Ron stepped on to the deck and grabbed the third sail and pulled it down from the wind. The captain approached him "So, the drunkard decides he wants to be serious." Ron kept at it, not acknowledging the comment at all. She looked at him again and shouted over the winds "So what changed to make you care?" He looked to her "Nothing. I've just got to keep going is all." He pulled the sail down and began wrapping and tieing it to keep it out of the wind.

lie ran to the center mast, the one closest to the helm and tied a rope around it then the other end around herself. Grabbing the helm she held on tightly keeping the ship steady.
This is a big one! Most likely to last for a few hours I suggest that you all get inside before it gets to bad!"
They looked at her as if she were crazy.
"A good captin never abandons their ship!...That's what father always taught me."
She held on tightly as a wave washed over the deck and hit them hard, the large ship rocked and tipped, Sano looked up at her skepticly.
"She can't take this, she'll tip."
"She can hold it off."
Lie put her chin to her chest and braced as the waved continued to crash onto the deck, getting larger and larger with every hit.
"I thought I told you two to get inside before it gets to bad, you too Ron! Do it, this is an order from your captin!"
She felt the breath rush from her lungs as a heavy wave hit her in the back.
"Damn!"
She looked down to see that they too had tied themselves to the mast.
"Stupid fools..."

?Depending on where you go or who you talk to, the term ?Pirate? isn?t just some term to describe a general group of unruly lawbreakers and backstabbers. Just like there?s different merchants, so are the true pirates.? Jem paused as the ship took another violent lurch, she wondered what was going on topside and if everything was all right. ?Maybe we?ll all have to run from one side of this ship o the other to keep from capsizing,? she thought with a small chuckle of amusement.

"What's so funny?"Jem sighed and shook her head Nothing. He sounded so irritated; it was almost as annoying as the drunk was acting pathetic before. With another hit, Jem turned back around and opened the door behind her to head out. "Sorry, this isn't the time. Maybe some other time you'll understand what I'm getting at. However, I have a queasy feeling and must take leave. I'm going up top," she saluted, leaving Azuroth to himself.

Rushing to the top, she stumbled with one of the waves that were hounding the others, managing to hold tight to the railing. It took some bit of difficulty to reach them but she made it in one piece. "As a Captain never abandons her ship, so should her crew stay by her side," she said with a smirk. This was her kind of weather.

Sano noticed she wasn't tied as a large wave came up. He slashed the rope around him as the wave hit sending them both sliding acorss the deck. He caught Jem with one hand as he caught a dangling rope with the other and wrapped it around his arm as the force pulled his shoulder out of socket. he winced as he threw her sliding across the deck to Ron

Ron caught her and the two slide across the soaked deck of the ship. Ron took the two and he pressed himself and her against the railing. She tried to get up and help Sano, but Ron helpd her there "If you go there he's helping you will have been for nothing." He watched Sano dangel and tried to wrigle free. Ron pulled out a swt of knives and looked to Jem "Wait here." He started driving them into the deck and pulled himself over to Sano. He got to his feet and pulled him off the rope and the tow of them ow went to the railing. Sano jabbed him one time "I would've been fine." Ron nodded back "Yeah, sure." He jabbed him again "I should be helping." Ron looked to him "You've done what you can. Now all you can do to help is stay alive." Sano still seemed irratated and Jem stared to him "Big words for a drunk." Ron looked to her and replied with nothing. He held his place on the railing of the ship as waved in the wind and raging water.

The first chance she got with the rampaging storm; Jem smacked both of them once each in the head. "You are both idiots. I've been through weather such as this many times before, and can very well take care of myself. There was no need to risk yourselves as such?You two should have just stayed where you were."

They looked at her disbelievingly, and she nodded her head dead serious. "I'm sorry you got hurt so on my behalf," she said to Sano. She saw Ron looking at her like asking if he was chopped liver or something; he had helped to 'save her life'. Jem gave him a frozen look in return, having nothing to say to him on the matter.

Azuroth stood in his room, the swaying was getting worse and he couldn't do much about it unless he could stop storms. All he could really do was really go up top and help the others, he didn't like this idea. Working with pirates it didn't settle right. But he was going to have to push that aside in order to keep himself alive, he left his room leaving his cloak back on his hammock. He walked up on deck and the rain came down in sheets on them, it felt good on his face but he didn't care much.

"Hey!" He yelled at the small group that was securing the lines, they turned to look at him. Some were surprised to see him out there.

"Anything I can do to help keep this ship from tipping?" He yelled over the storm as he held onto the side of the bow, trying not to fall from the violent swaying.

Lie couldn't help but smile, this was her kind of crew.
"Alright, Jem, take over the helm, we have to get the safety boays down so they don't go overboard with the waves, we also gotta go down to the lower deks and make sure we don't have any leaks, she's gettin slugish. Lastly I need a fool big enough to go topside to the crow's nest and watch for shallows and land masses that'll sneak up on us in this weather. Hope to it now."
She stopped Azuroth and slapped a hand on his shoulder.
"Good to know your on our side here."
She rushed past with the others as Jem took her spot.

Ron looked to the mast and looked back to Lie "I'll take the crows nest and keep an eye peeled." She looked to him distrustingly "You better be sober, or so help you..." Ron nodded and she nodded back to him. Ron grabbed hold and began to climb as it waved, each stroke becoming more vicous as he got higher and higher. He put his hand on the edge of the basket and pulled himslef up, holding on with all he had to make it in the basket. He flopped himslef in and looked out to the water ahead, only able to see the rolling seas ahead of them. Not wanting to take chances he pulled out the telescope on the side of the interior basket and looked ahead toward the north. Thunder and clouds, mixed with the rain and wind made visiblity almost zero. The rain beat on his face like needles as he stumbled about, having trouble maintaining balance.

Alex stood up and set his swords in his hammok, "I have a feeling that I am going to get myself killed on this ship." He sighed as he made his way to the deck. He stopped in the doorway as a big wave washed over the deck, nearly sucking him out to sea.

"Well crap. Its worse out here than I thought. Wonder what I should do. Hey. Captian, whats your orders?" He helled over the deck to Lie.

The ships beating was violent and out of control, Ron kept himself as steady as he could in this torrent. For the longest time he saw nothing, not even a sand bar. When suddenly he noticed a discoloration in the water. It was faint but it was definitly lighter then the rest of the water. It was a sand bar, which meant there might be an island nearby. Ron was going to call to the captain, but decided as long as he could'nt see anything he might as well not get ther hopes up. This didn't last long as he saw a jagged crest on the horizon near the bar, it was an island. That could be thre safe haven from this storm. He leaned over to look down to the captain and shouted "CAPTAIN, there's an island just off the port side."

Azuroth swayed on the ship, waves crashing down over the bow. Azuroth took one step at a time, trying to maintain balance on the slippery deck. He reached the mast and gripped on to it tightly. He looked about the ship, seeing if he could do anything of value. He heard Ron scream at them that there was an island off the port side. Azuroth made his way top the captians wheel when he could see Jem struggling to turn it with the waves crashing on her.

"Need some help?" He yelled over the roar of the sea, she looked at him, still trying to maintain the ship.

"About damn time you got off your ass and help." She screamed back as she started to turn it. Azuroth started to help her pushing on the wheel trying to make it turn to avoid the island, in this harsh weather, even Azuroth knew it was difficult to steer.

"Push hard!" Jem yelled at him.

"Shut up, I'm pushing as hard as I can in this weather. Unless of course you want me to leave." She looked at him with the water drenching her face.

"Just keep pushing." She said as the wheel started to give and turned the way they needed it to. Lie came down and told them to turn towards it, Azuroth groaned and they forced the wheel to trun into the island.

Lie tapped Ron on the shoulder and smiled slightly as he jumped.
"I see it, I alreasy tolde Jem to head for it, You should probably go back down to the Deck, I'm going down my-self. Get everyone back to their cabins, I'll get us there. Don't hesitate. Just do it."
He nodded and she climbed down after him carefully, reaching the deck she watched as Ron and the others began to get below deck. She had just begaun to run to the helm when the biggest wave hit, it hit her hard and she went down. She gritted her teeth as she slid across the deck and hit the side.
"Damnit!"
She looked up and cursed again as the next wave hit sending her over the side and into the surf.

"Hey Alex, you a good swimmer?"

Alex nodded, "Yeah, but why are you asking me that?"

Sano grabbed some rope after he popped his arm back into place and tied Alex. I need you to get the captian and You are one of the lighter ones here. I would just get pummeled by the water"

Alex nodded as Sano tied another rope around Ron then intertwined them together making a larger one. "Jem, Azuroth, Dante. Help me out here" They held on tightly to the ropes as Ron and Alex cut through the waves towards the captain.

Azuroth got the back end of the rope and tied it around his waist, he then extened his daggertail and wrapped it around the mast. It anchored him to the ship.

"I'm ready back here." He yelled over the storm. Jem, Dante and Sano gripped the rope tight as he kept them steady. Makeing sure none of them fell in along with the Lei and the two swimming after her.

Jem was soaked through to the bone, and kept blinking to try and clear moisture from her vision so she could see better in the already unfavorable visibility. She held onto the rope tight as she could, front foot perpendicular to the direction of the rope, trying not to slip along the wet deck even though Azuroth was keeping them steady. If any of them slipped to much it could throw the others off. "I can't see from all the way back here, Some one give a shout when they've reached the Captain!" she called as best she could over the crashing of waves against the hull, rain pelting every surface, and howling winds.

OOC: Sorry to ne gone so long, things have been really hectic latley. I'll get Cain back as well here soon today if he ever wakes up ^^.

Lie was under the waves and holding her breath as long asd possible, she knew that they were on their way, and she knew she easn't going anywher either, her rope made sure of that. She felt strong arms hauling her back by the rope around her waist and was surprised that in no time she was pulled back up to the deck along with the two that had dived in to save her. sano looked at her through soaked hair.
"You have got to be more careful."
"I always am. Lets get this thing to shore and take a break I've been to this Island before, it has a good cove we can huddle in."
She went back to the helm and steered the heavy ship to the cove and smiled as they past the rocks and into calm waters and silnet area. Sano and Jem smiled, Jem looked up.
"I don't think I know this cove, it's nice, does it have a name?"
"It sure does. Hang Man's Cove, hats off gents."
They past a large rock that had nooses and skeletons hanging from it. Jem swallowed.
"Are you nuts Lie...this is where they hang the pirates and murderers."
"Niot anymore...the place was siad to be haunted."
Saqno nodded.
"the ghosts came back to kill the king and get revange. I'm with Jem on this...we should turn back. It's not safe."
"It's the safest place around. I stayed here for three weeks and I'm alive. We'll be fine."
Dante looked at her and smirked.
"How could you survive a three week stay at an abandonded island, no food, no water?"
"The cove is full of fish and lobsters, clams, oysters...take your pick, there's a stream that run straight through that is fresh water. My father brought me here as well on one of our raids. I'm not ashamed to be a pirate, and as such the pirate of old protect me here with this haven of a sanctuary. Mow if you excuses me, I have my dinner to catch, and don;t worry about swimming, there's no current and the water stays warm year round. ven in winter. So enjoy a break already."
she stripped out of her pants and shirt to reveal a two piece black swim suit underneathe. She waded out and then dived in, her arms making long strokes, she went under and came back up with two of the biggest lobsters the crew had evr seen.
"There's a cave under that rock, if you want one or two how wever many, go get them, since the water's warm, they're easy to handle."
she walked through the water and back to shore taking a long leaf she stripped it into pices and made timber, taking her pistol she used the spark and soon \had a good fire going, placing her clothes down beside the fire she went back to the shyip and came back in shorts and a cut off shirt tied just under her breasts.
"Well, I think we landed oursleves in a hurricane out there, so make yourselves at home, we'll be here for the next day or so, they last longer out in the water then they do on land."
Ron looked at her.
"Is there anychance any of it will get inhere?"
"Is it in here now?"
"No."
"There's your answer."
She went under a aplm tree and began to eat the lobster she had caught and cooked just moments before.

Ron went to wade his feet in the water, he wasn't hungry so he didn't bother going to get something to eat. He decided to just sit there in the warm water and relax. Relax, right, like he could bring himself to feel at ease. He had drudged up an awful lot of ugly memories the last few hours. he would have to deal with them before he could cope again. He always had his bottle to keep him numb, but now he actually had to face them, which was much more frightening. He was a coward and he knew it all to well, but he couldn't help it. He couldn't jsut let something like that go, but at the same time what was done can never be undone or even made better. Too much to think about, and he wasn't nearly strong enough to handle something like that. He rolled to his back in the water and began to simply float. He didn't know what to think or who he could turn to. He guessed that none of this crew would care, and besides he wouldn't burden them with this anyway. He kept to himsle fand floated on in the warm water. It felt like he was floating through the warm summer air, but even here he was still uneasy and couldn't feel peace. He was sad, angry and depressed all at once, and he couldn't stop those thoughts.

Standing where she was, Jem made a slight motion with her head and a hand in last wishes of a peaceful afterlife on calm seas for those who died there. She looked at the warm water for a moment. 'Well, I'm already wet, might as well.' Jumping in, she dove down a bit to collect a few clams. Surfacing again, the pirate prepared them quickly to be cooked, then went back to the ship to go get changed.

A few minutes later Jem came back dressed in a simple long green skirt and dark tank top, red hair tied back loosely by some cloth. Setting her previous clothes to dry she sat down to eat, mostly keeping to herself. For a haunted place, it was kind of cozy. 'I believe the captain's right about this place, it's got that feel to it,' she sighed thoughtfully. 'Might as well make the most of the break.'

Azuroth looked at the clear water and could already feel the warmth of it. He took of his leg gaurds and pulled off his shirt, exposing all of his scars and the rest of his burned body. He hung his shirt over the rail and rested his leg guards on the bow, he hopped on to the rail and dived in. He floated on the water, relaxing for the first time in several years. He swam to the shore and relaxed on the warm sand, he closed his eyes and put his hands behind his head. Suddenly a shadow casted across his face and he opened his eyes. He saw Jem with a bunch of oysters.

"Yes?" Azuroth asked Jem.

"Are you ok with sitting out here on the sand with a bunch of pirates?" Jem said with one eye brow raised. Azuroth closed his eyes again and smiled lightly.

"Yup, perfectly fine. I'm glad to admit I was wrong about all of you. Your all not bad at all. Now if you don't mind. I'd like my sun back thank you." She chuckled and shook her head lightly. She turned and started to walk away when Azuroth spoke.

"By the way, you look good in your new outfit." He said with one eye open, she rolled her eyes and kicked up sand at him. He sat up and shook it off. She walked away and Azuroth grinned and started to laugh, he lied back down and closed his eyes once more.

Sano sat down by the rocks that were next to the river that ran partially into the island and waited for some time staring at the water until Jem came up to him.

"what are you doing?"

Sano held up a hand then suddenly plunged it into the water then caem up with a large troat. "I little trick I had picked up" In another ten minutes he had two more and five lobters. Raosting over the fire after he had added some seasoning and herbs he had gotten from the ship to them. He couldn't help but keep looking at the captain out of the corner's of his eyes, finding it extremely hard not to look at her. He sighed as he hung his head as he thought to himself. "She's the captain, you have no chance. And if she knew who you really where, she would shoot you right here" He picked up on of the fish and took a large bite. "Help yourselves if you want any." He made a motion to the whole group

Ron realized that sitting around in the water wasn't going to help. He turn up and ove to the bottom and pulled up a few scallops and oysters. Though he wasn't quite the way he was when he first met them, he still didn't want to talk to them yet. He still had to much on his mind, so he swam off on his own and started his own little fire to boil up the oysters.

He looked at the small pot boiling over as he took it off the flame. He cracked open the still hot scallops and sucked the little guys right out of there shells. He looked at the empty shell and thought 'At least I'm better off then this poor guy'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ron jumped from his bed "Where the hell am I? What happend to Tina?" A doctor came to him "Calm down. She's be arrested, you don't have to worry about her again."
Ron jumped to the old man, but feel short to the pain "You idiot. She saved me. get her out of there now."
The old man put his hands up "I'm sorry, I don't have the authority to do that."
Ron yelled "then get someone who does. NOOOWWWWW!!!!"
The old man jumped dna ran out of the room. Shortly there after, his parents walked through the door "You dhould be grateful. If we hadn't followed you, those thugs would have killed you." His father said in his usual smug tone.
"Then I would have died mear some one who would have actually cared."
His mother was taken aback by this comment "But we do ca---"
He cut her short "I dont' give a crap, just get her out fo there now."
They nodded and they procceded to the jail house where she had been kept. Once they got there there was quite a scene out front. A great gathering of people standing out front of the jail house. Ron was held up by a crutch and hurriedly waddled over to the scene. The people cleared as he and his parents came near.
Once they were clear of the scene Ron walked in to a scene he hadn't dare even imagine. Tina was on the floor motion less, her eyes still opend and filled with pain and her cheecks still stained with the tears. She was dead. Ron feel to his knees next to her body, he was in shock at the moment. He nudged her "Come on Tina. get up, what are you doing on the floor."
His parents came over tohim and tried to move him "Leave it be Ron."
With one violent swing he threw them off him. He shot his death and furious gaze at them, then to the sherrif. He got to his feet and took the sherrifs collar "What happend to here? WHo the hell did this to her!?"
"A couple of the inmates we had put her in with. She was like this when we got here."
Ron looked back to her body as the tears began to run down his face. He put his hand on her forehead and brushed her eyes closed "Why didn't you clean her up? At least give her some dignity."
Then his father came forward again "She didn't have any. Street slime like that know nothing of honor of dign--"
Ron had jumped to his feet and slugged his father to the ground with one punch "You shut the hell up right now. She knew more about that then any of you, so don't you dare tell me what she had and didn't have because you didn't even know her."
His father learched back across the floor as the sherrif held Ron off him "What the hells wrong with you. Since when do yo care about these people?"
"She had a name god dammit, so use it. Her name was Tina, give her that at least."
His father gave no response to this and began another sentence "They don't need or deserve names. The sooner you realize that the easier it will be to accept the fact she's just one more useless life."
Ron wanted to hit him again, but couldn't find the strength for a second lunge. He went to his knees and looked down to her. He then looked back up to the sherrif "What happend to the ones who did this to here?"
"Their terms were up so we let them go this morning."
Rons eyes filled with more tears as he looked back down to her "So they get to walk away scot free huh? No justice for her."
The sherrif looked on to him "Well, she was a criminal. If they want to kill each other, then let them."
Rons eyes became heavy, as his body did. He collapsed right on top of her body.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He sucked another scallop from it's shell "Those are some unpleasnt memories there." He said as he sucked another one down.

Lie let the minimal sun beam down on her looking out to the water they just came from, dark and black, dangerous, the way she liked it, but she wouldn't risk her crew. She sat up from being on her back and looked around Dante was sitting under a tree, his legs crossed, head down, he seemed in deep thought about something, she thought best not to disturb him. She looked around more and caught a glimps of Sano watching her, she smiled and rolled her eyes.
'That's the problem with being a female captin,all the guys fall for you.'
She stood and walked around streching her legs, this was where her and her father used to spend their time together. She looked back at Dante and sighed.
'What was father thinking, I believe there is moer to this arranged marriage story then he lets on...let's find out shall we?'
She slowly walked over to Dante and stood above him, he wasn't asleep, she could see that her-self. She flopped onto the sand infront of him and waved a hand infront of his face, she jumped only slightly as he grabbed it. She blinked at him, he wasn't even looking at her, he had moved so quick;y but his hand was gentel on her wrist.
"what do you wnat?"
"About my father and this whole arranged marriage thing-"
"I'm not marriring you."
"Never said you were. I was going to ask what's the reasoning behind it."
"I can't tell you that."
"Why not?"
"You and I are not in love, therefore, I can not tell you."
He opened his eyes then and looked her over lingering slightly but not yeilding any emotion.
"You know what Father thought I'd see in you I'll never know."
"Likewise captin. Why our parents thought I would want a spoiled brat like you will forever baffle me."
"Than why don't you leave!?"
"I have a duty to fulfill!"
"Screw your duty! You hate me so much then get out of here!"
"I never said I hate you!"
She stood quickly and kicked sand onto his lap.
"Well you could've fooled me."
She spun on her heel and stalked away, she climbed the rope ladder back onto the ship and went to her cabin, going through her trunk she pulled out a old black and white picture of her father and another man, he was tall and handsome...he was Dante's father, she could tell by the face.
"Why did you two do this to us? We always hated each other more then the world around us."
She looked into the background of the picture to see her-self as a little girl wresteling with a young boy her age...Dante.
"I never thought I would see him again...he's so diffrent than he was then...so much more...collected."
She threw the picture down and smiled as a seashell came into veiw, she picked it up and smiled more.
````````````````````````````
"Hey Lie! Check this out!"
"What do you want jerk?"
"Will you shutup and just come over here."
Lie walked over and gapped at the shell in Dante's hand. It was a pale blue and shimmered like a gem.
"Wow...how did you find that?"
"I stepped on it, ther's another piece there."
Lie picked it up and held it to the sun.
"You think it's worth anything you think?"
"What's with you and treasure?"
"I'm a pirate, that's what we trhink about."
"Your not a pirate, your a girl!"
"Shutup Dante!"
"Make me!"
Lie tackeld the boy to the ground and began to wrestle him to the ground again. she pinned him and smiled.
"I win again."
"I'll get stronger then you won't beat me."
They looked up as their fathers called them back and both made sand fly as they raced back to their fathers.
`````````````````````````````````
Lie sighed and leaned on her bed.
"He's so diffrent now, yet so much the same. It's odd to think our father's knew how close we got sailing together. Or how worried I was when we wnet under that he was dead along with the rest of the ship's crew. But now...I have to act as if I don;t remember him. Just to save my-self from huging him. Though he doesn't make that so hard, hugging him now would be like hugging a catus."
She sighed again and let the sound of the waves come and go through her cabin relax her.
"This is gonna be a rough trip."
She looked at the picture once more and smiled.
"father, give me strength, and the patience to deal with him...I feel I'm going to need it."
