GuyYouMetOnline
Eiffel was about the last person Kiva'd expected to change patners. So she'd wondered why he had a Gabumon now instead of the Patamon he used to have. And now she knew. Kalika'd killed Patamon, amd she'd done it personally. This also explained Eiffel's actions against Monodramon. Kalika'd done it to him, so he'd done it to her. But now that he'd done what Kalika did, was he any different from her? Kiva knew the answer to that question. Yes, Eiffel was different from Kalika. The difference could be clearly seen in the reasons for their actions. Kalika's reason was simple: she wanted to make her partner stronger as fast as possible. Eiffel'd only done it because Kalika had done it. Maybe his wasn't a good reason, but it was a different reason. Kiva had to assume that Eiffel could see this completly obvious difference. but maybe he also saw additional problems. No matter what the reason, he had killed Monodramon. Digimon were nothing more than some very good programs, but they certainly seemed real. She could undersand the moral delemma over killing one. She herself didn't think twice about it, though she didn't get pleasure from the act like Kalika did. Despite her own beliefs about the act, she could understand why some found killing Digimon morally questionable. "Eiffel, listen to me," Kiva said. "I won't pretend to understand what you're going through, because I don't. That's probably why it seems ridiculous to me. I don't understand. I've seen it before, but I don't get it. You do, but I don't. You may call it murder, but I don't agree. You can't kill what isn't alive, Eiffel. You don't seem to see it that way, but that's how it is. So snap out of it, okay? You've already done the act, you can't change that. Just do whatever you have to do to deal with it. There's nothing else you can do, except stop playing if you can't handle it." Eiffel didn't respond. He may hav been paying attention, or he may not have been. Kiva didn't know. What she did know is that saying anything else wouldn't do any good. So she didn't say anything more. She just stood and watched Eiffel, waiting for whatever came next to come.
Frankie
The large digimon that had appeared was rather angry looking. Rain didnt seem to care though and Lopmon just yawned. "If you think a two on one battle will finally finish me off you are wrong. I figured at one point you would seek help but stooping so low as to seek the aide of a human? I feel sorry for you now. So there are two of you ready to fight? I have a friend as well." A large white and blue spiked digimon growled as it came from the hole. It was unable to fly but something told Rain that this small detail wouldnt change much. "The power of Friendship and Light can destroy all who challenge us." The large one growled from the ground. It was a Togemogumon. "Indeed it shall!" Quetzalmon took in a deep breath, "Toltec Wind!" As she breathed out the wings on her head flapped as well sending a hurried breeze at the three floating in the air. Devidramon guarded well against it and Rain stood up on his head. "Leap off lopmon. You know where to aim." She whispered, " Devidramon do you mind placing me somewhere that might be a little safer?" "Fine." Devidramon took her in his hand and lopmon leapt off his head and with his large ears he floated downwards towards Quetzalmon. He was small and she was focusing on Devidramon. Rain silently pressed the button on her device and lopmon grew in size within a few seconds. The next thing Quetzalmon knew a huge brown digimon slammed into her as it fell. He snake like body spiraled down as Endigomon gripped onto her and pushed her down towards the ground. Devidramon placed Rain on the top of a tree. She stood on a branch and watched. Endigmon had landed but unfortunatly he had not landed ON quetzalmon like planed. She had slithered her way out of his grip enough to land next to him instead of under his weight. She prepared to fire off another wind like attack when Endigmon swung his huge fists at her. She never had a chance to actually take a breath or to fly higher because he kept jumping up and grabbing her tail and pulling her back down. Devidramon was having trouble as well. Although he could fly and Togemogumon could not. Togemogumon had weather power on his side. His Hail Machinegun attack caused Devidramon some pain and annoyance. A rain of hail would slam into Devidramon and he would have to shake it off and try his own attacks again. He was unable to use Crimson claw due to the armored spikes on the digimons back but Dark gale and red eyes seemed to have more of an effect. Rain had thought about this and groaned. "They are fighting seperate battles... They need to work together although they are not partners yet." She thought about this a little more, "That one digimon has an armored shell of spikes on its back..." "DEVIDRAMON, ENDIGOMON! Work together for crying out loud! Lord Devi... Figure out a way to flip that hunk of hail." Endigomon heard this and smiled. He had thought of an idea. He swung a fist at Quetzalmon who fired off an attack. The attack missed and she tried to retreat into the sky. Once she noticed she was flying but going nowhere she noticed that Endigomon had a grip on her tail again. Instead of just pulling her down this time he also began to swing her around. He moved is way closer to the Togemogumon and slammed Quetzalmon right into the spikes on the back of her friend. She screeched in pain as she and her friend rolled from the impact. Togemogumon's spikes got him stuck in the dirt but before Quetzalmon could help flip im over again she found Edigomon's fist in her jaw. Devidramon took this moment of weakness on Togemogumon's part and landed. He lifted his huge red claw and it began to clow. He grought it slashing down upon the digimons belly. "Crimson claw!" He shouted as hs claw sank into the stomach of his opponent. The Togemogumon deleted and vanished. As devidramon flew into the air for a bit of rest he noticed Endigomon was having a bit of trouble. Quetzalmon had managed to get out of range and even Endigomons ranged crushing attack wasnt hitting its mark. Devidramon swooped on by and slammed his long whip like tail into Quetzalmons back. She fell into the ground and Endigomon began to swing her in the air. He let go and she was flung back into the sky. Devidramons four red eyes began to glow dark crimson. He fired off a red beam that tore right through Quetzalmon. She twitched mid air and Devidramon grabbed her by her wings. She pulled and ripped both wings right off. She was soon deleted. Endigmon, Rain just noticed, had one leg that didnt seem to move right. She realized it was in stone. Quetzalmon must have used her fossile wave at some point but missed by only a little. Endigom smashed his fist into his leg and the stone vanished. He devolved into Lopmon and whined. "I just rested too. Remind me next time to take on the one on the ground." Lopmon sighed. Devidramon picked both Rain and Lopmon up and placed them on his head. "Well Lady Rain. I beleive you did help me. So... I will accompany you on your journey wherever it may take you." Rain smiled, "Just call me rain ad Ill just call you Devidramon or Devi ok?" He nodded, Rain had to balance to keep herself from falling over, and he flew a little higher, "So Rain. Where to first?" ---- ooc: meh... If anyone wants to see rain or something go ahead. Im gonna take a while to think of something new to do... unless ou have something in mind takuya. if so do you mind PMing me?
Revelation
The once calm and collected RhodoKnightmon was soon overcome with anger. There was not a thing in the world that could have prevented her from destroying anyone who came her way, almost as if her mind had been lost and all she could do was fight until she was deleted. No one could have blamed her for her actions, they were quite reasonable and in this case, it was the best to go about fighting, though Angel wouldn?t have wanted it that way, she would have preferred that RhodoKnightmon had a clear head but either way, her digimon friend was strong and was capable of coming out alive. Goodbye, my friend. One day, we will meet again. Angel hardly had any emotion in her left to even take pain into her heart. She then put her focus on RhodoKnightmon, watching the digimon?s speed, stealth, and strength pouring out of her, knowing that this was the digimon?s way of mourning for her friend. Kick their ass, RhodoKnightmon. Make them pay. Everything that had happened within the arena went by quick, as if time had stopped only for them. By now, SkullGreymon, ShadowWereGarurumon, and the Tyrannomon were either deleted or removed from the arena. The Floramon had presented himself again and stood with the microphone in his hand, testing to make sure it was working. He then proceeded to addressing the remaining digimon fighters. ?On behalf of Barrage City, we?d like to thank the fighters for coming and participating with us. We mourn for those who came and are gone, though they shall preserve the land around us and bring happiness. With further news, KingEtemon has a final word for the audience before we begin the final round.? The digimon made way for KingEtemon, who came with a flashy robe and rod in his hand. He was the king of Barrage City and everyone knew it well for he was great in his reign but at times had a stubborn head and an unleveled one at that. All eyes were attentive towards him and gave him the most utmost attention, wanting to hear his speech. ?My fellow digi-fans, I?d like to say congratulations. You fought well and now, it?s time for the finale. The last one standing in the final round will receive my shiny little cane and they?ll also have unlimited passage to my city.? Cheers from all around were heard but KingEtemon talked through it. ?Let the final round begin!? Everyone remaining seemed so tired, they merely walked back to their respectful places and rested. Angel could see RhodoKnightmon walking back to her and Wormmon. There was great pain in her stride; it was uneven and heavy, as if the world was collapsing her. RhodoKnightmon merely clenched her fists and once she was close enough, she punched a large hole into the wall behind Angel, who didn?t flinch or move. Her heart was dark and her soul was lost, but it made no difference on Angel?s heart. She was still as indifferent as she would have been if her parents had died. ?He died peacefully, RhodoKnightmon. There was no pain but there was shame in his death. You have to win, RhodoKnightmon... for Reichmon and for your friends.? Angel looked to her digimon friend. ?They?re counting on you to avenge their deaths. So... avenge them you shall.? Not a word was spoken by RhodoKnightmon, not a word needed to be said for her actions would speak louder than her words. It always had been that way since Angel had befriended RhodoKnightmon, something that could never be changed. RhodoKnightmon was an array of emotions, allowing them to seep through her self and open up to others but all the while, turn in an instant and close her self up, like a book. Now, it was that time once again, where RhodoKnightmon would put the happy-go-lucky, cheery self and put on this hardened armor, masking herself from those around her, not allowing them to see the pain she feels inside. A bell began ringing out, signaling the midday hours. At this moment, the arena had changed and became something of a roman coliseum with gates all around underneath the bleachers with the fighting digimon making their way onto the arena floor, coming out with whatever reason they were fighting for. RhodoKnightmon looked to her opponents and watched them, giving them an equal hatred, whereas Wormmon and Angel were watching them and studying them as if they were textbook. As this happened, a slight breeze passed through, winding up a storm of dust, disabling the digimons? sight from their opponents. One of them jumped back and stood in a waiting position in case anyone made a move, another tried to fight their way out of it, but RhodoKnightmon stood there, welcoming the cover and the disadvantage it brings to all, listening to its voice, his voice. Be strong, my friend, be strong. She smiled slightly and opened her clenched fists to touch the dust, which almost held her hand. She shed no tears but inside she was crying her heart, wanting it to pour out and break down. His voice was so soothing and calm, almost as if he were standing next to her. I?m here with you. I?ll catch you if you fall. All she could say was, ?Thank you.? At those words, the dust had disappeared and RhodoKnightmon ran with quick speed and furious anger exuding from her person. She fought a Strikedramon hand-to-hand, never using an attack but merely quickening her pace and her powering her strength by fighting with a militant style. Soon, she wore him down and with a beautiful jump into the air, she released Fist of Athena. The Pile Bunker shield sealed around her, generating energy as it did and with great agility, she quickly delivered a deadly blow to Strikedramon?s stomach. The other digimon looked on with fear, as did the audience. The shield released itself and RhodoKnightmon stood, watching the data be released. Without even turning, a flurry of rose petals began to swirl in the air around her until she couldn?t be seen and with precision, she released Spiral Masquerade, watching her ribbons sharpen to never ending blades and watched it follow the two digimon who tried to escape the sharp knife-like ribbons, only one survived and this digimon was Piedmon, a Mega level virus digimon who looked like a clown. He laughed manically as he stood behind RhodoKnightmon, except that the figure in front of him was nothing but a body of roses. ?This is for Reichmon.? RhodoKnightmon did not want to see this digimon fight nor did she want to fight him for she knew that if she started, she wouldn?t stop. She had to end it before anything began and in doing so, she stuck several sword-like ribbons into him, which impaled it deeply. She also watched this data fly away, not knowing what to do anymore. ?You?ve done enough, Piedmon, goodbye.? ------------- OOC: If anyone would like to include Angel, go ahead. She has nothing else to do after this for the time being.
GuyYouMetOnline
Kiva was tired of just standing around. Eiffel would come out of it eventually, and her presence was obviously not making any difference. And she didn't want to spend her recreational time trying to comfort some random guy she'd met in VR. So she left him, Gabumon, and Guilmon by themselves. Garudamon grabbed her and Hawkmon, then flew to where they'd left the uncouncious Haku when Kalika had shown herself. When Garudamon landed, Kiva saw that he was awake. She'd expected that he would be. There was only one reason that a player would lose conciousness when in-game. Although no pysical damage could be sustained by the player's avatar, the in-game representation of the player, pain was still felt. Things didn't hurt as much as they would in real life, but there was still some pain. And the more serious the injury that would have aoccured, the greater the pain tended to be. Severe 'injury' sustained by the avatar, injury that would likely be fatal if it were real, usually had severe mental consequences to the player. For that reason, if a player's avatar has sustained such 'injury', the VR unit rendered the player temporarily unconcious. That way, there was no risk of mental consequences. The player would regain conciousness in a couple minutes. "You all right?" Kiva asked Haku. "I'm fine," Haku replied. "You must be Kiva. Agumon told me what happened. Thank you for helping." "No problem. Just be careful, okay?" "I will." "Good," Kiva said. Garudamon grabbed her and Hawkmon again, and took off. "Where to?" Garudamon asked. "Back to Serenity," Kiva told her. "Maelen should be in-game by now, and she told me yesterday that she's trying to get players together to enter Astralis. It'll be one hell of a ride, and I don't want to miss it. So let's go, and fast." "Got it," Garudamon said, "though I'm not so sure I'm looking forward to Astralis. That place is nasty as hell. Nastier, probably, and that's just getting through it. Fighting Armegeddemon at the end will be even worse. But I'll go if you want me to." She flew towards Serenity at top speed. --------------------------------------------- OOC: 'Good' players, this'll be another opportunity to get together for an event (and I'm hooping that more of you will come this time). Meet Maelen in Serenity City if you're interested. 'Bad' players, please read my PM (if you didn't get a PM, you should be a 'good' player. If you think you should be a 'bad' player and you didn't get a PM, then please PM me).
Sheath
By the time Sheath had gotten back to the battle everyone was gone. She cursed very loudly. She was trying so hard to control her emotions, but all she could think of was her first meeting with Myotismon, she had been so young, so inexperienced. Salamon had only been able to digivolve to Champion then, and she had no befriended digimon. He had been the most powerful digimon she had ever met at the tiime, and she had no known alignment then... she had challenged him, not really considering the fact that there was no way she could win. He had let her off with a warning. She had visited him a second time, when she was stronger, when Salamon could reach Mega level and this time she was victorious, but she spared him, let him live as a return for his kindness... And a third time to ask him to join her, but he refused, said his pride wouldn't suffer any further because of her... and now... She sighed, she had enough. Time to log out for the day... besides she had violin lessons to go to. "I'm logging out now." (OOC: I hate being left behind... oh well, I should have known this would have happened when I signed up.)
Circ
Eiffel gave a weak smile as Kiva left. Of course she wouldn't understand. Eiffel himself wasn't sure he did. "I'm not sure what I looked for when I first came here, but I know I'm not going to find it anymore," he thought aloud. "And yet I don't want to stop now." Gabumon put a comforting paw on his side. "We wouldn't want you to either," he said. Guilmon nodded his approval. Eiffel grabbed the digimon's horn and shook it in good humor. "Probably the sweetest thing I've heard in a while. And it wasn't even real," he commented. "Your world, your rules," he muttered. "Kalika will understand that or my name is not Michel..." Eiffel walked off with a sigh, motioning with his hand for his friends to follow him. He walked up to Rosemon. She nodded at the player, barely acknowledging him busy as she was directing the aftermath operations. There were wounded to heal, building to reconstructs and survivors to account for. "Rosemon, today we saved your life. Yet there is still much to be done in this world. Will you accompany us on our quests?" he asked respectfully. She gave him a solemn look, but shook her head. "There is too much to do here to abandon my people now. I would, however, have a last request for you," she answered. "That is?" Eiffel asked, curious about the issue. "The rest of the dragon clan is still at large. They will eventually rebuild their forces and cause trouble again. Now is the time to squash them completely and make sure they won't threaten the peace of our land again." Off course, that wouldn't change anything and before long, new, fresh trouble would brew all over in the peninsula. He still smiled weakly. "I will do as you request." OOC: I'll fool around a bit and possibly drop into your storyline later. I'm giving myself another post before Eiffel log off for the day. GuyYouMetOnline
After arriving in Serenity, Kiva quickly located and approached Maelen. "Thought I'd find you here," she said. "It still on?" "Nice to see you, Kiva," Maelen replied. "Yes, of course it's still on. I'm having to delay it, though. I got held up at work and couldn't log in as early as I'd hoped. And there are still last-minute preperations to be made. Well, not so last-minute, I guess. Everything'll take long enough that it'll be too late in the day. No, we'll go in tomorrow. I'll see you there." Kiva nodded. "You certainly will. Tomorrow it is. You'll be logging in as soon as possible, I assume." "Yep. As soon as I get off work, I'm going to head to the nearest VR facility and log in. I'll see you then." "I'm looking forward to it," Kiva replied. Maelen walked off, and Kiva turned to her Digimon. "Well," she said, "if we're not goinng in until tomorrow, I might as well log off. I'll see you tomorrow." She selected 'Log Off' on her digivice, and was pulled out of VR and back to reality. Kiva got out of the VR unit. Walking through the hallways of the VR facility, she passed a man named David, a co-worker of hers. "Any more problems with that unit in room 4?" she asked. David nodded. "Yeah, it's still acting up. I'm on my way to take a look at it. Hopefully, I'll be able to fix it." "Well, good luck. I'm on my way out, so I guess I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." "Bye," David said as he continued down the hall. Kiva walked out into the lobby and waved to the receptionist as she walked out the door. She got in her car, pulled out of the parking lot, and headed for home. Kiva often joked about her family's inability to understand how someone could keep having fun with the same game for two years without any breaks. She had to admit, however, that in her case it was a bit surprising. Kiva worked at a VR facility; the one she'd just left, in fact. Many people wondered how she could stand the same thing not only for the eight hours a day, five days a week of her job, but in her free time as well. Kiva's answer to that question was simple: her job really didn't have much to do with the game. She wasn't a moderator or system administrater or anything like thet. She was the person who sat behind the front desk. She signed people in and things like that. She was also the one to whom people would report bugs, or players that broke or bent the rules, or just generally made problems out of themselves; she'd then get these reports to the prober individuals. She was basically a coordinater, the person who was in the middle of everything, listening and reporting but not really doing much. The act of playing the game didn't have too much to do with her job. Kiva was looking forward to the next day's events. She loved large battles, and Maelen's attack on Astralis would definatly be one. Kiva wouldn't be surprised if some 'bad' players joined the fun on Armegeddemon's side. In fact, she was expecting it. But even if no 'bad' players showed up, it would still be one hell of a ride. ----------------------------------------- OOC: In your next posts, please have your character log out (note: you can still meet with Maelen if you want to. Just log out after that) and go home for the evening. The next day, they'll come back and log in after school/work (you can do this in the same post if you want to). Frankie
Rain thought about what to do next... Devidramon seemed rather tired as did Lopmon. She could tell Devidramon did not want to do to much so she looked at the clock on her digivice. "Oh twig!" "What is it?" "Lost track of time completely I am afraid. I need to go to work..." "Uh so you want me to land?" Devidramon asked. She nodded and he landed on a cliff. She slid down his arm and landed safely on the firm ground. Lopmon waved at her from devidramon's head. "So we be seeing you soon?" Lopmon asked loudly so she could hear. Rain nodded, "Indeed. I work in the mornings and evenings. Ill be back tomorrow during the afternoon i guess." "Whatever..." Devidramon said curling up for a nap. Rain pressed the button that was to log her out... and within seconds she found herself staring at the machine she was in. She got out and left the room. She was out in the parking lot within a few moments and tried to remember where she parked. It took her several minutes to remember she came in a cab today to avoid any accidents. She shook her head at her forgetfulness and headed down the street. Her work wasnt to far from it. After a few minutes of quick walking she arrived at the arcade. The more primitive games compared to the VR facility... these games were here. From really old joystick stuff to the driving and sports. There was also a small place for drinks and a pizza burgers place. She worked in both places. In the morning hours she helped count inventory and check all the machines... in the late evening she kept the area decently clean and she helped fix the machines. She was once in trouble for being rude to a customer... When he approched her saying their stupid game was broken she checked it, fixed it, and smartly said "It was not broken... It was the stupid customer who needs to learn how to put the coins in." Once inside she was it was extreamly busy, mainly with people playing after school. She over heard some kids talking about how they were slightly bored with the digimon thing and taking a break here. Others were to young to go into digimon or their parents wouldnt allow them. Because of these people she figured she would never mention her account. "Your late..." A soft voice came from behind the drinks counter. It beleonged to a man in his twenties but his voice made him sound a bit younger. He had rusty brown red hair and brown eyes. He wore jeans and a gamers t shirt but rain didnt care which it was... she didnt look at those details. "Yeah sorry Rusty... I forgot I didnt ride to the.." She whispered to the others wouldnt hear her, "facility... I had to walk." "Oh... Well yeah ok. Um What did you get to start with?" He asked quietly. He was curious. "Lopmon... Though from the time i logged on i was able to get Devidramon to join me for the time being." Rusty gave her one of those suspicious looks, "So I take it you are..." "Indeed. Say when was the last time you logged on?" "Bout a month ago... I have had to work alot. I am sure Patamon and Glademon are not to bored. Anyways Machine 2 in the back is on the fritz." Rain nodded and headed on back. She couldnt wait till after work tomorrow so she could log in.
Circ
Eiffel and his partners began to move out from the devastated battlefield. The man was intent on tracking the dragons if that assured him the partnership of Rosemon. Now, to get to their current hiding... Whose location he didn't know. Great. Just plain great. He sighed, his mind still charged with what he had committed earlier. He needed something to distract his mind. "You're not getting away, traitor!" That would have to do. A small horde of angry rookies and champion had apparently cornered a digimon and where trying to beat the guy to death. The Greymon could hardly defend himself against a third of the attacks. "What's going on here?" Eiffel interrupted the one-sided battle. Gabumon and Guilmon stood to either sides of him. "We are teaching him a lesson!" a random Veggiemon shouted. Cries of agreement came from all sides. Greymon tried to protest. "They killed every-" a sound punch from Golemon cut the sentence short. "Shut up! You should have died!" "Leave him alone," Eiffel ordered calmly. The gathered crowd goggled at him. His partners looked up at Eiffel, but the man shook his head. He wanted to deal with it in his own way. "It's survival instinct. When you lose everything. When there's nothing left anymore for you. When it's the last thing you can do. When it requires every last bit of sanity you have just to make another, little step..." As he spoke Eiffel slowly walked forward, the crowd dividing on his path like hot butter around a knife. Coming in front of Greymon, he turned around. "Then, maybe you will have the moral grounds to be reproachful. And, trust on that one, you won't want to, because if you do, I'll personally find you and make sure you get in the same position as him. It's not like I have anything better to do anymore." He shrugged. With his speech the crowd began to shuffle uneasily and eventually dispersed with shamed faces. Eiffel gave short glare to the dinosaur that scuttled away with an uncertain look of thankfulness. "You better not prove me wrong." An alert message began to flash on his digivice. "Please be aware that our facility will close in less than half an hour. We hope you had a nice playing session at NovelWorlds." Eiffel sighed once more. "I have to go now guys. See you another day." With these words he logged off. Michel came back to his sense in the VR unit. Normally he would rub his numb muscles and walk away, replenished with the energy to go on for another day. However, he couldn't resign himself to do that today. In the lonely darkness of the sensory deprivation tank, Michel sobbed. ============================================== OOC: Almost forgot the login off *sweatdrop*
Revelation
Standing there as the dust and roses cleared was RhodoKnightmon with a black rose in her hand. It had signaled the mourning she had begun for those she had to destroy in this competition to win and those who were gone not by her hands, but mostly it said she was mourning for Reichmon, her confidante. As RhodoKnightmon turned around, the gasps and murmurs had turned to cheers and shouts. The audience of digimon had seen their winner and was outright pleased, screaming their loudest for RhodoKnightmon who still held onto black rose. Among the crowd were several digimon who had left before Angel and Wormmon were ushered out onto the arena floor, where KingEtemon and Floramon had appeared with three HoneyBeemon carrying three objects and not just one. One of the HoneyBeemon handed KingEtemon a microphone and everyone fell silent. ?I?d just like to say, huh, thank you very much. You gave an entertaining performance. So, thank you very much.? Although KingEtemon said very little, everyone started to cheer as he took out his gold and red cane, handing it to RhodoKnightmon. ?Floramon, take the stage.? The small floral digimon took the microphone from KingEtemon and spoke into it, ?RhodoKnightmon, you are hereby knighted as one of KingEtemon?s personal fighters. He has been generous to give you this,? Another HoneyBeemon flew over and handed Floramon a specially designed card with gold trimming with the words Barrage City written diagonally, ?an unlimited pass in and out of Barrage City and any of the sister cities of Barrage City.? Floramon presented the unlimited pass to RhodoKnightmon, who took it with both hands. The next object handed to Floramon was the rod and then after that, the last HoneyBeemon came up with something in its hands but veiled. ?Finally, we?d like to present you? the Floramon unveiled what was underneath and everyone gasped. Though it was small, it was an amazing gift to possess for it was said that the egg of the Sovereign gave immense power and he only gave it to those who deserved but in Barrage City, it was passed down from leader to leader. ?the Sovereign Egg given to KingEtemon by Cyberdramon, an Ultimate Level Android digimon, who had the power of a mega. He was a great fighter and now, it is given to you.? Cheers and screams once again erupted all around, the HoneyBeemon smiled and clapped their hands as well, then Floramon and finally KingEtemon. Everyone was cheering for RhodoKnightmon, but there wasn?t anything to cheer about if one?s best friend had been deleted. RhodoKnightmon merely looked at the egg but it was more of a small glowing orb than an egg, although it didn?t matter, for her, nothing really mattered. Sighing silently, RhodoKnightmon took her eyes off of the orb and bowed slightly to KingEtemon and the others around him, following pursuit was Angel and Wormmon. They then proceeded to leaving the city, provided with an Aidramon that would take them to wherever they needed. ?To Astralis, Airdramon.? The Airdramon nodded and flew into the sky with a great might, carrying RhodoKnightmon, Wormmon, and Angel on his back. The three surveyed the land and watched as digimon looked to the sky as they passed above head. Their destination, Astralis, was a place where evil dwelled and evil reigned. It was exactly the place that Angel felt would give RhodoKnightmon a chance to redeem herself as well as Reichmon?s death, more so, it was a place where Wormmon would be able to train and practice, perhaps even get to his Mega level as Dynasmon. Angel looked away from the scenery and focused her sight on her digimon. She could see that they both had potential to become great fighters, though they needed more training and experience, something that she hadn?t had time to give. She still looked to her digimon, almost dazing off into space, reminiscing when she, herself, had been training in martial arts skills. There was something similar she had seen in all of her digimon, something she had always seen in herself. It was unmistakable, let alone unavoidable, to even think she could leave her human life in reality, nor could she have even predicted it possible to see herself in her digimon, when they all had personalities themselves. Before long, Airdramon landed and the three stepped off, thanking him and watching him leave. They were taken near the castle for getting in was among one of the most impossible missions in Digimon. With a smirk, Angel looked to the large building and found her friends refuge before entering. ?It?ll take some time to plan out our entrance into the castle. Think of a plan to get in there. We?ll need more than one plan to get in since Armageddemon has Astralis secured a lot better than Fort Knox.? Sighing, Angel looked to her digimon, ?I?ll see you guys tomorrow then.? With that, she pressed the ?log out? button on her digivice. Soon enough, Angelina was pulled out of the VR and sat there for a while before stepping out. Walking out of the room, Angelina turned around and closed the door, locking it with a cardkey as well as a specialized key that changes codes automatically, disabling anyone from getting in by their own. Angelina had to put in special information to get the code and then put them into the key to get in. Each room had a different code for her key, always changing and always having to put in information and getting information. It was a lot of work just to get the codes but where Angelina was, it was nothing to the workers. Just as she was about to walk down the hallway to the elevator, a voice called out to her. ?Angie!? There could have been only one person who could call her that without any pain running down their body. Angelina turned and could see Jonathan running down the hall towards her. He finally had caught up to her. ?You left your cell phone in your office.? Angelina gave him a waiting look. ?Your parents called me because you wouldn?t pick up and they want to know if we can come to dinner tonight.? Without waiting for Angelina?s reply, he said, ?And I said yes.? The rapid fist of Angelina had suddenly connected with Jonathan?s chest, making him step back a bit and say, ?Ow. That hurt. Stop working out, pretty soon I?ll be in the hospital. Sorry but your parents said that they really needed to see you and that it was too important to even say on the phone. Anyways, we?re supposed to be there by 8:00, so I?ll pick you up at 7:30, ok?? Giving her a hug, Jonathan walked away, still rubbing his chest. Those who knew Angelina knew that she despised dinners with her parents but knew that she wouldn?t allow them to have the pleasure of knowing that she wouldn?t show up. It was her way of saying so much with so little. Yet, this dinner had some sort of subliminal message hidden beneath the faux exterior. It would displease her to the extent of driving a knife into her own heart without so much as showing any blood but she knew that the next day, she would have the anger bottled within her and the events at Astralis would bring her great pleasure of the battles to come.
GuyYouMetOnline
OOC: Um, you do realize that, as a 'bad' character, you'll be defending Astralis, right? Also let me state that that egg thing that was the prize from the battle does not have any special power. It's just an object. Some may think it has power, but it actually does not (okay, so I'll allow it to be used as a key to unsealing barrier of some kind or something like that, but nothing else). Got it? Good. Oh, and to those of you who haven't posted logging off yet, don't worry about it tooo much. Just say your characters logs of, and then mention that your character logs back in after school/work the next day. ----------------------------------------------------- The VR facility at which Kiva worked, a facility owned by NovelWorlds, Inc. (OOC: Hope you don't mind, Circeus), opened at 8:00 in the morning. Kiva, however, had to be there earlier. The two shifts at this particular facility were 7:00am to 4:00pm and 4:00 pm to midnight. And yes, there were some people who came in that late. Not many, but enough to justify keeping the facility open and a few units turned on. Kiva didn't have to worry about that night-shift stuff, because she had the day shift. Thought the place didn't actually open until eight, getting the place up and running took the better part of an hour, which was why the day shift began at seven. And because it took time to shut the place down, the evening/night shift ended at midnight even though the facility closed at 11:30. And though Kiva didn't really like having to get up in time to be at work by seven, she knew it was much better to do that than to stay until midnight. Kiva was the first to arrive at the facility. She unlocked it and began starting up the VR units in rooms 1 and 2. She was soon joined by her co-workers. After turning on every unit in rooms 1 and 2, they leff the machines to themselves, knowing that the units would go through the appropriate start-up procedures automatically. And the employees had other work to do. There were some reports of cheaters that had to be dealt with, and it seemed that another unit in room 4 was on the fritz. And it looked like someone had thrown up in room 1. After all the routine tasks were completed, Kiva and her co-workers ran through the checklist again before opening the doors at eight. There were just a few people in the morning. There was a brief increase around lunchtime, usually one large enough to require room 3's units, meaning that those units had to be turned on in advance so that they'd be ready for use by the time they were needed. Then it was back to just a few people. As the day wore on, more people would begin to come in. After five pm was when the lace really got crowded. It was common for every unit through room 6's to be turned on and ready for use. Kiva, however, didn't need to worrry about that. After all, her shift ended at four. When her shift was up, Kiva made way for her late-shift counterpart, who took her place at the front desk. Kiva made her way to an unused VR unit and logged in to the world of Digimon. She was, of course, exactly where she'd been when she'd logged out yesterday. She was in Serenity with Garudamon and Hawkmon. Kiva knew that Mealen wouldn't be in-game quite yet, if only because Maelen didn't work at a VR facility. Maelen's job, like so many these days, was a 7:00 to 4:00 job, so she'd be in-game shortly. But just because she wasn't in-game et didn't mean that there would be no new info. After all, Kiva'd loggged out before her yeaterday. "Nay new information?" Kiva asked her Digimon. "The gathering point has been set," Garudamon replied. "Predictably, we're meeting a short distance away from Astralis, and we'll proceed to the castle as soon as Maelen gives the word or, knowing her, a rather obvious signal involving some kind of explosion." "All right, then," Kiva said. "Let's get moving. I don't want to be late." Garudamon nodded, picked up Kiva and Hawkmon, and took off. --------------------------------------------- OOC: Okay, just a reminder. This RPG takes place in the year 2023, so things will be a bit different than they are now, though not drastically different. Small things, like an increased percentage of 7:00 to 4:00 jobs. Oh, and no teleporters or flying cars or anything like that. Keep it realistic, please. Oh, and if you're planning to participate in the Astralis attack, the participants are meeting at the base of a small mountain. 'Good' players should head there. 'Bad' players will meet at Astralis itself as they prepare to aid in its defense.
Frankie
Rain had worked rather hard that night and that morning. She had one of the odder timed jobs but did not mind. She just did not like how rusty and some of her co workers could be a little tiresom to deal with. She yawned even though it was a little after 4. "Tired eh?" A boy about 17 said elbowing her playfully. "Yes I am Tod. I... had my first Digimon experiance and then went to work again... its kinda tiring you know." "I see." He waved goodbye as they parted ways. Rain smiled. Tod was a bit younger than her but not by much. He was her only friend since she moved here but she tried not to think about most of that. He didnt like digimon all that much. She walked into the facility and chose a machine. She plugged in and was sent into the world...yet again. She regained her vision and looked around. Devidramon was there and so was Lopmon. They both looked at as she yawned. "Welcome." Devidramon said quietly. "Anything happen while i was gone?" "No but I did hear news from passing digimon of something interesting." lopmon spun on one foot. "Do tell Lopmon do tell." Rain yawned again. Lopmon flipped over and did a ear stand. "Some kids are going to try to take on armageddemon in Astralis." "Really. You little fuzball? You didnt think of telling me?" Devidramon "Well no. You arent in charge so why should I? Anyways I hear all those that wish to defend it should -" Rain waved her hand and yawned again, "Ok whatever. Devidramon put me on your head and fly us to wherever we should be. I need to shut my eyes again..." Devidramon did so and Rain lay there with her eyes closed. She needed some rest. Something had kept her up part of the night. She figured a little rest would do her some good. She didnt care about this latest idea of Lopmon's but it was something to do so she deviced to go with it. Lopmon poked her with an ear, "You think we can protect it from those filthy do gooder humans?" "Considering how new I am to this... I have no clue." Rain grummbled as she felt Devidramon swoop to the side. "But perhaps I will make a friend or something there... someone who hates those angelic losers as much as I do." "There is that possability. I mean seriously... if people are to attack there will be some of those who wish dearly to defend it. You might meet alot of people." Devidramon said. His voice was a little strange due to the wind but Rain heard him fine. "Ok whatever." She said with yet another yawn.
Roxas
OOC: w00t! Sorry, it's been a long time since I've rped here. I may have lost some of my bearings, but I am pretty sure I'll find them. Also, thanks to Takuya for letting me rp. :animesmil IC: It was pretty early in the morning. The clocks all read 4:03 AM. That didn't bother Ryan, what bothered him, was the fact of whether or not his mom would find out he left the house so early. He pinned up his note onto the noteboard that his family had set up in the kitchen. He turned around, and felt his pockets, making sure he hadn't forgot his digivice. "Well, I'm all ready. I wonder what this whole Digimon thing will be like?" Ryan whispered to himself. He opened the door that led from his kitchen, to the outside, quitely. he stepped out, and shut it, making sure that it didn't make a noise this time either. He walked around to his bike, and unlocked it from it's chain. He got on, and peddled away to his new experience, Digimon. His thoughts raced as he peddelded his way to the VR center. Most of which were if the more advanced players would pick on him or not. He figured that if they did, he would just try his best to at least show them a fight. He wasn't going to be afraid anymore of those bullies. He arrived at the center, and loked his bike at the bike rack (I am assuming they would have at least one bike rack. If not, the nearest chain link fence will do. Ryan doesn't mind walking.) Ryan entered the facillity, which was not that active. Then again, it was only 4 in the morning. He walked up to the receptionist, and signed-in. "Good morning, you're up awful early their." the receptionist said to Ryan, wearing one of those fake I-am-forced-to-sit-here-all-day-and-give-you-information-but-I-love-it smiles. Ryan gave a fake grin back, he didn't like her job just as much as she did "Yeah, but I want to get as good a jump as I can get. I need some experience." With that, he headed for the VR units. He looked in awe at first to the machiene that which would send him into the VR world of Digimon. After a few minutes, he sat down inside, and placed his digivice. The VR unit scanned for the information needed, and then dropped Ryan into VR. Ryan noticed a strange sensation as he was dropped into cirtual reality, but thought nothing of it. Amon quickly regained his vision, having lost it momentairily from the drop into VR, and looked around. He was in a small forest village. He liked the quite serenity, and yet, an equal part of him hated it. His thoughts were stopped, as his digivice began to beep. He looked at it, and tried to figure out what was going on. Then, above his head, a data bubble appeared. "Well... this is intresting." Amon said to himself. Then the bubble "popped" and a small candle like creature landed in front of Amon. The creature looked up to his partner, and studdied him. "You mind telling me why you haven't introduced yourself yet?" The creature shot a small disapproving glance, then smiled. "Sorry for that, I just couldn't find any feautres about you that would signify good or evil. Anyway, I am Candlemon, and your partner." Amon looked at the little creature, and figured that it's name fit it's appearnce... a little to well for his liking. "Well, I am Amon, don't know if you knew that already, but I felt like saying it." He smiled lightly, and realized, that he was talking to a sentient being, if all it was were bits of data. "What do you mean by good or evil?" Candlemon hopped to Amon's side, and starred outward. "By good or evil, I mean that their are two sides in this world. Good, those of which consist of Angels, Protectors of the innocent, and all those other people who I care nothing for. And Evil, which consists of Devils, Deystroyers, and any other evil essence you can think of." Candlemon seemed to glow more brightly at the mention of Devils. "Good, or evil eh?" Amon said this queitly, and then thought for a few seconds. "I'm tired of people always trying to help me, tired of people thinking they are better than me, stronger than me." Amon grined evilishly. "Let's show them what we're made of." At this they both agreed on the direction they were facing, and walked out of the village. OOC: Errr... Wow... I wasn't expecting that much out of my first time back... ^_^ I feel great. Anyways, thanks again Takuya. Also, Amon and Candlemon are headed for Astrails, I will put that in my next post. I think it may be a long way's away, but their is always the "hero" to show up at the last minute kinda thing.
Revelation
OOC: I guess I should have clarified in my post about ?Astralis?, the egg, and whatnot. But, it?s understood. ----------------------------------------- There was much to be done with the VR machines, the programs, and whatnot within the company that Angelina's brother owned, a rival company of NovelWorlds, Inc. The company, which belonged to Nicolas- her brother, was one of the top ten largest companies with branches of smaller companies yet they weren?t as good as NovelWorlds, not just yet at least. They had been rivaling since before Angelina and Nicolas was born and yet they still managed to be one step behind NovelWorlds. Though, Angelina didn?t mind, she always loved the fact that her brother and she tried to be ahead of NovelWorlds, she loved the competition and couldn?t get enough of it. It was early in the morning and very few people arrived to Aeon Reality Industries, the name of the company at which she worked with her brother. The few people that arrived were the people that needed to run the VR machines, start the computers, and much more. She was glad to see how dedicated people were though she didn?t know if it was just to get a raise, a promotion, or if they really loved their job. She didn?t really care, as long as they did their job; nothing was to come of them. Walking into the elevator on the first floor, Angelina saw another employee of Aeon Reality Industries who was with the company since the beginning. He was a purebred worker who could make it to the top and perhaps even create his own company. She saw much potential in him that most didn?t, though he never really applied himself to do anything. He bowed in respect to her, she returning the bow, and he asked where she was headed. Her reply being floor three, where her office lay, he pressed the number ?3?. The two didn?t talk much and soon Angelina took off from the elevator, walking out onto her floor. She assumed the employee was headed to the fifth floor, which held the main security room, the main manual systems, and the repair room. Angelina, not yet as great as CEO and President of the company but still retaining a lower-high ranking position as manager of systems and designs, greeted her secretary, who returned the greet and handed her several packets of paper and notes. She then proceeded down the hall past the secretary?s desk and opened the door. The entire third floor belonged to Angelina and her team occupied with several empty rooms filled with either equipment or desks. She had very few employees working with her but together they made great ideas come alive. After she threw the bundle of papers and notes, Angelina took off her jacket and threw it against the sofa. She then proceeded out of her office and walked past Kara, her secretary, telling her to hold all of her calls and that she was going to the VR Room. Kara nodded and watched Angelina walked down a hall to the right to the private room which Angelina created for herself and very few others. Taking out her cardkey and the laser key, Angelina slid it through then connecting the second key to access the codes. Clicks of the locks opening were heard and soon, Angelina was inside the room, walking towards the VR machine. She stepped into the VR and logged in, closing her eyes like she always does and drifted into Digimon. Upon arriving in Digimon, Angel could see that she was where she last was, in front of Astralis or at least in the woods near it. She could see RhodoKnightmon and Wormmon conversing about how to get in. Angel walked to the two digimon and they looked her way, but were a bit cautious at first, knowing they were in Armageddemon?s territory. ?Tell me how far we?re at with getting into Astralis.? ?We don?t know yet. We were thinking of just walking up to it but Armageddemon has sentries all around and even attackers hidden around the entire castle. If we were able to get past the front assault, we have the inner assault to think about.? Standing there with her arms crossed, Angel began toying with the necklace around her neck and realized that the egg given to them as a reward from KingEtemon was dangling from the chain. An idea suddenly sprung into her head. ?Come with me, we?re going to the gate of Astralis and entering the castle.? Without questioning Angel, RhodoKnightmon took her and Wormmon and flew into the sky towards the gate that kept outsiders from entering. The three then landed and proceeded to the gates, it was then that the egg began to glow and tug at Angel?s neck. She released it from its leash and allowed it free passage to the gate, letting it glow a bright red before creating a beam of energy, burning an insignia against the gate. The egg returned to Angel?s hands and the insignia was burned against the gate, opening on its own will. Looking to each other, RhodoKnightmon and Wormmon stayed a few feet behind as Angel walked towards the opened gate. She waited for her digimon and they came, knowing that they couldn?t leave Angel alone within Armageddemon?s lair.
GuyYouMetOnline
The gathering point was easy to find, as several people and their Digimon were already there. The location was a short distance away from Astralis, distant enough to be safe yet close enough that they could all reach the place very quickly. As Garudamon landed, Kiva looked over at the castle. It looked pretty imposing, though perhaps a bit smaller than one would expect. This appearence was quite misleading. Due to some kind of... well, some kind of something, Astralis was not fully in phase with the rest of the world. Basically, it was bigger on the inside than it was on the outside. Of course, Kiva knew that the real reason for that was because that was how Astralis had been programed, but the whole 'out of phase' thing used to explain it in the context of the game did add to the overall feel of the place. Garudamon placed Kiva and Hawkmon on the ground. Looking around, Kiva spotted a few players she recognized, including Treana, Selekres, Azufe, and Kamos. There were, of course, many players whom she did not recognize. She anticipated learning a couple new names during this event. Kiva did see Maelen in the group. Obviously, Maelen had cumpleted any last-minute preperation and was now awaiting the arrival of all those participating in the attack. She saw Kiva and walked over to her. "Hello, Kiva. Glad you could make it." "There's no way I'd miss this," Kiva replied. "I've never missed any of your events before, and I'm not about to start now. They're all way too much fun. Where's your partner? And while I'm at it, where's that Zudomon you befriended?" "Tentomon's off over yonder somewhere. Well, it's HerculeseKabuterimon right now, I guess. He's waiting with Zudomon and a few other Digimon. Most of them were befriended by players who are participating in the attack, though there are a couple humans with their partners. HK's got the Digimon that can make the biggest bangs. I would have sent you and Hawkmon with them had you arrived earlier. Machinedramon would be useful for their job." "And what is their job?" Kiva asked, already forming a guess. "To open the doors," Maelen replied. "I don't have any of those easy-access items that'll open the doors for us, and I don't want to waste time solving he puzzles to get it open, so we're going to blow it to pieces. HK, as my partner, is the leader. Zudomon's there because there's not much that can stop that hammer of his. The other Digimon there all, like Zudomon, hve some weapon or attack that's capable of some major property damage. They're going to... remove the door for us. In about five real-time minutes, there are going to be some explosions at the entrance to Astralis. That's the signal to move in." "Sounds good to me,"' Kiva said. "You think that'll give everyone else enough time to arrive?" "Certainly. Look over there, and you can see a couple players approaching on flying Digimon, and one over there riding a Triceramon. They're with us. After them, there'll probably be three or four others. They should have more than enough time to get here." Kiva nodded. Five minutes didn't sound like a lot, but that was five real-time minutes, which equaled about fifteen in-game minutes. The VR equipment was able to speed up the processing speed of a human mind in VR. Computers could 'think' many, many times faster than humans, but though a human mind's processing speed could be increased while in VR, it couldn't be boosted to anything close to the speed computers could work at. The human mind simply couldn't take the stress that came with that degree of compression. The 3X compression used by Digimon, however, was well within the tolerance of the human mind, and therefore quite safe. Digimon sped up time in-game by a factor of 3 so that players could use the game for three hours in one hour of real time. With a game world as massive and complex as Digimon's, that feature was very nice. "Well," Kiva said to Maelen, "I guess I can wait for that long. But you know how impatient I am. It better not be any longer than you say." "It won't be," Maelen assured her. "Personally, I can hardly wait." ------------------------------------------------- OOC: To all you 'good' players out there: it's not too late to join the fun. Circ
The day had went all to hell for Michel. He knew he should just get over himself and go on, but he just could find the resolve to do it. Not while he was in the world, at least. Sometimes, he'd take his digivice out and fiddle a bit with it, then pocket it again. Finally, the end of the day came. Nadine remarked the depressed air on Michel face when he walked in, but did not comment on it. She was more than surprised when he actually sat to eat his meal, though. When he walked out, slowly, she though for herself "Damn! You'd swear he's walking up to his death!" Michel's slow walk eventually lead him back to his usual facility. He looked up uncertainly at the bright neon light display and walked in. The man hesitated a last time before settling in the VR unit. Michel's stomach churned slightly as his perception were snatched from his control. That was uncharacteristic of him and he attributed it to his current disoriented state. When light flashed against at his eyes, he was back in the forest. Gabumon and Guilmon eagerly waited for him. "Hey, small guy, big guy!" he tried to greet them, and completely failed at assuming any sort of cheerful tone. "Anything I should know?" "Kalika was there just an hour ago," Gabumon said. Eiffel's eyes perked up. "Really? Looking for us?" he asked. "Apparently," Guilmon confirmed. "She's got a..." "There's an assault to Astralis launching soon," Gabumon interrupted the larger reptile. "That Maelen woman is leading. That's why Kalika couldn't stay." "Eiffel, she chose a..." Guilmon started over. "So what's your plan?" Gabumon charged back in front of him. Guilmon suddenly grabbed the other rookie by his horn and threw him aside, eliciting a yell of protest from both partners. "Why'd you do that for?" Eiffel asked. Guilmon, however ignored him to address his partner. "Gabumon! You can't keep sheltering him like that!" Guilmon chastised him. "Yes, I have to! It's my duty! Look at him, damnit! Remember what happened with Monodramon! Do you really think he can take it?" Gabumon shouted back. "What are you talking about?" Eiffel tried to butt in, without getting any response. Guilmon rolled his eyes at Gabumon's reaction. "And you think delaying the inevitable will help him?" Eiffel couldn't stand it anymore. "STOP IT, you two!" he yelled. The two digimon froze and looked at him expectantly. The human turned toward Guilmon. "Big guy, what's going on?" he asked with as neutral a tone he could muster. Gabumon's ears drooped. Guilmon turned around to face him, a paw on his chin as he tried to find the best words to express the troubling fact. "It's Kalika... She... Ah... She chose a Patamon." Eiffel sunk to his knee, all resolve blown from him at this revelation. She's... Taunting me. It's a warning. She's going after me soon, and I'm not sure I'll be able to stop her. Patamon... Why did I have to fail you? I don't know if I did the right thing anymore... "Are you alright, Eiffel?" Gabumon asked with an angry side glance at Guilmon. Eiffel pulled himself up to his feet and looked down at the two digimon. He didn't know about other players, but moments like these gave him a whole different outlook to the game. They might have been virtual emotions and sensations, they were emotions and sensations nonetheless. He wondered whether the programmers realized that. The Matrix flashed into his mind and he gave a low chuckle that felt quite unnerving to the digimons. "Come on guys. We've got a mission." ============================================== While digimons might have deep personalities and relevant feelings, they were just as prone as human to display amazing feats of stupidity. The Dragon Clan was soundly defeated, its remnants confused and disorganized. Of course they would reassemble at their lair to try and rebuild their forces! Not that it would ever be possible, mind you. Eiffel smiled from his observation post. A Ryuudamon guarded the cave. Two large statues of Goldramon stood on either sides of the entrance. The rookie was hurt, but were he to spot them, the effect of surprise would be wasted. He had to be killed as silently as possible. "Hey, small guy?" Eiffel whispered. From the opposite branch, Gabumon looked at him. "You can't use your usual attacks. That'd make him spot us immediately. Ever used that horn of yours as an attack?" Gabumon's eyes widened. Was Eiffel really thinking of... "That's the best way we can get the drop on him, if I dare say so..." ============================================== Ryuudamon had to investigate the shuffling, as much as he disliked it, considering who was after them. He looked everywhere around, nervous and wary. Gabumon closed his eyes shut, desperately hoping this would work. Eiffel just smiled at his own cleverness. Guilmon watched as the orange armoured digimon slowly approached the point of no return. When it was straight under, the red lizard let go. Like a yellow and blue missile, Gabumon crashed head first into the other rookie. His horn drilled through his armour and pierced his neck, emerging from the front. The orange rookie gave a sharp gasp of pain and surprise, then exploded in a cloud of data. Eiffel dropped down next to his partner. Gabumon sat up and gave him a short glare, rubbing his neck. "You okay?" "Obviously. But I'd rather we don't do that again. I was that short from breaking my neck," the digimon answered. Eiffel sweatdropped. The possibility hadn't even crossed his mind. Roxas
Amon thought to himself of how amazing the VR system worked. He could feel, and even smell things. Even being the bits of data they were. Then again, wiht how advanced tachnology had come, he didn't expect anything less. He looked over to his partner, and watched him hop in peace and with a steady rythm. Thump, thump, thump. The Candlemon continued to hop in his own little world, with a slight smile on his face. "Candlemon, would you happen to know if anything interesting is happening? Like any type of special event. I don't want to walk around with nothing to do and waste all this time." Amon asked his partner. Candlemon was broke from his rythm, and stopped to think, which didn't take too long. "Yes... I beileve that their is an attack on Astrails. Astrails is home to an evil digimon named Armageddenmon. Their are two groups forming around the place. One good group of people, leading an attack. Some with befriended digimon along for the ride. With the toher group being bad characters, also with befriended digimon, to defend Astrails. If we hurry up our pace just a bit, we could possibly get their and maybe even help out a little bit. One digimon, no matter what the level can make, can screw up a whole battle." The candle like digimon replied. He looked up to his partner and had those round questioning eyes. Amon thought for a second, and sighed lightly. He didn't really want to take the chance of loosing his partner. He knew how so much of a small chance his partner would have against most of those experienced players. He sighed again and looked ahead. "Let's go. We can fend for ourselves. We'll help protect Armageddenmon." He looked at his partner with an approving smile, and began to walk forward. Candelmon following close by his side. OOC: Frankie, I don't really like to take control of other peoples characters that much anymore. I know it really kinda slows things down, but the upside is that someones character is played incorrectly. I just prefer for things to go more smoothly, and for people not get mad. But you know where to leave off. Sorry again.
Circ
"Anybody in there?" Eiffel called away in the darkened cave. There used to be lanterns lining the wall, but none of them were lit at the moment. Something flashed deep in the rocks and roaring came to him. His two digimon tackled him to the ground as all sorts of attack carried over him and out the cave. "Great idea, there!" Guilmon commented dryly. "Eh, sorry guys, I'm not quite... Myself today," the player apologized. "Could have told you that," Gabumon muttered reproachfully under his breath. Something stomped down the way to the entrance. Now was the time to deal with it. Eiffel pressed the evolution button on his digivice and his partner was immediately engulfed in light. "Gabumon, digivolve to... Boarmon!" The light only diminished long enough for the champion's general shape to become visible. Eiffel and Guilmon jumped on his back as Boarmon initiated the second step of his evolution. "Boarmon, digivolve to... Vikaralamon!" Even though the ultimate's massive frame blocked the entrance, and thus the light, completely, Eiffel could just picture the group of rookies and champion going "Oh, shit!", spinning on their heels and running the other way. He chuckled to himself. Vikaralamon launched a Fusion Ball down the tunnel. It cast an eery light as it sped down the bowel before exploding a long shot away. The explosion shook the whole side of the mountain and rocks began to fall from the ceiling. "It's collapsing!" Guilmon shouted. Eiffel rolled his eyes. "Thank you, Mr. Obvious! Vikaralamon, get us out of here!" he ordered. "I'm trying!" his partner began to panic. The lack of manoeuvrability that had been an advantage to attack was now proving a serious problem as the gigantic boar shuffled desperately to get out of the cave. Eiffel and Guilmon eventually jumped off his head and ran out on their own. As they reached a safe distance, the cave came down completely, burying Vikaralamon's head. His hind legs extended away under the shock and pain. "Is he...?" Eiffel asked hesitantly. "Nah... He hasn't devolved yet." Guilmon reassured him. Vikaralamon arched against the rocks to pull himself off. A flash of light and the huge boar devolved, causing the piled rocks to crash all around Gabumon as he ran away to safety, clutching at his head. Eiffel and Guilmon winced in compassion. "That's going to be one heck of an headache..." Gabumon said as he walked up to them, swaying from side to side like a drunkard. Eiffel examined his head for any wound. "You think you can still digivolve?" he asked, kneeling in front of him to check his pupils. Others would have dismissed the first-aid technique as ridiculous and inappropriate, but considering the amazing amount of realism that had been encoded into the game, Eiffel wasn't going to take any chance. Digimon were probably just as likely to get hurt the player avatars. "Maybe, but I couldn't maintain it for long. I'm pretty low on energy." "I'd guess so. How about we see what we can find for you two?" Eiffel proposed. The two digimon childishly jumped to their feet. "Yay food!" they cheered. Eiffel just fell over ============================= OOC: I might be develloping these two's characters more than was originally intended for this RP. If you've got any problem, Takuya, just send me a heads up.
GuyYouMetOnline
A Searchmon dropped out of the sky and hovered in front of HerculeseKabuterimon. Searchmon had been observing the castle from high in the sky, gathering what information he could. It was now close enough to attack time that Searchmon had returned to report what he'd seen. "Several humans entered the castle," Searchmon told HerculeseKabuterimon. "A couple had nothing more than their partners, though most had at least one befriended Digimon. Two of them had easy-access items, some were with Digimon who are probably familiar faces here and were let in without a problem, and a couple got in the hard way by solving a door puzzle. My guess is that they know we're coming." "We expected that," HK replied. "Maelen wasn't exactly secretive about this. Some bad humans were bound to hear about it and come to aid in the defense of the castle. Don't worry; we're ready for them. Now, it's amost time. Go tell Maelen to move out." The Searchmon flew in the direction of Maelen and the gathered humans. HerculeseKabuterimon watched Searchmon fly off, then turned his gaze towards Astralis. It was indeed almost time to begin the attack. HK knew this, as did all the other Digimon. Digimon had an unerring sense of time. Humans remarked about them accessing some kind of 'system clock'. HK wasn't quite sure why they used that particular term, but he knew what they were talking about. Digimon had an exact sense of time. So HK knew precisely how long it'd been since he took his force and began waiting. And now, he knew that it was time to begin the attack. HerculeseKabuterimon looked at the Digimon assembled to open the way into Astralis. "It's time," he said. After Searchmon had arrived, Maelen told the gathered players that it was time to move out. Just as the group started to move, there was an easily visible explosion at the front of the castle. "Go!" Maelen shouted. "Forget order, just get there as fast as you can and back up the other Digimon!" She turned to Kiva. "Kiva, I'll ride with you." Kiva nodded, then told Garudamon to carry Maelen as well as herself and Hawkmon. Garudamon nodded, picked up all three of them, and flew towards Astralis, accompanied by the attacking force's other flying Digimon and their parters/the humans they'd befriended. Astralis's main entrance was now no more than a pile of rubble, leaving a very large hole where it used to be. The Digimon responsible for this hole had already passed through it. The battle was not outside, but in the very, very big entrance hall and a couple of the corridors leading away from it. Astralis was a very big place, which it needed to be, given the size of some Digimon. there wasn't enough space for any real flight, but almost any Digimon would be ableto fit inside without a probelm. Garudamon landed outside the entry hole. She put Kiva, Maelen, and Hawkmon on the ground, then entered the castle. Kiva triggered Hawkmon's digivolution to Machinedramon, and the two of them entered with Maelen. The batle was already underway. The attackers would undoubtably have little trouble taking the entry area, but the rest of the attack wouldn't be so easy. But Kiva didn't like easy. She found it boring. Fortunately for her, this would be far from easy. It would be hard, and the attackers might lose. But win or lose, she knew that it would be one hell of a battle. --------------------------------------------------- OOC: Defenders (that's all you 'bad' players at Astralis), you're in the castle fighting the attackers. I don't thin any of you with 'good' characters are currently participating in the attack, but you still can if you want to. Your character just arrives late ('bad' players can arrive late too, if you want them to). Now, please don't have the attackers get their asses kicked, please. They're a well-prepared force, and have a good chance for a succssful attack. Also, please don't bring Armageddemon into this. I'll introduce him at the proper time. All right, the battle's on! Frankie
OOC: My computer finally let me back on here... i dont get what its problem was. ------------------- Rain felt rested but kept hereyes close. I would just like to get their." He smiled weekly, and looked back to Devidramon. "I hope your... friend... doesn't mind the extra load." After all, Amon and Rain seemed to be getting along just fine. "Oh he wont mind. Will you Devidramon?" Rain looked back to Devidramon, with a smirk. He looked away, scowling. "No, he won't mind. Hop on." At this she got back on to Devidramon's back, and laid her head back down, still being tired. Amon let out a small sigh, and walked over to Devidramon. Cautious a bit at first, but he eventualy just decided to go with the plan, and hop on. Frankie
Rain, Amon, Lopmon, Candlemon and Devidramon flew toward Astralis. After a few minutes they saw an explosion and many digimon and humans enter. Rain growled to herself... It would be difficult to sneak in undetected and actually get ahead of them to slow them down but she figured , being a shadow dragon evil digimon that he was, Devidramon would know what to do. Once they got there Devidramon quickly got into the shadows of the castle. There was a Machinedramon and a Garudamon near the entrance. Devidramon looked around and seemed to be going a different way then the main entrance which was now just a rather large hole. "Disrespectful fools. Busting down Master Armageddemon's door like that." Devidramon quietly hissed. He was over the aggrivation of having another person on his head but didnt seem to happy about the attackers. Rain noticed there always seemed to be something he wasnt to pleased about. He snuck around a wall quickly for his large size and found a small brick that even Rain thought was tiny. He pushed it and a strange mark appeared on the wall. He placed a large claw on it and it began to glow dark red. A shadow covered the section of the wall large enough to let him fit through. GuyYouMetOnline
OOC: That's fine, Frankie. -------------------------------------------------------------- HerculeseKabuterimon's force had been the first to Astralis. They'd busted the door down and entered. The faster Digimon from Maelen's force, mainly flyers, arrived next. Kiva' come it with that wave on Garudamon, and Maelen herself had hitched a ride. And now, the rest of the force was arriving. These were land-based Digimon who hadn't been able to keep up with the flyers. They hadn't arrived as quuickly as the flyers, but they were there now. With everyone in Astralis, the attackers advanced into the depths of the castle. The force did, of course, seperate and advance down multiple corridors, but there were enough connecting paths that no one group was ever cut off from the rest of the force. The attackers did meet with some resistance, especially in the larger rooms. The defends were mainly wild Digimon living in the castle, though there were some human players defending as well. Eventually, Maelen and HerculeseKabuterimon led a branch of the attack force into the largest chamber yet. It was circular, and much of it was filled with water. There was a very wide path around the edge of the room, large enough that the largest Digimon could easily fit on it. It circled the entire chamber except for a wide gap that allowed for a water passage out of the room. On either side of the gap, at the places where the dry path ended, two corridors extended parallel to the water one. "This place looks like the biggest toilet in the universe," Kiva remarked. Maelen laughed. "It does sort of remind you of a toilet, doesn't it? Well, we should check it out, anyways. Hey, David, over here!" The boy David approached Maelen, his partner following behind him. Said partner was currently in his mega-level form of MarineAngemon. "Yes? What is it?" "Have MarineAngemon check the water," Maelen told David. "He's probably strong enough to handle anything that's in there, or at least to survive long enough to get out of the water and away from anything he can't handle." David nodded and told MarineAngemon to do it. About ten seconds after the little Digimon entered the watter, he came zooming back out. Two MetalSeadramon surfaced behind him and were instantly hammered with ranged attacks from the Digimon on the dry path. They didn't last long. "They came up from below," MarineAngemon explained. "Both of them did. That's no small pool of water. It's deep, and I could see several corridors down there. It looks like a good portion of this castle is underwater. I don't know how many Digimon are down there, but it's sure to be a lot." "Certainly," Maelen replied. "Well, I think it'd be a bad idea to send anyone down there. Only certain Digimon could go, and they'd be completely cut off from the rest of us." Just then, multiple Digimon surfaced in the water. At the same time, land Digimon came out of the two dry corridors flanking the water one. The chamber, which had been calm until a moment ago, was now a battleground. Water Digimon jumped into the water and ingaged the swimming enemies while the other Digimon focused on the land ones. was quick to notice something odd. There was an Angemon in the chamber, but he wasn't attacking the Astralis defenders as would be expected. Instead, he seemed to be on their side. He was fighting for the evid Digimon in Astralis, not against them. The only possible explination was that this Angemon was a human's partner. No wild or even befriended Angemon would ever fight on the side of evil Digimon. Kiva had to admire the person whose partner that Angemon was. The attackers would naturally assume that an Angemon was on their side. This particular Angemon was using that to his advantage. Obviously, the defenders knew that the Angemon was on their side, or else they too would assume that he was with the attackers. "That Angemon's with the enemy," Kiva told Maelen. "Are there any on our side in this battle?" "Not that I know of," Maelen replied. "Good. Tell people that there's an Angemon with the enemy." Maelen nodded and began passing the word. Kiva started trying to find the human whose partner the Angemon was. She saw a female shouting something to it, and guessed that the Angemon was her partner. Then the woman turned and Kiva got a clear view of her for an instant before she retreated back into the corridor from which she'd emerged. Kiva was able to identify the woman, and then she knew that she was right about the Angemon being her partner. It fit perfectly with the woman's style, especially if she was hpeing that a certain other player would show up. "Garudamon! Machinedramon!" Kiva called to her Digimon. "I need a path to that corridor!" Kiva located and picked up a piece of debris knocked off the wall that made a decent weapon. As her Digimon cleared a path for her, she ran through it. Time to go hunting. ---------------------------------------------------- OOC: Note that anyone arriving late does not know that the Angemon is with the evil Digimon defending Astralis. They're likely to assume that he's with the attackers. Oh, and don't kill the Angemon, please.
Veritas
OOC: Ok, lets just assume that Marquis logged off after defeating harmony. Marquis streched his arms as he reclined in his chair. His eyes wandered back and forth from the soft glow of his computer screen, to the glowing numbers on his digital clock, 6:33. Marquis technically was off work, though he was putting in some overtime. Currently they were trying to develop a personal VR unit, though the project had been having many complications, mainly dealing with operator safety. Most house hold didn't have a back up generator, and even though black outs are a rare event, it would be to risky. The design team Marquis was on were trying to impliment a back up powerpack and program, that would withdraw the operaters conscious from the simulation in an emergency situation. Marquis was trying to finish the specs so a prototype could be built and go into testing. Slowly Marquis clicked the mouse before typing in a file name, saving the schematics. The buildings resembled that of pueblos, being made out of the same red rock and sand the desert got its name from. Requiem slowly made his way through the down, the majority of the inhabitants inside, avoiding the burning sun. Though the digimon that did walk the streets avoided Requiem, not daring to look up at the human player. Req was used to this, it was rather common from those that knew who he was. He continued walking till he reached a restraunt in the middle of the town. He entered into the artificial shade and looked around the room seeing many digimon quickly look up, but revert their eyes just a fast. His digimon, were seated at he bar in conversation, the hadn't even noticed Requiem. "Hey what's all the chatter for" He said, drawing his three digimons attention. "We were wondering were the hell you were, your late" Lucemon said standing up. "Something came up, now what's going on?" Req asked as they walked outside. "Some people are attacking Astralis, though there are some dark aligned players defending it." Impmon informed the human. "I see, I really hate uninvited guests, lets go teach them some manners, Impmon digivolve!" He laughed as his partner was engulfed in light, before standing in his most powerful form. "Lets go" Beezlemon said letting out a wistle summoning his motorcycle Behemoth. Req jumped on behind his partner, as Lucemon grabbed Pumpkinmon and took to the skies. Astralis was more or less the dark capital of the digital world. A place were darkness consumes light, exactally what Requiem had in mind. OOC I hope that is ok Takuya. Circ
The fruit broke from the branch with a light snap when Eiffel plucked it. It looked like a small hemispheric watermelon, but in shades of red instead on green. Eiffel threw the fruit down at Gabumon, who caught it carefully, wary of it exploding in his hands like the previous one. It gave an appetizing smell, but Gabumon restrained himself, knowing that Guilmon would not appreciate his starting on the food. Eiffel looked around for anything interesting. Better take advantage of the privileged observation spot, he figured. The man grabbed the branch over his head and heaved himself up onto it. He was surrounded with the greenish glow of light shining through leaves. Looking down, he could spot the typical bluish hues of the game's grapevine, a strongly recommended delicacy. "Over there!" he pointed to his partner. Gabumon left the fruits in a heap and moved over toward the patch of appetizing fruits. Eiffel moved above him, walking along the branches of the massive trees. The whole area seemed to freeze the most ancient forests of the real world in a state they would never regain again. Many people actually came to Digimon just to find this peace that seemed absent from their life. Is that what I once looked for too? Eiffel pondered. He was shocked out of his reflections when a trail of shuffling streaked across the grapevine patch straight at his partner. Gabumon froze an instant. He could hear it, but he couldn't know where the sound came from exactly. "Watch out!" Eiffel warned. Gabumon didn't way for his order and threw himself to the side. Something orange flew out of the undergrowth. It spun madly in mid-air like a lost saw blade and barely missed the reptile. It stopped spinning long enough to land safely. As it did so, Eiffel could see that the creature was an stout four-legged mammal. It's belly and legs were covered in short yellowish fur while longer orange hair adorned his bad, from which 4 blades of decreasing lengths jutted. The legs ended in webbed and clawed paws. A Gizamon. Eiffel had rarely seen similar creatures before, mostly out of the fact he did not usually adventure at sea. "You cannot touch these! They are Lord Flymon's!" he tried to ward the other rookie off. Gabumon stood up. And glared at him. "What's that all about? When did wild plants become his property?" he angrily retorted. That didn't deter the aquatic digimon. "They always were!" "Oh for the love of the digital gods, that is ridiculous!" While the two digimon argued, Eiffel continued his progression until he sat straight over them. He did not feel the need to make his presence know, being confident that his partner could handle the situation all by himself. Gabumon eventually gave up and just picked up a bunch of the multicolored fruits. The response was immediate. "Spiral Saw!" The other rookie launched itself at Gabumon, curling into a deadly blade. Gabumon was prepared for this, however. He swiftly dodged the attacker and counterattacked. "Blue Blaster!" The ionized energy slammed into the side of Gizamon. The attack altered its course and the digimon slammed head-first into a tree before slumping to the ground. Eiffel slipped off the branch and landed next to his partner. "Why didn't you do anything?" Gabumon asked him reproachfully. "You looked like you did very well on your own," the man answered calmly. He crouched to collect an harmful of fruit, slipping a few in his mouth and savoring the sweet, yet acid taste. "You know, there are women who would kill for something like that if it didn't make you fat." He chuckled at his partner's confounded look. ============================================== When they finally made it back to where they had left Guilmon, the large rookie had started a fire, collected a massive pile of firewood and was munching on an edible tubercle. He looked up at them with his brows knitted, as much as he could, considering his hairless anatomy. "There you are!" Gabumon and Eiffel sweatdropped and dropped the fruits next to the fire. "Sorry about that. We had an... unexpected encounter." ============================================== As promised. Come on, guys, we can't let this RP die!
