I was wondering if anyone else has checked out this anime. It's one of Geneon's newest productions. "Le Portrait de Petite Cossette" or Portrait of Little Cossette, is a three episode horror anime. And while I'm not much of a horror genre fan, I admit that this one had me wanting more of it.
With an atmosphere of dread and a gothic design and narrative, LE PORTRAIT DE PETITE COSSETTE is a horror anime of the highest caliber. Eiri is an art student who makes money by working in an antique ship, where he comes across a curious Venetian glass.

When he looks into it, instead of seeing his reflection, he is witness to the life of a young and beautiful blonde girl, Cossette. He becomes entranced by the events in the mirror, where Cossette has been waiting for over two centuries for someone to see her trapped in the glass. Eiri undertakes an oath to help her any way he can, but little does he realize that doing so will lead down a horrific path, instigated by Cossette herself.

LE PORTRAIT DE PETITE COSSETTE leads the viewer down a dark path by combining artistic animation with psychological horror in a tale of supernatural obsession.
Care to share your thoughts?

This anime is so cool looking. and i mean that if you like the whole goth/lolita style. I personally think it is cool. There is just something creepy about a little girl who wears clothes from the 18th century and lives in a glass. Also there are only 3 episodes to the series so it is short. So im not really sure we can even call it a series.

That's because it's an OVA, not a series.

Like other Akiyuki Shinbo works, Cossette has an interesting visual style, but at times it's kind of disjointed and incoherent. If you aren't totally captivated by how it looks, you might just be bored. It lacks the sense of fun found in something like Tsukuyomi ~ Moon Phase. Nor does it have Soul Taker's quirkiness.

Cossettes is really excellent in terms of animation and music. Just don't expect it to totally make sense (or draw you in emotionally).
