cried. I nearly jumped up and shouted "yes!" a few times.

I loved it, I've been a huge fan of Firefly since it came out and was soooo excited for the movie. The movie was awesome and even in times of hardship, Joss found a way to bring humor into the dialouge. I heard they were thinking about making another one...and that, would be TITS!
