Baron Samedi
I don't know if it is already being considered for the next version of OB or not, but I would like to suggest a Quick Edit feature as shown implemented at both Groupsounds and Neowin. When you just want to quickly edit a misspelled word, or something along those lines it is much nicer to be able to just click on quick edit and do it from the same page, I find. Just my two cents.
DBZgirl88
Wow, Baron. I was just going to suggest that yesterday but I never posted it. I noticed the feature too on cosforums.com, and I think it's really convenient.
Boo
If you have quick edit you can also look at the other posts on a page while editing. I often have to go back to the last post, because I want to quote or look at something. The idea is quite excellent.
Gavin
Interesting, most interesting. Well this is the first I've heard of such a feature, though I admit my lack of departure from OtakuBoards is probably the cause. I reckon it's a fantastic idea if it could be implemented in the next overhaul, as no doubt I'm one of only hundreds of people plagued by those irritating little spelling errors, the spellchecker misses. Semjaza
I actually find it quite annoying at times, despite the fact that GS uses it and I run the place. There's a lot of times where you click the submit button and absolutely nothing happens. Luckily you can go to advanced edit and fix it, but it's still annoying. I believe it's only available in certain versions of vB and higher. I don't rememeber what version of the software OB runs... but if it is added, it will likely have to wait until James and Justin do the next version. James
We've talked about this for a while, as it's part of a newer iteration of Virtual Bulletin. Basically we just haven't decided when the best time is to implement that new stuff. I suspect that it might be a good idea to add it before we do the new site, if only because the new site is still a ways off at the moment. Main problem right now is just Justin's time. He's got so much to do that I don't really want to add another thing to his plate. But perhaps we can find another way to get that stuff done, I'll see how it goes.
