ScreamSin
I'm not sure if one liners are allowed, but what the hell. First off, don't assume you can draw great in a short amount of time. It leads to hell, trust me. I suggest taking an art class. Some classes specialize in manga style. If you're more like me, someone who doesn't like classes, then I suggest getting some drawing books. My personal favorite line is How To Draw Manga by Hikaru Hayashi. Really helps. My biggest piece of advice? Keep drawing. Doodle. Sketch. It took me all my life of drawing and doodling to get to my level, and I still have alot to learn. It'll take you awhile, but you'll eventually find your own style and become a great artist. Kei
The unwritten guideline for one sentence posts it that if it's well-structured and has extreme significant meaning to the thread, it's all right. However, there is an exception, that being an initial post. Please keep in mind that this is no way to start a thread in the future, 'kay? Thanks. ^^
Guest Kid_Dylan
"Good" is a matter of opinion. Remember that a good artist will forever doubt his/her own ability, and you'll just have to go by whatever anyone else says. Here's my advice. This is how I got to my level, which people say is pretty damn good (like I said, I will never belive I am that good. A manga-ka will always, and I mean always look above to other great artists. I still wish I could draw like Akira Toriyama). First of all, avoid tracing books. Those will increase your skill by like 0.0001%. Get actual DRAWING books. I prefer ones by Chris Hart. He's great when it comes to explaining how to draw new things. Also, a great way to develop your own personal style of drawing is to take what you like best from other manga-kas. For example, I draw using the way Sekihiko Inui draws noses, Akira Toriyama's eyes and ears, etc... COPY!!! This may seem like a "cheap" way of developing your talent, but let me tell you, nothing works better. Like a charcater or pose? Copy it. Soon you'll be able to draw them yourself at the drop of a hat and then you'll be able to draw your own guys.
