0ber0n the Neko
OOC: It's such a strange night... with such an unusual moon out! I should start! Somewhere... There is a world governed by magical runestones, called the Thorrim. Their power was what directed the natural balance of life on the planet, and they soon became essential for everyday life. However... Secret societies coveted this power, and the shadowy hand of governmental forces stretched outward, seeking the magical stones that would influence a nation's status. The world is being overrun by chaos, as more and more of these runes are being found and studied, then utilized. The results could be disastrous. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Here are the characters: Vagabonds: Tyr Leifkin - 0ber0n the Neko Dred Farog - Starwind Jar - Random Red Mage Technolytes: Sazurothz - silverwolf_fang Nana Joce - Stark Dragons_Bait15 - Ash Revolutionaries: Leviiril - Latharix_sama Kanya - Raze_3103 Tarma - Linkk (After making the adjustments suggested) LAST NOTE: Don't rely too much on another character's posting frequency. It could mean the death of our post! ----- In the city of Balthasar... Tyr looked about suspiciously. The crowd was sparse, but the goernment seemed to be everywhere, these days. They were in the towers, they were out in the field, and they were among their own people. Dred gave him an annoyed look. "What's with the silence, Leif? Scared someone might find out that you're a wilder?" he smiled with grim satisfaction. "This place is full of your kind. You needn't worry." Tyr looked silently at Dred. He seemed uneasy. "I apologize," he said, simply. "Forget about it, Leif," came Dred's reply. It was hard to hear above the bustling life-sound of the crowd. One sound caught Tyr's undivided attention. He stopped, quickly. He was just in time to hear a large bearded man yell "THIEF!" A youngish looking Mahrim jogged by. He would be smiling, were it not for the large fish in his mouth. He seemed to yell something that Tyr interpereted as "Thanks for the fish, bonehead!" There was a sudden sound, and the mahrim was in the hands of what appeared to be a peasant. It was, however, a policeman. "You're coming with me, thief!" Tyr felt himself reach for the shashka at his waist. Why do I feel I should protect him? The fish lay sadly in the sand. "Lemme go, you sonofabitch! I'm gonna KILL you!" "Thievery and resisting arrest! The courts will tear you apart, scum..." The polceman chuckled, until he found himself faced with a much more expedient doom. Two shashkas were aimed directly at his throat, barely missing the mahrim's head. "I give you three seconds, and by then, the mahrim will be free. Choose wisely." The officer chuckled nervously. "Oh, so you're an accessory, eh? Hehe... You might both find yourselves at the wrong end of a short rope-" "One." "I'm not kidding," the policeman said. His sweat was visible. "Killing an officer will get you no-" "Two." "I'll kill him! I'll kill him if I have-" In an instant, the man's head was severed from his body. The wounds were caucerated by the heat of two fiery shashkas, and didn't bleed. His face was a grimace of agony. "Three," said Tyr. He looked at the mahrim. "He hurt you?" The mahrim only stared. He remembered himself, and said, hurriedly, "Hell NO! Not one of these police officers could catch me for long!" Tyr remained silent. He seemed almost expectant. "Thanks, I guess," the mahrim replied, cautiously. He looked at the sad, half-eaten fish that lay at his feet. "Too bad I couldn't save the fish..." he mumbled. "Yes, too bad," agreed Tyr, "My name is Tyr Leifkin." He let this declaration end his sentence. "And... I'm Jarrius. Call me Jar." He held out his hand, to shake with Tyr, but Tyr only stared at it as impassively as he did everything else. "Hello, Jar." Dreg came speeding around the corner. "Leif, where the hell have you-" his voice said everything. "Oh," came his conclusive reply. Tyr watched him survey the policeman's body. "Damn, Leif... you don't have to ACTUALLY kill him..." Tyr stared as well. He said nothing, but his silence indicated awkwardness. Jar stepped slowly away. "Ummm... I'll catch you guys later... Ciao!" Nobody paid attention to him. Only the two grim figures stood above the decapitated corpse of the late policeman. He walked away, dissatisfied, looking for another fish. Tyr heard footsteps. They were definetely female, and most certainly mahrim. As he turned to face the noise, he found himself face to face with.... OOC: PLUGGING TIME! (That's your cue, mahrim females!) Random
Jar crouched cautiously behind a grouping of barrols, watching the scene infront of him. He was curious about this Tyr... Why? What does this guy have to gain from saving me? he thought. A lone Mahrim like me? His thoughts were interupted by the appearance of a young, beautiful Mahrim. Her black, brown, and orange fur glistened in the sunlight, and it was meticulously placed. She was perfection. Jar tried to listen to what they were saying, but he realized he couldn't, without being seen. Normally he wouldn't give a damn, but today, well, his pride still hurt. That damn Tyr! I could'a whomped that police's ass if it wasn't for him! DAMN! Jar thought. Just like that fucking stupid Ayli... Ayli, a yound Mahrim, was Jarrius', um, "former" partner in crime. They had met a few seasons ago, and decided that two heads were better than one. About a month ago, Ayli had convinced him to come to Balthasar, a god-forsaken hell hole, saying there was "unlimited treasure beyond your imagination" hidden somewhere within the city walls. Once they got there, they searched. And searched. Jar became, well, fucking annoyed, and killed Ayli for being a dumbass. This place is a hole...a whole lot of NOTHING! Jar had thought, resentfully, the night that Ayli had...ceased... to be his assistant. And the worst part is that fucker spend all the god-damn funds! With his mind elsewhere, Jar noticed that the three figures infront of him had gone their seperate ways. Curious to find out what had happened and been said, he decided to follow Tyr, as he seemed to be friendly. Just incase, he got his daggers ready as he walked up to Tyr, then tapped him on the shoulder...
Rhym
OOC: Hey, I signed up a bit late, but 0ber's cool with it. So don't worry. IC: Eskari leaned against the marketplace wall, trying to maximize the shade recieved from the awning above him. The heavy summer sun beat mercilessly down onto the cobblestones of the torpid Balthasar marketplace, making the air shimmer. What I'd give to be cold-blooded like my ancestors, he thought, scratching idly at his scaled arm. Then I wouldn't mind this damned heat. He looked down at his clothes. A black leather trenchcoat with red trim. Stylish, certainly, but suited better to a colder climate. At least my hat keeps the heat off my head. Damn, if only I didn't have to wear these clothes, but how else is my contact gonna find me? His silent gripe was interrupted by a cry of "Stop, thief!" A young Mahrim, fish in mouth, darted through the sparse crowd. He didn't get very far at all before a plainclothes officer caught him. The youth struggled in the stern grip of the law. "Lemme go, you sonofabitch! I'm gonna KILL you!" he shouted. The fish fell to the ground, sadly forgotten. Suddenly, a strange sword was at the neck of the guard, held by an even stranger man. He spoke softly to the guard. His reply was lost to Eskari over the hubbub of the crowd. The strange sword-wielder said something else. This time, the guard's response reached Eskari. "I'll kill him! I'll kill him if I have?" In a flash of steel and heat, the guard's head was no longer on his shoulders. The beheader and the youth exchanged words. The youth retreated to an alley, but the man stayed put. Strange, thought Eskari. Strange and a little stupid. Killing a guard is hardly meritable behavior. If I was him, I'd get the hell out of there. Instead of leaving, the man was approached by someone. A stunningly gorgeous Mahrim female sauntered casually up to him. Yow, she's quite a catch. A shame that I'm not a Mahrim myself. Eskari looked closer. Wait a minute! Is that my contact?
Linkk
Tarma was leary as she approached the skale. But if this was her contact she had to know. Kinda cute she though but not her type. Eskari moved towards her. She pulled out her sais. He looked at her and said. " I'm Eskari. You don't need to be affaird" She lowered her weapons " Yes I do as does everyone else.Didn't you see what just happened? That police officer was beheaded." " Well he was going to kill that mahrim." " Like I said we all need to be affaird. I'm Tarma." " Well follow me" And she quickly took off. Like a lightning bolt she was gone. "WAIT" Eskari ran after her. But he wasn't sure of where she went. He rounded the corner searching his eyes darting everywhere. " Impressive. You're as fast as a mahrim" A soft voice said. He turned to see two yellow eyes pearing at him. She moved out of the shadows. " We need to find a safe place to talk" He said. " I agree. I'm not familiar with this town. I haven't been here long. And I never stay anywhere for long. If you understand" She was very coy. " Well we can go to this little pub down by the river. It's out of the way, quiet." " Lead on" As they started to walk they heard a noise behind the boxes and barrels along the building walls. They also heared two voices approaching. " Well you didn't have to kill him!" Eskari , Tarma and the third hidden presence scramled out of sight.
Random
"Common, Leif...why?" "I dunno...," Tyr replied. "Well, you didn't have to kill him," staited Dred. They both stopped short at the sound of footsteps. Jar's footsteps. "Tyr. I want a word with you...," Jar said, his voice betraying none of the fear he was feeling, but his body denoting otherwise. "That young Mahrim...why did she come up to you after you killed the guard?" "That was...a private conversation," Tyr replied, picking his words carefully, as he always seemed to do. "Oooookay...whatever," Jar said, as he turned his back to Tyr and the Slake standing beside him. "I'm going to find some food...hopefully I won't get caught, eh?" "Maybe you could come with us for some grub?" suggested the Slake. His friendly attitude was unusual for a Slake, and it caught Jar ofguard. "Thanks, but now I work, and eat, alone...ciao!" Jar vanished into the shadows of the dark allyway. As he slipped away from Tyr and Co., he ran smack into another duo: another Slake, and the female Mahrim! "Uh...sorry...er...hi...um...bye!" Jar said, running from them. He could feel his cheeks reddening, and the humiliating scene made his head spin. He could hear the beautiful Mahrim's laughter following him down the ally. He ran all the way back to the inn that he and Ayli had rented. He stayed there and planed to sleep for the rest of the day. Well, he might as well, it was the last night paid for. Before he went to bed, he walked over to the balcony. From there, he saw another scene. Damn, Jar thought. Sure are alot of people with problems here today... Below him, there was a Slake, obviously somehow connected to the government, holding a female Wilder. Facing them was a strange female. There was a demonic-looking wolf, and behind them a spirit-like dragon began to form...This should be good!
Deadpool
Sazurothz saw the village gates come into view. Him and his party of five of some of the strongest, most skilled, and higher ranking officals of his military group travled with him. They knew that they were not going to be welcomed here since it was a town that despised the Slake, espacially anyone of the Slake army, which meant that since he was the commander, this might not be pretty. As the party of six Slake approched the gate an armed 'welcoming party of about twenty strong stood before them. "What do you have business here Slake?" "Business that is none of your own. Now move or I will move you" "I would like to see you try" The captian and the others drew their swords. "Die amry lizard. You know you are not welcome here" Sazurothz shook his head. "No blood will be spilt today" Suddenly him and the others drew small beam swords and ina matter of seconds sliced the metal weapons clean off at the handle. "Now you cannot fight, we shall pass" They forced theri way through and into the city, their armor catching the light and made them look even more demonic. Sazurothz smiled. The Sake had the technology to take over the world, but not the numbers. Witht eh help of the stones, they could make a better name for themselves, by solving a lot of the worlds problems. "Split up and looka round. Ashcraft and Nano have to be around here somewhere." He turned to the tallest of the group that carried a staff which turned into a large energy axe. He was the strongest of the group with the look of a T-rexand also had a tube which fired a small energy bomb abd two smaller batons that turned into broadswords and hand axes." Krill you have the tavern" He turned to a small more raptor looking one with two batons and energy pistols at each side. The batons were shortwords and he had smaller batons all over his body that turned into energy daggers. "Lika, you have the market place" Two ones that had the same appearance as Sazurothz except their skin was white with dark black stripes on them were next. Each had an energy rifle and an energy repeater along with a energy spear. "Quan and Doa, you take the plaza" The last was a thin, wiry looking one with gold scales. His weapons were a long ranged energy rifle, wrist mounted energy bows and a energy scythe. "Gigan. Get to the highest point and look from there" He tunred and began walking down the streets as the passing villagers mumbled about him and his armor. Stark
Nana chuckled as she heard the commotion outside the little junk shop. "Well, sounds like things are getting lively out there, yeah?" She said, glancing toward the door. Something about a theif that must have ended in a bloody mess. The theif must have been a Mahrim; it was the fish vendor that had let out the cry. "There's a little stream not far from here," The shop owner, a lovely brindle Mahrim woman called Felas, sighed. "Haven't they ever heard of fishing?" "No," Nana replied, returning to her work. "Maybe that's why they steal food to stay alive." She had been called in by the shop owner to fix up her old motorcycle. It was obvious that it would have been easier to replace the piece of junk, but she understood the sentimental value that Felas had placed on the bike. It was the same with her and Tanner. Not that she would admit that. She had just lowered her goggles when there was a rap at the door. "I'll take care of it," Felas said, getting up from her languid position on the table. "Is there something I can help you with?" She inquired of the new comer as she opened the door. "Yes. I am Lika, a representative of the Slake Government, and I am looking for some people." Out of the corner of her eye Nana saw Felas invite Lika in, but went back to her work as she felt the Slake's eyes fix onto her. "What kind of people are you looking for?" Felas inquired, sounding like the ever cordial and honest shop keeper that she played herself to be. "There are two," Lika explained in his militaristic formality. "One is a Slake female known as Ashcraft, the other is a Wilder female known as Nana." Nana pulled her hat lower over her face, and shook her head at Felas. Without missing a beat, Felas replied. "Don't know them." Nana immersed herself in the repairs of the bike, and didn't look up as the Slake turned to her. "And you?" He asked, "Have you seen Ashcraft or Nana?" "Never heard of them." Without warning the Slake ripped her hat off, revealing her messy grey toned hair. Nana found herself compelled to look up, and was surprised to see the Slake so close to her face. "I think you know who I'm talking about, Nana." She reached for Tanner, thought better of it, and grabbed the nearest rifle to use for defense. "You've made a mistake," She said, smiling. "That is 'Miss Joce' to you." She swung the rifle as if it were a sword, aiming to knock the Slake over, but was thwarted in that attempt as Lika knocked the rifle from her hands and grabbed her. "Hey!" Felas cried out, reaching for her cross bow. "What do you think you're--" "Stop that," Nana said quietly, recognizing her defeat. "You'll only get yourself hurt." Felas lowered the cross bow. "What are you thinking, N?" "Nothing much." She smiled, "I just know that they won't hurt me." "We won't hurt you so long as you don't force us." Lika corrected, already heading toward the door. "Even if they won't hurt me, " Nana began, winking at her employer, "It doesn't mean that I'll cooperate." With that said she wrenched her wrist from her captor's grasp and darted off, crying out as she tripped upon exiting the shop. To her dismay, Lika had scooped her up before she could even try to recover, and proceeded to carry her to their destination.
Latharix_sama
Leviiril sighed as she watched the commotion die down. "All this fuss over a fish.." She walked with a steady pace toward her favorite pub. She needed information on the government's schemes, and the pub, The Black Craven, was the perfect place to catch the latest scoop. She stared at the river that flowed by the path. It was poluted and stank because of the humidity. She turned away from the depressing sight and set her eyes back on the pub. She watched a Slake male, a female Mahrim, and another figure nearing The Black Craven. Leviiril paused for a moment and then ran after them. They looked like her kind of people, people with information. She caught up with them and grabbed the Mahrim's arm just as they were entering the pub. "Wait...!" She tried to catch her breath. She gasped for air, and then ran her fingers through her creamy hair, trying to look more presentable. She asked slyly, as not to foolishly blow her cover if they were government officials, "Are you who I think you are?"
Raze_3103
Kanya frowned. She had smelled it, a nice thick amout of blood come from the city. She heard a wimper and something rub up agianst her hand. She petted the demons head and smiled. "Come now, Drog. You have no need to be scared. It was not the blood of an animal, but the blood of a Huma." The demon wolf wimpered agian as they both began to walk twards the city. "There are strange things going on here. Be careful Kanya." Drog said in her mind. She nodded and walked into the gates. As soon as she looked around, she saw the headless body of the huma and the people standing around it. "Thats gross. There is no way I am going over there." She grabbed her stomach and turned down a road. As she walked she saw something. A figure, running with someone. It was a slake, and going by the emblem on its shoulder, it was with the government. "Drog, somehow I think we should help. I know that it would put me in with the slake government, but I think it would be a good thing." The demon wolf nodded as it vanished. A second later a white dragon appeared and let out a roar, stunning the slake that was running. "Woman, who are you? Why do you interfere with the slake government?" The slake seemed very annoyed, but refused to let the person down. "Drago, get ready, I do not want you to hurt the wilder." Kanya said, pulling her sword out of thin air, then getting in her attacking stance. "Set her down now. Unless you wish to loose your head while you run." Kanya smiled as she charged at the slake, sword pointed at its head. Her white dragon demon, Drago, right begind her.
Starwind
Dred looked to Tyr "Well if that's all you need with me, I'm getting out of this bloody scene and headed for something to eat. You in?" Tyr looked around for a bit "Why not? Let's make it quick though." Dred smiled and headed for the nearest bar and took a place at the bar like he owned the place. He took his seat and orderd a tall drink and Tyr did the same. Dred looked back to him "So why did you kill that cop? You've been on edge latly, even for you." Tyr shrugged "Rough times is all." Dred nodded "Whatever, just keep it undeer control. I don't want to end up in jail over crap like this, people already are untrusting of our kind as it is." Tyr nodded "I know, you don't have to remind me." Dred took up his drink and took one long swig of it before slaming back down on the counter. Dragons_Bait15
Ash runs along the edge of several roofs following the progress of a police officer she had been targeting since early this morning. He had suprised her before she had a chance to stash her latest victory. A very expencive gold chain with a ruby the size of her fist on it, ok so maby she was exagerating a bit but that was her first chance to eat in a couple of days and would provide money for her to get out of this town. She smirks and fingers the runestone in her pocket she had found it the last time she was in the river. She loses the cop under a bridge that connects two buildings and curses. A commotion rises in the plaza a few houses away but she doesn't pay any attention to it. Might as well cash in some favours, she thinks and heads twords the river. The noon sun glints off something on the tower nearby and Ash stops and looks up at it sweat trickling down her neck. Squinting she shakes her head and looks again, something lands near her feet burning a hole into the roof. "Jic, theres someone up on the tower with a beam gun." she shouts into the head set under her hat. "Get you Slake ass down off the roofs now, Ash. There was a band of Slakes spoted near the gates." comes the staticy reply. Another beam hits nearer and she takes off counting the building till the river. "Why did they come here?" Three building left. " I don't know but meet me at the tavern." Jic voice is clearer but the mike squeels as she jumps off the building and onto a stack of crates. They tilt and then tumble with her into the river. The splash brings a crowd of people hoping to grab some free stuff. Ash climbs onto a dock down the river and looks around, the tavern was infront of her and she smiled thinking of a good drink. "Jic you better have a glass waiting for me." she mutters under her breath while wringing out her shirt. A few people are gathered a little farther down the dock and she glances at them before entering the tavern, a Huma in the corner hails her ands he joins him at he table. A large glass of amber liquid sits infront of him and Ash grabs it, downing it, Jic looks at her horror struck. "That was mine." She only smiles in response and looks around. Several people sit at the counter an da few of the tables are full, Jic pushes her bag acros the table at her and she pulls out a red tuft of feathers. "They say that the Slakes are looking for two people. A girl named Nana and you." She shrugs working with the tuft, it uncurls and turns into a red bird that hops on the table a mechanic whircoming from it. Ash watches the toy and lays her head down, "Night Jic I think I have a sunburn." she laughs a bit and closes her eyes. Jic shakes his head and watches the people who walk through the door. "Ash you might want to wake up!" his voice breaks through her sleep and she looks up in time to see a large beam ax comeing down on the table. She pushes back and smells burnt feathers, Jic jumps on a large T-rex looking Slake and points to the door, "Ash run. The Highroard." One last look at the Slake and the remains of her toy and she heads twords the door hopeing that Jic got away. The Highroad was another tavern in the plaza that was hidden underneath the ground in the tunnle ways below.
Rhym
Eskari and his Mahrim contact, Tarma, entered The Black Craven, one of his favorite pubs and old haunts back from the days when he lived on the streets. He found a quiet booth in the corner just inside the entrance and took the seat facing the rest of the pub. "So, do you have news from the bigwigs?" asked Eskari. "Yes," replied Tarma. "It seems that we'll be able to commence full-on operations in Balthasar soon." Eskari whistled in appreciation. "Already?" "Yes. There's a lot of unrest in this city, what with the massive police presence. Our recruiters have hardly had to work at all and we've still almost doubled our ranks from last month." "Wow. So, do we have a specific date for commensure?" She shook her head. "They don't trust us grunts with dangerous details like that. As far as I've heard, it could be anywhere from a week to two months." "I see. So, is there?" he cut himself off when he saw the Slake enter the bar. He was one of the biggest Slakes he had ever seen, wearing gleaming armor that bore the insignia of the Slake government. He carried a long pole that Eskari could see would become a beam axe. Eskari growled involuntarily and clutched his cesti. "Eskari, wait. What are you doing?" Tarma sounded very worried. There was an urgency in her tone, but he ignored it. "Don't get involved, we can't risk blowing our cover. Eskari, please?" "Tarma," he cut her off. "Please. Call me Scary." Several things happened at once. The gargantuan Slake slammed his beam axe down onto a table used by a Huma and a sleeping Mahrim, shattering the sturdy wood into matchsticks. The Mahrim woke up and the Huma shouted "Ash, run! The Highroad!" And Eskari launched himself out of his seat, barreling towards the Slakii soldier. Time seemed to slow down for Eskari as he watched his fist close in on the Slake's head. It snapped back to regular speed as the impact came with a sickening crunch, sending the soldier staggering backwards. Eskari shouted to Tarma over his shoulder. "Follow that Mahrim! She's important!" The Slake soldier stood slowly to his feet, spitting out broken fangs. "Foolish worm! Now you shall know the wrath of Krill, faithful soldier of Sathurothz!" Eskari crouched into a ready stance and tightened his grip on his cesti. "I hate it when people refer to themselves in third person!"
Linkk
At first Tarma hesitated. But then took off. She was so confussed! She couldn't stop thiking about that mahrim that asked her who she and Eskari were. But it was strange as Leviiril had said she looked like someone from the town who worked in a shop.Rubbish Tarma though. I've never worked here. I've only been here a few weeks. Leviriil had decided not to botrher them ...only at the moment as they seemed quit busy. However as swoon as she saw Tarma run after whoever that mahrim was she too followed them. Tarma though she heared someone following her but whenever she turned around nothing. " HUmmm" She though. " Just because I can't see you doesn't mean you're not there" Ash was just ahead and turned a corner however she dicovered it was a dead end. She turned around but no one was there. " Ha. Guess I lost her." Just then Tarma leaped down from the roof of the building. And caught Ash. At the same moment she turned and threw one of her sais at Leviiril. Sending her falling against some gabage cans. " Why are you so important? Who are you two" Tarma asked them. "How...uh did you? Leviriil began. " Who am I who the hell are you guys!" Ash shoot back. " Scary saidyou were important" Tarma said remember not to use his other name." "Do you know him?" Leviriil was looking at them. Tarma seemed familiar but no she still didn't look quite the same as huh Fellas. She rembered her name. Ash was still just checking these two out. Starwind
Suddenly, as the two of them sat at the bar, this huge Scale solider burst in the door. He carried his large staff with a proud expression. It was none of there business so he decided to stay out of it, as long as this big guy steered clear of him. He put his head down and took another drink, he looked to Tyr "Just stay out of this okay." Tyr nodded "As long as he steers clear of me." Then Dred nodded "Fair enough." Suddenly things erupted. Another person at the bar had slugged that solider. This was getting a little dicey for him, he looked to Tyr "Let's get out of this." They both got up and started out, til the solider bumped into his back. Without thinking, Dred tripped him and put his heel in the guys face. He looked back to the now even more upset solider "Holy shit." He took off out the door, fortunatly speed was on there side as they made a dash for safty. Random
Just as Jarrius was getting settled to watch the fight below, he noticed Tyr and his Mahrim partner running down the adjoining street. As much as he wanted to watch the battle, he wanted answers more. He hoped off the balcony, and began to follow the two via the roof-tops. It was hard to catch up, but thankfully, they stopped in an abandoned shack. Jar jumped off the roof, grabed his daggers, and entered the shack cautiously... "Tyr! Show yourself," he called out. Without warning, hands had dissarmed him, and Mahrim paws put him into a stale-mate with a combination head-lock/arm-lock. "Damn...*cough*...can't...a guy call...*choke*...out a...god-damn...name...?" "Dred, it's ok. It's only Jar," Tyr said, relativley relieved. "Jar, we must stop running into each other like this." "Right," Jar replied, rubbing his sore neck. "Ok, who the hell are you?" "My name is Dredick Farog, but you will call me Dred," replied the curious Mahrim. Jar could tell this guy was a no-nonsence, but a kind soul...considering he had asked him to come with them for lunch. "Alright." Facing the other, Jar said, "Tyr, I still want those answers...Who was that Mahrim, and what did she want with you?" "Why do you need to know?" "I have my reasons...and don't think those daggers are the only weapons I have. Tell me, or it's to your loss," Jar replied savegly. "Dred, why don't you pick this one up? You're the better talker." "Hardly." Dred started, "Okay, for your first question. I don't know who the hell she is, and I don't give a damn. For your second question, it's a bit more complicated than what she wanted with us. It's more of what she wanted with Tyr. She said her name was Tarma, and asked him if his name was Eskari. Tyr said no, she appologized profusely, and walked away. That's all we know. Now, time for you to answer some questions...Tyr?" "Ok. First off, why did you want to know about Tarma so much?" "Like I said, I have my reasons...but I guess that since you told me, I might as well tell you," Jar said. He started at the beginning... "When I was growing up, my family traveled all over this continent. In one city, I can't recall the name, my father decided to stay. When I was there, I met a young Mahrim in the marketplace...and we became friends. If you havn't guessed yet, that Mahrim was Tarma. We became very close, and she was like a little sister to me, as I have no real siblings of my own. One day, my parents, who were Revolutionists, were captured, and I was forced to run. I was inprisonated a few years later, and some Revolutionists, friends of my parents, had saved me. Although I was glad to have been freed from prison, I was pissed that I had had help. I really didn't care who it was because, as for all my life, I've never relied on anyone...not even my parents. When I got free, I went back to the city Tarma had lived in, but when I got there, I found out that her family had been shamed and captured, and Tarma had escaped. Ever since that day, I've been trying to find her...and I heard a rumor that her sister was in this city. I had to check it out, and it seems that I've found her. That a good answer for ya?" "That's more info than we needed, but appreciated," said Dred. "So, you still hungry? We can continue our conversation elsewhere." Stark
Nana stared at the girl and her wolf-turned-dragon in awe; it wasn't often that she saw a Velati, but she always knew it when she did. What was there to say when faced with such grace and power? "Set her down now. Unless you wish to lose your head while you run." The Velati spoke softly, but there was no denying the threat in her voice or her sword. Lika's grip tightened around her, making it difficult for her to breath. It was obvious that he didn't heed the threat, or was unwilling to let go of his pride and submit to the physically smaller and weaker magic user. The impossibly calm and gentle smile on the girl's face was enough to send Nana over the edge, and it was only her grip on Tanner that kept her mind focused. The Velati charged. Tanner came out of its holster. The moment the girl's sword connected with Lika's neck was the moment that Nana pulled the trigger and shot the Slake through the side. The body fell, releasing Nana from it's grasp, the thick, warm blood spilling from its wounds. Nana stepped away, breathing deeply, and simply didn't believe that a stranger would help her, a Wilder and outcast from society, like they did. Nana placed Tanner back into its case, and turned to smile at the Velati. "Well, he's deader than dead now," She laughed, "Thanks for the help." Starwind
Dred peaked his head out of the shack "Well, it doesn't look like someone is following us. Let's get out of this place before the stink sticks to my fur." He walked out and the others followed him. He looked around and noticed a small little place with a sign above 'The Cauldron'. He waved to the other two to head in. Once inside he took a table at any random place, again like he owned the place. He waved to a waitress "Hello there, can I get two orders of fried catfish and a ice cold beer." She nodded and looked to him. He looked back to Jar "So, your looking for this girl and that's the reason you were so interested." Jar looked to him "That's it exactly." Dred huffed "I hate waiting for food." Jar raised and eye brow and Tyr stepped in "Sorry, he thinks with his stomach. Once he gets his food he'll be aboe to focus a little better." Jar leaned back in his seat. Once the food was dropped at the table he started eating immediatly "Anyway, back to the conversation, you like this girl and you haven't seen her in ages." Jar nodded "Yeah." Dred went on "So, isn't it possible she doesn't remember you? I don't want to sound cruel, but your effort might be for nothing."
Random
Jar nearly choked on the fish. The nerve of that bastard! "Watcha mean by that?" he said, and not too nicely. "I'm only being realistic. How do you know that she even remembers you? According to you, it's been quite awhile since you two were friends, right?" Dred replied, not abashed in the slightest. "Okay, you have a point. It has been awhile, but you don't know her, or me, for that matter. She was like a sister, and she would never forget me..." Jar said, but then he started to doubt himself. Is it possible that she doesn't recognize me? She never said anything when I ran into her and that Slake, not that I really gave her a chance... "Jar, you okay?" asked Tyr. "Uh, ya. Sorry, guys," said Jar, coming back. "So, anyways. What brings you two here? Seems like quite the place for you, considering all the comotion going on. Especially with all the Government-rep Slakes roaming around...Dred, pace yourself, or you'll choke." "I coulda given you the same advice a few moments ago," Dred replied. "Anyways, Why are we here? Good question. It all started..."
Rhym
OOC: If you want the best music for this fight, listen to Vindfärd/Människopesten by Finntroll. No really, do it. IC: Meanwhile, in a bar in another part of town... Eskari nimbly dodged a tremendous downward swipe from Krill's beam axe. He swooped in and hit the soldier with a flurry of powerful blows. "Ha ha ha! Funny little worm, your punches are as insubstantial as a light breeze!" Eskari dodged another strike. "Breezes turn into typhoons in the blink of an eye, Krill!" He kicked the legs out from under him with a sweeping low kick. The huge warrior went down hard. Eskari retreated to the far end of the dim pub. Krill was angry now. Bloodlust clouded his vision. He forgot the beam axe entirely and just charged Eskari outright. At the last second, Eskari leapt aside and smashed a chair on the huge Slake's head. He shook it off with a prodigous roar and scooped Eskari up into his crushing grip. The breath rushed out of him as Krill slammed him into a wall. With great effort, he wrenched a hand free and activated the beam blade on his cestus. The soldier bellowed in pain as the beam sliced into his back, letting go of Eskari to reach for the gash. Eskari kicked off a wall and dealt a staggering flying side kick to Krill's chest. The saurian Slake stumbled backwards, gasping for air. Eskari delivered the coup de gras by swiftly decapitating him. Krill's lifeless corpse smashed a table on its way down. The barkeep looked at Eskari incredulously. "Goddammit, Scary, this is the last time you trash my bar!" "Put it on my tab!" He fled out the door. One thought resonated in his mind as he pounded through Balthasar's narrow side-streets. I have to find Tarma.
Jakehammaren
OOC: Sorry about the late join-in, folks! PLEASE! Just click here and it'll link you right to it! IC: Thorkell stood just outside the Cauldren. He was on his way to get a flagon of mead, but the tavern seemed to be getting a bit rowdy as he approached it. Two days in a row there had been a ruckus at the bar. Can't a man get his fucking mead around here? A Slake came tearing out of the door, booking it as fast as he could down the alley to his left. Thorkell decided that he was very annoyed with this particular fellow, as it was the lizard's fault he would be meadless today. Thus, off he went after the Skale. Slakes may be fast, but a meadless Thorkell? Faster. He began gaining on the frantic Slake, who didn't notice his pursuer. When he did, it was too late; Thorkell was upon him. The Norseman tackled the Slake. Thorkell lifted the lizard up by the scruff of the neck. "What are you up to, my fork-tounged friend? You do realize you've disturbed my daily mead run." Dragons_Bait15
Ash shrugs the Mahrim off and takes a few steps away from her. Another one stands facing the one who had grabed her. She brushes imaginary dust off her shirt and smiles, "I didn't know we were having a tea party! WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TWO!" The two Mahrims look at her a bit blankly, then the brindle one speaks up, "Why are they after you?" she points a sai at Ash whose smile widens. " I really have no clue what your talking about lady." she turns and searches the ground around the garbage for something. "Why would they be chasing after you and why did you run?" asks the cream colored Mahrim. Ash kneels and pulls at something, "My guess some one might have found something to incrimante me," she looks back at the two. "My name's Ashcraft. Who's this Scary person?" "He said you were important to the Slake in the tavern." Tarma states watching the slake's unusuall actions. "Err.. you can call me Leviriil." says the cream colored Mahrim. Ash nodds and pulls again not really paying attention. "You can stop that Ashcraft, if you're planning to run you'll die." Tarma steps closer to the Slake. Ash looks at her and sits crosslegged on the ground, "Fine, but if you won't give me your name I'm gonna call you Brindle." she looks up at Tarma, "So Brindle how bout the three of us get a drink in a tavern I know." "It beats getting shot in the head by that sniper on the tower." Ash makes a puppet out of her hand. When both Mahrims are distracted she takes off again, but they catch up to her quickly. Levirill grabs hold of her arm and stops her, "We'll be staying with you until we find out what that scene was all about." Ash shrugs off her hand muttering under her breath and starts walking twords the plaza.
Raze_3103
Kanya looked at the body of the slake, "It was nothing. Personally, I hate lizzards, mainly because they have a major nasty streak along side their back." Kanya patted Drago on the head as it vanished. "Thats something you have right there. A dragon, and a wolf. What exacally are you. I know you are a Velati, but that is only skin deep." The wilder looked at Kanya hard. Kanya smiled, "I am a druid, and a summoner. I can summon a wolf and a dragon, and control animals that hace little to no hate in their hearts." Kanya giggled as a loud crash was heard down the street. "Something tells me that that had to do with the slake government." Nana said, looking at the cloud of smoke. "By the way, my name is Nana, nice to meet you." Kanya smiled and nodded. "I am Kanya. The pleasure is all mine. For now, I think it good if you get away, so they will think that I was the only one that killed this slake. IF they realize that you are close by, there will be no hiding." Kanya looked around and smiled as Drog appeared in a vortex of wind. "Another one is on its way. And this one is stronger than the one we killed. I suggest that the wilder gets out of here now." Drog turned to Kanya as his words rang in her head. "Did he just say something about me? I think he did. What did he say?" Nana asked, bending down to look closer at Drog. "Well, he said that there is another slake on its way. This one is higher up than the last one. This one knows you are here. He thinks you should go, let me take care of the lizzard." Kanya smiled as Nana stood up. "Well, he seems to be a smart wolf. Thank you both." She shook Kanya's hand then made her way down the street as a large slake appeared down the street. "Was it you that killed my scout? He was looking for someone by the name of Nana. Have you seen her?" The slake looked coldly at Kanya then smiled. "My name is Sazurothz and I am part of the Slake Government. I would suggest you start talking about anything you know." The slake smiled as Kanya started to crouch. She brought her sword over her head and pointed it straight at the slake. "No thanks. I would honnestly say that unless you wish to loose your head, you should turn around and leave." She smirked as she took a small step forward. Drog began to growl as it charged at the slake.
Random
"Anyways, Why are we here? Good question. It all started..." began Dred, but he was interupted by Jar. "Hang on a sec, Dred. I'll be right back." Jar had noticed a dark furred Mahrim walk into the bar. As Jar walked over to him, he said, "Ryu? Ryu Asumaki? That you?" "No, I'm not. You're thinking of someone else," the stand-offish Mahrim replied. Jar noticed that he was very skiddish, looking for something to either find or get away from. "You have to be Ryu. I'm Jarrius, remember me?" Jar said, wondering what was wrong with the other Mahrim. "You, me, and Ayli met a few months ago in Ragian..." The Mahrim cut him off short, saying, "I'm not Ryu, ok? Leave me alone, or you'll be missing more than your tail." After giving Jar a meaningful glance, the Mahrim haistily walked out of the bar. Jar made his way over to the table with Tyr and Dred, throughly confused. "What was that about?" asked Tyr, almost as confused as Jar himself. "It's a long story...one better off told when I find out what's wrong with Ryu. I'll see you guys around, ok?" And with that, Jar promptly followed the Mahrim, who he believed to be one called Ryu Asumaki. "Oh, and thanks for the fish, Dred." It has to be him, thought Jar. It has to. He knew about my tail. Jar's tail had been severed close to his body the day he, Ryu, and Ayli had met. Since he wore a vest-trench, not many people noticed that it was missing. Too many people don't remember me anymore. It must be a mistake. Either that, or I really don't know them. In that case, I'm crazy, but on the other hand... The thoughts ran through his head as he ran to catch up to the mysterious Mahrim.
Deadpool
Sazurothz smiled as he caught Drog by the scruff. "I want no blood shed even though two of my elite unti is dead. Seems the ones with the short tempers are dead. Calm is always the way to go" He Set Drog down and walked right past Kanya. "Continue about your day madam" He smiled knowing that the girl would be confused at a pilot and nonvoilent Slake. It was about one of the rarest things you'd ever see. He heard a noise coming from the alley way then saw a girl comeing from it. A slake to be more exact. "Ashcraft" The Slake immediatly borke out into a run but was caught short at a firm but genlte hand on the back of her neck. "Do not worry, you will not die" He let her go as she turned to face him "Well what do you want from me?" Sazurothz smiled as he pulled to technolyte stones from inside his armor. He smiled as the female Slake stood amazed by them. "Where did you get these?" "I will tell you more. Meet me at the tavern in one hour. I must find Nana. Don't worry they take after me and are pretty nice. They get along with most other races." Sazurothz found the junk shop that Nana worked at and knew she would come back to check on the owner. Felas. Sazurothz walked in and looked around as Felas came in. "What can..." Her voice left her as she reached for her weapon but Sazurothz got it first" "I am not here to cause any trouble, all I wanted to do is talk to Nana but seems Lika made a mess" He took out more then enough money to pay for the damages. "This should do" He fired Felas' cross bow at the wall. "Nice desgin and fairly accurate, but let me show you how to improve it" He showed her as he began tweaking it and soon it more tiwce as well as before and they became immensed in a conversation about technology and other various things
Stark
She darted down the streets, a small figure who could easily hide in the shadows, just as Kanya had told her to do. It was for the best, because she heard the deep voice of the one figure she didn't want to meet not long after she left the Velati. She silently congratulated herself, and breathed out her releif in the words "That was close." She rounded a corner and plotted out her course. It would be fairly easy; duck through the small alley ways she knew as well as she knew Tanner, and make her way back to Felas' shop. She wanted to let the kind Mahrim know that she was all right, becuase there was nothing worse than a restless, worried Felas to deal with. She had taken the long route, only because it was the least visible, and was ready to resume her life with Felas and continue repairing her motorcycle. There were other things in that shop that needed fixed too--among them her crossbow--but she would get to them all in due time. She was about to reach for the door, but paused. She knew there was someone in there with Felas, but didn't know who. All she could gather, from the presence technolyte stones, was that they were very high in the Slake government. Nana froze. There was a phrase, 'The criminal always returns to the scene of the crime', that she remembered then. She knew in that instant that, who ever was in there, knew that as well. "Damn it!" She cursed softly, and took off toward The Cauldren. If nothing else, she could get a bite to eat and a safe place to hide for a little while.
