Hardest Final Boss

I would have to say that The Legend of Dragoon's final boss, Melbu Frahma, was pretty hard for me because that was my very first RPG that I have ever beaten. Plus, he did look kinda scary.... :animecry: :animedepr

Melbu Frahma's final form was pretty hard because of all the staus alignments that he gives you with his magic. It was so annoying because Rose kept hitting Dart and Dart kept guarding and all that other crap that happens when your character gets confuzled. :animeangr

But, in the end, when I beat him, I was jumping up and down and pointing at the screen, saying, "Yeah, that's right! Die, you freak of nature, DIE!!" And then everyone looked at me and I sat back down. But, oh well.... no one understands...

But, yeah, I would say that he was the hardest boss for me. And I beat the game about three years ago, so, all I have to say is.... yay! :animesmil :catgirl:

After taking on Nobunaga's demon form in Onimusha 3, it kind of redefined what I look for in the final boss in any game. He had alot of different techniques that he used and he had n oclearly defined fighting pattern which provides alot more of challenge.

Anyways the first time I played I almost beat him, he was down to his final form then he killed me I was so mad, especially since it is like a 45 min. battle. But ya the battle is way long, since you have to go through all his different forms, and plus with only being able to carry a certain amount of Items. Plus you really don't do extreme amounts of damage, anywho I found this boss to be hard.

I also thought Necron at the end of FFIX was pretty hard, though mybe my characters were just weak. Other than that I can't really think of anything else.
I think the hardest boss is Leopaldon from Guilty Gear Isuka. I've had the game for almost a year and still haven't beaten him. I think it's impossible, even when you block his attacks you still get hurt.
Good call, Justice from Guilty Gear was a total nightmare to take down, cause frankly the computer cheats the hell outta ya, just like Streetfighter 2 on the PC, the NPC does loads more damage and cuts a frame or 2 out of attacks, pisses you off to the point of booting the dog out the window or putting the controller throught the screen

and damn, if you managed to take down everybody including justice in 1 go, then you gotta fight the hidden boss, (chick with 1 arm forget her name) and the fun contiues....

That said, Guilty Gear was defo my hardest boss fight outta any game i played, it wasnt a matter of skill or tactics, it was a matter of die hard patience :animesigh
I believe the hardest final boss is the last boss on Doom Three. It took my about three days just to beat him. Other than that I would have to give the award to...Gannon on Ocorina of Time. So what do you guys think?
the boss on doom 3 was hard as hell for me but as for gannon HA he was a push over and as i said in other threads try beating him with 3 hearts and a broken giant sword...now thats fun!

i would have to say the hardest boss was omega shenron on Z3 from budokai 3
he kicked my *** for like a week before i finally beat him.

I can't remember many boss fights that I found particularly difficult, but I do remember Golden Sun's final boss
the dragon fusion of Saturos and Menardi
was a frikkin beast. My charachters weren't over or underleveled, they were just at the reccomended level. I tried a whole bunch and couldn't win then came back like 3 months later and finally beat it. Then there was Sly Cooper's final book Clockwerk. This sucker was a maniac because while it wasn't particularly hard, one hit would kill you and I couldn't dodge the stupid lightning rings!!! Took me a zillion tries but I never rose from the chair... cept to get pizza.

That would be Lucifer from Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne if your not prepared right or your demons dont have Pierce :animeangr

Dullan from Golden Sun:Lost Ages, he is only easy if you use a certain combo of summons to weaken him.

Star Ocean 3....the bosses that you have to face when climbing to the 211floor is crazy!!! :animeangr ...especially that little girl....she took me forever to beat! :animesigh

I suppose it wasn't the final boss, but the Thunderbird from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link was one of the hardest end fights I've beaten. First off, you have to use half your magic to cast Thunder, just so you're able to damage the sucker. Then you have to cast Jump so that you can get the height to be able to hit the thing. And you definitely want a Shield spell up so you'll only take half damage. Which leaves you with a pretty much empty magic meter, meaning no Life (cure) spells.

So this huge bird is flying around the one-screen room, shooting tons of fireballs down at you, and you have to jump around like a maniac and hit a tiny little spot on it with your even tinier sword to damage it. And as you do more damage to it, it shoots more and more fireballs, some of which seem to be so fast you can't dodge them unless you already know they're coming. I think it took me about ten tries to finally learn the patterns well enough to beat it.

What was even harder, though, was beating Ganon in Zelda: A Link to the Past with as few items as is possible to get through the game with. In that case, you die if you get hit three times, unless it's from a single one of his attacks (which he only uses at the end of the fight) that does less damage. And one of his harder hitting attacks is practically unavoidable unless you manipulate his position in the room by how you move around, which took me a long, long time to learn. That one must've taken me no less than 30 tries to beat.

I dont know for how many others this concers but for the first Fire Emblem on the Game Boy advance. That final dragon was tough. He always seemed to kill all my guys till I was down to the last one and just came within killing distance of him but yet I always seemed to die from it. Then I remember the day I finallay beat it. I almost cried.. However I didnt save which made me want to kil myself afterwards.

God, like every fight in The Adventure of Link is tough. Even some of the regular enemies are just total bastards to beat lol. That game is just hard as hell... I like it a lot, but I can see why people wouldn't look back on it with fond memories. Boy is it ever nice when you beat those bosses, though. :D

And, yes, I'd agree with Des that the Thunderbird fight is one of the more difficult boss battles I've ever come across (that's without putting really geeky limits on myself throughout the game like some people :p).
well I think Sefferoth in Kingdom Hearts was the hardest one to beat since to this day I still haven't beaten him down yet I always get my anus handed to me in a small bucket of well bloodied decay... but yea he is the hardest mofo mid-boss....
Well, I have two things for you: 1)You spelt his name wrong, it's Sephiroth and 2)Yeah, I totally agree with you, he is one of the hardest mid-bosses ever. XD

Anyways, if you need some help beating him, I can give you a few pointers on how to beat him, just PM me and I shall tell you, 'kay?? XD

Gah, I just remembered another tough boss in a game that I still haven't beat after a couple of years and I bought the sequel to it..*slaps hand* Bad me, Bad me!! XD It's Albedo from Xenosaga: Episode One. Gosh, everytime I try to beat him, he either heals himself to full HP or unleashes some powerful attack that either almost or kills me in one shot. I so hate it when he laughs because it kinda feaks me out at the way he does it. *shudder*
And when I saw some of the movies with him in it...holy fliping crap he scares the Antichrist outta me. XD Him ripping his head off in front of MOMO...*shudders*.. very, very disturbing. I couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks!! >.<;;

Hardest final boss? Not so much. But hardest boss? I gotta give that one to Sephiroth in KH. I've beaten the entire game save for the four bonus boss fights and the Hades Cup, but he thrashed me in under 30 seconds. It's monstrous. I think I maybe got one combo hit on him, but then he just wailed on me with a dozen energy attacks and sword swipes. It's...insane.

As for the toughest one I've ever beaten, well, I gotta hand that crown to another KH boss and, again, not the main one. It's either Second Riku or Second Ansem that takes the crown, as each took me over 10 tries to finally topple. Probably Ansem was the harder, admittedly.

You know, the final boss was kind of refreshing in that game...

Ha ha ha! I totally agree with you there, Xion. After all the tough mid-bosses and tournaments in the Colosieum, the final forms of Ansem in the end where pretty easy and made me take a breather. I'm kinda glad it was fairly easy because it got me through the end of the game quicker, but I also wish it was a little more challenging because if I beat a tough boss and get to live to see the ending, then I'll feel a little more... "accomplised" if you know what I mean. =)

I have to say, though, after seeing the ending movies and the SUPER SECRET SPECIAL ENDING, which, I think, that fairly everybody can get easily enough XD, it was totally worth it having to play throuh that whole 50 hour or less game.... depends on how fats you beat it though. XD

Let me give a shout out to Safer Sephiroth from the FF VII game becuase he had me on the edge of my seat everytime he did Super Nova. He did it three time in a row in one battle! And also the one move where he hits your party with different status alignments... T3T Ugh... that almost killed me. Although, it was always good to have Cure 3 ready and waiting after he hit you with Super Nova. I was like, "Yes!!!"
and all happy. =)

Needless to say, whenever my characters turned into frogs at the ending, my sister would say, "Aww.. those frogs are so cute!" And I would turn around and say, "Are you flipping crazy?! I'm losing!!!" And then, she'd scowl and walk away, leaving me with another victory. *Laughs* XD

Sorry, but I gotta say this: Safer Sephiroth from FFVII is easy. Way easy. Super Nova, Pale Horse (the status effect one), whatever. Easily dealt with by a quick all-Cure 3 or a Remedy. Especially since everyone in the party can cast Cure 3 if you've bothered leveing up more than a single Restore materia throughout the game.

Right now I'm playing through FFIV Advance and, so far, about half the boss fights in that game are harder than Safer Sephiroth. And I haven't even fought the final boss yet.

Take the fight against all four elemental lords, all in a row, for example. Now compare Super Nova to Barbariccia's (wind elemental) Maelstrom attack. Super Nova does a few thousand points of damage to everyone, fair enough. But Maelstrom brings everyone down to under 10 HP no matter what. And then she likes to smack at least one party member with a normal attack right afterwards, to kill them. Better hope she doesn't take out Rosa and FuSoYa, because they're the only two (in a party of five that you're having to manage) who can cast Curaga and Curaja (aka Cure 3 and Cure 4). And Barbariccia is only 1/4 of the fight.

Rubicante (fire elemental) also has his Glare attack which is pretty much just an instant kill against a single target; there's no way you'll have enough HP by that point in the game to survive. Oh, and he also likes to cast Fira and Firaga against the whole party, one right after the next, which takes about 1/3 to 1/2 of each party member's HP.

I won't even bother describing the pains of the other two elemental lords, but they have their nastiness to them. Cagnazzo's Tsunami attack . . . heck, Scarmiglion's normal attacks. . . . I was having to fight tooth and nail through all four of the buggers, keeping a very close watch on peoples' HP, my two healers' MP, plus keeping an eye on the timing of my attacks so that I'd be able to cast a cure spell right after getting hit with big attacks. Because turns come up in the order people are ready to act, and you can't switch to another party member before acting -- and monsters will still attack in between your characters taking action.

I have a hard time thinking of Safer Sephiroth as anything but easy after playing some of the earlier games in the series. Especially FFIV Advance here, being the hard type version of FFIV instead of the easy type version on the SNES. Even the end fight in the easy type version was harder than Safer Sephiroth.

Edit:
Okay, slight correction here. Rubicante doesn't use Glare against the whole party, it's only a single target spell. I was thinking of a different boss with a similar attack. But Glare is still an instant kill vs. a single character.

For me it was probably the last boss on the first Xenosaga game, right after you fight Albedo (he has the best laugh ever) which is just unfair. I don't know how many times I tried before I actually beat it and when I did it was pure luck, I think I had about 150HP with Jr. when I did. I remember when I beat it I screamed joyously at the TV screen but I can't repeat what I said on the forum.

But as far as optional bosses go the award has to go to Sephiroth on Kingdom Hearts, I still havn't beaten him to this day. I don't even get the chance to let One Winged Angel pick up before I'm killed, but that's just because I'm at a low level I suppose. He's a lot tougher than what he is on Final Fantasy VII anyway in my opinion.
