Closing Down OB Picture Archive (Get What You Want Now)

Some may know this, some may not, but I host Queen Asuka's OB Picture Archive on my website. Due to moving things around and lack of time and interest on Tori's and my behalf, I decided to shut it down.

I don't really know where else to put this thread and this is really the only worthwhile place. It doesn't belong in the website or art sections because this thread isn't dealing with those particular facets of th e subject. I need a way to inform as many people as possible that use the site without hunting them down individually. I don't even know who half of them are.

If you have some pictures up there you want for whatever reason, go now and get them. I don't plan on leaving it up much longer... when my hosting with this particular company ends, it is gone. That's it. At the very most, that gives until the end of December.

If someone is interested in running the actual site for whatever reason, let me know. You'll need your own hosting and a mySQL database to run the software it currently uses. You don't have to use that if you don't want to, but in either case it's up to you. I'm not going to help aside from sending the files and the database. I will [B]not[/B] continue to host it.

Anyhow, Tony, if you could keep ahold of the actual picture folders for about another week I will grab a copy of them. Perhaps if you zipped the folder and uploaded it to [url=http://rapidshare.de]Rapidshare[/url] then that would be the best way to go. It is a part of OB history, and is one of the last ways to remember some late OB members. I was looking through it last night, and remembered all these people that have since left the boards, like Kinetic, Kenji, The Original, Kazuko etc. etc.

Don't delete them before you send a copy of the photos to me. I would be very sad =([/size]

I really don't feel like having to download the stuff to my computer. There's a lot of it. If you want a FTP login for it so you can download it yourself, feel free to ask.

I don't plan on deleting them... but I'm at the mercy of when my hosting ends. I'm not sure if that's on my billing date (the 23rd) or the end of the month.

I saved all of the pictures I felt like saving... kind of a nice trip down memory lane, though I don't look all that different. :P

[SIZE=1]Again I feel very glad that I didn't upload anything, and that the digital camera we recently acquired via promotion is a heap of junk. Still there's only so many times we can laugh when Des or Baron edit and copy someone's face onto an animal or vice-versa.[/SIZE]
