From his hotel bed, Kuroichi watched the last rays of the sun dim through tinted windows. He reached up to casually brush a lock of damp hair from his face, leaning back on the blush matress with hands placed carefully so not to disturb Yaiba. Her dark skin glistened with slowly cooling water from the shower they had shared, as did his. She smiled and leaned up, the red silk sheets sliding off her body as she brushed her lips against his neck. He simply grinned and wrapped his arm around her narrow waist, fingertips brushing across her hip.

What could've been yet another passionate moment was interrupted, however, by a loud knocking. Kuroichi inclined his head towards the door.

"Who's there?"

"Doppo, Kuroichi-dono. There is a visitor here for you," he said, tentaively. No doubt he knew what Kuroichi and Yaiba had been doing. He was not secretive about his escapades, and she was far from quiet.

"A visitor?" Kuroichi drawled. "Whom?"

"A messanger. From the Gyshram."

Kuroichi sighed. That meant he had to get dressed.

"Alright. Give me a few minutes."

"Yes, Kuroichi-dono."

The silver-haired man rose and walked over to his temporary closet, grabbing a blood-red robe from within. He slipped it on and handed a similar one, dark blue instead, to Yaiba. She sighed wearily and winked to him. He responded with a soft chuckle. As soon as the robe was on, if loosely, she flopped back onto the bed.

"Shall we kill tonight, Master?" she asked.

"If things go according to plan, you won't have to," he said, straightening his sash. At the sight of her pout, he added, "But you'll probably get to, anyway."

He turned back to the door quickly. "Send him in, Doppo."

The door opened slowly and a dark-skinned man in a heavy cloak stepped in, the eyes glittering from within his cloak a deep blue. The symbol of a pure-blood Gyshram.

"I have come from my master with a message for you, Kuroichi," he said, looking uncomfortable at Kuroichi's dress and company. Yaiba shot him a saucy wink, and he flinched. "The Gwyar are starting to move. We believe them to be heading to Asia to meet with you. However, I do not know how many they are sending, or who. But they are probably sending someone...important."

"So," Kuroichi chuckled. "The Gwyar wish for a meeting, do they? Well, then I shall have to attend to business here quickly. Tell your master that I humbly request he send a squadron to help handle afairs here. They are to take their orders from my Generals."

The messanger bowed. "It shall be done, my lord."

He vanished quickly, clearly glad to be out of the den of sin and decadence. Kuroichi sighed as the door closed and threw off his robe, returning to his closet.

"Looks like I'll have to start my work immediately," he sighed. "The Ijuuj won't wait."

"Shall I come with you?" Yaiba asked, swaying her hips as she walked up behind him.

"That won't be necessary. But if I do not return by morning, come after me that night. I doubt you'll have to, of course."

He smirked and reached into the pocket of his red jacket, slowly drawing out a silver chain. At the end was a diamond.

"With this little gift from the Zugai, I think I'll do just fine."

Soft puffs of dust sprang up around Keitha's feet as she walked the dusty halls of the Gyshram palace. It was dark and eerie. Keitha's shadowns surrouded her as she walked the halls alone. She was readying herself for her trip to see Kuroichi. And her good friend Leila would be going with her. It would be interesting.

" So.... our Lord wants us to go see Kuroichi...." Leila's soft but enticing voice came out of the darkness from a corridor to Keitha's left. Keitha turned her attention to Leila. She was in her traditional white and red kimono, her cream-blonde hair falling over her shoulders.

Keitha smiled. " Yes he does. You're coming like that? Don't you dress in any normal clothes?"
Leila shot Keitha a devious smile. " Of course I do. But I prefer this when around the palace. I'll change and meet you at the plane, the sun is going to rise soon."
Keitha nodded and they went their separate ways.

=============================

An hour later, Keitha and Leila met up to get on the plane. They talked amongst each other, most of the subject serious. Keitha complained again about the lack of privacy that their Lord and Lady showed to her. Leila stiffled a laugh, now dressed in a cream holter-neck with dark red and black pants with a red leather waist-length coat.

As the sun rose, the windows were closed, making it dark. It would take quiet a while to arive where Kuroichi was. They just had to bide their time til then. They would have to hunt when they got there.

Sumiyaka left swiftly to her quarters, blood rising steadily to her cheeks as Orlok's last words rang in her ears and seemed to probe her heart. She pursed her lips to a thin line and closed her eyes and she pushed open the double oak door into her large bedroom. Her bags were all packed and her shinai lay on top of it's case, ready to be inspected by the Lady Gwyar. Sumiyaka lifted the sword and slashed the air twice. It was silent, deadly. Sumiyaka loved it.

She placed the wooden blade into its long, black case. After a quick clap her servant entered and collected her two small bags and Sumiyaka followed him out to the front of the castle carrying her shinai. She was dressed in a black dress, formal and elegant, but practical for travelling. Over her dress she wore a thick, velvet cape, the hood pulled up over her head to shield her form the harsh Russian wind. Orlok was to meet her out the front, then the pair would take a short car trip to the Gwyar's own airstrip. There was a small private plane waiting for them, ready to take off as soon as they arrived.

The sun was starting to peek through thick clouds over the horizon, so Sumiyaka hurried, her hood covering her features. She stepped into the car, but not before passing an envelope to her servant.

"Make sure Helios gets this," she said, slightly ashamedly, "It's very important."

The servant bowed and retreated to the castle as the sun broke through the clouds. The car had tinted windows so Orlok and Sumiyaka were protected from the deadly rays and as the car rolled out of the large gravel drive, Sumiyaka couldn't help but turn her gaze back to the castle.

How long would it be until she saw it again? How long until she saw Helios...she shook her head to clear her thoughts and instead rested back, a little happy to know, at least, that Orlok was not in the mood for more prying after their recent conversation. She thought of the latter she had left for Helios and hoped it was appropriate. If he saw her again it would be unbearable for the vampiress.

The envelope held two things; a dried blood orchid, and a piece of paper, on which was written, quite simply;

Life is a funny old thing,
Your Elizabeth.

A tear squeezed itself from Sumiyaka's eye and she wiped it away roughly with her knuckles. Ahead of them was India, where they would rest for one day before flying to Tokyo. India, according to their sources, was a calm place as far as vampire activity was concerned, but Sumiyaka had learnt by now not to trust corruptible information. She was content, for the moment, to rest until they reached the airport, then much danger was ahead.

She tried not to dream.

OOC: Mugen, I'm in the mood for a little fight, hope you are too. Feel free to get us mixed up with some less than savoury characters, if you wish.

And ULX, I look forward to our meeting. *sweeping bow*

The hawk circled, then dropped down to sit on his shoulder. He smiled at her, then gave her a little food from his pouch. She poked her beak into his ear, and made a strange, clacking noise. He stopped walking, and Ramiel turned back.

"What is it?" he asked urgently, "What is she telling you?"

"We have a change of plan. We are not going to Russia. We are going to Italy, to the home of the Ijuuj. Kuroichi is turning his power towards them, and he could end up attacking them any day now. We have to stop him. With the Ijuuj out of the way, there are very few who oppose Kuroichi. We need as many allies as possible," replied Seraphim.

"How are we going to get from Israel to Italy fast enough?" asked Ramiel, "There's no way."

"We need to catch a plane," said Seraphim, "Now."

----------

Almost two hours later, they were boarding a plane, their weapons disguised in the cargo hold. They had only just managed to get past customs with them, but it had been easier when they had conned their way through as martial arts experts.

They sat on the plane, in silence. They had very little to talk about. It had been a bit of a shock for Ramiel. Twenty-four hours ago, he had believed everything the Council had told him, about the war against Kuroichi, about Seraphim being a traitor, everything. But now here he was, going against all the teachings of his masters, siding with the ultimate blasphemer, the biggest heretic known to the Angels, and travelling to fight alongside him and the band of evil ones known as the Ijuuj. It was a slight shock to the system.

"I am a traitor," said Seraphim softly.

"What?"

"I know what you're thinking. You think I am a traitor, that I left the Myrkur Aniol to side with Kuroichi, and now I am turning against him. That's what the Council has told you all. It's all true."

"You sided with Kuroichi?"

"Oh, yes. But then he went too far. He is trying to take over all the clans, to become a god. No vampire is meant for that. So I left him, but Kuroichi doesn't deal with deserters lightly. He had me tortured. I tried to fight him, but he is too powerful. When I finally escaped, there was nowhere I could turn. I could not join the Krilat Zmaj, the Gyshram or the Zugai, they were all too close to Kuroichi, and I couldn't turn back to the Myrkur Aniol, as I had technically betrayed them. The Gwyar wouldn't take me, as I couldn't remember my own history. The Gwyar only take vampires of the purest blood, and ideally you need to be born into their ranks. I never really felt anything for the Ijuuj or the Labareda. The Mirichai have lost sight of the true purpose of life, and the Knubrap are too barbaric for me."

"What of the Nyroma?"

"I spent a lot of time with them. I learnt how to do fantastic things, but my place was never truly with any clan. I am a wanderer by nature, that's why I left the Myrkur Aniol in the first place."

"The world has changed, hasn't it?" asked Ramiel, "War is brewing. This Kuroichi has no respect for the ancient balance, has he? He doesn't understand that the humans and the vampires must live separately, otherwise all will come crashing down."

Seraphim smiled. So young, so naive.

"That balance is another Myrkur Aniol fairytale, told to young vampires to keep them away from humans. For humans wish to upset the balance as much as Kuroichi. Japan has lashed out against vampires more than once. We are a plague, not fit for this world."

"You wish vampires to be destroyed?"

"Eventually, yes. Our time on this world is coming to a close. The time of humans is closing in. We must all be wiped out eventually..."

Kashi and Yurei finally realized that Kuroichi-Taicho wouldn't be back anytime soon. Yurei pulled out a small GPS system along with a cell phone.

"Manji, dial up a number."

"What kind, sir?"

"A good fast food place. Then call Doppo-sama." Kashi laughed softly and did what his master had told him to.

"Doppo-taichio. Where are you currently staitioned?"

"Currently waiting for the arrival of Keitha and Leila at a hotel. The location should be appearing on that handy GPS of Yurei's. He's too...calm. I do not like it."

"Doppo, now's not the time to talk 'bout Yurei's habits. I'll meet up with Keitha and Leila and take them to the hotel. Gots it?" He could hear the note of respect for Kashi's commanding nature in the reply.

"Always commanding, young Kashi. I shall look forward to your arrivals." Kashi could see the face of Doppo in his mind, an unmmoveable wall. He clicked the phone off, and asked Yurei where the two assassins were, and told him that he was going to retrieve them. Leila; the Fan Maiden and her companion. His eyebrow arched slightly as a grin came across his face. He'd have to see how up-to-date on killing techniques these women were. And if Leila still wore that extremely short robe.

Yurei took the homefront position, staying at Kuroichi's base to make sure no troublesome pests came through. Kashi had taken to finding the two assassins by plane, taking the sweet young vampire into the restroom to sate his vampire urges. Licking a droplet of blood off of her neck, he whispered his apologizes. She hadn't struggled, as he was so careful with his techniques. He retrieved the money out of her wallet, along with her I.D. and several other things. He thought he saw her eyelids twitch, but it was nothing.

The plane landed, and Kashi had to use a more rudimentary method of tracking. Using credit-card tracking to find out Leila's destination. Along with the scent of her blood and perfume, which made it easier. It was a simple matter of time before he found the two-and when he did, he did indeed see that Leila wore that extremely short robe.

"Hmm, Leila. Glad to see you. Ain't got a hug for your friend Kashi?" His lips were in a warm smile, arms open slightly.

OOC: Starts before Deucalion's post and then leads up to it.

Keitha placed her head against the headrest of her slightly uncomfortable seat. Had they known they would arrive in Italy during the middle of the night, Keitha would have told Leila to book their flight in first class, coach was so dry, and boring. But she would have to make do with what they had for now.

"I'm going to take a nap, will you wake me before we land, I hate the sudden jarring." Keitha gave a friendly smile to her dear companion before slowly closing her eyes.

"Sure," Leila chuckled softly, watching the vampiress shift slightly to try and find a comfortable position.

*********************

"Hey, wake up!" Leila's demanding voice and a few jabs to Keitha's shoulder woke her from her dream world.

"Alright...alright! I'm awake!" Keitha waved her hands at Leila playful as the plane took a sudden deep towards the Earth. Keitha quickly fell quiet.

"What's wrong? Its only light turbulance." Leila looked about the plane to make sure there was nothing she was missing.

Time for the past

To catch up to the present

Old friends

And new allies

Maybe a little romance

The ringing laughter of being mocked left Keitha clutching her teeth at the swirling cloud of faint shadows. The plane shifted again as the captian announced they were about to land. The intense pressure change caused Keitha to yawn as she looked at Leila, a bitterness racing through her eyes.

"I hope you will excuse me, but I must leave you when we land." Keitha watched as the other passagners readied themselves for the landing. "I will meet up with you before you leave to the hotel, I must find some one." Keitha said simply as the plane surged forward again.

"Alright," Leila said with a hint of confusion, but she didn't question the Shadow Assassin's motives. She wouldn't receive a truthful or straight answer anyways.

Upon landing, Keitha and Leila waited for the other passagners to disembark before they themselves left their seats.

"I'll meet you at the front doors," Keitha said from behind Leila as they walked up the ramp and into the terminal.

"Alright."

Once both vampires had entered the lobby, Keitha broke away from the young vampire and headed right as if she didn't even know Leila. Keitha passed severial people, coming across two vampires that she did not recognozie. One tried to stop her as she slipped past them both.

"The new allies..." Keitha whispered as she rushed into the small crowd that was scattered about. The large clock on the wall declared that it was late evening, the sun had just set.

Gate 17

Holds what you

Seek

Keitha raced down the long corridor and stopped just 100 feet before the gate that was now releasing its passagners. A sudden surge of power swirled around her as the shadows began to scream and cry out. One of the last few people to walk through the gate entry was a familiar face and one she did not know. A new vampire.

Keitha took a deep breath, composed herself, desperately trying to calm the screeching shadows as she approached the two men...the two vampires. She came before them, blocking their way and completely unarmered.

"Its been a long time Seraphim." Keitha fought the urge to advert her eyes as she took in the attractive blonde man that stood before her. Turning her shakey nerves into a devilish smile, Keitha added; "what brings you to Italy?"

The night was cool and silent as Kuroichi stepped through the huge doors that led into the Church of the Ijuuj. He felt an unwelcome heat radiating from the very walls, his unholy presence being scorched by the holy energies. He smirked as he saw that the sermon was still in session, the Vampiric Preacher exalting the One True God of Vampires or some such. The parishoners slowly turned to face him, their pure white eyes glowing faintly in the darkness. Ijuuj, all right. And the feed was upon them.

They began to rise, walking towards them. Men, women, children. All hissing and snarling, baring their fangs. Kuroichi stood tall, eyes flicking from person the person. There were plenty of them, sure. But not one of them looked the least bit powerful, save the leader himself. It would be quick and relatively painless, tearing this facade of a church apart.

One attacked, a portly man with a dark complexion. Kuroichi stepped to the side, lacing his arm around the man's throat and wrenching it sharply. He fell to the ground with a heavy thud. Another one came up behind him, and Kuroichi put a thin blood dart through his chest, formed from the blood trickling down the first's chin. He swung around and drew his sword swiftly, cutting through two more that advanced upon him. Cannon fodder.

Blood sprayed across the wooden pews, but slowly rose, curving into elegant blades. The knives glittered in faint candlelight before shooting into the crowd, shredding Kuroichi's opponents. He smirking and licked a bead of blood off his sword before walking forward through the carnage. The Priest was all that was left. Kuroichi made his way over slowly, coat billowing around his ankles while the white-clad man stepped back slowly.

"Get...get back, you demon!" he snarled. "You may be strong but you are in God's House, and His power shall let me smite you down!"

Kuroichi snorted. "Please. There's no way you can stop me."

The Priest backed up again befor grabbing a gilded cup from off the alter behind him. He swung it at Kuroichi, the water inside splashing across him. It began to sizzle lightly, and it really hurt like a bitch.

"Holy water! Let's see how long you last, demon!"

A blood needle ripped through the man suddenly, and Kuroichi leapt forward while he was distracted, sword driving through his gut. The man's face paled considerably and Kuroichi sneered, wrenching the blade, gouts of blood spraying out. He cried out in agony, and Kuroichi leaned in to put his mouth right next to the Priest's ear.

"Long enough to see you die, old man."

He pulled the sword out, and the man collapsed. Blood spurted from the wound again, but soon, he was still. Kuroichi sighed and ran a hand through his now-wet hair. He was still sizzling lightly, but it slowly faded thanks to the power of the Diamond. It had, after all, been crafted to counter the Ijuuj. Just another advantage of dealing with the Zugai.

"Shit. I probably should've asked him where the Ijuuj leader was holed up," Kuroichi grumbled.

He looked around, trying to find any clues. Hopefully, his spies had been able to dig up more information on the precise location of their leader. There were five in the area, after all. Well, four.

"One down," Kuroichi muttered, and then turned to walk down the aisle, stepping amidst the bodies. His victory was close at hand - he just needed to work for it.

"Keitha," replied Seraphim, "I really do not have time for this. We have places to be." He tried to walk past her, gesturing for Ramiel to do the same.

"Well, you'll just have to make time for me, won't you?" replied the Gyshram vampiress, pushing him back, "You must have time for an old friend."

Seraphim sighed.

"Very well. But this cannot take long. We need to be somewhere," he replied, exasperated.

Soon, they sat in a coffee shop in the airport, none of them drinking anything.

"I take it the place you need to be is the Ijuuj temple. That's exactly where we are heading," Keitha said silkily.

"Then I take it Leila is somewhere around here as well," said Seraphim, "You two never travel apart, as I seem to remember. You always came as a set."

"Speaking of travelling companions, who is yours?" she asked, turning to look at Ramiel.

"I am Ramiel of the Myrkur Aniol," he replied rigidly.

"Ooh, you've got yourself another deserter, Seraphim. I hope you've told him what happened to your last travelling companion. No? Then perhaps I should inform him of your curse."

"Curse?" asked Ramiel, turning to look at Seraphim. The Flaming Angel never moved his gaze from Keitha.

"Anyone I have ever travelled with has always ended up dead. We never had proof, but it was most likely that they were killed by Gyshram assassins. Most likely Keitha here and her friend Leila."

"We could never stand you to be with anyone else, Seraphim. That's why she had to die."

"What's going on?" asked Ramiel, thoroughly confused by this conversation.

"It is a long story, child," replied Keitha, "And not one for now. But, for now, how about we share transport to the Ijuuj temple. We are all heading that way, anyway."

"What do you mean, "all"? Who else is here?" asked Seraphim nervously.

"I am here, you two are here, Leila is here," she replied, sounding as though she hadn't quite finished.

"Who else, Keitha?"

"He is here."

"Kuroichi?" asked Ramiel.

"We already knew he was here. But the other," said Seraphim, "I can't believe you've brought him here."

"He chose to come here himself. We had no part in it," replied the assassin.

"Kashi is here?" asked Seraphim.

"Yes. It wouldn't be a party without Kashi, now, would it?" she asked. Seraphim stood, his hand on his weapon.

"Now, now, Seraphim, it wouldn't be doing to lose your temper in a public place such as this, now, would it?" asked the Gyshram.

"Come on, Ramiel," said Seraphim, turning away, "We are leaving."

"I look forward to our next encounter, Seraphim," shouted Keitha as they walked away, "The Ijuuj temple awaits! And it was lovely to meet you, Ramiel!"

(OOC: Hope this is ok, everyone, I have set up a little tension between Seraphim and some of the other characters, just PM me if any of this is not ok)

Leila watched Keitha go off in the direction of Gates 1-20. The Fan Maiden could sense other vampires, powerful ones, around her. All of them glided in and out of society like ghosts. They had been trained well.

Looking wistfully Keitha, Leila proceeded down to the baggage claim area where some of her accompanying companions picked up her luggage for her. She looked around, noticing many people staring at her and her kimono. Foreigners.... she thought.

" Hmm, Leila. Glad to see you. Ain't got a hug for your friend Kashi?" a male voice came from behind her. A silver-haired man with blood red-silver eyes. Leila smiled.

" Depends if he's going to be nice to me on this trip," she replied coyly, a loud metallic snap heard from within her kimono.

Kashi looked a little disappointed. " Now now, why would I do that? I'll be a perfect gentleman."

Leila looked at him doubtfully. " A perfect gentleman huh? Well, that means none of your little female feasts hanging around you while either myself or Keitha is here."

" Very well. I have no problem with that."

Leila arched an eyebrow. " And no meals without us. Like you did just before you came to meet us."

" How did you know that?" Kashi asked, looking a little surprised. Leila uses her finge to wipe a bit of blood off of his lip and sucking off her finger. Kashi did not look impressed. Leila laughed.

" Now, shall we go? Keitha will be rejoining me at the hotel," Leila said, waiting for Kashi to be the perfect gentleman he was supposing he was going to be.

Ramiel followed Seraphim, he didn't feel easy around that woman. He was curious about what manner of relationship she had with Seraphim, but he decided not to ask since it was none of his concern. Suddenly Seraphim spoke up "Are you worried?"

Ramile shook his head "I find worry only clouds your judgement. If you keep your mind set and keep your confidence I find your decisoins can be much clearer."

Seraphim nodded "Good to see you have such a well set out look. Esspecially since you just abandonned your caln to travel with a heretic."

Ramiel just nodded not saying anything further on the subject. He looked to Seraphim "So, what are we to do once we get to Ijuuj temple? What if they refuse our help like the Myrkur Aniol?"

Seraphim shook his head "They're not quite as hard headed as that. I'm sure if we plead our case, they will be willing."

Ramiel nodded in response, trying not to dwell on the out come. He kept himself locked in thought as he gazed out the windows lining the walls of the airport, gazing to the stars again. They decended down to the lower levels too retrieve there baggage. Once they recoverd there bags, they left. Ramiel looked to the horizon "We need to take refuge. The sun will rise soon."

Seraphim nodded "Let's be quick about it. Well stay in a hotle til night fall, then move on to the temple."

Ramiel nodded and they hurried themselves to the hotel nearest to the airport.

"Lucian...you wait outside..." ordered Vylon as he entered Draculas chambers. Giving a nod of appreciation to Helios, he entered without any recognition of any comment Lucian made in protest.

As the doors behind him closed, Dracula turned his attention from the window towards Vylon without expression upon his face.

"So...after centuries of exile, the Nyroma show themselves once again...you should be honored to be welcomed in my house once again Vylon...it's been a long time...I imagine you're hear regarding information about what's going on" Draculas tone of voice was direct and firm, trying to be somewhat intimidating to Vylon.

In ages past, it was Vylon who had killed so many of the Gwyar during their 'seperation period.' Vylon was like a ghost...a ghost that brought death to all vampires...a monster who was unleashed by the now Queen of the Nyroma. However the Gwyar weren't perfect either...exploiting these gifted Nyroma for their experiments with vampires. So their records were destroyed....any history of the event was erased except for those who remembered.

"Its begun again...hasn't it Dracula?" questioned Vylon as he took a seat. Dracula closed the blinds and took a seat next to Vylon.

"Yes...a vampires by the name of Kuroichi has created a clan known as the Krilat Zmaj in Western Asia, primarily focused in Japan. He is gathering strength and support...it's rumored that the Gyshram and Zugai have already circummed to his influences. We are sending Lord Orlok and Elizabeth to Asia to meet with him..."

"Who is his maker?" Vylon immidiately questioned...only to be met by another figure arising from the shadows of the floor.

"It is the same Myrkur as before..." stated the Gwyar master as he materialized within the room.

"Caine...it is a pleasure to see you again my master." Vylon bowed obediently to his former master as they both shook hands and sat.

"Vylon...we need the Nyroma with us once again...your powers would be a viable asset to our cause." still Draculas voice was firm and threatening...Vylon recognized this...the tone of voice used upon them as slaves. Vylon's sight was like a blind man...looking at nothing...but his attention turned to Caine... The wisest and strongest of them all....how could he let such a thing happen to his children.

"Has he saught the Blood Ruby yet?" questioned Vylon...his head still not turning, not directing to question to anyone in particular.

"We have had reports that the Myrkur and Grysham have been moving towards Italy, but the wearabouts of Kuroichi has not been determined." answered Dracula.

Caine immidiately added..."with Lord Orlok and Elizabeth heading to Asia, we would imagine that he would be waiting for them in Asia, however I have a feeling that he will delay our meeting and go for the Ruby."

"So...you feel he'll act just as his father did?" Vylon shifted in his chair...sighing to himself as he remembered what happened last time.

"Yes...but his father wasn't as powerful and influencial...Kuroichi is something much more...and will have more impact." Dracula got up from his chair and began to pace.

"My advice...if I will be open my master...'' Vylon reached out and put a hand on top of Caine..."do not make the same mistakes as you did in times past...or you will loss even more support." with a squeeze from his hand Vylon withdrew.

Getting up from his seat..."I came here to seek information...nothing more. The Nyroma have no position as of this moment...but I advice you...do not underestimate this vampire. I can feel it coming...another rift and tear in our species...and if will not go away quiety. Do not think that manipulation and talk will solve...we must all fight. And you must unify all alliances...and show the true strength of the Gwyar."

"So you choose neutrally monster!" yelled out Dracula in annoyance...exposing his teeth to fight. Caine swiftly stood; with his power of will alone it caused Dracula to submit instantly.

"I respect your decision Vylon...and your words are heard clearly."

"Have you brought what I asked for Caine?"

"Yes..." and with that...Caine materialized in his hand a Scythe...long...its blade was made of a glimmering silver, with little light it already seemed to shine. Gold lining spread from its head all the way for it's metallic pole, ending at the spike at its end. Caine handed it to Vylon and nodded.

"This blade...you used to kill our kind...the Gwyar. We found it several centuries ago in our vaults...these are dangerous times Vylon...I hope you know what you're doing."

"For your sakes...this will not be our last friendly meeting." responded Vylon as he held the Scythe beside him.

''What will you do now Vylon?" questioned Dracula...muttering up convidence to speak with Caines recent disapproval.

"I'll seek out the Ijuuj and their leader...Kuroichi will find him...sooner or later...I wish to see this vampire myself."

With a simple gesture, Vylon exited the room...

"What did you all talk about?" questioned Lucian right when he found Vylon walking.

"Leave me Lucian...do what you wish...but I must find some answers to questions."

***

Walking out into the courtyard...Helios spotted Vylon standing alone in the night int he middle of the field. Walking besides him...Vylon spoke first.

"I feel you wish to do something Helios...bored?"

"Yes...I have a desire to fight Kuroichi...to see what kind of power he has...but I haven't been called to do anything yet."

"Then come with me to Italy...there...you can have your chance..." just as he spoke those words Vylon squated down slightly and tensed up all the muscles in his arms. Suddenly an aqua-blue look sphere surrounded them both.

"If you stay within the sphere...you and I will be transported to the Ijuuj leaders' location.''

"You know where he is?" questioned Helios as he entered the sphere.

"Yes...I'm a trafficer of information...I make it my business to know these things...now prepare yourself...this may feel...a little weird." and with that...Vylon raised his arms, and they dissapeared into the night.

"We have slept long enough," said Seraphim, looking out the window and seeing the darkness creep across the horizon. He woke Ramiel and gathered his things, and Ramiel did the same. They both left the hotel room and checked out.

Soon...

The pair stood outside the Ijuuj church, the door slightly ajar. Someone had already got here. They entered the church, drawing their weapons slowly. They looked on into the dim light inside. Seraphim opened his hand and conjured a small ball of flame, which he threw into the church. It lit up the chamber.

"Something's wrong," said Seraphim, "I can't feel the holy energies any more. Something must have happened here."

"Oh my God!" exclaimed Ramiel, seeing what lay on the floor of the church. Seraphim looked down. It was horrible.

Men, women and children of the Ijuuj lay strewn across the floor, their bodies bent and broken into grotesque positions. Blood had been spilt, far across the floor, and it smeared up the walls. Weapons lay on th floor, unused. Pews were smashed, holy water dribbled across the floor, candles had been extinguished.

"No one being could have done all this," said Seraphim, slightly in awe, "It couldn't have possibly been Kuroichi! No-one is powerful enough to do all this!"

"Oh, really," said a smug voice from further inside the church. Seraphim ventured further in, signalling for Ramiel to guard the doors. He followed the voice, through the winding passages that made up the church, following the trail of blood and destruction.

Finally he reached it. The source of the voice. He turned a corner and entered a small cloister, where a single figure stood, bathed in blood. More blood was smeared around this room, and the man was washing himself in a font.

"Holy water," he said, without looking up, "Stings like a bitch, but gets the job done.

"No vampire that's not an Ijuuj can wash in Holy Water," said Seraphim, his voice cold and emotionless, "You must really be something, Kuroichi."

The vampire turned around, his silver hair almost glowing in the moonlight. He wore a red trenchcoat, and he almost seemed to radiate power.

"I can't find the god-damn Ijuuj leader anywhere," he said, as though he was striking up a conversation with a friend, "He's a slippery one."

"You're one to talk," said Seraphim. Kuroichi looked at him and smiled.

"How I've missed your dry wit and sarcasm, Seraphim," he said.

"As I have missed you, you smug git," replied Seraphim, and he embraced Kuroichi like a brother.

"How long has it been?" he asked, "Fifty, sixty years?"

"Verging on eighty, actually," replied the Silver-Haired Demon with a devilish smile.

"Dear God," Seraphim replied, "That long? Well, at least now the Ijuuj are out of the way."

"Yes, but the leader is being problematic. He's managed to slip away again."

"You'll find him, Kuroichi," replied Seraphim, "You always had a knack for that kind of thing."

"And who's that young fellow you've brought with you?" asked the Dark Blood, "He's a little different from your usual travelling companions. Why don't you call him in here?"

"Excellent idea," said Seraphim. He went bakc out and called Ramiel in.

"Ramiel," he shouted, "I've found something!"

The younger vampire rushed over, and into the cloister. He stopped as soon as he saw Kuroichi standing side-by-side with Seraphim, though.

"What's going on?" he asked, "What are you doing?"

"I can't believe I had you fooled for that long, you gullible little boy," said Seraphim, "You've been travelling with a true traitor. I, Seraphim, have been an ally of Kuroichi since the day I entered the Myrkur Aniol. I was never loyal to them. Kuroichi is the only one I have ever been loyal to. Although the Myrkur Aniol did teach me some neat tricks. Such as this one!"

He gathered a ball of flame in his hands, and hurled it at Ramiel. The young vampire held his own hands out and blocked the fireball with a barrier of thunder.

"So, the Angels have taught you well," said Seraphim, "Let's see how good you are against this!"

He raised his hands, and a plume of fire shot from the ground, flying up into the rafters of the church. It wreathed around the wooden rafters, setting light to them, and a lizard-like head formed from the flame. The plume of fire became a dragon, formed from pure flame, and Seraphim guided it with his hands towards Ramiel. The dragon gathered speed, threatening to slam into Ramiel, ripping him to pieces...

Ramiel Brought his hands together and summoned a familiar as Seraphim had "Suzaku, Pheonix of thunder." a massive silver bird rose and met head on with the burning dragon.

There was a thunderous cry and both faded away. Seraphim looked surprised, but then quickly turned his look of surprise to one of delight "I guess for a child your quite exceptional. Let's see just how exceptional." He lifted his hands and surrounded himself with a barrier of fire.

Ramiel braced himself and took up a barrier of lightning "For your information, the Myrkur Aniol didn't teach me this. Her name was Saphiel." He reached to his waist and pulled out his whip in his left hand and took his sword in his right. The silver whip began to dance as he sent his energy coursing through it. With one crack he locked eyes with Seraphim "I'll be the executioner of the traitor of our race."

Seraphim seemed more interested in what he had said earlier "Who was it who taught you?"

Ramiel found it strange that he would take interest in this of all things "Her name was Saphiel. She was the one who turned me and the one who taught me to fight. She also was the one to first tell me of the Myrkur Aniols existence."

Seraphim seemed to be thinking on this for a moment then snapped back to himself "You just be came much more interesting boy." he said with a grin plasterd on his face.

Ramiel didn't care about any of this, he was a traitor, plain and simple, and he would be the one to kill him. As the barrier built the figure of Suzaku the pheonix he had summoned earlier began to appear behind him "Now let's begin." Ramiel set charge as Suzaku flew to the skies.

It was 9:47 pm, local time, when Orlok and Elizabeth descended into the Indian airport in the enormous city of Dehli. The bright lights of the over populated city made it seem as if it where day time during the night. No stars where visible, and the moon was crescent. The aircraft landed smoothly, waking the sleeping Elizabeth. Orlok had his share of sleep early on, and had woken himself up in a dream which he did not remember. The pilot spoke over the intercom, "Lord Orlok, Lady Sumiyaka, we have arrived in our desination of Dehli, India." he spoke over the electric static.

Orlok looked over to the dreary eyed woman, she was stretching her bones and taking in a deep yawn. "Here already?" she grumbled. She withdrew her glasses from the holder she carried in a small purse she kept. She looked up to Orlok.

"That we are, my lady." Orlok said, "Shall we be off?"

Elizabeth smacked her lips and rose from her chair,"I suppose. Let's go, my Lord." she said, still slightly groggy. They both stood on the now still plane and exited to a private welcoming party of one man, Rupert Gastlow. He was a short, but dignified vampire of repute. He had become the clan's director of eastern affairs. He wore a dark grey suit with black pinstrips and a black tie with a white shirt. His shoes where also a shined black.

"Master Gastlow, it has been quite a while." Elizabeth spoke in a suddenly perky tone.

"Lady Sumiyaka! It had, that it has..." the man spoke with mustachioed lips. He was a balding man, something uncommon with vampires, who can usually control such things. It was possible he did so on purpose.

"Rupert, this is my travelling companion, Lord Orlok of the clan Gwyar." Elizabeth introduced Orlok formally, bowing while directing her hands towards him.

"I have heard of him before. Quite a formidable reputation you have Lord." Rupert said, bowing before Orlok. "It is a pleasure to meet you, sire."

"Please rise, my friend." Orlok said, advancing towards the man who had rose. Orlok shook his hand with a firm grip, interpreting respect with his gesture. Rupert shook back.

"Well, my friends. Shall we be off?" Rupert said, sweeping his open palms towards the limosine parked a few yards away. Orlok and Sumiyaka made there way towards it and the driver opened the door for them. The three of them bent down and sat in the spacious vehicle. They then made their way out of the airport. As they drove, Rupert and Elizabeth held small talk whilst Orlok sat back quietly, taking in the cities sites through tented windows. Orlok had always been intrigued with foreign peoples, and enjoyed observing and learning their ways. The lights where bright and the streets where alive with people who went from place to place, carrying out all sorts of activities.

Soon after, the group drove up to a large manor built into the city. It stoof monolithic amongst the smaller houses where the city's richer occupants precided. This large manor acted as an embassy for the Gwyar clan, it was rarely used however. Elizabeth seemed delighted that he place used much of today's technology in it's structure. The grouped stepped out and made their way up the steps of the manor's walkway. Rupert took pride in opening the large, stained-cedar doors, revealing a beautiful interior of marble floor and native decor. Orlok and Elizabeth both seemed impressed with the manor's unique settings.

"My Lady, My Lord, your rooms are up those stair to our right," Rupert said, pointing towards the large, sweeping staricase to the mansions second floor."Please inform me if their is anything I can do to help you, please enjoy your stay."

"Thank you, Rupert." Elizabeth spoke with a smile. Orlok nodded his head towards the man.

"For you, anything my lady. Now I must be off. Business to tend, I'm afraid." Rupert said as he turned around and made his way down a large corridor. Orlok and Elizabeth made their way up the stairs and went into seperate rooms, unloading their luggage. Elizabeth was setting her things down, when a knock came to her door. She answered to Orlok, who stood there politely.

"Yes, my Lord?" she asked the tall man before her.

"I was thinking about stepping out for a while. Taking in the city during our stay. Would you care to join me?" Orlok spoke in a mannerly tone. Orlok was hoping to free her mind from the thoughts that were obviously troubling her. He wished her to have a clear mind for the up coming mission.

Elizabeth turned her head around to her room, and looked to him. "It would be an honor, my Lord. Let me just get my cloak." she said, stepping back into her room and gathering the garment up, placing it around her shoulders. "Lets be off..."

Kuroichi sighed and raised his hand, glaring at the two Vampires in front of him. Crimson energy lashed out from his palm, shoving the two aside into opposite corners of the room. They were distracted, which made his job easier, but now he needed their undivided attention. He reached up to straighten his collar and the sword on his hip, to make himself look dignified once again. He was still damp from the holy water, unfortunately, but could ignore it for now.

"Children, children," he said in a low voice, calm and measured. "There is no need to fight like disgruntled toddlers. I've already had to separate you once, so don't make me do it again. Unless, of course, you don't like your limbs."

The rival angels both stood again, one glaring with fierce rage, the other looking only mildly annoyed.

"I will not let you stop me, Demon," Rameil growled. Kuroichi could see the electricity crackling in his eyes. "I'll kill the traitor, and then I'll deal with you."

Kuroichi merely smirked and rested his hand on the hilt of his sword.

"That was a foolish thing to say, little angel," he chuckled softly. Behind him, a cloud of tiny razors slowly floated into the air. "Now you've made me angry!"

The minute blades shot out like missles, tearing through Ramiel like a metal mist. Tiny cuts opened across his skin, but nothing serious. Just pain, and more blood for Kuroichi to craft. He drew his sword silently while electrical energy gathered around the wounded Angel. This would be a real fight, Kuroichi told himself. Not like the cannon fodder that he'd dealt with earlier. A real battle.

"Prepare to learn a lesson in the way of the world, Angel," Kuroichi growled, readying his blade.

A bolt of electrical energy shot at him and he jumped to the side, the sick smell of ozone filtering into his nostrils. He grinned, and a hunk of shattered wood shot at Ramiel, the angel ducking under it as it smashed against the stone walls. Another jet of lightning, and Kuroichi let himself get his this time, feeling his blood boil with pain and adrenaline. Yes, this was the battle he'd been waiting for. This was his war.

Smoke curled from off his singed body, but he smiled instead of grimacing.

"Seraphim," he said through parched lips. "Prove your loyalty to me by tracking down the Ijuuj. I'll handle your protege."

"No," Seraphim said, shaking his head. "I cannot let you kill this boy. There is too much I need to learn from him. Too many secrets."

"And I will not let a traitor escape!" Ramiel snarled, turning on Seraphim.

Kuroichi sighed again, and the blood razors clattered to the ground before oozing back into liquid form. He resheated his katana and turned to go, pausing briefly to say, "Fine. You two duke it out, while I go handle the Ijuuj leader. Maybe he can give me a good fight," before disappearing back out into the night.

Ramiel watched as Kuroichi disappeared in the darkness, his power was more terrible then he had heard. His attention quickly focused back on Seraphim, that damn snake. Ramile cracked his whip "Now I can kill you without distraction."

Seraphim just smiled "and maybe we can discuss the woman you mentioned earlier. this Saphiel interests me."

Ramiel was irritated by this comment, she ahd nothing to do with this and it was none of his damn business. He called up more lightning and began to form up Suzaku again "My pheonix will rise from it's ashes and turn your body to a dried husk." The large bird screeched and took flight for Seraphim.

Seraphim called on his mighty dragon once again and had the two clash once more, both fading in a shattering cry. She smirked "Come now, is that the only trick she taught you."

Ramiel began to fume "Shut up!" he charged at Seraphim and crossed blades with him. there blades met for a second before they both jumped back from the other. As there blades met both had made other moves as well, Seraphim had tried to burn his finger tips into Ramiels stomach and Ramiel had tried to catch Seraphim with his whip. Neither of them were going to give and inch of leway in this fight. Ramiel charged to strike with his whip this time and caught hold of his sword, but soon found he was in a dead lock. He couldn't pull Seraphims sword away and Seraphim couldn't strip ramiel of his whip. Ramiel un coiled his whip and cracked Seraphim across the chest, but by letting his guard down, he got burned from his flames. they seemed to be on even ground "Don't think that's all I can do Seraphim." Ramiel shouted boastingly.

Seraphim smirked "Yes, I would hope not." They took stance to charge again. ramiel threw off the cloak he wore, then removed his shirt revealing a systenm of chain mail armor underneath. Now he was ready to fight.

Ramiel sent a bolt of lightning towards Seraphim once more, but the older vampire simply dismissed it with a wave of his sword. He laughed at this pitiful effort to harm him, and retaliated with a blast of flame, channelling from his body, and hurtling towards Ramiel.

The younger vampire dived out of the way, and ran around the room as Seraphim guided the flame towards him. He was fast, Seraphim would give him that, but was he fast enough?

"Impressive. But can you handle this?" shouted Seraphim, bringing his arms across his chest. Flames boiled around his hands, spreading across his body, but this time the flames were bright white, with blue streaks. His eyes burned with blue-white fire, and he sent his arms out to his sides, throwing the flame throughout the room, leaving very little room for Ramiel to escape.

He allowed the inferno to die, then looked around for his target. There was a stirring in the rafters, and rolled out of the way as Ramiel came crashing to the floor, his sword pointed downwards at Seraphim. Seraphim's blade came up and clashed with the younger vampire's, and as Ramiel attempted to lash Seraphim with his whip, the older vampire whipped out a second weapon, a wickedly-curved knife, which he rammed into Ramiel's ankle. The younger vampire cried out in pain, and staggered backwards, clutching his ankle.

"Age brings experience, boy," said Seraphim, getting to his feet and drawing a second, identical dagger. He walked over to the Myrkur Aniol and held the blade against his throat.

"And now, you've peaked my interest, so, for now, I will let you live. So long as you tell me all you know of this girl, this Saphiel. I wish to hear more about her."

Ramiel fummed "What business do you have with my master?" he said with his face twisting in pain and rage.

Seraphim smiled "I merely wish to confirm something. Now, would be as kind ot share with me the information I seek."

Ramiel grinned his teeth "I couldn't lead you to her. I haven't seen her in over a century."

Seraphim just maintained his egotistical smile "I didn't figure you would since you were with the Mykur Aniol. I just want to know if she said any thing to you, like what she was planning."

Ramiel knew better then to say something. He obviously knew more then he was willing to speak about himself, but what was it he knew? Ramiel nodded "I get it, she got the better of you didn't she. She found you one day and the next she was gone."

Seraphims once proud face filled with anger. He drove on of his knives into ramiels shoulder "You know what kid, I really do like you. You just remember to watch your mouth when you speak to your elders." He pulled the knife out and kicked Ramiel across the face to the ground. He turned to leave "I'll be seeing you kid. Next time you better have another answer to my question." Seraphim walked off into the darkness of the night and Ramiel staggerd to his feet.

He was hurt, but the would heal soon enough. He brushed himself off and took his cloak and shirt off the ground and put them back on. He looked to the back and decded it best for him to leave as well. He walked off into the darkness as Sseraphim had, but this time he searched for him, so he might kill him. The time of night was quickly fading, he only had a few hours left, not enough time to fight Seraphim again. For now his grudge would have to wait for another night.

It was as he left, that Ramiel rememberd that girl he had met earlier the other night, Keitha. She knew Seraphim, maybe even where he might be going next. Though he didn't think to trust her, it was worth a shot. He would have to find her the next evening; no time to search for her tonight. He slumped off into the abyss, now with a plan.

Kashi smiled lightly, and rather deviously. His arm slipped around her waist carefully, fingers stretching to stroke her stomach lightly through the kimono. They had been friends for countless ages, albeit a mishap that happened a while ago including two other Grysham, but he was innocent. As innocent as someone like Kashi could be, at least. He slipped his hand in his pocket, and pulled out a small white device with two headphones. Leila looked at him quizzically for a second, before returning his smile from before, if not a little more...scary. He moved his finger up to slip the earphone on his ear, casually casting an illusion that Kuroichi had taught him one night after a mission that's details are for another time.

Leila looked rather angry, but Kashi told her why.

"Listen, you don't want to draw attention-Not that kind of attention, Leila-to yourself, right? It'd be unfourtunate if you were found by a..Mykur Aniol or Ijuui. That'd be painful. Those religious types have a tendency to hurt people-beautiful people like you and me, mind you-for hours on end." She nodded slowly, a snap coming from inside of her kimono, which now looked like what any girl her "age" would wear.

"I think you still have a little bit of your last meal on your lips. Better wipe it off if you want to take the taxi to the hotel-or walk." She wouldn't stop with that damn grin. It got annoying at times, but he returned it with an equally irritating smile, wiping off the blood with his index finger and hesitantly wiping it on the marble. It felt wrong to leave something like that alone, but she had insisted that he did so.

"So, Kashi...you never told me of what happened over the last few months." She drawled out casually as he opened the door to the taxi waiting outside, personally hired by him. It was a vampire, another Krilrat Zmaj under Kashi's thumb. He held the rank of Lieutenant-Guardian of the West Gate, but held the power of the West Gate-and a little beyond.

"Nothing, really. Kuroichi-domo is preoccupied with the Ijuui and such, and I still haven't been promoted, probably because no one's died off yet, or moved up. Missed having a pretty little thing besides those annoying Gywar outside of my building, waiting to kill me. At least this pretty little thing here won't rip my head off." He grinned, slightly malicious, and Leila returned the comment.

"Don't be so sure I won't, Kashi-kun..."

Keitha's heart sank as she continued to play a carefully happy smile upon her face as Seraphim left her sight. It was hard to imagine not having his slippery hide near her, fulfilling Kuroichi's tasks with ease. They were such a powerful duet, singing beautiful music until something happened. Something big enough to make him grow suddenly distance and then disappear. That's when Keitha returned back to the Gyshram and met Leila. She had almost forgotten about him.

They venture

To the edge

They'll be leaving soon

Without you

Keitha growled at the dark, swirling mass as she started towards the escalators, hoping Leila had grapped her luggage. It wasn't much there to grab, a small bag with clean clothes, and her sword.

Keitha made her way through the small flock of people as she entered the main lobby and headed towards the front glass doors. That's when she caught sight of a young man obvisouly flirting with Leila. Keitha rolled her eyes as she pushed the door open and broke into their conversation.

"You must be Kashi...I don't quite remember meeting you before, but I'm sure Leila will fill in the details as we head towards the hotel." Keitha bowed half an inch at the waist and then headed towards the taxi. "If you don't mind, I would like to see Kuroichi before the sun rises." Keitha pulled the door open and slid into the passanger backseat.

Leila smiled playfully as she walked around the car and hopped into the backseat with Keitha. It was a good thing Leila knew that Keitha had low tolerance for men that were weak for woman, especially when they were hitting on Leila. The Shadow Assassin knew the young vampiress could handle her own, it was just--something about them that made her leery. She did not wish to see Leila suffer a broken heart from the hands of a youthful, player.

Vigorous yellings were sounded throughout Jarrah?s place of stay in Australia. The Zugai were having a feast and party that could wake up an entire city, if they had not been secluded near the beach. Yet, one Zugai stood with a stern look across her face, a look that could have warded off an entire mob and even the great leaders of each clan; it was a look of separation and frustration that was plastered against her face for hours upon hours. This particular Zugai stood against the doorway that led into the large den, watching her fellow clan members with her arms crossed until Jarrah stood behind her with his large hands on her head. There was a slight growl emitting from her throat but it soon was quieted to a soft snarl of warning, something that she could only do to Jarrah, in fact, at that moment, she had right to for her neck felt bare and she felt empty.

Chuckling, Jarrah shoved the young Zugai into the room and began to feel festive in spite of the bloody storm that was to come. He picked up a goblet of blood and a smaller glass, handing the smaller to the young Zugai. She took it with a slight smile on her face, knowing that this blood was fresh and something that she hadn?t had in hours. Her thoughts about her emptiness soon faded away as she began to feel the natural high she had always felt when the blood flowed down her throat and the taste of the crimson fluid dripped from the corners of her lips. She looked to Jarrah and was, at that moment, happy.

?Bloody hell, Akuma. You?ll get the Death Diamond back soon enough, sheila. That silver-haired bastard?s just borr?in for a bit until his ?affairs? is over.? Akuma, the young Zugai, looked to her father figure with a raised brow. ?Come off it, luv, and have a party. We?re celebrating the beginning of your Uncle Ichi?s time!? There was a sudden burst of cheers and whoops from around the large den, where there lay several bodies and others who brought in more blindfolded.

Smiling slightly, Akuma raised her glass into the air with Jarrah and the others followed suit, clinking the tips of their glasses against one another?s, and having the best damn celebration of their life, their current life that is, and among the rowdy bunch who were always looking for a good time, Akuma was smiling, the corners of her lips curling into satisfaction and happiness, not that of menace and terror. Her face was wearing something different, an emotion that was seen to be long forgotten but soon found its way onto Akuma?s face; she wore her face with a proud dignity and happy thoughts.

Jarrah chuckled to see his clan in an upright mood, filling the dreary mansion with laughter and gaiety. He exited the den, watching younger Zugai running around, playing games, while the older Zugai were having a gay time speaking about their past lives and what they had done, and whatnot. It was then that Jarrah began to think of the times he had had with Kuroichi, the times they were together in combat and in relaxation. There were many of those, and it then dawned on him that it wasn?t shortly after he was found by Kuroichi that Akuma had come into his life. She was the morning star that shined brighter than the sun but would never kill him.

A gentle padding sounded into Jarrah?s ears but he stood, relaxing his muscles and sitting himself down into the large chair that faced the ocean. From the corner of his eyes, he could see Akuma standing a bit behind but still beside his chair. He motioned for her to sit next to him but she made no move, she merely stood, resting her left arm on the back of the chair while her right hand was occupied by a glass of blood. After a few moments, Akuma walked behind Jarrah?s chair and sat in a smaller chair next to him, looking at him and studying his face.

?The ocean seems pretty calm tonight, pushing and pulling. Ya know, you remind me of the ocean- unpredictable and wild but gentle and calm at the same time.? By this time, Akuma looked out to sea with Jarrah, studying its movements, its waves, the sounds, and all that is about the ocean. ?Guardians here would?ve thought me crazy fer takin? you in since you never talked but I guess... I guess you proved ?em wrong, eh?? Jarrah?s eyes weren?t towards the sea; they were now looking at Akuma. His eyes were filled with pride and love for the daughter he came to know.

Still sitting outside, watching and listening to the crashing of the waves, a slight ringing was heard within the house which had become slightly still. A male Zugai came to the door, holding a cordless telephone.

?King, a phone call.?

Seraphim watched as the young vampire left the church. He smiled at how much Ramiel reminded him of himself, back when he was young and naive. As soon as Ramiel had left, Seraphim turned away from the doorway, and doubled over, clutching his chest.

A sharp piece of wood, probably from one of the pews, had lodged itself in between two of his ribs. He was lucky it had missed his heart. He sat down, resting against one of the pews that still lay intact, and grabbed the end of the shard of wood.

One, two...he thought, then yanked the wood out on three. He howled in pain as blood came gushing out. It seemed that only the wood had been holding the blood inside his body. He grabbed Ramiel's cloak and ripped a section off, holding it firmly against the wound.

"I have to be more careful in future," he said to himself, "That battle almost cost me."

He got to his feet tentatively, still holding the robe against his wound, stemming the flow of blood. Luckily, being a vampire, the wound would heal over quickly enough, but he wasn't too keen on losing blood. It left a trail, for one thing.

He fished out a cell phone from his pocket, and flipped it open. He hit the speedial, and held it to his ear.

"Keitha," he said, not waiting for the voice on the other end, "It's Seraphim. I have a proposition for you that I think you'll enjoy. where are you staying?"

He waited for the answer, and smiled, before saying:

"Yes, I've had a change of heart."

"Come in..." responded the Ijuuj master as he leened back in his black leather chair behind a desk. The shades were drawn closed shutting out the light when a subordinate of his came through the door...showing an apparent worry and concern upon his face.

The Ijuuj master wore a typical priests clothing. Wearing a white top hat, clothed in an array of white and red covering his entire body. Upon his right index finger was a rather large gew...the powerful Blood Ruby, forged in a magnificant golden design and frame. His demeanor showed that of a powerful and influencial leader in the catholic community. If not for his 'origins', he could no doubt be the Pope.

"What is it that troubles thee?" questioned the good priest as his subordinate took a seat in front of the desk.

"Master..." stuttered the young vampire...."Father Eos has been killed...along with the slaughter of many of our other Ijuuj brothers."

The Ijuuj master sat still...unflinching at the news as he leaned forward to the vampire who began to shiver...sweating like he had a fever.

"I know this my son...but what worries you so?" he continued to question.

"Because it is the silver-haired demon my lord...and he...he's coming for you...we are in terrible danger."

"You of little faith..." as the priest sat back again in his seat..."why do you worry so?"

"Didn't your fellow master have the same occurance...many centuries ago?"

"What...what did you say?" demanded the Ijuuj master...his face covered in the darkness of the room...hiding the angered yet concerned look upon his face.

"Didn't she die at that angels hands...don't you see...it's happening again." the young vampires voice became sedistic...insulting.

The Ijuuj had had enough...and with a flick of his right hand...all sense of life left the young vampire...leaving his body completely dry, causing his skin to turn a pale grey...solidifying until it almost seemed like glass, on the brink of cracking.

"Tis a pitty...I was hoping to feast upon him when my business here was done." announced Vylon...stepping out from the hallway and into the Ijuuj masters chambers. "It's been a long time Josef..."

Josef motioned to leave his seat...only to be quickly met by Vylon in the blink of an eye with him standing on the opposite side of the desk...right beside the now drained vampire.

"You know I can't have dead blood...could at least have saved me some." as he pushed it off the chair. It's impact on the floor caused it to completely shatter as Vylon took his seat.

"How many did you kill?" questioned Josef as he continued to stand...anticipating anything from this monster.

"Just one...your kinds blood fasinates me...full of wisdom...and holy...if there is such a thing. But do not worry...the rest are quite safe and asleep."

"Your ways haven't changed at all Vylon." as Josef took a seat...feeling a little safer...if Vylon came to kill him...he would have tried to by now.

"But I'm quite surprised at you though master Ijuuj...you knew about Father Eos' death, and you have yet to do anything. I do not underestimate your power...but still..."

"I'm binding my time Vylon...I will not make a mistake in charging in vengance and aggression...let come what may." Josef moved his head out of the shadows to get a better look at Vylon. His silky blue hair hung over his black sash across his eyes as always...staring blankly in a given direction...unchanging as he spoke. Vylon continued however to hold the Scythe to his side upstraight in his left hand...unflinching.

"Walk with me my son.'' beconed Josef as he got out of his chair and began to walk out of his chambers. Vylon was motionless for a moment...but finally got out of his chair and followed.

The Cathedral was enormous, as if it were a small city in itself being located within Rome itself. Its golden pillar were historical...declaring itself among vampires as their heaven away from hell. Paintings and sculptures containing the history of their race filled the halls on either end...filled with memoires and sorrows of all the clans.

"You do realize that Kuroichi has allied himself with the Zugai?" motioned Vylon beginning the conversation. His Scythes base echoed in the great halls as he walked. The priest carried a septor on his back...and a sword to his side.

"Yes...I have...no doubt Jarrah's aid and sacrifice is great with the Diamond in Kuroichis possession."

"And you do not fear Kuroichis presence here in Italy...his search for the Blood Ruby...?"

"No...I don't. You know though Vylon there are greater powers out in the world than the gems...don't forget what you've been taught by your queen."

"I know of what you speak...but they have been lost for centuries."

"I have a feeling they will come out of hidding in this coming storm..."

The two vampires were quiet for a moment...continuing to walk through the endless halls of the Cathedral.

"You came by yourself Vylon?" questioned Josef suddenly...pausing in their pace.

"Yes...I attempted to bring one of the Gwyar with me...but he unfortunately was not strong enough to bear the journey here."

"As yes..." Josef smiling to himself..."I remeber...I'm glad my teachings haven't been ignored."

"Of course not..." then Vylon went quiet...

"What troubles thee...?" questioned Josef.

"You see that statue..." pointing his finger in the direction of a stone piece without moving his head. "Look at those eyes..."

Josef turned to see the magnificant shade of grey and blue molded into the white stone...a young women looking upon them both with love. She carried a young child in her arms...the son of Caine.

"I cannot see them...can you tell me what they show?" asked Vylon who brought his hand down.

"You wish for your eyes...don't you my son?" questioned back Josef who began to walk again into the main service area of the Cathedral. A dark glass ceiling was the roof above their heads...containing glass formations of heroes past.

Vylon followed...and responded..."Yes...for centuries I've desired to see the world for what it is once again...but I've also come for the Blood Ruby if you are not going to be using it anytime soon in good faith."

"Yes...for centuries I've desired to see the world for what it is once again...but I've also come for the Blood Ruby if you are not going to be using it anytime soon in good faith."

"Oh, believe me, he's not going to be using it," was the cool reply. Kuroichi stepped from within the shadows, silver hair shining in the moonlight. "Of course, neither are you. That gem is mine."

"So, the Demon has finally arrived," Josef sneered.

"Indeed. And might I say, Josef, that your security is woefully weak. I barely even broke a sweat getting in here." Kuroichi flashed a half-moon smile quickly. "Even a blind man could get in, as you have clearly seen."

Vylon's jaw tightened almost imperceptibly.

"So, will I be able to walk out of here peacefully, or will I have to cleave your hand to pry the Ruby from it?"

"I will never hand the Ruby over!" Josef snarled. The gem began to glitter ominously on his hand.

"Then I suppose I won't be bored tonight," Kuroichi said, chuckling darkly as he drew his sword. "My quarrel is only with the Priest, blind one. Do not cross me, and I shall have no reason to spill your blood."

Without giving either a chance to reply, Kuroichi moved forward swiftly, the edge of his blade pointed directly at Josef's neck. There was the loud clang of metal-on-metal, and flakes of red iron floated down from the shield of blood that the Priest had summoned around him. The Japanese man managed to push himself back in time to avoid the jagged spikes which errupted forth from the blood, nearly impaling him. A few light cuts glistened on his face, but there was no serious damage.

"You're faster than I expected from an old man," Kuroichi purred. "Looks like it's my lucky night."

Moving around in the back of the taxi, Leila watched Keitha look increasingly more and more uncomfortable. Kashi sat in the front with his underling driving, although Leila noticed that he would glance at her, then at Keitha in a small rear view mirror above him.

It would be another couple of hours before the sun would rise. Leila was also beginning to feel a little hungry. She had not had a meal for quite some time. Maybe she would find some innocent young thing to satisfy her hunger. And maybe Kashi would be so nice and help her out.

A devious smile crossed her luscious lips.

The taxi slowed down and turned into a rather expensive looking hotel. The driver got out and opene the door for Keitha, who got out and went straight into the lobby. Kashi got out and opened Leila's door for her. She got out gracefully and smiled her thanks. The driver went to the trunk and gathered their luggage.

As they entered the hotel lobby, Keitha came to them, having already checked in. She and the driver went up to the room in one elevator while Leila and Kashi waited for the other. They stepped into it as the door opened and pressed the button for their floor. The doors shut and the elevator started going up.

" Oh Kashi?" Leila asked, that devious smile still upon her face.
" Yes Leila?" Kashi answered.

She turned to him and pressed her body up against him. Her finger traced his lips and took what was left of his last meal off his lips, sucking it off her finger in front of his face. Kashi looked at her with wide eyes. Her cold green eyes sparkled like emeralds.

" Now be good Kashi and don't provoke Keitha with your displays of affection towards me. She has near no tolerance of men who are weak for women."

The bell rang to signal that they had reached their floor. She gave him a soft kiss on the lips before exiting the elevator as if nothing had happened. Kashi followed, a little agitated at Leila. He hated how she teased him.

Leila knocked on the door of their room. Keitha answered it with a smile to Leila and a scowl for Kashi. The two vampires entered the room, a loud snap echoing from inside Leila's kimono. They were in one of the top floors of the hotel, overlooking the beautiful Italian city. Leila walked over to the balcony, opening the door to allow herself to step outside.

A beautiful cool breeze whipped through her long cream-blonde hair. Her kimono fluttered in the wind slightly.

Then, something caught her eye. A sphere of blue appeared on top of one of the nearby buildings. Her eyes sharpened. Two figures seemed to have appeared out of the sphere as it faded into the night's darkness.

" Hmm...." Leila wondered.

She saw them converse with each other before leaving the vicinty of the building. Leila quickly withdrew a piece of paper from a pocket in her kimono and made an origami crane. There was a message written in blood on it. As she blew on it, it fluttered out of her hands and pursued the two she had seen materalise out of the sphere.

" Are they friend or foe.... hmm... things could get interesting."

Turning around, Leila found herself face-to-face with Kashi. He hadn't seen the two materalise out of the sphere. Her stomach growled softly. She laughed and looked down at her body.

" Well... I think that's a signal that I need to have a good drink..." she said, setting her eyes on Kashi.
