Guest kuroinuyoukai
I believe in ghosts. I think I have seen one before. Where I used to live there was an old family crypt in a cemetary close to my house. It obviously has not been opened in a long time. Well anyway there is a door similar to a dungeon cell door in the front and a barred window in the back. I used to drive around cemetaries at night. One night I was driving by and stopped where the headlights were shining in the door. I saw a figure in the doorway inside the crypt. I went back in the daytime and there was no way in but the door. It was sealed and locked with an old rusted thru padlock. I checked the door and it didn't budge. My second experience was I was standing with my friend (who was a witch)in an older graveyard. It was the poor graveyard and there were a lot of children that died of diseases. Well there were no houses for miles and miles. It was in the middle of the day and I heard a little girl laughing behind me. I turned around and no one was there. I looked down and at my feet was a grave of a little girl. I told my friend that it was time to leave! :catgirl:
Panda
WOW. This thread is going nowhere. Then why not just close it? :animesigh
TailTactics, if you felt this was a dead thread why did you feel the need to double post just to bump it back to the top? If you feel the thread should be deleted then PM one of the moderators or administrators of the site and we can deal with the thread without you breaking the rules and double posting. Since there have been some responses I am going to leave this thread open as long as it doesn't attract spammy posts. I am also deleting the double post I quoted above. If anyone has any questions on the rules of the site or posting quality please feel free to PM myself or any of the other moderators on the site. Thanks. Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. Do I believe in ghosts ? The honest answer is no, and the same goes for the supernatural. However when I say I don't believe in ghosts or the supernatural, that is not to say I don't believe in angels or the spirituality associated with Catholic belief, I know it sounds like a contradiction but such is the nature of faith. I suppose I don't believe in ghosts because the part of me that reveres science above all else refuses to believe that which cannot be proven scientifically, thus the existence of ghosts and the supernatural. The part of me that is Catholic then doesn't believe in ghosts because after we die we either go to Heaven or we go to Hell, or we go to Purgatory but there's no going back to haunt the living. Retribution
I believe that when someone dies, they go straight to heaven or hell immediately. As Gavin briefly mentioned, I don't believe there is a way to return to the physical realm. The idea of Angels and Demons being able to leave their respective realms also seems a bit ... unlikely to me, however the idea of God Himself is rather unlikely, so I won't really expound upon that either. Heh. All ghost movies/documentaries and bogus! :p
Outlaw
While in a calm state of mind, I can say that I don't beleive in ghosts, I know somewhere deep in my subconcious that thats just not true. I know this because if it were true, I wouldn't ever be scarred of them. And yet there are times were I find myself unable to sleep at night because of possible supernatural accurances. If it were true than I wouldn't be freaked out and have trouble sleeping after watching movies like the Poltergeist or the Haunting, or that I wouldn't have gotten that tingling in the back of my neck while reading some of the stories on that site, thinking about how all the unexplainable stuff that has happened to me could be from ghosts. But I do. Thats how I know I beleive in them. And I honestly don't know how I feel about that. I am personally a Episcopalian Christian, and as such, beleive that people go to heaven and hell after death, and that there is something far bigger than ourselves somewere, something beyond our comprehension. I beleive that just as the tiny micro-organisms floating around inside my body are unaware of me, and who I am, I'm probobly just some little omeba to some higher being aswell. But this is going off on a tangent that could bring about a crisis in faith for one who has not seen the power of prayer as I feel I have, so lets just leave it at this: I beleive that there are things in this world that are above and beyond our own understanding.
Derald
I believe in the paranormal, because really, how can we know anything is "normal"? I mean, humans seem to want an explanation for everything, they don't just let things be, and thus they try to disprove things such as ghosts based on human logic. I'm pretty sure there are different realities other than ours and no one can prove or disprove them with "logic," then no one can really argue, now can they? So ghosts could just be spirits in another plane of reality somewhat close to ours. And thus, we really have no way of proving or disproving anything on this plane of reality. Humans just make things up.
