Discuss Bloodlines [M-VLS]

[size=1]Hey, I came up with this idea a while ago, and I was wondering whether anybody would be interested in it if I posted it in the Inn. I thought I would check in here first before posting it straight into the Inn.

Also, any feedback, positive or negative, would be welcome. I always like to know how to improve my work.

We sat in our Glacier, watching the three strands of the Timeline, the past, the present, and the future, watching as one became another, as the present ebbed away into the past, the future became the present and the past became ancient history. This has been the way of the Prophets, the Seers, for centuries.[/color][/size][size=1][color=Navy][/color][/size][color=Navy]

[/color] [size=1][color=Navy]But over the last few years, something has been going wrong in the three bloodlines. Before, they wove together to make an intricate tapestry of family histories, and ancient power, but in recent years, they have been slipping away from each other, falling apart. The ancient power that has guarded this world from the evils of the next will soon disappear forever, and at that time, the world will be engulfed in darkness.[/color][/size][color=Navy]

[/color] [size=1][color=Navy]So the Seers have seen, so it will be done. We may not like it, but it must happen. This world will be cleansed, and a new one shall take its place.[/color][i]

[size=1][color=DarkGreen]We have been seeing more and more incidents of dark creatures breaking through the borders. There have been over thirty incidents in the last month, with civilians being harmed and even killed by monsters that have been of ?indescribable terror.? The Seers must be right. The bloodlines are drifting apart, and the ancient power that once held the beasts of the Otherworld back is fading, allowing them through the barriers that once separated them from this world.[/color][/size][color=DarkGreen]

[size=1][color=DarkRed]We have been there since the beginning. The start of the world was also the start of us. We are the oldest of the three bloodlines, and we understand them the most. We have seen them spring into life and twist their way around each other, forming a web of families, and a network of massive power. We are the oldest and most powerful race on the planet, and only we have the access to the full power of the network of bloodlines.[/color][/size][color=DarkRed]

[/color] [size=1][color=DarkRed]But in recent months, the strength of the bloodlines has been fading, and with it our power has been waning, leaving us unable to leave our underground caves.[/color][/size][color=DarkRed]

[/color] [size=1][color=DarkRed]We know now that we must restore the power of the bloodlines, or this world will be gone forever?[/color][/size][size=1][/size]

[size=1]The world is different to what it was centuries ago. Let me start from the beginning. When men were created, so were a race of monsters, a race of beasts that could be called ?anti-men.? They were the opposite of man, holding none of the positive qualities that man possesses. As they were created, they fought man, a vast, long, bloody battle in which millions were killed.[/size]

[size=1]After four centuries of battle, the Gods stepped in, not wishing for man to destroy himself any longer. They set up a barrier between this world and the ?Otherworld,? the other dimension where the beasts were imprisoned for eternity, and this barrier was sustained by the power of three bloodlines.[/size]

[size=1]The first was that of the Elders. They were direct followers of the Gods, and they did their bidding. In return for their staunch loyalty, they were granted control over the power that the three bloodlines possessed. Only by using the Elders as a sort of conduit could the other two bloodlines use their power to keep the beasts back.[/size]

[size=1]The second of the bloodlines belonged to the Seers, the Prophets. They could see the future, the past and the present, and use this power to help the Elders plan for the future. They wield the power of the timestream, an infinite supply of power, but if it is released, it could endanger the entire universe.[/size]

[size=1]The final bloodline is that of the Kingdom. The Royal bloodline has always had a part in the power of the three. The Kings and Queens of the past had forged their alliance with the Seers and the Elders many years before the war began. They use their physical strength and their weapons to fight off their foes, instead of the Seers and Elders, who use mainly magical attacks.[/size]

[size=1]But, in recent years, the bloodlines have been fading, drifting away from each other. The bonds are at breaking point, and if the bloodlines are separated completely, then the barrier will crumble and the beasts will be allowed back into our world, the world they have longed to return to for many years.[/size][size=1][/size]

[size=1]However, there are those who have been tainted by the Otherworld. They have felt its power and turned their lives to trying to free the creatures that dwell there. They know that the power of the three bloodlines is what keeps the barrier intact, so they are trying to destroy those of the three bloodlines. These humans are given special abilities by their connection to the Otherworld.[/size]

[size=1]Ok, so here?s the basic idea. This is a fantasy setting, similar to Lord of the Rings, or the Abhorsen books if you have ever read them ([i]Sabriel, Lirael [/i]and [i]Abhorsen[/i]). You can choose to be a part of any of the three bloodlines, or one of the enemies. However, if you choose to be an Elder, you will be trapped within a system of underground caves that you are unable to leave without the help of the other two bloodlines. The Elders and the Seers can use weapons, but they mostly rely on their magic, but those of the Royal bloodline (this doesn?t have to be kings, queens, princes etc, it can be nobles, like knights and so forth) will use their weapons and their physical strength to fight the oncoming tide of evil.[/size][size=1][/size]
