Ikillion
Well after a wile I was finally able to see Black Cat become an Anime. I personaly loved it to death, but my thoughts on it arn't the ones that matter. I think it has some real potention to become the next Naruto in time since up till now there has only been three episodes of it released, a foutrh one to be realeased this week. This is a breif overview of the anime Black Cat is about a former assassin, Train, and a former investigator, Sven. While Train was an assassin, he was known as Black Cat. He used to work for an organization known as Chronos. Chronos controls the world and maintains the peace. It has 13 of its own assassins. Train was the 13th. Train and Sven are now bounty hunters, known as Sweepers. Train bears the number 13, in roman numerals, on his left chest and on his gun. Sven wears an eye patch over his right eye. They make their living going from place to place and catching bounties. Another former member of Chronos, Creed, plots to destroy Chronos. Creed wants to make a new world. Creed creates an organization known as The Messengers of The Stars, and gather other people who have gained unique powers through a special potion. Train wants to kill Creed for something that happened in the past, Creed wants to recruit Train to his organization, and Chronos' assassins are putting Creed and The Messengers of the Stars as their number one objective to destroy. I do find it slightly wierd being that the first couple of episodes dont follow with the manga. Hopefull that would be fixed in the coming episodes. I always find it funny in some ways since Train has cat like eyes. With ellipses for his pupils on his eye and always whenver he make an assasin strike theres always this cat srceech that goes on. I do hope that It get enough speed to be launched off into the skies of the anime greats.
Dagger
I've seen the first episode and read up on the manga a little. I'm willing to continue, but one aspect of the basic set-up fills me with dread & trepidation. Simply put: I'm fed up with heroes who start off as elite assassins/killers/whatever and then become the world's greatest pacifists (Kenshin! Vash! Abel Nightlord! ARGH!). It even irked me in Get Backers, and Ginji isn't nearly as bad as those mentioned above. I can sort of handle it if they're like that from the beginning of the series... but I just don't know whether I'm up for watching the protagonist start off as one of my favored shounen character types and then slowly become one of my most disliked character types. Therein lies the main pitfall of going in chronological order, I guess. It just makes me want to slap characters like that when they act all perky and comically incompetent. Ugh. The main reason I want to stick with Black Cat is that I can tell already that I'll pretty much worship the ground Creed walks on. That said, can someone spoil me a little (or a lot, whatever's necessary) for the manga?
In the manga, has Creed already been dealt with by Train & company? Do they kill him or what? Assuming that's been resolved already, what happens? If not... well, never mind.
It has a nifty visual style, especially given the generic designs and obviously not-so-hot budget. So that's another plus. Oh, and can anyone comment on the female characters? Like, how useful/cool or useless/annoying are they, compared to the female characters in other shounen action anime? ~Dagger~
Noside
This anime is an odd medlay of many different thoughts, ideas, and art directions. I like it,but a lot of those around me find that it moves in too many directions and at has a weird timing to it so they don't like it so much. What do I mean by medlay? What I mean is there is a darkness to it and yet there is also a light hearted side. The opener and closer make it seem like it's a light hearted action comedy, but that's not what it is. It has a very dark side to it deep in it's core, this was made obvious by a few scenes in the first episode. I think I now understand the problem of those around me, the extreme transitions is what must be bugging them. To go from something so dark as
Train having a dream of himself as a kid kiliing a guy
to what happened next and then the closer; the best analogy I have is going from a dark room into the sunlight, it burns a bit. Now for another thought: My impression from the opener is that a team of four forms eventually. Train, Sven, Eve, and the girl who's name I forgot, the chemistry between Train and the girl is good and the same goes for Sven and Eve, hopefully the chemistry's still good when the four come together. I hope that all made sense.
Ikillion
Well from the last time I remember
Creed was still causing as much chaos as ever. He killed one of the numbers.. I am pretty sure it was the one with the bazooka/club I just cant remember his name at the moment. What I find cool about his sword is that he can be across the room and draws his sword and nobody would know how long it is. He could be fighting some random guy and the guy says," Haha! your across the room and cant even touch me." Wile Creed comes out of nowhere making his sword longer at his will and slices him in half.
I dont know if this is just what I am thinking... However doesnt Train seem to come up a little short on the unique weapon department in chronos? I mean all he has is a gun that cant be broken. Wile others have
a bazooka, Some very very sharp wires that cut through stuff, a giant lance, what ever those side blades are called. I am already afraid what number 1's sword (cant remember the name now) can do..seeing as she is number one and all.
I have just been wondering why he seemed to get the short endof the stick..? Ben Holiday
Came across the first 9 episodes of this recently and just finished watching the first 2 it seems fairly interesting and there's enough goofball antics to keep me watching to see where it goes. Dagger
It started airing recently, so it hasn't yet been licensed for a North American release. Given the genre, though, you can probably expect it to start coming out here eventually. ~Dagger~

Ben Holiday
Well Train really was cool until after episode 5 or 6 I think Dagger was right the complete reversal of all the interesting characters to other more humorous roles or pacifist roles is a bit dissapointing. I thought Sven was going to be the main comic relief but by episode 9 everyone is a comedian Train was a cool character too but at this point I'd rather watch something a bit darker I like a little comedy but this is too much. I may track down the manga and see how it reads the characters did seem cool in the begining so it may be worth a look.
