Adahn
What are your views on creation? Was it God, aliens, evolution? Where does everything come from? Where do babies come from? Why are we here? How did the earth get here? If we're all going to die eventually, why should anything exist? Are there other creatures out there that have an intelligent perception? Can the universe exist without anything/anyone to perceive it? I'm just screwin' with ya. I'm thinking about a different kind of creation. I'm thinking about what man creates. I have a desire to create something. Sometimes I wish I could write something new and interesting, and have it read all over. I want to make something different. I want to create something that prevents cancer, AIDS, and death. I want to know if this desire to create is instinctual. Is it in you? What do you want to create? What have you created? Anything beautiful? Anything you're proud of? I also want to know what you think of the 'creation drive'. Do you think it's instinctual? Do you think it's a product of our environments? Is it both? Neither? Before I make my own decision on the matter, I want to know what you all think and feel.
Stark
Okay, I think that the drive to create something is pure instinct. We all want to be remembered somehow, and by as many people as possible, so we strive to leave a mark somehow. For some people that can be art, others through music. Writing is a way too--have you noticed how many stories written by men who are long since dead that we now deem as good literature. Talk about leaving a mark, these people have found a degree of immortality! What I personally have created is nothing much, just a 47 page story that needs massive editing and around 20 or so poems, about five of which that I'm willing to publish. What I want to create is a story that one day will be known as good literature. Okay, I want to be famous, or at least leave an indeliable mark on absolute strangers. I want people to read what I write and go "Wow...that was great." That's what I ultimately want to create. Nothing special, mind you. Nothing world shattering. Just...it's something, at least.
