Guest kuroinuyoukai
What is your biggest peeve? It can be with anything. Please be specific as we want to be good little children and obey the rules. my biggest pet peeve is I guess when someone promises you one thing and does another. Like when I came to college-all these people begged for my email and I gave it to them. Now none of them ever email me! Why did they even ask me for it!?! Men that play games too. Come on now doesn't every girl hate players? Also people that think that because I am a American, I like and know everything the government's doing!! Gigantic thanks to Shy for fixing my big booboo! IceRose
My biggest pet peeve is people calling me Gabby even when I tell them not to. I really hate my name its worse when people call them in nicknames, I rather go by my middle name Alexandra

Shy
Typos, most likely.[/color']
I second that. Typos in headlines or titles, especially. I remember one RPG which was titled "Angles and Devils" or something ridiculous like that. The typo was so annoying to me that I made a banner about it, featuring images of devils and several different types of angles: obstude, acute and right. Oh, those were the days. -Shy
Stark
I'm a bit of a grammar nazi myself--and I hate it when people have illegible handwriting! I admit, my grammar and handwriting aren't perfect, but when I spot an error it just bothers me. *shakes head* Please don't get me started on this. Sinistra
One of my biggest pet peeves (and I'm not pointing fingers at anyone) is trying to read what someone has typed and I cannot read it for the life of me. It doesn't happen that often here, which I am very thankful for but here's an example. Liek OMG! lol...LMFAO...Wot r u doin? (Etc.) you get my point. It is something I cannot stand! Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. My biggest pet peeve has to be grammar and spelling, whether it has to do when people use either "Txt" language on mobile phones or using "l33t" speak on the Internet, or just plain bad spelling and grammar in a normal post. I mean most people have access to some form of spellchecker so there should be no reason to have to translate what someone is saying unless they're being really half-assed and want to annoy people. Aside from spelling and grammar, I suppose my other pet peeve would be when other people use untold number of smilies in their posts, I don't mind one, but when people start substituting parts of sentences for them it's time for action. stardust
Definately when I'm at school walking down the hall and people just take their good ol' time walking down the hall, catch up with some old friends, make out...yeah...I hate it... Semjaza
Man, too many people who are annoyed by strictly internet occurances. The internet is stupid in general, so take it in stride, I guess. I, for one, can't stand cell phones... particularly rude usage of them. Actually, I can't stand rude people in general. I might not be the nicest person on the internet, but in person I'm rather polite. I don't think it's that hard to accomplish.

Smilies are taboo in a sense. They're there for anyone and everyone to use, and yet if you do take advantage of this opportunity, you are viewed in a condescending manner, or rather, I view you in a condescending manner. The same idea applies to leet speak as Gavin mentioned (not in the same meaning as I did). Surreal, decadent, pummel, and loathe are the top four words that I, well, loathe. Outlaw
Personally, I don't mind the occational typo, aslong as the meaning behind it can still be found. Hell, if there were no typos, Jay Leno would have one less sketch every week (for those of you who don't know, Leno has a bit he does every week called headlines, were he presents a serious of typo filled or just plain wacky advetrisements and articles). Personally, my biggest pet peeve, at least while writting (it just wrote a term paper in which this situation came up a lot, so it's fresh in my mind), is when I am writing about a single person of undistinguished gender. You see, while writing about this hypathetical person, I need to replace there non-existant name with a pronoun, such as he, she, or it. But in this case, none of these can be used. Using he or she would denounce the opposing gender, using it would denounce the figure's humanity altogether, and using he/she would just be bad writing. Now, I know that in these cases it is best to find an alternative, such as making the example about a group, so you can use the gender objective pronoun they, but I always find myself starting down the road of using the single uni-sex example. Then have to either go back and change it to encorperate they or give the example a gender, which causes this situation to be my Pet Peeve.
Lord Rannos
Mine is obviously less common than I thought. More than replacing words with letters, worse than 1337, is the stupidity Apple is responsible for. They sell the ipod, and their advertisement is: "Holds 1000 songs!" or whatever the number is. And now there are people who say stuff like, "My ipod can hold 4000 songs!" NO. IT CAN'T. Memory is not measured in songs, dammit! GIGABYTES! IT'S MEASURED IN GIG! So stop measuring yout mp3 player's memory in songs. Wow, that was a serious rant that I never meant to have happen. Wacky. Edit: In retrospect, I apologize if this offended anyone. I realize listing the memory in song count is so people can get a relative idea of how many songs their mp3 player can hold. It just annoys me. renayiiq
*sighs* When people call me Victoria, or automatically assume that because I prefer to be called Vicki, that it's okay to come up and say, "Hey, Vik!" Uhm, no. And I really hate when people do this: Vicky, Vikki, Viki, Vickie, Vikie, Vikky, etc. Or this: Clackett, Claget, Clagett, Clagget, Claggette, Clagette, Claggete, Claggnet, etc. It's Claggett and not another word on it. (No misspelling of my first name or last name, and no assuming nicknames of your own for me. only really good friends can do that, not people that I barely meet or have a "hi" "bye" relationship with. And people calling me by my full first name.) I really hate this: "Wake up." "But I'm almost asleep." "You're not taking a nap in the *********n daytime! That's what night's for!" *Vicki sparks up cig* (Being woken up in the day when I was barely getting to sleep, and told that just because it's still light outside, I can't sleep.) This: "Hey, Vicki, can I bum?" "Me too?" "Please?" "Me, too?" "FINE. NOW NO MORE. GRRRR." (I don't like a million people assuming that I bought my pack of cigarettes to share with the world.) "Ew, that's disgusting! Why would you get pierced THERE?!" (remarks about my piercing telling me how disgusting they think it is or that I should take it out. Don't these people think that I might have heard this enough? Sometimes, you really should hold your tongue. Seriously. And not just because I don't like opinions, really, but because it's been very redundant. I get it so much, I could puke.) "Somebody smells like smoke *looking at Vicki*" Duh, I smoke, and everyone knows it. I don't think anyone should care anymore, but a few people feel the need to repeat it every time I come to class. Alot of people smoke. Big whoop. Those are just some of my pet peeves. Oh, and I HATE being tickled. I'll hit you if you tickle me; I'll kick, punk, slap, scratch, bite, etc. I'm mean. This is it for this one.
DBZgirl88
I'll admit I'm a rather thrifty shopper. And one thing that really "grinds my gears", is being ripped off. I really hate it how movie theaters don't let you bring your own food in, and then charge ridculously high prices for their own food. I refuse to pay $9 for a bag of popcorn. I can of course survive a movie without eating, but it still really ticks me off how people can be so greedy. They make enough profit as it is.

liamc2
Oh Salty Bob, you so dry I work in a newsagency in the inner city, near a minor bus terminal on a main street. It's effectively an island, because of the mall behind it and the major thoroughfares that surround it. My point? We get lots of customers. It's generally an ebbing and flowing environment, with periods of nothing and periods of intense amounts of people. My personal pet peeve is when some...customer...rushes up demanding in a million-miles-per-hour-you're-not-worth-my-time voice, of all things, gum. I kid you not. Apparently it's worth risking missing your bus for a pack of gum. Then they have the nerve to get impatient when they're at the end of a line, with three people frantically serving. I mean, it's only gum for heaven's sake. It's no reason to swear and give me a dirty look when your bus drives off. Honestly, some people can be rather stupid. There is a lot more, generally customer related [all the other stuff has been mentioned already..], but I'm not going to burden you with it. Consider yourself spared. Also, fear the wrath of casual staff who can [and will ] give you your change in 20 cent pieces if you're a complete and utter prat. lol.
James
Bravo. I was going to say the exact thing.
While I don't know how an entire nationality of people can be considered a pet peeve, I'm glad that you at least expressed your view using more than one word. I pretty much agree with what some have said here in terms of some basic things, like rudeness (rude use of mobile phones is very frustrating in particular). I remember being in a lecture last year where two girls in the back row were talking and giggling between themselves. They had to be asked twice to quiet down by the lecturer. I just found that to be incredibly rude and insulting. The fees at that school cost a fortune and here they are, chatting about who they think is hot or something stupid like that. If they didn't want to be in the lecture, they shouldn't have turned up at all, rather than turning up and wasting everyone else's time. That annoyed me. Another pet peeve would have to be overreactions to minor inconveniences. I really hate it when someone abuses a storeperson for something that is clearly beyond that person's control. For example, if a store is out of stock on a product or something, it's ridiculous to stand there and insult the person who is serving you - it has nothing to do with them and it's not their fault. More importantly, abusing people won't help the situation, it'll only make things worse. I really, really dislike it when people get abusive and nasty over that type of thing. Life is too short to have heart attacks over getting meal delivered a little late or something like that.
wayofthreversed
Alarm clocks are my pet peeve. I know I know that is kind of stupid but when you here that annoying buzz in the morning  . 2010DigitalBoy
Lack of common sense and lack of reasoning also annoy me. I also hate when people don't say please and thank you. I know, I'm a nerd, but still for the love of god people show some respect! :animesigh Also, I hate being ignored. Yeah, petty, I know, but like when I write poetry or a part of a novel and I try to get an opinion I usually post them on a few message boards, show them to my fiends and family and put them on fictionpress.com and not a single person gives me a real reply! I can't stand when someone spends all that time reading something I wrote only to say "thats good" or just not comment. I wrote it, you read it, now tell me what I need to do! "How am I supposed to be inspired to write more if I don't know if I'm doing good? ^sorry, bit of a rant. Shinmaru
I don't know that it's my biggest pet peeve, but I get annoyed when people spell my name wrong. I don't even have a difficult name to spell: Michael. Easy. Simple. One of the most common names you'll find. Yet, nobody spells it right! I always get stuck with "Micheal". What kind of dork spells his name like that? And the rest of us who spell our name the right way have to suffer because of those douchebags' parents. Thanks a lot for giving your kid a stupid name. I really appreciate it. Jerks.
