Stuart
Now I've already see that some members have already shared their DS's Wi-Fi codes in this thread, In the Play It forum. But, I thought it might be neat to create a sticky thread (Much like the 'Thread Directory' threads) that would give a list of OB member's Wi-Fi friend codes. Perhaps a better example would be Syk3's AIM Names thread. A member could possibly PM the forum's moderator, and that moderator could edit that member's friend code into the list. Thus bringing all our Wi-Fi active members togher for some fun multi-player madness. w00t. Anyways, This is just a suggestion. I'm aware that members could share their friend codes in other forms, but I thought this would be neat idea to consider. EDIT: This could also be used to share Xbox Live usernames.
Petie
I like this idea. It would definitely be easier than searching through posts in the current thread for the one sentence which has the friend-code in it. And you're right, it would useful for Xbox Live Gamer Tags as well. I guess we could just have two running lists in that thread.
Shinmaru
I like the idea, too. I think that simply posting your Friend Code/Gamer Tag in the thread, and then having a mod edit it into the overall list would be better than PMing the information for mods to add in later. But I guess we'll have to wait and see what James thinks of that, haha. But, yes, great suggestion. :)
Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. I think the idea is quite good, as like Petie said it would save people the time of having to manually search through a bunch of pages to get one line. And seeing as you could use the thread as an index for all the contact details for people it would allow people to need only one reference source if they were looking for several names.
Perhaps a better example would be Syk3's AIM Names thread.[/SIZE']
Actually that is a very good idea, seeing as how people could update their screen-names without having to go through the effort of IMing everyone on their list in order to let people know they?ve changed their name. You could also add an extra dimension of ?Who?s screen-name is this ?? as I?ve got a bunch of AIM names on my Buddy List with absolutely no clue as to who they belong to. Desbreko
I've thought about making just such a thread, actually. For Nintendo WFC friend codes, it could serve as a temporary repository until the Nintendo GameLink site James is working on goes up. (For some info on that, check his myOtaku; he made a post about it a while back.) And then people could also post up Xbox Live gamertags and whatnot, as people mentioned. I think this was also going to be one of the uses for The Nexus forum, but I'm guessing that's not going to open till the next version of OB. So in the meantime, if James doesn't have any objections, I wouldn't mind making a sticky for this in the Play It forum.
