really all i do is draw manga and anime. i was up all lastnight drawing only to hear how good she is and how i should give up.but ive never had another dream in my life. i was really upset so i drew threw math class and when the teacher noticed i was depressed sent me to the counceler

i deny i want to get into the bussness to evryone other than my close friends and people who i will probably never meat(you).and of cource i dont tell adults because i dont want to get shut down. drawing is my only thing im good at i have a tutor who works for wizards of the coast(magic cards).

so heres my question im so in love with anime and manga i understand the busness is flooded but should i give up? cuz i really dont want to

Dude, okay, if a person is told that is better than you it doesn't matter as long as you have the passion and drive for what you love just be yourself, you don't have to be outstanding or compete with a person just because others tell you to do. Your art is good, is anime and is what you love, you should not be let down by what others say. Instead praise the other artist and try to model her not try to outstand a person. Every time there is competition one person gets hurt. I don't think you should give up at all. I think you should keep on going ad going until you reach your goal, that is the meaning of life, doing what we love the most and enjoying every single part of it.

Dude, NEVER give up on your dream. Even if it's something stupid, like wanting to be a rockstar or a celebrity, NEVER, EVER give up. It'll be the dumbest thing that you'll ever do. My mom wanted to go into the Navy. She never did. She really regrets it, and she gave up. Don't give up. You'll end up doing something else, and you probably won't enjoy it as much. Although, I must say, if you want to go into anything that involves theatre, movies, music, or art (drawing, etc.), be prepared for tons of criticism and high expectations. BUT, if it's what you love the most, and if it's your big dream, your goal, your aspiration, then GO FOR IT.
And there will always someone better. There's going to be someone better than her, so don't worry. You shouldn't care if someone's "better" at something than you are. As long as you do it your way, and you're proud of what you do, it doesn't matter. She may have the skills, but does she have the determination? You see, in this world there's another thing: If you've got it, flaunt it. And just do your best and be proud, and by all means, FLAUNT IT!!! :animesmil :animesmil :animesmil

XD Your this upset over someone being better than you? Let me tell you, there were many people who were FAR better drawers than Nobuhiro Watsuki, but he still got famous for Kenshin. Many shows are better than Pokemon, but its till world famous. As long as you have skill, it doesn't matter if someone is better cuz your still great.

If I were you, Id make friends with this girl. maybe yall could be drawing buddies!

boy oh boy just the fact that you have talent to draw is something that I want. I mean I have handwriting that is very very horrible! I know its bad but there is nothing I can do. Its mostly that I had to mostly prefect my handwriging on my own and I learned it in so many bad ways that I'm stuck like this now. It is infact so bad that if I forget to even put my name on a paper everyone already knows its mine. Am I ashamed of this and give up. NO! you know why? I dont know that much either but even if its not the best doesnt mean you can give up. I think I spent atleast a month or a month and an half on a picture and I couldent even get past drawing the head right. Just because you arnt the best doesnt mean that you should give up you know. If you atleast just keep on trying you can eventually over time become better.

Yeah, you got a good talent that most people would just die to have (I'm absolutely terrible @ hand drawing) I envy you, so really you have no excuse to give up just because there's one person out there that is better than you, you just can't let that get to you, I think worrying abotu those kinds of things are pointless, instead, just think of it as an advantage that someone is as good as ro btter than you, that way, you can learn from their style of art & use it as your own.

Holy Crap!

By the sound of it I take it you really are a well accomplished artist. All I can say
(which probaby won't difference) is that you shouldn't give up your passion for drawing. Just because a bucha losers are telling you to "give up", doesn't mean you have to drop everything and heed their every whim and orders. If you have such a passion for drawing then you don't need to ask for help. You already know what you're going to do, right? And just to make sure I'm on the right track you're not going to give up your love for drawing. I assure you, Ichibanotakubak you have a talent that other sophmores and not only 10th graders but practically all ages would kill to have . Face it you're gifted, blessed, chosen, however you want to view it. Some people are born with talents some other talents. At my school you got the better end of the stick. If you're taking this unique talent of yours as a curse, don't.
I myself draw and I have several people who hate me for it. They tell my drawings are lame. I just brush them off though. No way am I going to listen to a butcha no clue idiots. You should do the same.

End of Lecture.

Hey kid, why don't you post some of your stuff in the Art forum and then we can all tell you how great you are, or even better you might get some pointers on how to improve. Everyone gets a little down when they see people who do things better than themselves but that is no reason to give up. If it makes you happy just do it and practice makes perfect after all.

Hell if I would never stop drawing and I know for a fact that I'm nowhere near good in comparison to some people.

No matter what you do there will always be someone who can do it better...and always someone who can do it worse ^_~

Interesting, most interesting.

I?m with the general consensus on this one, following your dreams is probably the most important thing you can ever do in your life, because you dreams are your dreams and nobody ever has the right to tell you not to follow them. The fact hat you?re actually talented in the area you dream of one day working is in itself a major aide as I know plenty of people who?s dreams lay in areas they had absolutely no skill in.

There are always people better than us in life, and as Doukeshi said there are people worse than us too, and those who are on the top of their chosen field suffer from an awful lot of pressure to perform, so maybe it?s best to be on of the top guys rather than the very best. Posting your work in the Art forum is also a great way to get proper analysis of your work as we have some very good artists here and they?ll give you the God?s honest truth.

Don't give up on your dreams. If there is someone who seems to excel in what you do best, use it as a motivation tool to better yourself, but remember not to be discouraged. There are many people who go through the same challenges and turn up successful in the end. You're most likely going to be one of them. I will pray that you will be able to accomplish your dream. Also, why don't you post some of your works in the art forums? I'd love to see them. :animesmil

Don't quit for some lousy reason like..."She was better than me" Competition should bring out the best in you. Besides that...there is ALWAYS someone better than you. The moment you think you are the best...that's when you get sloppy. You have just proven this in your post...you're drawing your arse off to do better than her...competition is a beautiful thing...sure I've done brilliant drawing just when I have no pressure (not a big anime drawer) but I've done far better when I have to try and one-up someone

I think..If you're gonna quit...make sure you have no arms or legs to draw with...AND make sure your mouth is like...wired shut...or...your neck can't move...yeah...THEN I'd quit drawing and give up...other than that...keep going...I hope to see an anime by you some day.

From what you said, you guys are getting to be good friends anyway. You know what the huge plus side of that is? You can help each other out. Work together, be each other's critic. If you work with someone else, you can always learn new techniques, give each other tips. To me, this is hardly anything to complain about. If you love to draw anime/manga, then that's great, keep doing it. Just keep in mind, someone will always be better than you. And that's just natural. Different people are on different levels of, well, everything.
Also, it's okay to feel competitive... it's just human nature to feel at least some heat to make it a competition. That's healthy, too, because if you feel competitive... you push yourself to practice, and not desert whatever you are doing. But... it's good to relax too... and don't let the hunger to be better take over.... and... stuff...
Yeah... whatever.
