As you can probably see, the sign-ups have divided pretty well between these three generic genres, but I'd really want more versatility. Characters from other genres, more females and critters, less bulky hotshot studs - you know what I mean.

There's still time to sign up for this game, I won't make the final decision until next week (which means the game will start much sooner than originally announced, thanks to your activity).

I have thought about it, and I can't probably take more than 20 contestants into the game, so [B]being different from the others is really your key into the game here[/B]. Most of those who have already signed up won't have anything to worry about, but I will have to "cut the fat", as the saying goes, so you are free to use the edit button if you're uncertain wether your entry was good enough.

Okay, here's what I'm going to do then: I'll play Samus Aran, but it'll take me a bit to write another sign up, so no one steal her away from me in the mean time. And that'll also get another female character in here to help balance things out.

I was considering signing up as Tom Nook from Animal Crossing, but it's been so long since I played AC that I'm not familiar enough with his character anymore. Too bad, because that could've been funny.[/color]

[color=#222222]Mario walked into the room standing tall, proud and ready. He carried a suitcase in his right hand and a sheet of paper in his left hand. As he stepped forward towards the flying fluffball known as Mog, he thought of his friends back home in Mushroom Kingdom who needed him to win this game.

He put out his finger and shook Mog's hand.

"Hello-a! I'm [/color][b]Mario Mario[/b][color=#222222], brother of[/color] [b]Luigi Mario[/b][color=#222222]! Pleased to meet you-a!" he said as he handed the interviewer his resume. The Mog replied very loudly and almost.. excitedly.

"Kupo! Fantastic! I'm Mog, and I'll be interviewing you today. To start off..." Mog motioned for Mario to take a seat, and he did. "I'll need a picture of you!"

Mario swiftly swung his Suitcase up onto his lap and unlocked it. He opened the top pulling out four photos of himself and handed them to Mog.

The small Moogle took the photos and quickly looked them over, smiling. "These are great, kupo! Next, I'll need to know what game or games you are from, kupo."

Mario placed his hand on his chin and then spoke. "Well-a.. let me see-a.. Originally I was known as 'Jumpman' in my 1981 Donkey Kong arcade game. From then on, I later became known as Mario of the Mario Brothers. I have starred in many games, being Nintendo's Video Game Mascot and all, such as-a Mario Party 1-7, many Mario Sports games (i.e. Mario Kart) and others such as the newest Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix-a!"

The Mog stood still for a moment taking everything in and then continued. "Ku[i]po[/i]! That's alot of games, kupo!"

Mario blushed and replied. "Yes-a.. I get around-a."

"Well.. let's continue, then! I'll need to know what the genre of your games are..." said Mog.

Mario stood still with a blank look on his face, then slowly started talking.

"Well-a.. er.. I guess I have been in Sports games, Platformers, RPG's and maybe some others. But generically I would say Platformers with a pinch of RPG-a." he said shyly, wondering if that was a decent answer to the question.

"Kupo! Sounds good! Now, I'll need you to think hard for a second. If I were to ask your closest friends what your personality was, what would they say, kupo?"

Mario thought and quickly replied as if he were his friends. "Well, they would say-a.. I'm very charming and fun to be around. I am a hard worker and [i]very[/i] persevere." Mario blushed and quietly added. "Peach would also add that I'm very handsome-a.. hehe.."

The moogle chuckled and said to the Plumber. "Well, so far, so good, kupo! What, would you say, are your talents, kupo?"

"Well-a.. let me see-a.. I can jump very high, and spit the fireballs-a. I have very high endurance when it comes to running long distances-a and-a.. well that's really all there is-a.."

"Kupo! Great! One last question, kupo! What's your motive for being here?"

Mario quickly replied. "Well-a.. It's about the Mario games. They have been selling a.. less and less over the years and-a.. I think if I win this game more people will-a remember about my games and buy them-a!"

"Interesting." said Mog. "Well, it's been a pleasure meeting you, kupo! We'll be contacting you shortly and I hope to see you soon, kupo."

Mario stood up, picked up his suitcase, shook the Moogles hand, turned around and walked out the door feeling proud of himself.[/color]

Thanks for all the sign-ups, guys! There's now a total of 26 sign-ups, but I've decided to take only 18 players for [I]three[/I] teams.

Fret not, there's still time to sign-up until [B]this Sunday[/B]. I'll return then from a small trip, and will close this recruitment, announcing who's in and who's not. The game itself is going to start sometime [B]next week[/B].

This game is going to be something totally else, I tell you! ;D So stay tuned, and keep those sign-ups pouring in!

Samus stood just outside Mog's study, waiting to be called in next. The line had been quite long; apparently, these games were rather popular. Idly skimming back through the rules of participation she had saved to her log book, she wondered how many of these people would make it in.

"Next!" Mog was finally heard to call from within the small study as the door swung open and the previous interviewee walked out.

Morphology: Moogle
Sentient, unagressive creature. Capable of flight with the small wings on its back.

Samus caught the door before it could swing closed, then entered. Inside, hovering above a small desk, pen and notepad in hand, was Mog. Switching to her scan visor, she gave the white, furry creature a once over.

Flipping to the next page of the notepad, Mog greeted his next guest. "Welcome! Have a seat, and let's get down to kupo." He motioned with the pen to a chair facing the desk and Samus moved to sit. "First question, kupo! Can I get your name?"

Samus gave a slight nod and smiled behind her visor. "[b]Samus Aran[/b]." She was liking this Mog so far. He reminded her, in a way, of the etecoons she had saved from planet Zebes.

"Great," Mog said as he wrote the name down at the top of the page. "Do you have a picture of yourself with you . . . ?" He paused a moment, looking like he wasn't quite finished. "Maybe without the helmet on, kupo?"

Giving a small chuckle, Samus reached up and removed her power suit's helmet. A blond ponytail spilled out from its confinement and Samus shook her head slightly to settle it behind herself. "I figured you might want it, so I got one of each," she said as she procured two pictures. One showed her with her [url=http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/5542/metroidprimesamus1gt.jpg][u][b]helmet on[/b][/u][/url], the other with it [url=http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/2625/metroidzeromissionending67ef.gif][u][b]off[/b][/u][/url], and she handed both to Mog.

Mog looked a bit surprised as he took the pictures and affixed them to the notepad's page. "Oh, you're. . . ." he trailed off.

"Hmm?" Samus had picked up on what Mog was perplexed over but she just smiled. She got that reaction fairly often when people learned she was a women. In truth she found it amusing to throw peoples' misconceptions out the door.

Mog quickly regained his composure and moved on to the next question. "Kupo, nothing, kupo. So, where are you from, Samus?"

"I don't exactly have a permanent place of residence," Samus answered. "I'm a bounty hunter, so I'm always on the go. Hunting bounties, as it were."

Mog jotted down the information, occasionally glancing back and forth between Samus and the notepad. "Sounds interesting, kupo. Are you very well known?"

"Just a little," said Samus, making more than just a little understatement. "I'm best known for hunting the floating lifeforms known as [b]Metroid[/b]s."

"Oh, are Metroids dangerous?"

"Yes, they--" Samus began, before deciding it might be best to spare the details. "Yes. It was quite the [b]adventure[/b], hunting them down. Lots of running, jumping, dodging -- you might call it [b]platforming[/b] -- and [b]shooting[/b]. Though I was paid a handsome sum for the effort."

"Very kupo," Mog said. "Moving on, could you give a brief description of your [b]personality[/b]?"

This question caught Samus off guard -- or at least as off guard as something was able to. She hadn't really thought of how to describe herself in words before. "Well. . . . I'm generally easygoing, if fairly serious. People tell me I need to lighten up, but only in the context of work."

"Would those be the people who've got the bounties on them?" Mog interjected.

Samus laughed. She was definitely getting to like Mog. "Sometimes. But, as you can see, I do have a sense of humor. I'm not all cold armor and large guns."

"Next kupo then," Mog said as he finished noting everything. "Do you have any special [b]talents[/b] or areas of expertise?"

"Besides hunting bounties?"

It was Mog's turn to chuckle. "Yes, kupo. Something more specific?"

"There's a lot I can do with my power suit," said Samus as she began to list off some of her abilities. "Shooting is not the least of its abilities, and I've got more than good aim. It lets me perform acrobatic maneuvers I wouldn't otherwise be able to accomplish. I know various martial arts for close quarters combat. . . ." She trailed off, looking to Mog to see if she should continue.

The page on the notebook was almost full by now. "That should be enough, kupo, thank you. One last question, though: What's your [b]motive[/b] for joining this game?"

"What else?" asked Samus, before answering her own question. "I'm here to hunt a bounty."

"I hope you mean you want to win, kupo." Mog fluttered up and down in the air a bit, as if getting ready to take off in a hurry. "I'd hate to think you're coming after me!"

"Of course," Samus said with a smile. "I make it a policy not to shoot small, fuzzy creatures if I don't have to."

Mog stopped his fluttering. "Well, that's a relief. The participants will be posted in a couple days, so be sure to check back then."

"I will," Samus said as she stood up and replaced her helmet. Strolling to the door, she gave Mog a thumbs up before taking her leave.

Virgil: Well i get on well with people who aren't trying to kill me. I am cold and guarded at first, but once someone gets to know me i open up. I always say what i think, and am confident i can beat anybody.*smiles to himself* Even that Prince of Darkness. It wasn't so hard.I am very arrogant and when i'm given a task, i drive myself at it,until i achieve my goal.
Mog: okay kupo,what are your talents?
Virgil: I have the same powers as Dante, use a samurai sword and instead of guns i use shuriken, as i abhore modern weapons. They lack honour, which is the core of a warriors being. I also make a mean scrambled egg.*briefly smiles* But seriously, i think i have what it takes to win.
Mog:Ok lastly kupo, what are your motives for joining this?
Virgil: Well firstly it's to show i'm the better brother, and that modern weapons have no honour, but also my drive, my dtermination, my thirst to win, has to be slaked.
Mog: Okay kupo, go outside and join the other contestants.
Virgil: You're not scared of me. I like that.

I want to thank everybody who signed up for their activity, I was really overwhelmed by the popularity this game gained in such sort notice. Some of the sign-ups were better done than others, but I also had to select some players by how interesting their chosen characters were.

From now on, things will advance so that [B]I will make the actual game thread sometime in the next few days[/B], and each of the contestants will post an "introductory" post. Then the eighteen will divide into [B]three teams[/B] which will [B]compete against each other[/B] in various contests. After every contest,[B] two losing teams will vote out, or "delete", one of their teammates[/b]. At some point the[B] teams will merge[/B] into two, then into one with individual contestants, until only [B]one player remains[/B] to claim the title of the [i]Ultimate Videogame Survivor[/i].
