If you were a character in a fighting game then what fighting style would you use?

Alright, I know this is a really N00B-ish topic title (I accept it if Shinmaru closes it) but it is a bit more complicated than that. The full title is 'If you were a character in a fighting game then what fighting style and tactics would you use and why? What standout moves would you use?' and it can actually reveal a lot about fighting styles that people use on games.

Would your character use a style that is focused on blocking or Reversing attacks or would you go all out? If in a weapon based fighter than how would you fight and what would weapon would you use? What key attacks could you use during battle to swing the battle in your direction?
Initially could everyone please keep it to the three categories that I have used; Fast paced brawler, Slow paced Fighter and Weapon based fighter.

For me it depends on the game which is in question,
In a fast paced Brawler like Tekken I would go for a speedier style like Jeet-Kune-Do or Shoot fighting opposed to a style that packs a lot of power behind its attacks. My tactics would be of an all out offense with little to no blocking because, since Brawlers rely more on Button Mashing, I would require little to no skill. Some key moves would be long kicking combos for Jeet-Kune-Do while Shoot Fighting would contain chained throws and the like.

In a slower paced Fighter such as Virtua Fighter, I would use a more Reversal or Blocking style since the better players will not just use an offense which leaves you open. The tactic is self explanitory, keep on blocking and countering until you find an opening. Key moves would include chain counter moves and high impact throws.

In a weapon based fighter like Soul Calibur then I would use two smallish weapons (Preferably Knives, Tonfa or Short Swords) for speed as opposed to power.The tactic that would have to be employed would be of a hit and run style against a larger foe and of a countering style against a speedier fighter. I would guess that Key moves could include quick one,two attacks and fast combos.

[size=1][color=darkred]Lets see, For a Brawler type game as you put it I would definately use something like Jeet-Kun-Do, or the hand to hand style of the Shinobi, Tai-Jutsu I believe it's called. But I really value speed in most things, I find it very usefull. Also styles like Jeet-Kun-Do and Taijutsu really involve using your opponents momentum against them. It is very fluid and basically an offensive defense. Also Eddie's style in Tekken comes to mind lol.[/color][/size]

[size=1][color=darkred]For weapon based fighters I find it the hardest to choose. In Soul Caliber I like Nightmare alot because of his brute strength, also he seems to boister decent speed. I really do like most of the sworded charcters, particularly the Fencer and the Katana. I think most sworded styles are well balanced and easy to use. I also really like Volvo's unpredictable style, even though it is rather hard to fully utilize at first. It is unpredictable, fluid and fast. Cervantes dual sword style is good as well, they all seem fairly well balanced in my eyes.[/color][/size]

Ummm, No. You have to be more specific with an answer to questions like this. No character can master all styles of Martial Arts (Not even Jacky Chan or Bruce Lee) and I kind of find the ability to use Light Magic weird since I never stated that the fighters would be over the top.

Hmm, I guess it would be Tae Kwon do, and a mixture, of Hikari Okinawan( Heaven Light Bo'staff style). And if that did not suffice I wouldl try Jujitsu with a tonfa mixture using the balance of jujitsu and the power of the tonfas to create a balanced defense with throws and a hard attack with Ryu min ziguchi Tonfa style.

I think honestly if I were a character in a fighting game I'd wonder why I couldn't control my body and why I'm consistently having to fight other people for very little reason. Seeing as how I normally play as fighters that are slow but very powerful once you get them going, such as Tekken's Paul Phoenix, that'd probably be the way I'd go seeing as how I have an immense dislike for those quick fighters who you just can't get in close enough to give them a good beating. I'm not sure what martial arts I'd need in such a case though I'd say some form of Karate would be suitable. I know it?s going to sound a little basic, but with a heavy fisted fighter, in terms of tactics all you want to do is black/absorb enough attacks to get your enemy in close and give him a good working over thanks to your superior strength.

In terms of a character who'd use a weapon, well I?ve never trained to use a weapon nor even had the desire to do so, so I?m not at all sure what kind of character I?d be, though having played and beaten multiple Star Wars games I must admit I?d be very inclined to use a lightsaber if possible. Now I?m not saying that because the lightsaber is exceptionally deadly as a weapon due to it?s cutting power and speed, but it is a very graceful and yet powerful weapon when used. Being knowledgeable on the different forms of lightsaber combat, I?d be tempted to use either the [url=http://starwars.wikicities.com/wiki/Form_II:_Makashi][B]Makashi[/B][/url] or [url=http://starwars.wikicities.com/wiki/Form_III:_Soresu][b]Soresu[/b][/url] forms, Makashi because of the elegant power it exudes and Soresu because it?s defensive power and the philosophy behind it. [color=darkred]For my hand to hand combat dude, I'd be a reversal-type character, but I wouldn't rely heavily on the reversals, so I'd have loads of pokey moves like Lee in Tekken 4. Not damaging, but very, very frustrating for the receiving side. One thing for sure though, I'd have Scorpion's stance from Mortal Kombat.

On the cheap side of things, I'd be someone like Ogre in Tekken Tag; have loads of stolen, cool looking, over-powered moves, and some good agility and recovery rates.

In a weapons-fighter I'd be, obviously, a Samurai guy lol, or at least be able to use a Katana. Mitsurugi more or less comes to mind here, because he can use quite a wide variety of moves from different stances. Of course, I wouldn't play cheap and be the ultimate Katana-wielder. I'd take a few moves/stances out, and just improve and touch upon what I already know to make the difference.[/color] :)
