The Reapers are after us. There is nothing I can do about this now, but I must try and fight for my freedom. But there is one Reaper I am truly afraid of...

He knelt on the grass, his head down. He felt the energy of his former life running past him. Death was everywhere, you see. It was not just a single being, a single incident, but Death was everywhere at once, all the time. Death was the only true constant in this world, except for its opposite, something which he had recently embraced.

Life...

She came up next to him, and placed her hand on his shoulder. He felt the comfort of her grip, and turned to her. She looked worried, as she had for so long now. Ever since that first time they had first met.

"They're here," she said, "They are here for you. The Reapers you have turned to your cause. It is time."

"Thank you, my love," he said, standing up. He kissed her, and then walked past her. They were in a public place, but she was the only one who possessed the Sight. The rest of the world passed by them, not noticing their presence at all.

He turned to look at the Reapers, each and every one of them.

"It is good to see that you are all here. You are each powerful beyond human imagination, and we will need all your power to fight against our own kind. We have started a war between life and Death, my friends, and you are all my soldiers. So let me ask you, are you ready to renounce your former lives and join me?" he asked them all.

He looked upon them, waiting for their answers...

OOC: Welcome to Love Is Dead. Reapers who are on the human side, please respond with your name, your answer and any other information. Then feel free to mingle and develop character.

Unborn Lord Xion, you are the only Reaper on the Reaper side, so you have full control of the armies of Death. Do what you will with them, and feel free to have free reign over the types of beasts you can summon, but remember your mission: to destroy the traitorous Reaper.

And remember, Love Is Dead...

Sage watched the others closely, seeing there weapons and imagining the damage they could do with whatever hidden skills they possessed that made them the some of the most powerful reapers. He listened to the silence, seeing if any would step up. He got tired of waiting and stepped up out of the group and turned his head to the side and it cracked. He looked the rouge reaper in the eyes.

"My name is Sage Rashna, I will renounce the old reaper ways to help you with what you need." Sage bowed his head to the reaper, then lifted them up to look at the women by his side. Sage's gaze went back to the rouge reaper.

"But do not be mistaken. I do not do this for love or what seems right. I do this to prove a point to the reaper council and to future reapers. They owe me something, this also allows me to use my power without the consequence of Hell again." He bowed his head once more and stood infront of the group. Waiting for any kind of response from the reaper or the others giving up they old ways.

Trianna stood by silently, assessing the Reapers with a mixture of awe and fear. She'd never been in the presence of so many deadly beings, each with different strengths and surprises. Those not bound by mortal law simply astounded her, Trianna was not bothered by human souls and had easily adjusted with the sight of one or two Reapers together but with so many in one gathered assembly it was easy to sense the ominous aura.

She pulled her coat around her more securely and vaguely noticed a few humans looking over at her as she stood, unmoving, in the middle of a civic area. Despite the seriousness of the gathering Trianna couldn't help but let some of her dry wit work its way to the front of her mind. I must look brilliant standing here staring into space...

Returning her gaze to the Reapers before her she shuddered involuntarily, such lively beings... I wonder how faculty Christmas parties go about... This was how Trianna handled nerve-racking situations. A thought or two she found rather amusing would fly through her head before anxiety set in. I can only pray those that feel for us humans do not stand alone...

She locked eyes with a Reaper whose orbs filled with distaste at her and glared back at creature. Not the best way to win allies I suppose, her stormy eyes lowered as she took a calming breath. "Life must prevail..." Trianna whispered solemnly, unaware that the individuals could hear her clearly. It seems even the undead take joy in anarchy.

OOC: When there's more to go on, my posts will be longer.

Sakura looked over at the clock on the wall, it was time. She was waiting in a café until it was time to meet up with the Reaper, fleeing the Council. She silently picked up Chiméiteki that leaned against the wall beside her, and exited, no one knew she left, no one knew she had been there in the first place.

Sakura strolled down the streets without being noticed by anyone. When she arrived at the meeting spot, she saw other Reapers and a human. Sakura approached and looked over the others, she knew most of them by reputation. She surveyed the human, she had the Sight and could see them all.

"It is good to see that you are all here. You are each powerful beyond human imagination, and we will need all your power to fight against our own kind. We have started a war between life and Death, my friends, and you are all my soldiers. So let me ask you, are you ready to renounce your former lives and join me?" the Rogue Reaper asked.

Sakura stepped forward, Chiméiteki rested easily in her hand, an old friend.

"I am Sakura Takeuchi. It is clear that I wish to join you by the fact that I am standing here. Just being here, for any of us means we can no longer return to the Council in fear of being punished and banished to eternal damnation. I do not turn back from any decisions I make. I renounce my former life as a Reaper and accept my new destiny to help you." Sakura finished formally.

She bowed to him, not a deep bow but still an inclination, sweeping Chi so it was horizontal against her abdomen, her left arm held out and behind her gracefully. With the elegance and grace of a cat, she straightened.

"I do this for my personal morals and beliefs. I do not think loving another is wrong, I don't believe that I would do such a thing, but if someone does, it cannot be helped and should not be punishable." Sakura explained.

Sakura spoke with formality since the occassion called for it, she realised but couldn't stop, once she was more comfortable around the group, she would naturally become more casual and most likely friendly.

Kira stood idly with a slight grin upon her face, the Epitaph resting on her shoulder as usual. What an interesting day it had turned out to be. She stood in a meeting of sorts with her new comrades- the 'turncoat' reapers, some humans and her friend. She knew the turncoat Reapers from chance meetings if nothing else- maybe a little conversation here or there, nothing really major. Really, though- she was pleased to be there with them all. It had taken a bit of time to find him but, in the end, he found her instead of her finding him. She shook her head slightly thinking about it as Sakura and Sage went through their introductions. She didn't really expect to have to do an introduction of her own due to knowing 'the rogue', but once the two were done he looked straight at her. Kira arched an eyebrow and mouthed 'eh?' at him. He nodded once at her, indicating she had to go through one of her own. She shrugged lightly and went into an introduction of herself.

She stepped forward and began it with a loud proclamation, "I am the renowned Kira Selene, Goddess of the Flame!" She smiled widely and continued, "I've come here to support you with my blade, k-" She stopped herself from saying 'kid' in the formal situation and furrowed her brow briefly before continuing on, "I'll do anything necessary to aid you- renouncing my former life and anything else you require! I have no fear. Not of damnation, not of the Council or of any of the reapers that might come. You can put your full trust in my skills to burn into oblivion anything that threatens you. And, with these guys," She gestured to Sakura and Sage specifically, "We'll easily shred all the poor, puny bastards they throw at us. I look forward to fighting with you all!" She finished and stepped back.

Done with her little intro, she focused her attention on the humans involved in their little meeting. She always liked dealing humans- especially the ones that could see her with their sight ability. Their usefulness as allies, though, seemed rather limited to her.. at least from what she knew of human power. All this aside, she was especially curious about the human her friend had fallen in love with. Kira eyed her specifically as the meeting continued on.

"Be aware," he said to the others, "This war is not a responsibility to take lightly. The Reapers are not blundering imbeciles that we can easily dispatch, they are trained, battle-hardened warriors, most of them more experienced than all of you. They will be more than a match for us, and many of us will probably not survive this war. I think that it is better you know all of the facts now instead of being surprised later. You cannot believe that our victory is a definite factor, as it is not by any means."

He turned to face his lover, who nodded at him. Then he turned back to his new recruits.

"Kira, my old friend; Sakura; Sage; Trianna, it is time that you knew who you were working with. It is time I revealed my name to you all. Even Kira, who I have known for centuries, has never known my true name. This knowledge is what locks you into this pact for the rest of your lives, for no other Reaper knows this information."

The others looked on expectantly, Kira even more so. He kept looking from his human lover to the rest of the Reapers. He seemed to be nervous about giving away this information.

"My true name is Angelo Mortis, the Angel of Death, but you shall call me Sable. My title is Azrael, Bringer of Death. Now you know of my name, you are all locked into this pact until the end of your existences."

The others looked on him, and felt something lock in their very souls. The pact they had agreed on was now binding. If they turned against it, they would be sent straight to the Council, and now they were all traitors.

"And now it is time for the first part of our mission. Rogue souls have been sighted, each in opposite corners of the city. You will be split up to find and dispatch these souls. Then you will return here to meet up again. Remember, this is more of a test than a part of our mission.

Sakura and Kira will travel to the North-East. There are many rogue souls there, but I'm sure you two will have no problem getting rid of them.

Sage and Trianna will go South-West. There you will find not many, but only one rogue soul. But beware, it is a powerful soul, far more powerful than most you will have faced.

I will remain here while you dispatch these souls. Once your job is completed, report back here immediately.

Now go!"

The Reapers split up into their pairs, and Sable turned back to his lover. She looked worried.

"Do you think they can manage it?" she said softly, and he smiled and moved close to her, brushing back her hair.

"If not, then they have no place on this mission," he replied, and, seeing her shocked face, added, "I am only being truthful. They will face far worse dangers on this mission than the souls I am sending them to collect. I am sorry if my honesty shocks you, but it is better to be honest. That way you are prepared when the time comes."

She nodded, and rested her head against his chest, feeling his breathing...

OOC: Ok, you guys know what to do. ULX, some good news! You have another Reaper joining you soon enough, as soon as Kairi posts his profile in the Inn. Make sure you all read that, by the way.

Sage grinned to himself as he got his assignment, him and the human girl were going to take down a rouge soul. Only one, Sage thought this would be an easy one. Disregarding Sable's warning of it's power, Sage made his way to the human girl and held out his hand to her.

"Grab on. We'll get there quickly." She slowly grabbed his hand and Sage pulled her into him when he felt he had a good grip, he then closed his eyes and concentrated. Darkness began to build up under them and they sank into it slowly, Sage looked at the girl.

"Cover your eyes and don't look until I say so." She nodded her head and shut her eyes tight, they sank fully into the darkness. As they emerged from the hole Sage created he looked around to a familiar setting of twisted horrors. A world where everything was evil and full of hatred, monsters that could only be thought of in the most twisted and cynical mind were here. All of them skulking around, some had physical forms others were but mere shadows floating about. The landscape was barren and dead, the land was black and scarred. The sun was blotted out and the sky was a disgusting greenish gray, trees did not exists here.

Yet there still seemed to be breathable air flowing through this dead world. This was the world Sage drew his power, the Shadow world, that was what Sage called it from lack of better words. He speed pass the creartuers lighting fast, they seemed to be unaware of him but Sage wouldn't have seen them as a threat anyway. He had done this hundreds of times and made it through perfectly fine each time.

The world also seemed to lack gravity so Sage flew through the air with Trianna holding tight. They soon made it to the destination and Sage focused, summoning his dark powers once more and creating another dark hole above them. They passed through it effortlessly and emerged into the physical world.

"You can open your eyes now." Sage said as he served the area, looking for the rouge spirit.

Kira let out a low whistle as Sage disappeared with Trianna into the void, "And there they go.."

"We should get moving as well." Sakura said as she watched the darkness dissipate completely. "There is much ground to cover and we don't have the benefit of that power."

"Yeah, I guess." Kira glanced to Sakura. "Let's get moving, partner."

Sakura ascended up into the air fluidly and rested her glaive upon her shoulder. Kira looked up to her with an arched eyebrow and scratched her chin. "Flying, hm." She tilted her head to the side, "Haven't seen that in awhile."

"Want a lift?" Sakura asked as she looked down at Kira. Kira shook her head a bit and Sakura shook her head, "Are you sure?"

"Might as well just run it." Kira shrugged and gestured north-east, "That's the right direction, yeah?" Sakura nodded, "Good, good. Sable." She looked him and did a casual salute, "We will get this done no problem, chief." Sable nodded a reply to her.

"Yes, you can count on us." Sakura added and got another nod from him. She sailed away through the air towards the northeast at a high speed that caused Kira to click her tongue in surprise.

"She's a quick one, mm." Kira said, turned and did a series up quick leaps up to the building tops. She jumped across them as quickly as possible, following Sakura behind as they made their way towards their destination. Through the sky the two of them went, searching for their objective. As they sailed along, there was evidence of rogue souls scattered around them but none of the rogue souls themselves. Finally, they reached a strangely-quiet area of the city that seemed infested by roving bands of the rogue souls.

"Split up?" Sakura offered as Kira looked down on some of them.

"Sure." Kira stood on the edge of the rooftop and frowned a bit, "But this is going to be a bit annoying."

"It could prove to be amusing." Sakura said before she flew towards a nearby group of souls.

"One can only hope." Kira muttered as she stepped off the edge and fell towards her first targets.

Sakura adjusted the amount of gravity that was surrounding her to lift her up into the air easily. She tapped Chi against her right shoulder and offered to give Kira a lift. She declined and Sakura just shrugged, they said their farewells to Sable and made their way to the North Eastern corner of the city.

Sakura made it there quickly and floated for a while before Kira came up beside her, perched on top of a building. They decided to split up and they got to work, falling from their heights into groups of souls.

Sakura flicked Chiméiteki out to her side and dashed through the group, slicing to the side, then she turned and returned the other way. The souls fell under the slices of the blade and soon more had surrounded her. They all jumped on top of her until they were pushed away by gravity. Sakura rose into the sky dauntingly and she sliced heavily in the air, sending out a large wave of energy, cutting through a row of souls.

Sakura looked over at Kira, she was doing well, using her ability to manipulate fire to destroy the souls. Sakura dived from the air, slicing left and right as she went, listening to the cries of souls as they disappeared.

"Kira, a little fiery help perhaps?" Sakura asked, holding up her glaive.

Kira grinned and nodded, she threw a ball of flame toward Sakura which she sliced through, and the fire stuck to the blade. She smiled and twirled it swiftly around her body, the flame trailing after the blade. Sakura swung powerfully again, this time she released a ball of energy that burned red with the fire. The fire ball sailed over the heads of the souls and hit somewhere in the centre where it exploded, creating a dome of fire that engulfed all surrounding.

Sakura looked over at Kira again, she had many surrounding her but she was cutting them down with her epitaph and flame powers. She stretched out her left hand, palm facing forward and clenched it, retracting the arm. A group of souls was yanked backwards and away from Kira. Sakura then started on getting rid of them.
