Anime Anime Holiday Moments

[color=#333333][font=trebuchet ms]A thousand apologies to Dags if this same thread is lurking just off the first page. I'd be lying if I said I checked.

I don't watch a lot of anime (the two series I've seen in entirety are probably just Digimon and Haibane Renmei), but both of those have had Christmassy themes at one point of the story, so I'm going to assume that there are other anime out there that have the same. (I'm pretty sure I've heard talk about a Love Hina holiday special.)

What are your favorite Holiday moments?

Haibane Renmei has an entire story arc which takes place around what is probably a new year's celebration. Everyone in the town buys little "bell nuts" (different colors symbolise different things--forgiveness, love, friendship, thanks, etc.) and give them to the people (or Haibane) they know. It's quite sweet. (There's a darker side to the story, as well, but that's spoilerrific.)[/color][/font]

I remember there being a really nice Christmas episode in [b]Full Moon wo Sagashite[/b], but unfortunately, the details escape me. I imagine it was probably about as warm & fuzzy and touching as the rest of the show, though.

[b]Big O[/b] has an episode that's obviously meant to evoke Christmas, although the name of the holiday is never mentioned specifically (which makes sense, given that the setting is a city without memories). Of course there are battling giant robots and monsters too, haha. But as I recall, it ends on a surprisingly contemplative note. Actually it might be one of the softer episodes--I haven't seen it in a while--so I could be wrong about the fighting robots part. I always get it mixed up with "Day of the Advent." However, I think it's actually episode 11 of the first season, "Daemonseed."

There's a Christmas party at some point in [b]Chrono Crusade[/b]. And fairly early on in [b]R.O.D the TV[/b], the Paper Sisters are shown celebrating Christmas together.

The [b]RahXephon[/b] Christmas episode involves a party full of sublimated romantic tension, followed by [spoiler]Sayoko being trapped in a Dolem[/spoiler] while the whole island is covered in snow. Not really the kind of thing that evokes holiday cheer.

Overall, though, my favorites are the first two I mentioned.

My favorite moment was on Vandread- a White Snow. It was pretty, I mean Ditta running around trying to find Hibiki and Hibiki trying to find a gift for Ditta. Just precious. I loved that moment and finally Duelo somewhat sharing his feelings with Parfeit.

Mohoros christmas is the best christmas episode of any anime ever if you watched the others.
