RPG Chaos Eaters: The Evolution [M-LVS]

[COLOR=Indigo]Kei was walking towards the front entrance when a voice called out.

?[B]Kei Wilder![/B]?

He froze.[I] Damn![/I] He thought. He turned around. Sure enough it was the annoying teacher from earlier. The teacher marched right up to him until they were nearly touching.

?You failed to talk to me after class and you deliberately ignored me earlier.? The teacher handed him a slip of paper. ?You are to report to detention young man and I?ll be checking tomorrow to make sure you attended, so get going. The class number is on the paper I gave you.? The teacher turned and left.

Kei swore under his breath. He looked at the paper and turned around and started to look for the classroom for detention.

?Hey Kei!?

Exasperated he turned to see who was calling him this time. It was one of the girls from class. She was wearing what appeared to be some type of uniform. He didn?t know what for though as it was different than any of the uniforms used at home.

?That?s your name right?? She asked.

Kei nodded and rolled his eyes a bit.

She just smiled and said. ?Of course you are. Because you?re so excited to be here!?

Kei raised an eyebrow at that statement.

She just smiled again and said. ?Sorry, I have a long memory. Where are you heading??

Kei considered for a moment and answered. ?Detention.?

The girl frowned slightly and then said. ?Let me guess, the teacher felt you weren?t as excited as you claimed earlier.?

?Naturally,? Kei said. ?Though the fact that we were being treated like children didn?t matter.? He sighed. She seemed sincere enough.

?I wasn?t paying attention earlier so I didn?t catch your name.?

?I?m Heart Kelyn.? She said with a smile extending her hand to shake his.

Kei took her extended hand and was surprised by her firm handshake. [I]Well, she?s definitely not timid.[/I] He thought.

?Pleased to meet you.? He said with a slight bow.

?Perhaps we could talk later, but right now I have to get to the detention class or I?ll never hear the end of it from my parents. Do you know where this classroom is?? He handed her the paper the teacher gave him and waited for a reply.[/COLOR]

[color=#DF2020][FONT=Century Gothic]Lilith went to the top of the roof top of the school dragging her bookbag. She was completly tired. Her head down, shoulder slouched dragging her feet. Her face was darken and had heavy bags under her eyes. Lilith layed on the roof top resting her head on her bookbag.
"The only time i have to sleep.." Lilith yawned "hope...no..is..here.." Lilith turned on her cd player and put on her headphones. She put on heavy metal music drowining out her thoughts. In a few minutes she was in deep sleep. Not be able to be awake for hours on end.[/FONT][/COLOR]

[Apherion]

"You lucky," she said as her eyes scanned the D-Hall paper. "It says you've got Mrs. Ruckman. She's one teacher that gives blow-off class a new meaning. She's never really in the room, and when she is, she's too busy talking on the phone to notice if you're handing her a detention slip paper or a test, she'll sign off on it and let you be on your way. Typically, you're in there about five minutes tops." She said before she stopped at the end of the hall.

"I figure you don't need me to take you there so I'll give you the quick directions. Take a right here, keep going down that hall until you see room 421, it should be on the left-hand side, go in. Walk straight in front of you, open the door at the end of the room and turn left. Keep going until you see room 290, right-hand side, that's the room you want." She smiled, and turned around.

"You should come to the volleyball game after you get done 'surving time' in D-Hall. We're playing against South Side, our rivals. I'm sure you'd love to watch us nail'em." She winked and gave him a thumb's up. "Hope to see you there!" She said, turning around she walked back toward the gym. She was going to be practing until the game started.

[Darth Vectis]

[COLOR=DarkGreen][SIZE=1]Brady groaned as him and Scott approcahed the two students, he whispered to Scott as they walked.

"Do we have to talk to them?"[/B] Scott jab Brady in his side.
[B]
"Ow, alright we'll talked to these civilians. I hate you plow boy."[/B] Scott looked at him with an eyebrow rasied, Brady smircked and they turned their attention back to the students. Scott greeted them.

"Hello, what are you guys doing here after school?"[/B]
[B]
"Detention."[/B] Chase replied.
[B]
"What are you guys doing here?"[/B] Scott began to panic trying to think of something to say, Brady jabbed him in the side.
[B]
"Were here for the volleyball game."[/B] Ross looked at them suspisiouslly
[B]
"Your here early then."[/B] She responded, Scott spoke quickly.
[B]
"We wanted to get good seats."[/B] Ross looked at them again, Scott was getting nervous and Ross's stare was starting to unnerve Brady.
[B]
"Well I think you should go to detention and we'll be off to the game. See ya."[/B] Brady said as he hussled Scott back the way they came.[/SIZE][/COLOR]

[color=#DF2020][FONT=Century Gothic]Lilith woke up to a dark sky. She rose up and looked around. Where was she? Oh yes, the roof top. She looked at her watch and forgot it was broken. She shook it "Crap...need to get a new watch. Why time is i?t have to get home and make dinner.."
Lilith got up and picked up her bookbag. She opened the roof top door only to find it closed. Lilith tried again to open it. Nope still closed. Lilith stepped back and kicked the door open. The door fell and tumbled down the stairs.
"Oops.." Lilith scratched her head "Now they think I'm a burgular or worse..." Lilith try to sneek down stairs quietly hoping that the staff would not see her or the people playing that stupid volleyball game. It was dark and hopefully she would be able to sneek around the shadows. [/FONT] [/COLOR]

[COLOR=Indigo]Kei followed Heart?s instructions and true to what she said the teacher was busy talking with her boyfriend on the phone. She took his detention paper signed it and practically shoved him out the door. It was the first time he had ever seen a teacher behave in such an unprofessional manner. Back home that would have gotten her fired on the spot if she had been discovered by the main faculty doing what she did. Talk about weird.

He left the room and decided it might be interesting to watch the volleyball game after all. Perhaps the uniform Heart had been wearing was for that game. It would certainly give him a valid excuse to not go home. Last thing he wanted was another lecture from his aunt and uncle on how he should feel so[I] privileged [/I]at being allowed to come to their country and attend school. They would probably be pleased that it appeared he was taking an interest in the new school so to speak.

Kei sighed as he headed back towards the gym. Everything was such a headache, being forced to leave his practice blades behind since customs wouldn?t allow a teenager to bring weapons into the country. Being treating like a child by the teachers here. Hell he was probably smarter than most of the teachers as he had attended one of the top schools in the world! The classes had been beyond boring, as other than cultural differences and learning a bit more about the nuances in the language here he already knew what was being taught!

He wasn?t a genius, but part of the requirement to be part of the martial arts team competing for the national championship required that you also have nearly perfect grades! Which meant he would have to do the stupid assignments here or it would reflect bad on his record when he finally returned. But what irritated him the most was the one teacher who tried to make him cut his hair short claiming it didn?t fit school regulations! He had been beyond tempted to send her flying through the school window even though they were on the second floor. She was beyond ignorant and had no idea what an insult her suggestion was!

He had stood his ground as his religion and code of ethics could not accept her demand that he cut his hair, and she had dragged him to the principal?s office in an attempt to get the principal to force him to comply. Fortunately the papers regarding his transfer had specified that his religion and ethics in his country forbid the school from demanding that he cut his hair and the principal refused her demand. But the black look she threw his way made him realize that she was bound to give him grief over anything she possibly could. Talk about childish!

At least the principal had seemed sympathetic and apologized for her rude behavior once she left the room. He had reassured Kei that he would never condone them violating his rights, as he saw no problem with him having such long hair. Kei sighed yet again as he walked down the hallway towards the gym. This was going to be a very long school year.

[Stark]

"Maybe we should split up," Ross suggested to Chase, perfectly calm. "The teacher might get the wrong idea if we go in together, you know?"

A look of apparent disgust crossed Chase's features. That was the only answer Ross needed.

"I know, I'd rather shoot myself too." She shook her head. "But, if we go in separately, she won't get any ideas except that we both just don't like each other or her."

"Sounds good," Chase nodded. "I like that idea better."

"Good. I'll see you in a few minutes then."

With that said Ross took off down the hallway. Her plan was to stop by her locker to drop off her school clothing and pick up her book from earlier. If Clark proved more knowledgeable than usual, she may need something to occupy herself for the next hour.

If she happened to pass Scott and Brady as she headed toward her locker, that was all right. She would just point them in the direction of the gym, which they didn't seem to know since they were on the complete opposite side of the school.

"Heads up!" She called as she saw them, not wanting to barrel anyone over in her heels. It was bad enough just to be wearing them, saying nothing about running in them.

The two of them looked at her, and she waved her greeting. She would speak to them on the next pass if she really wanted to talk. She didn't, however, if it could be avoided. She had enough on her mind, and didn't want to jump to any more conclusions.

They were just a couple of new kids, and she was probably reading into the situation too much. They weren't a part of the CIA or anything, she assured herself. After all, this wasn't a fictional novel.

She felt her foot land wrong on the tile floor, and let out a cry as the cold white tile closed in on her vision.

[Starwind]

Scott heard a cry come from behind, he quickly turned and caught a glance of someone falling. With a quick split jump, he pulled a dagger out of his coat and threw it across the room. He heard the blade hit the dry wall and a grunt. He noticed the person in question was Ross, she was the one who screamed. He walked over to her as she squirmed, her toes just touching the step behind her. He took his place next to her "Did you have a fall?" She just looked at him "Shut up and what the hell happend?" He reached behind her and pulled the blade free and stowed it away quickly, so she wouldn't see it. he smiled as he let her down "Your lucky we were passing by. Otherwise you'd have a broken neck right now." She patted herself off and looked to him "Well, yeah. Thanks for the help." She patted herself off and turned around to leave.

[Deadpool]

Diaga stopped as he heard a loud crash and saw a girl sneaking around in the shadows. "Well if it isn't Lilith" He then froze.

She stopped and looked at him. "What. I am hear for the game"

"Don't move" He reached into his jacket and pulled out his pistol and put a silencer on it and took aim.

"What are you doing?"

Diaga fired , the bullet passed right over her shoudler and a thud was heard aftr ward as a dog sized black and red creature fell next to her with black blood covering the ground. He walked over as she let out a scream and then covered her mouth. "Shhh. You will attract more of them" He pulled out a phone. "Scott, Mine and Mea's area is infected. We will have to began as planned. Inform me if you find anything"

"What is that thing"

"Chaos eater. They are back at the school again and that can't be good. Most likely they are trying to finish what they started." He turend as he heard multiple footsteps. "Looks like some other student's heard your little scream"

Chase walked around the corner and saw the creature on the ground. He looked at the two people and saw that one was Lilith and Diaga.

"Two questions, one, what the hell is that, and two, why are you holding a gun?" Chase said, squinting his eyes at Diaga.

"This is a chaos eather, and I have a gun because I am here to kill them. I need you two to not say a thing about this to noone." Diaga said, looking around to make sure noone else was there. He quickly put his gun back in his jacket.

"Do not say anything, are you crazy? This is freakish." Lilith said, taking a step back from the eater.

"How many more are there? Two, three?" Chase said, bending down to get a better look at the eater.

"You guess is as good as mine. There could be hundreds, even thousands by now." Diaga said, looking around for Mea. "Where did she go?" He started to say her name but Chase stopped him.

"Let me guess, thats another one?" He stood up and pointed to a creature slowly moving twards them. "This is some weird stuff right here man." Chase said as he stepped around the creature.

"I would not do that." Diaga said, taking his gun back out.

"Really, tell me, how strong are these bastards?" Chase said as a smirk formed on his face.

"No one really knows. All we do know is that they go after blood." Diaga said, taking aim.

"Right, well lets make sure they can't get to yours ok?" He started to walk twards the creature, rolling his sleaves up.

[Starwind]

Scotts phone went off and he pulled it out of his pocket. He saw answerd and heard Diaga. He said they saw the first one. Scott turned to Brady, ignoring the fact that Ross was still right there "We have our first sighting. There on the move, stay on your toes." Ross looked to the two of them a little confused "What are you two talking about? Whats on the move?" They both looked to her and nodded to each other "It's better if you don't know or ask. Just stay here and about your business." With that he ran off down the hall, with Brady following closely. As he walked around corner he saw a little eater hanging in the corner. He stopped an pulled his Dagger out and rushed it quickly. It turned and jumped in the air clear of his swing. He quickly brought the dagger up and swung through the air and clipped the bottom of it's feet. As it landed he severd it's spinal cord at the neck with one quick move of his other dagger. The creature hit the ground without a sound, as it's black blood spilled on the floor. He turned to Brady "Call the clean up crew. We'll need to clean this place quick." He looked just passed Brady and saw someone at the end of the hall. He rolled passed Brady and threw his daggers at the figure, nailing to the wall. He walked over to it and saw he had once again effectively nailed ross to the wall.

[Stark]

Ross was scowling at Scott as he ran over, and pulled the daggers out of her shirt. She looked at them for a moment, then looked at Scott.

"What the hell are you trying to do? Kill me?!" She tilted her head to the side, and held the blades by their handles at her side. If anything happened, she was all ready to strike.

Scott exhaled, and glanced to the side. "This is going to be a long story..."

Ross looked at him in silence, then started to examine the blades.They were nice looking things, and would have made any blade collector proud. Even if they were nice, she realized the gravity of it all.

She looked back up at the offender. 'If it's going to be long, then get on with it."

"Why not have a look?" It was Brady, and he gestured for Ross to look down the hallway.

She obeyed, and found herself ignoring the current situation and taking a few steps forward. What ever it was, instinct told her that it wasn't supposed to be there. Or exist. She uttered a curse, and shook her head. Out of all the thoughts that went through her mind, she summed them all up with three words.

"It's...an abomination."

[Starwind]

Scott looked to her "That about sums up these creatures. They are sins against existence." She looked at the creature, fixated on the beast still on the floor. Scott turned to Brady again "We better keep her with us, she's already seen the eaters." Scott walked to her and popped the top of her head to get her attention "I'm going to need you to come with me." She looked to him and nodded.

[COLOR=DarkGreen][SIZE=1]As Ross uttered her three words, Brady saw no reason to hide his weapons any long. He reached into his coat and drew is two blades, he turned them so that the long part of the blade was touching the bottom of his arm and the short end was exposed.

"I wonder if there are anymore."[/B] Brady said, just then they heard a growl and another Eater truged slowly over to the dead one. Licking up the blood, it took it a moment for it to realize they were there. It turned and growled with black blood dripping from its mouth and its fangs. Brady turned his blades back so the long part was sticking out, he turned his head to look at Scott.

"This one's mine."[/B] Brady said as he charged it, the beast made a run for him as well. It lunged at him, Brady dropped to his knees and bent back, sticking one of his blades straight up. Cutting its gut wide open, it fell to the ground and slid towards Ross and Scott, Brady stood up and walked over to the Eater. The red and black monster bleeding out and growling, still trying to hurt them in anyway. Brady stood over the beast, his blade was dripping with the black blood, he shook his head.

"I feel sorry for the human that became this monster."[/B] Brady spun his blade three time then quickly jabbed it through the monsters temple, he drew it back and stepped away from the monster. He wiped the blood from blade and and turned the blades so the long part was hidden once more. He looked at Scott.

"I think we should get the clean up quickly."[/B] Scott nodded his head.[/SIZE][/COLOR]

[COLOR=Indigo]Kei walked into the gym to find that Heart was practicing for the volleyball game. He quietly found a spot to sit and just watched, as he didn?t want to interrupt her training. Once she was done he could ask here where the game was being held.

She continued to practice and when she noticed him sitting there watching she just flashed him a smile and continued what she was doing.

Kei pulled out the cell phone his aunt and uncle had given him and quickly called leaving them a message that he would be at school till later due to the game. He put it away and pulled out his homework. It wouldn?t take him very long to do the assignments given to him.

He quickly finished the assignments, got up and left the gym briefly to put his things away in his locker and then came back and sat back down. He continued to watch Heart, prepare. Kei figured the game would be quite interesting as she was obviously in good shape.[/COLOR]

[color=#DF2020][FONT=Century Gothic]Lilith crouched poked the monster on ther floor " So this thing...is the cause of the disappearances in our school huh?"
"Huh?" Daiga said looking at Lilith
"Well I read the papers..." Lilith cleared her voice and mimic an annocer voice " Another student has disapeared, there are no leads on what, how, or who is making this students disapear. Officers are in intesive investagation..."
"Well the thing your poking is a "it" not a what or who. Well not anymore..." Diaga shook his head
"Well I seen you kill it..your not normal students are you. Don't worry I barely talk to people. I'm..hnn difficult? " Lilith said getting up "What you guys going to do erase my memory?" Lilith holded out her hand like she is holding a pen in her fist.She closed one eye and concetrated on her imaginary pen. She take out her thumb and moves it like she is clicking something.
"Flash!" Lilith sighed and let down her arm.
"Well the girl has a point. This thing is a bit creepy looking.." Chase said kicking it on the side. The choas eater flitched and grabbed his leg.
"Ugh.." Chase shook his leg widly
"His just a nerve reaction. Taking that blow its dead.." Lilith shook her head
"Well i have no choice then.." Diaga scratched his head
"Hnn say that agian?" Lilith looked at him with confusion. [/FONT] [/COLOR]

[Kuroshin13]

[COLOR=DarkSlateBlue]"Just hope that thing didn't break skin just now. Even dead, it can still be infectious." [/COLOR] Mae said to Chase as she came around the nearby corner at the edge of a row of lockers.

[COLOR=DarkSlateBlue]"Where were you?" [/COLOR] Diaga asked.

[COLOR=DarkSlateBlue]"Sorry, I got a bit tied up just after everyone forgot about me." [/COLOR] A flash from a knife reflecting the hallway light was visible for a split second as she put it away. Before looking at the group.[COLOR=DarkSlateBlue]"How much do they need to be filled in?"[/COLOR]

[Deadpool]

Diaga watched Chase walked over to it. Diaga pulled out his gun as it suddenlyjumped off the wall and straight at Chase, but fell as a bullet hit it in the chest. "Actually they are pretty strong." He held out a small book. "Every agent has to carry one. Standard protocol after the first incident here. That one right there would be me, you, and maybe ten more people put together , so don't think about fighting it with your bare hands. That one was sick that was why it didn't see us when it first came out. Most of the time they hid in the shadows and ambush their prey. Normally they arn't alone" He turned as he slowly looked around. "We should move. I suggest if any of you know where some guns or weapons are, then we should go their so ya'll can help me and Mea fight them" Mea turned as five more appeared in the hall.
"More eaters"

[Starwind]

Scott could feel the dark energy tingling down his spine. He looked to Ross then to Brady "Since she's with us we should get out of her for now. She's not properly equipped or trained to handle a fight with one of those things." Brady nodded in response. Scott took Ross' hand and puulled her along "Come on. We need to get you out of here beefore more show up." She shook her hand free "You know I'm not useless. I can help." Scott looked back to her as she held a small knife in her hand and had a pistol tucked in her pocket. Scott sighed "Yes, against any normal target that would be more than enough. Eaters, however, are different. Your weapons aren't meant to fight such monsters and I can't fight them and protect you at teh same time, so we need to get out of here now." He grabbed her hand again and they continued down the hall. As they wrapped the corner for the home stretch, they saw five more eaters standing by the door. Scott braced himself when Brady stepped forward and put his hand in front of Scott "You take the girl out of here, I'll deal with them." He glanced at Scott quickly with a smirk on his face. Scott smirked back and ran off to the right to find a fire escape leaving Brady to deal with the monsters on his own. Ross looked to Scott "Is it okay to just leave him alone?" Scott glanced to her "Don't worry about him, he loves to show sometimes. Remember who we are. We live for this shit." He said as they ran looking for another way out.

[Darth Vectis]

[COLOR=DarkGreen][SIZE=1]Brady had a big grin spread across his face, he tapped the wall with his blade so the Eaters would look at him. He smiled wider, he spun his blades showing off to the eaters.
[B]
"Come on. lets go."[/B] The eaters growled and charged him, Brady charged them back. He jumped over one and stabbed it in the spine with one blade and slashed another across the face. One went down as is slid across the floor, the other smashed into a wall with a huge gash across its whole face. Brady avoid claws swiping at his head.
[B]
"That was close wasn't it."[/B] Now he only had to deal with four more eaters, he quickly attacked the oen that was bleedin with the new gash. He took its head off with one clean blow, another eater jumped him from behind and knocked him over. It then jumped on top of him and growled in his face, it opened its mouth wide to bite down on Brady's face. He took his blade and jammed it starigh through the monsters mouth through its brain, he pulled it out and threw the monster off of him.

"Two more."[/B] Brady took a deep breath as the last two came at him, Brady dodge one eater as it jumped over him. The other one stood up on his hind legs like a bear does, Brady jabbed both blades by its sides and cut inwards. Cutting it in the middle, the top off fell life less to floor as the other half fell the other way.

Brady turned and saw the last eater stand up, Brady stuck his blade through its throat and smiled at the creatuer. It places its clawed hand on Bradys extended arm and gravity did the rest, its claws cut right through his clothes piercing skin. Brady yelped, he pulled his blade out and wiped them clean. He looked at his arm and saw the red and black infection already spreading.

"Son of a bitch."[/B] Brady put one of his blades back and picked up his phone, he dialed up Diaga.
[B]
"Diaga? It's Brady, we have a problem."[/B][/SIZE][/COLOR]

[Stark]

"Hydrochloric Acid."

Scott looked to Ross, as if to question her.

"What?"

Ross sighed, and turned to her classmate. "Hydrochloric Acid. You mentioned clean-up, and I can't imagine anything that it can't dissolve. We can probably find some if we raid the chem. lab." She didn?t want to be thought of as being a part of the shocked stereotype, and to avoid that she thought that she should try to be of use.

"Then again, explain what that thing is and I'll be happy. Or, explain who you guys are. Hunters? You did say that you guys 'live for this stuff'."

She glanced regretfully at her gun--one of the 'twins' she managed to save from her Father's belongings. She had broken school policy to bring that along, and it was a miracle that she wasn't caught. But, since the disappearance of Hillary, a coworker of hers, she had become paranoid about being kidnapped and killed.

Not that she thought that was Hillary's demise. It was just a fact that most young women who are kidnapped, or 'disappear', wind up dead a few miles from their home.

"'Live for this stuff'...That makes me think CIA. I'd like an explanation here."

The idea no longer seemed outlandish. If those two could take down a couple of those creatures in less than a few minutes, then it was obvious they were skilled. She didn?t care what the truth. A mutated, radioactive rabid dog would have been fine for an explanation.

At least, it would have been something.

[Starwind]

Scott looked to her and sighed as he thought to himslef for a minute. She became a little impatient "Well, are you with the CIA or FBI or something else like that?" Scott sighed one more time "First off we're not CIA or any government affiliation; they ask to many questions. We are from a privatly operated organization started just after the end of WW2. During the destruction caused by the Axis, the air filled with hate, sorrow and chaos. Naturally this created teh perfect atmosphere for these monsters to make there first noted appearance. They weak and simple at first, but over time have become stong enough to pose a serious threat. The first team was assembled thirty-eight years ago. Old pros, they were the best and every agent since them has had there training modeled after there example. We are the new generation and we have been assigned to flush out the beasts at this school." She looked to him again "But where did they come from?" He looked at her then looked to the ground then to the ceiling "They come fromt he home of all monsters. Hell. They are demons from the underworld, plain and simple. They spread corruption and feed on chaos. That's why they have been deemed Chaos Eaters." She looked to him, seeming like this was all sinking in slowly. Scott shook trying to snap her out of this funk "Hey, you said something about Hydrochloric acid. Do you know where we can find it and how much to you think we can find." She looked at him "There in the chem lab. at the other end of the school, but I don't know how much there is." Scott sighed again "Well at this point I guess any would be a help. Alright lead the way." She nodded to him and they ran for the chem lab to find the acid. As they ran down the hall they came across yet another eater wandering around, they seemed to be increasing in number. Scott jumped in front of Ross quickly and charged the beast before it had time to react. he pulled his daggers out and split it's head off at the mouth. It was dead instantly and he grabbed her and continued down the hall.

Heart wiped her brow and set down the abused volleyball. She had put it through its paces for a good twenty minutes. It was tight and well-aired, but by now it was becoming flat. Grabbing her drink, she tisted the cap, and took a slow-but deep-sip. She put that on the floor by her overworked volleyball.

"Hey...Kei," she called, waving and smiling. She was intent on the win tonight; sweat drenched her hair. The other V-ball team entered, talking it up. A couple in their uniforms, some yet to change. She picked up her drink and walked softly over to Kei. She sat down on one of the chairs set out for the volleyball players and coaches. The girls without their uniforms went into the locker while the few dressed-out stayed behind, laughing and chatting softly.

"Adrenaline is the on thing I trully run on." She grinned, blinking calmly. She took off the cap and drank. Setting the cool bottle on her right thigh, she sigh lightly. The near silence of the gym was cut short by a chilling screech. Heart jumped up, spilling the gatorade on the gym floor, but she ignored it.

"What was that?" She asked at Kei.

"Hey...could we rest a minute?" It was Ross, her words coming out from between gasping breaths from the run. She stopped without waiting for an answer, and in irritation kicked off her heels.

She was by no means an athlete. At best, she was very flexible and a sprinter. But running around the school at top speed was enough to wear her down.

Before she knew it, Scott was standing before her. "Strange. Seeing you run to class earlier, I thought you'd be able to handle this."

Ross held up her hand, she shook her head. "100 meter dash? Yes. Mile run? No."

She took a few deep breaths, and contemplated what Scott had told her earlier. Chaos Eaters...odd name. But it fit, adequately describing a creature that was born of the chaos of World War II, and now chose to reside in the chaos of the hormone filled, wildly emotional population of a public high school.

"Hydrochloric Acid." She said as she got her wind back. "Nasty stuff. It's a strong acid. Highly corrosive. It's also partly responsible for the nasty effects of Mustard Gas. Put it in damp conditions, and it'll devolve into Hydrochloric Acid. The soldiers in the area would breath it in, and it would ruin the pulminary cavities in their lungs. Blood would rush in, and they would literally drown to death."

"I guess we'll have to be careful then." Scott intoned. "You ready now?"

Ross nodded. "Yeah. And if it works, that'll be great. I just have the sneaking suspicion that the door to the Chem. Lab will be locked, so we may have to go through a window."

"Anything's fine, as long as we get some."

Ross smiled. "Oh we'll get some. Don't worry about that." She slipped her shoes back on--the sneakers from her bag, not the heels from hell--and gestured for Scott to follow. She walked swiftly down the hall, with prupose.

She wasn't quite ready to run again. But she would if it became necessary.

Chase smiled as he got next to Diaga, "You want guns? Well we need to get across the street. I live in the complex over there and my gun safe is in my room. I have about seven or eight guns that could be of help, and about ten others that would be pointless to use in this area." He looked around and smiled agian.

"Good, whats the quickest way over there?" Diaga asked, gun ready to fire if need be.

"Well, that way." Chase said pointing to the door behind the eathers.

"Well, I guess we should get over there soon wouldn't you say Diaga?" Mae said, looking at the eaters.

"Diaga, give me your backup gun. I know you have one, all military is required to carry one." Chase said as Diaga gave him the pistol.

"Just make sure I get it back in one peace." Diaga smiled as he fired the first round.
