kurin
I love the movie and the book :catgirl: Lestat is my Favorite character I LOVE LESTAT :love2: He is the second oldest vampier but who cares. ;)
Samsara
I think this is the only case where I thought the movie was actually better than the book. I liked the rest of the books in the Vampire Chronicles, Interview With a Vampire just bored me for some reason.
renayiiq
yeah I've read the book, and I've seen the movie. I loved the book. I was so pissed off
that Claudia died
. She was so awesome. The movie was pretty good, too. I think that Tom Cruise played Lestat wonderfully. Much better than Stuart Townsend did, anyways. Linkk
I have read the book twice and seen the movie a lot. I think they are both awesome! I have read all the vampire chronicle books. Only Interview with the vampire and The Vampire Lestat are good. I though the other ones sucked!
IceRose
The first time it has happenned, I have only seen the film for Interview with a Vampire, my bookwormis nature did not kick in to be reading the novel for some reason. The movie was depressing, too many die....
Zhara
You all like this steaming pile of crap? Louis is an annoying, blubbering whiner! Albeit Claudia and Armand are excellently developed characters, I just happen to loathe Louis. Loathe. And I haven't even finished reading the book yet. I can't wait to start reading The Vampire Lestat so that I don't have to tolerate his pathetic sniveling. Seriously, Louis, go get staked. Other than that, Anne Rice is a genius author. Kudos.
Stark
After watching the movie version of The Queen of the Damned, I don't want to see the movie version of Interview with the Vampire. But, I enjoyed the book. I don't care what you have to say about Louis, because the story revolves around Lestat. Louis is just the medium that Anne Rice uses to start the story and the fascination that is Lestat de Lioncourt. No where else can you meet such a lovable fiend. Death wise--people are supposed to die, even if they are vampires. Keep in mind
Caludia should have been left to die. It is taboo to make a child vampire, for reasons that become obvious later on.
When reading Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, it's almost a necessity to have read this book. Lestat constantly makes references to little Claudia, even if she was a child from hell. Since I started reading with Memnoch the Devil, reading the earlier novels cleared quite a few things up for me. I'm glad I read it, even if Louis is a bit tresome with his moaning and angst. Veritas
Well, I guess I will just state that I like Louis a hell of a lot more than Lestat. Which is rather odd, because most of the time I enjoy cold, calculating characters. Anywho I think that Louis's character was very well written. I think it showed how he had became a monster, but was trying to maintain his humanity. I relate this to the struggle of good an evil in every day life. He is just more enigmatic, and charming with a more genuine being. I think this is why Lestat was so attracted to Louis, his personality, his internal and eternal struggle to maintain his humanity. Louis was unlike most vampires, he hated what he had become, and embraced little of the power he had recieved. He was living a half life, taking life to sustain life, though he managed to maintain some control over his instincts and cravings. The power of will represented in that speaks for itself. I just relate the vampires in the story to humans, each one has the potential to do great and terrible things, though human nature prevents us otherwise, with out it we'd be no better than savages. Also, as Stark has stated, everthing is meant to die, I personally think death isn't the end but the beginning, if not for you, for new life. Without death their can be no life. So what Louis complains alot, and is rather angsty, most people I know are, being content is something that few people achieve.
Shi no Tenshi
I disliked Interview with a Vampire and Queen of the Damned - mainly because it just didn't feel like the idea of being a vampire was accurately portrayed (I'm biased towards Bram Stoker). Besides all that most of them did was whine, roll around howling in the night and try to be erotic in the controlled sexuality sort of way (and I don't mean sexual orientation). Apart from that the plot structure seemed weak and predictable - for that I don't really feel motivated enough to read the books. Give me Dracula any day. fire_fly52
I liked the movie but i am quite bias when it comes to vampire movies, books, or the other media they come in. Interview with the vampire i must reconize for staying close with what the charaters really looked like. I tought the story line was well developed the book was portayed quite well in the move. kurin
You are RIGHT Tom cruise did play Lestat wonderfully :catgirl: then stuart Townsend but come on he's still hot! ;) And it was pretty sad what happened to
claudia.
:( Added spoiler tags. - Petie

Anne Rice's version is not either but to me has more of an interesting take of vampires. Stoker's concept was based on certian elements but not accurately portrayed. Anyway I loved Interview with the Vampire with a dying passion. I also enjoyed reading the books (i have majority of them). However my favorite character is not from Interview with the Vampire but appeared in Pandora and Blood and Gold. His name is Marius. He was so badly used in Queen of the Damned that i wanted to cry. I also adore Lydia (Pandora). I do favor Lestat recently. His deviant behavior is amusing sometimes.
