Shangri-La. A land of plenty, where the rivers never run dry, and the food never runs out.

Since Genjyo Sanzo and his party defeated the demon lord Gyumaoh, the minus wave that had previously spread across Shangri-La dissipatd, and things returned to normal. The youkai returned to their former selves, and they lived in peace with the humans once more.

Shangri-La developed, skyscrapers rose high into the air, cars and other motor vehicles became commonplace. Shangri-La became a modernised heaven for humans and youkai to live together in harmony.

But once again, someone is trying to mix the blood of youkai and human, an act forbidden by the gods, spreading a minus wave once more, which has spread over Shangri-La, turning the youkai into ferocious beasts which kill humans relentlessly.

Now, Shangri-La once more calls upon four heroes, this time with a little help from some others...

The figure, seated at the table in a fashionable coffee bar, placed the small porcelain cup down on the table as he felt a strange feeling jolt through his body.

"Again?" he said quietly, twisting a cigarette into his mouth and lighting it, "I guess I'll have to find the others..."

"I can't believe how fast that kid can eat," said the waiter, watching the young man devour the entire contents of the "All You Can Eat" table.

Suddenly, the young man stopped and doubled over, clutching his stomach.

"No wonder he's got indigestion," said the waiter.

"A-again...?" whispered the man, before grabbing his coat and leaving the restaurant at a run.

"Hey, did he pay?"

The women giggled as they fell onto the bed. The tall, purple-haired man stood over them, taking off his shirt.

"You redy for this, ladies?" he asked. Suddenly, the doors to the room burst open, and a slight, dark-haired man rushed in.

"Please excuse me, ladies," he said, bowing to the women in the bed and smiling, "But my friend and I have some business to attend to."

"Can't it wait?" asked the purple-haired man, "This is the first real tail I've gotten in weeks, man."

"It's kind of urgent," replied the slight man, "Please just come with me. And put on a shirt."

"Fine," he said, putting his shirt back on, "But you owe me big time for this, dude." The two men left the room.

"Sis!" shouted the man, throwing his coat on, "We gotta go!"

"Why do we have to go now?" whined the young girl, following her brother reluctantly.

"Because its time!"

"I don't wanna go!"

"We have to!" The young girl followed grudgingly as her brother left the building...

In case you hadn't guessed, this is a Saiyuki RP. It takes place three years after Saiyuki: Reload Gunlock, and Gyumaoh has been defeated. However, another minus wave has spread across Shangri-La, calling the Sanzo-ikkou into action once more. This time, however, they are accompanied by Gyumaoh's son, Lord Kougaiji, their former enemy, and his little sister, Lirin.

[/size][b][size=1]Genjyo Sanzo[/size][/b][size=1]: A high Buddhist priest ordered to travel to the source of the minus wave by the Three Gods, along with his companions that he has shared many adventures with. Human. [b][Raiyuu][/b]

[b] Sha Gojyo[/b]: The product of a taboo intercourse between a human and a youkai, Sha Gojyo is half-human, half-youkai, meaning that he wasn't affected by the minus wave. He loves good smokes and bad women. Half-breed. [b][Che][/b]

[b] Son Goku[/b]: Also known as "The Monkey King," Goku was imprisoned in a mountain by the gods for a crime he had committed at an early age. He stayed there for 500 years until Sanzo released him. Earth'sChild/Youkai. [b][Lionheart][/b]

[b] Cho Hakkai[/b]: Once a human, he travelled to the Tower that belonged to the 100-Eye Demon, who had raped his lover, and killed 1000 youkai, turning him into a youkai. However, his human blood prevented him from being turned by the minus wave. Human turned Youkai. [b][Wraith][/b]

[b] Lord Kougaiji[/b]: The son of the demon lord Gyumaoh, he was once the enemy of the Sanzo-ikkou, but when they defeated his father, he realised that it was more honourable for him to join them than to destroy them, and he wishes to regain his honour. Youkai.

[b] Lirin[/b]: Kougaiji's little sister (technically step-sister), Lirin is a free spirit, carefree and happy even with the horrors which go on around them. She is obssessed with Sanzo, and even though he treats her like dirt, she still tries to follow him. Youkai.

[b] Yaone[/b]: A youkai saved from the 100-Eye Demon by Kougaiji. She has since been in his debt, and has become a loyal member of Kougaiji's crew. Youkai.

[b]Dokugakuji: [/b]The final member of Kougaiji's team, Dokugakuji is like an older brother to Kougaiji. Taken in by Kou at a younger age, he has become a loyal member of Kougaiji's crew. He never forgets a promise, and no-one can make him break them. He is also Gojyo's half-brother, although unlike Gojyo he is pure Youkai. Youkai. [b][Delta][/b]

I will also be accepting three self-made characters if anyone wishes to. You can be either an evil Youkai, or you can be a part of the Sanzo-ikkou, but in which case you can either be a human or a youkai with a power-limiter.

Dokugakuji may register as a brainless bodyguard at first glance but he really assumes the part of the dependable older brother of Kougaiji?s posse. While Yaone watches over Lirin, Dokugakuji tries to keep Kougaiji?s temper in check and is often the one to present alternative solutions to problems. He has proven his loyalty to his three companions many times over and will not hesitate to reprise this role again.

It seems as if he has always lived to protect something, and right now that ?something? is Kougaiji.

[b]Weapon:[/b]
A sword with a curved blade and an eye embedded into the hilt. Its edge is an arm and a half long and can cut through metal with ease. Like other youkai weapons, this only materializes when needed.

[b]Powers:[/b]
Dokugakuji has a rather high pain threshold, a trait which he finds extremely useful when he catches blows directed at his teammates. He?s also one of the strongest youkai under Kougaiji?s command.

[u]Fudou, three years ago[/u]
To the east of Fudou is a mountain range that stretched from north Lou-an to Kantou at the south. Dense woodland spills over from the mountains to the cliffs and it is on the base of one such cliff that a group of three white dragons alighted. Their three riders got off and ran towards the top the cliff in great haste. There, they found another dragon sitting near the edge. From the way it mewled, even the lovely view of Fudou can?t seem to distract it from the discomfort of being chained to a tree.

A scarlet-haired rider approached the beast and removed its restraints. It licked the rider?s cheek and flew to join the other dragons at the base with a squeal. The rider then marched to the cliff?s edge and narrowed his crimson eyes at the view. ?Tch. She ran off leaving him in a place like this.?

One of his companions knelt and examined the ground where the dragon sat. The rider was a lithe female with purple hair. When she was done assessing the tracks, she went up to the scarlet-haired rider.

Yaone rubbed her forearm and bit her lower lip. [b]?Lord Kougaiji, it seems that Lirin left just a while ago? But I guess it she?d have met Sanzo?s group by now.?[/b]

[b]?Gah! What a pain in the neck!?[/b]

A dark-haired rider emerged from the shadows and clamped a hand on Kougaiji?s shoulder. [b]?Easy, [i]Onii-chan[/i]. You?re starting to sound like you?re worried about her.?[/b]

Kougaiji pushed the rider?s hand off. [b]?Shut up, Dokugakuji! What do you know? Acting like some older brother, tch.?[/b]

[b]?Hnh. You sure said it.?[/b] Dokugakuji folded his arms across his chest and gazed at Fudou?s direction. [b]?My father also had a mistress, and I had a younger sibling out of the deal. A half-brother, yeah? He was a cheeky little bastard, but he was pretty cute.?[/b] His lips broke into a smile and he looked as if he was lost in some good memory. It was the first time he talked about his past. Sure, it felt uncomfortable but he knew his charge could use the story. After all, he and Kou, they were very much alike. Dokugakuji shook his head and laughed. [i][b]What a way to bring back the old times[/b][/i].

Sanzo glared at them and smacked them both over the head with his paper fan."Shut up you stupid little brats!!! I don't care if your hungry! You both can starve!"

Lirin frowned and started to whine frantically until Kougaigi walked in the room.

"What the hell is going on here?!!"

"Onii-chan!!! Your awake. *She pionted wildly at Sanzo and frowned.* The droopy-eyed baldy wouldn't give me any food!!!!!!!!"

Kougaigi put his hand over his face and walked back to the room. "I can't handle this right now. I'm going back to bed." And with that he was gone.

"Stupid bald priesty! You scared him away!"

Sanzo's eye twitched and hit Lirin over the head again. "Shut up!! And who you calling bald?!"

Lirin rubbed her head and walked outside. *I'm really hungry. Maybe i'll find some fruit to eat.*

Weapons: Her fists and innacent looks.
Powers: Evan though she's small, Lirin is very strong and usually does a powerful punch attack.

Yes, fighting youkai on a daily basis, nearly having his head chopped off every week, and getting no chicks for months...definitely his idea of a good time. "Not!" he said aloud, causing his companions to look at him.

"Not what?" Sanzo asked, with an annoyed look on his face. To retain his reputation of "sane", Gojyo thought fast.

"What's 'not' is [i]not[/i] any of your business, my dear priesty," he said with a smirk. This, in turn, earned him a hard smack on the head with a paper fan. "And where the hell [i]do[/i] you keep that thing? If it's in your-"

There was a gun not two centimeters from the bridge of his nose. "Keep talking if you want to die," Sanzo growled. Gojyo stopped talking. Immediately.[/COLOR]

[B]Weapons:[/B] His favorite weapon is his shakujou staff that uses a chain to control it's blade- a messy piece in battle to be sure.

[b]Personality: [/b]Hakkai takes the role of peacemaker in the group. He is calm, very much a mediator between the conflicting personalities. He has become Sanzo's advisor (even if Sanzo doesn't listen to him most of the time), Gojyo's best friend and Goku's big brother.

[b]Character Snippet: [/b]Hakkai stood atop the cliff face, looking far out over the horizon, to the West. Their long and arduous journey would be taking them far away from anywhere he had ever known. India. A land of youkai, turned insane by the Minus Wave. He stroked his hand past the power limiters on his ear. He thanked God for them each and every time he faced the youkai in battle.

[b]"Penny for 'em?"[/b] said a friendly voice from behind him. He turned to see his old friend, Sha Gojyo, walking towards him. This was a rare instance when he wasn't carrying his blade. These definitely were troubled times.

[b]"I was just thinking about how different the world will be when we stop the resurrection of Gyumaoh. It will take a lot for the humans to ever trust the youkai again. We will essentially be outcasts."

"You can't blame the humans for judging the youkai. We've seen first-hand what they've done. And as for being outcasts, we know all about that anyway. We've been on the outside looking in for years now," [/b]replied Gojyo, [b]"But remember, Hakkai, now's not the time to be getting sentimental on me. We've got youkai to fight, and us standing aorund talking isn't going to be of much help when the next wave of them comes around."

"I suppose you're right, Gojyo,"[/b] said Hakkai, smiling, [b]"I guess I should just take each day as it comes, and not worry about tomorrow."

"That's the spirit, Hakkai,"[/b] said Gojyo, [b]"Although you being over here did give me an excuse to ditch the monkey for a while."

"I heard that!" [/b]shouted Goku from the campsite, [b]"You stupid pervy nympho Kappa!"

"And here they go again," [/b]said Sanzo exasperatedly, his hand sliding down towards his fan. The third fight of the hour broke out between Goku and Gojyo, and Sanzo stepped in, hitting them both with his fan, shouting various obscenities at them.

[b]"Well, I guess boys will be boys," [/b]chuckled Hakkai...

[b]Weapons: [/b]None, unless you count the Youryoku power limiters that he wears on his ear as ear clips, which suppress his inner powers.

[b]Powers: [/b]Hakkai is a master of Chi Gong, an ancient Chinese martial art which uses the body's [i]chi [/i]energy to focus the mind. However, Hakkai has taken this to the next level, by using his ability to form destructive [i]chi [/i]blasts, or create barriers to protect him and his friends from harm.

[/i][b]Personality:[/b] Sanzo is not what you'd expect of a holy man. He's brutal and worldly, and makes no attempt to cover up his atheism - strange for the highest-ranking priest in all Buddhism. He's quick to anger, his favourite phrases being "die" and "I'll kill you". He's sworn never to become attached to anything, but deep down he's quite attached to his companions.

A vein twitched in Sanzo's forehead. Those two had been wrestling in the back of the jeep for three hours without changing insult. He looked sidelong at Hakkai's slightly fixed-looking smile.

Sanzo growled to himself and shook out a Marlboro. A drag on it started to relax him a little. He could just about begin to block out the incessant jabbering -

A flailing foot caught Sanzo a glancing blow. His cigarette flew out into the jeep's slipstream, ground into the desert dust by the tyres.

Kougaiji is a caring, compassionate person at heart, though he rarely shows it. He usually comes across as constantly irritated and Dokugakuji must always watch over him and keep his anger at bay. He is honorable and just at heart, and had realized that he should not fight against Sanzo but with him. He still holds a slight grudge towards Son Goku for deafeating him in battle, and is eager still to defeat he young demon boy.

Kougaiji slamed the door behind him and growled, baring his fangs. He had gotten home from a walk around the city looking for Lirin. Lirin had dissapeared from the hotel again, probably to go and flirt with Sanzo, at least that's what he thought. No one was at Sanzo's apartment. He slammed his fist into a wall and pulled a char from around the table violently, plopping himself into it. He scanned the room in an attempt to calm down, but to no avail.

Dokugakuji walked in from his room and smiled at Kougaiji before walking over to the fridge. He grabbed some food and sat down at the table as well. He grinned and pat his friend on the back. Kougaiji rolled his eyes over to Dokugakuji menacingly, but his friend's happy smile and cheerful demeanor got the best of him, and he sighed. Dokugakuji smiled and began half eating, half speaking.

[B]"So...where were foo dis morfning? And where isth Wirin?"[/B] Kougaiji sighed again and shrugged. He reached for a glass on the table and twirled it underneath his finger.

[B]"I was out looking for Lirin. She dissapeared without so much as a notice. When she gets back, I'm going to break every bone in her body for making me go out to look for her."[/B] Dokukaguji smiled at Kougaiji and spoke tauntingly.

[B]"Watch out Kou, you're showing off your soft si--"[/B] Kougaiji smashed the cup he was twirling and glared at Dokugakuji. He got up angrily and grabbed his jacket. He spun on his heel, flung the window open, and jumped onto the windowsill. He paused, looked back at Dokukaguji, and muttered something about brining back Lirin even if it killed her, which it hopefully would.

He sprung from the windowsill and lept across the rooftops around the apartment building. Down below, Yaone, who had just arrived back from the store, looked up to see Kougaiji flying over her head. She smiled lightly, shook her head, then headed home.

Kougaiji is quite powerful as a hand-to-hand fighter. His other equally used weapon is his powers.

Kougaiji can create fire, lightning, and other elemental forces to use at his discretion. He can also summon demons from Hell-Fire, which, though it is a very slow process, can be quite devestating to opponents. This ability besides just being slow is also very draining and is only used when absolutely neccsary. [/SIZE][/CENTER]
